[The Princess Weiyoung]

[Episode 43]

You can only be my woman.

If you think otherwise...

You'd better give up that man soon.

- Your Highness! - Let go of me!

Am I to do nothing as Tuoba Yu deceives Wei Young?

I have to tell her the truth.

I must tell her that Tuoba Yu was behind my mother's murder.

Your Highness!

If you tell Miss Wei Young the truth now

Prince of Nan-An might notice that she knows the truth.

Should Prince of Nan-An use that against you

you wouldn't be able to strike back!

I don't care! I just want Wei Young safe.

What about Crown Princess Consort's death?

Crown Prince Jing Mu's death?

Would you let that all go?

Your Highness needn't worry.

Although Prince of Nan-An has designs on Miss Wei Young

she might not fall for his tricks.

I have to exceed Tuoba Yu in terms of authority.

Only then could I truly do as I wish.

His Majesty still thinks very highly of you.

Crown Prince's aides also said that they will support you.

Given some time, Your Highness will have enough power to go against him.

Your Highness will have to put up with it for now.

Prince of Nan-An is very powerful.

It won't be wise to go against him now.

Prince of Gaoyang.

Here you are.

Is something the matter?

I'm just here to tell Your Highness that I pride myself

on being a man with good judgment of character.

You're the only bad judgment I made.

I thought that you're a man of noble ambition unlike any other.

Who knew that you're also a senseless man who lusts after beautiful women?

As you're our honorable guest, I'd ask you to mind your words.

The pain that you inflicted upon Wei Young...

I will make you pay for it sooner or later.

An Le!

I let you have it your way when you act willfully.

But why would you purposely pick on the princess of Great Wei today?

They were rude to us first!

Don't you know that they call us

Ruru (derogatory term for Rouran) behind our backs?

I just don't want to be belittled by them!

After what you did today, do they think better of you now?

Since I have to stay in this palace for the rest of my life

I mustn't be bullied!

Who am I to rely on if not myself?

Would you help me?

How did you know that I haven't?

I even pulled some strings to get officials to speak up for you.

I know that you don't want this marital treaty. Neither do I!

However, we have to act cautiously or we'll only get ourselves in trouble!

Do you understand that?

- I will make a huge mess! - You...

My prince. Someone is asking for you. It seems urgent.

Give it some thought!

All right now, Princess. Don't be angry.

I won't be married off for a treaty!

I'd rather die than be married off to Rouran!

Your Highness, you haven't eaten anything all day.

Please at least have a bite to eat.

I won't!

I might as well starve to death.

I won't be married off to Rouran if I starve to death!

Didn't Li Min De say that he would call the marital treaty off?

Why would Father still marry me off to Rouran?

Your Highness! Why isn't Prince Yuan Lie here yet?

Is he really so unfeeling?

He doesn't care about Her Highness?

Your Highness, Prince Yuan Lie is here!

You are all dismissed.

Your maid said that you haven't eaten all day.

That won't do your health any good.

Here.

I know that you're still mad at me because of the marital treaty.

But I've already gone around asking officials

to help advise against it.

Who would dare talk Father out of his decision?

If no one will help me, I just have to approach His Majesty

to make him retract the marital treaty!

Father wouldn't listen to you.

Then I...

I will take you away!

No one is to force you into doing anything against your wishes.

Your Highness, I mean every word.

Should that day come, would you be willing to leave everything behind?

Your Highness, will you...

I do!

As long as I could be with you, I'm willing to do anything.

Right?

Then you should all the more take good care of your health, right?

Here, give me a smile.

Give me a smile?

Here.

Here.

It's getting late. I should go now.

Li Min De.

I love you.

I know that I was never the one on your mind.

But I'm still so foolishly in love with you.

I am the most arrogant princess in Great Wei.

But I'm willing to give everything up just for you.

Your Highness.

[Inn]

My Prince.

Have you met with Princess Shang Gu?

You've been following me?

Please appease your anger.

I only did so to ensure your safety.

Strictly speaking, I did meet Princess Shang Gu once.

What are you up to?

Your Highness, we can make use of her.

Don't make decisions on your own!

I won't let you off if you hurt her!

Why would you care so much about Princess Shang Gu?

- We're friends! - Just friends?

Your Highness allowed Princess An Le to act so willfully.

Are you trying to sabotage the marital treaty?

I hope that you can discipline the princess more sternly.

I know what to do.

Will Your Highness prioritize Rouran's interests?

Your Highness, I have to remind you again.

The task entrusted to you by our Khan must not be delayed.

You should take action soon.

Is this washed?

Princess An Le?

Break everything!

- Yes! - Over here! There!

Break everything!

What are you doing, Your Highness?

How dare a mere chief maid of the laundry bureau humiliate Rouran?

When did I humiliate Rouran?

Do you think that I didn't notice?

You called us Rourans Ruru behind our backs!

Ruru?

I dare you to say it again!

Your Highness, I've never said any disrespectful words to you.

Is this a misunderstanding?

A misunderstanding?

Do you think that I didn't know? I know exactly

what you have been saying behind my back.

I haven't even made you pay for what you did at the banquet!

Let's wait and see!

Let's go!

Why is this Princess An Le so mean?

Exactly. She's unreasonable.

I've never said anything mean about the princess.

Who exactly is spreading such rumors?

Young Mistress, after Princess An Le learned that

Li Wei Young spoke ill of Rouran behind her back

she took a group of her servants to pick on Li Wei Young at the laundry bureau.

All the washed clothes were dumped on the ground.

Many people witnessed it.

They are now enemies.

Should Princess An Le encounter any mishap in the future

Li Wei Young will be the prime suspect.

What should we do now?

Wei Young.

I heard that Princess An Le caused a disturbance in your bureau.

Are you all right?

I'm all right.

If it were in the past, I wouldn't let her off.

But now...

It must be that you helped Ninth Princess at the banquet

so narrow-minded Princess An Le bore a grudge against you.

Ninth Princess helped me numerous times.

I definitely can't allow her to be picked on.

Moreover, I also wish to do well before His Majesty

so that he will have a good impression of me.

Then I'll seize the chance to ask him to investigate Bai Zhi's case.

Perhaps there's still a chance to find the killer.

You haven't given up yet?

I will never give up.

I will definitely seek out that murderer

and make her pay for taking Bai Zhi's life.

I ran into Li Chang Le again after Bai Zhi was murdered.

She really is so shameless.

In order to acquit herself, she will say anything.

What did she say?

She said that you were also in the palace that day.

Shouldn't you be suspected?

I...

Wei Young, I...

I know.

She must have said that to drive a wedge between us.

I won't fall for her tricks.

Besides, I know that you're the only one who still truly treats me well.

All right, I have to get back to work.

I shouldn't stay out for too long.

Wei Young, be cautious.

Li Wei Young, the show is about to begin.

You really have to be very careful.

Deliver these to Honorable Lady Zhuo.

Yes.

Your Highness, what's on your mind?

Wei Young.

I'm thinking that although I was born a princess

I don't even have the right to be with the man I love.

Your Highness likes Min De, right?

He told you?

What did he say?

He didn't say a word.

It's written all over your face.

Is it?

But then, so what if I do?

He hasn't fallen for me.

Does Min De know how you feel about him?

Yes... I'm about to be married off.

And I'm even going to marry Li Min De's father!

Don't panic yet, Your Highness.

As long as you're still not married, your fate isn't sealed.

There might be a turn of events.

Wei Young, will you come up with a solution for me?

Don't panic just yet.

It's her again!

I heard that she actually picked on you.

I'll teach her a lesson.

Your Highness!

- Your Highness! - An Le!

- It's you? - We're about the same age.

We both grew up riding horses.

How about we have a competition?

Tuoba Di, listen up. You really are no match for me.

Stop embarrassing yourself!

Your Highness, don't make this worse.

You again? You're not happy that I taught you a lesson

so you got help?

You should at least get someone who is more capable!

What are you talking about?

Listen up!

Who's boasting now?

Let's head over to the arena now!

You said it!

Don't go crying and whining to the emperor when I beat you!

I should be the one to say that!

Since this is combat, we should make a bet.

What are you betting on?

Money or jewelry mean nothing to us.

Why don't we try something special?

What do you suggest?

If you lose...

She gets caned 50 times.

If I lose to you, my maid will be punished in my stead.

What has anyone else got to do with our combat?

Call it off if you're scared.

What?

I would lose to you?

Fine! Let's place the bet then!

But I don't need to cane your maid.

If you lose to me, you are never to pick on Wei Young again!

Deal!

Your Highness!

Wei Young, don't worry.

We will win this match.

Your Highness!

Your Highness!

Tuoba Di, you've lost!

Drag Li Wei Young away to be caned 50 times!

Wei Young!

Don't you dare touch her!

Wei Young!

Tuoba Di, do the people of Wei go back on their word?

In Rouran, we have to keep our promises.

We can't go back on our word!

If you keep doing this, I'll tell Father about it!

You asked for this match.

I'm not scared even if you complain to His Majesty!

Wei Young...

Wei Young!

Stop it!

Get lost!

Wei Young!

- Wei Young! - Are you all right?

Are you hurt?

It was just a few strokes.

You don't have to be worried.

An Le, you went too far!

Let's go.

Wei Young, I'm sorry.

I didn't know that Princess An Le is so skilled.

I...

- I'm all right. - Exactly! It's your fault!

Your Highness, could you not mess around?

You're a princess. No one dares to punish you.

But Wei Young is now just a maid in the laundry bureau!

Min De.

If you keep doing things like this, she could be killed!

Yes, this is all my fault.

Blame it all on me.

I...

I...

Your Highness!

Let her be.

Min De, how can you say that about Her Highness?

Was I wrong?

What else is she capable of apart from stirring up trouble?

Do you know why she agreed to this combat?

She didn't have to offend Princess An Le at all.

She was trying to stand up for me.

She wants to protect and take good care of me at all times.

But do you know why she's doing that?

Ninth Princess likes you so much.

She likes you so very much.

Whether you're the foster son of the Li family or the prince of Rouran

her feelings for you never once faltered.

Just because of what you said to her, she undertook the responsibility

to take good care of me as the most important duty in her life.

She's worried that you would be disappointed in her

if she doesn't take care of me well enough.

Look at how devoted she is to you.

How could you still reprimand her?

Answer me. Will one's efforts always pay off?

Is it that as long as you're always kind to the person you like

your feelings will be reciprocated?

You don't like Ninth Princess?

She really is a very lovely girl.

I...

All right, all right.

Let's not talk about her.

I'm sorry.

An Le is the cause of this disturbance.

She has always been pampered and spoiled.

I will discipline her when I get back.

I will make sure that she doesn't bully you again.

It's fine.

How is it my fault that she's not skilled enough?

If she is such a sore loser, she should never have offended me!

Do you think that I don't understand why you're deliberately acting up?

If you dare hurt Wei Young again

don't blame me for disregarding our kinship!

Your Highness.

How is Li Wei Young?

Prince Yuan Lie got there in time

so Miss Wei Young was only slightly injured.

Why would a princess of Rouran keep picking on a servant?

Miss Wei Young seemed to have spoken disrespectfully of Rouran.

I'm afraid it's not that simple.

Your Highness, whatever the reason

Princess An Le is too hard and unforgiving.

Should she become your consort one day, I'm afraid...

We still don't know if she will become my consort or not.

It's so annoying that they follow me around all day.

But... They were sent here by our Khan to protect you.

This is the palace of Great Wei.

Is it not safe enough?

You've had a hard time following me around these days.

These are for you.

Thank you, Your Highness!

You can have this as well!

Quickly!

Princess An Le is really mischievous.

But it was worth our time following her for some many days.

She is now finally on her own.

Wei Young, An Le has bullied you several times.

Should I get back at her for you?

Young Mistress, look!

They succeeded!

How about Li Wei Young?

No one is to see Li Wei Young elsewhere at the time of An Le's murder.

Don't worry, Young Mistress.

The servants I bribed will lure Li Wei Young away

once they see this kite flying.

Wash the clothes more carefully.

- Yes. - Yes, I understand.

Madam.

I'm Madame Liu's maid, Qing Ye.

I need to ask you for advice.

I wonder if you have some time to spare.

What is the matter?

Please come with me.

If you have any questions, just ask me right here.

I...

I...

I still have work to do.

I'll look for you at Madame Liu's when I'm done with work.

Madam!

Madam!

Chang Ru!

Wei Young, what a coincidence.

Exactly. What brings you to the palace today?

It's all because of that Princess An Le.

Consort Zhaoyi has been summoning us to keep Princess An Le company.

It's been hard on you these days.

Why have you gotten some time to yourself?

It was quite a weird encounter.

What was?

A maid who claimed to serve Madame Liu acted sneakily

and even took me to a secluded area.

That was so strange.

Are you all right?

I'm definitely fine.

Since Prince of Dongping set me up

I've been more cautious.

Once I noticed something amiss, I left right away.

It's always better to be careful.

I haven't seen you around for a while.

Why don't we go for a walk?

Sure, let's go.

How is it?

- Have you found the princess? - No.

This is odd.

They said that Her Highness came here.

Why has she disappeared?

Let's go and search over there.

Yes!

When Min De and I went to pay our respects to Third Aunt

much came to my mind.

What did you think of?

I thought of many people.

Third Aunt, Zi Yan... Then there's Chiyun Rou and Li Min Feng.

They harmed me many times.

That is all in the past now.

I recalled that whenever I was bullied

you would always stand up for me and help me.

Even if you were hurt because of it

you never hesitated to help me again.

I've always felt very happy to have a sister like you.

I'm also happy to have you as a sister.

I need to get going.

Chang Ru.

I really hope that my suspicion is wrong.

I'm sorry, Young Mistress.

I didn't realize that Li Wei Young is a lot more guarded now.

You almost spoiled our plan.

Fortunately, she ran into me.

But then I'll also be involved in this case.

[Jinggong Gate]

What? The princess went missing?

When did that happen?

It was after lunchtime!

Some time after lunch, the princess went missing!

Wretched maid!

You should have attended to the princess more carefully!

Should anything happen to the princess...

I'll tear you to pieces!

I've done wrong!

- I've done wrong... - Master Envoy.

This isn't the time to be pointing fingers.

Finding the princess is the priority.

Exactly.

Our princess went missing in your palace.

If we are to hold anyone responsible

it would be Great Wei.

Convey my decree. Search the entire palace!

Find the princess as soon as possible.

Yes!

Let's go over there!

An Le!

An Le!

An Le!

Search thoroughly!

Is Princess An Le in trouble?

- Although she's really mean - An Le!

I still hope that she is safe, seeing how anxious Li Min De is.

I believe that they will soon discover Princess An Le's body.

My mother was right.

I can't just be a concubine.

I've made such great efforts.

Never must I be trampled on by anyone else.

Now that Princess An Le is dead

Li Wei Young is next.

This is killing two birds with one stone.

Young Mistress is so smart.

However...

Before I take Li Wei Young down, I have to meet someone.

Why have you asked to see me this time?

I don't want any part in your hideous plots.

What's yours? What's mine?

As long as it concerns Li Wei Young

whose matter is it then?

Do you still think that she can pose any threat to me now?

Is that what you really think?

It seems that...

This concerns us both.

An Le!

An Le!

- An Le! - Princess!

- Princess! - I failed to protect you!

I deserve to die!

An Le...

Why would this happen?

An Le.

- Princess... - Your Highness.

Princess...

Our Khan sent Her Highness here

with the sincere intention of establishing a marital treaty

but who knew that she would be murdered in the palace of Wei?

If Great Wei fails to solve this case

Rouran will never let you forget!

Princess...

Don't worry, Master Envoy.

We owe you an answer, so we will surely seek out the princess's cause of death.

- Princess... - We found something here!

Your Highness.

[Hanzhong Bureau]

[Hanzhong Bureau] We found the badge

of the laundry bureau at the crime scene.

The murderer must have dropped it accidentally at the time of the murder.

The murderer must be among you!

Calm down, Master Envoy.

We will surely get to the bottom of it.

Take out your badges.

In order to rule yourselves out, hold out your badges.

What is going on?

Where is your badge?

I don't have it with me.

It must be her!

That maid argued with the princess.

Her Highness only taught you a lesson, but you actually...

You must have held a grudge against the princess and killed her!

I didn't kill Princess An Le!

Her murderer is someone else.

There isn't a name engraved on this badge.

Li Wei Young's badge is lost, but it doesn't make her the killer.

Exactly!

Perhaps someone stole her badge to frame her!

Princess An Le went missing around noon two days ago.

Tell me.

Where were you and who can prove your alibi?

We just had lunch then.

We were all in the lounge taking a break and chatting.

Apart from Wei Young and Xiao Hong, we were all here.

I went to deliver clothes to the concubines.

I even stayed there for some time.

Someone can vouch for me.

After noon, I was indeed away from the laundry bureau.

However, I ran into my cousin Li Chang Ru at East Corridor.

A maid called Qing Ye can also prove my alibi.

Go and verify their testimonies.

Yes!

Why isn't the prince here?

The death of the princess is a severe blow to the prince.

His Highness has fallen ill.

Zong Ai, send someone to care for the prince.

Yes.

Summon the suspect.

Li Wei Young.

Why is it you again?

Your Majesty, I'm innocent.

There's solid evidence. How dare you plead innocence?

Your Majesty! This servant told nothing but lies!

She said that a maid called Qing Ye could verify her alibi

but it's been confirmed that Madame Liu never had a maid called Qing Ye!

How can we still believe anything she says?

Someone set me up, Your Majesty.

My cousin Li Chang Ru can verify my alibi.

I was chatting with my cousin at East Corridor that day.

I've already sent for Li Chang Ru.

Miss Li Chang Ru seeks audience!

Greetings to Your Majesty.

Li Chang Ru.

Think it over carefully.

Two days ago at noon, did you meet Li Wei Young?

Two days ago at noon?

Wei Young.

When you visited the palace two days ago, didn't we run into each other?

Think about it carefully.

We even chatted for a while.

Exactly! Think about it carefully.

This concerns Wei Young's life!

If you dare tell any lies, you're committing treason.

What are you trying to do?

Are you threatening her into giving false testimony?

The princess's spirit is watching us!

If you don't tell the truth, you will be struck down by lightning!

Yes...

I did... I did see my cousin then.

I told you so. Wei Young is innocent.

You're her cousin.

Who knows if you're just covering up for her?

Tell me where you saw her that day.

It was...

We were in the Imperial Garden.

Chang Ru.

Think about it carefully.

Then...

It was at the laundry bureau.

One of you claims to have met in East Corridor

while the other says Imperial Garden and the laundry bureau.

Li Wei Young, can you produce doppelgangers?

She's obviously covering up for you!

She never met you that day!

How dare you!

You dare to lie before His Majesty?

Your Majesty!

Please let my cousin off!

She is innocent.

Although I didn't see her that day, I believe that she must be innocent!

Chang Ru.

What are you saying?

- I'm your second cousin. - I'm sorry.

I can't help you.

I'm sorry!

Why?

Why are you doing this?

Your Majesty, I am telling the truth.

One of you must be lying.

Li Chang Ru, you had better think this over carefully.

If you dare to commit treason

your family will also be implicated.

Out with the truth now!

Your Majesty, please spare me! I will tell the truth!

Two days ago at noon, I really didn't see Wei Young!

I was in the Imperial Garden with my eldest cousin

Princess Consort of Gaoyang!

Summon Princess Consort of Gaoyang.

Wei Young, if I'm the only one who gets punished

I'd surely risk my life to help you.

However, it would affect the entire Li family.

I really can't help you.

Li Chang Ru.

Never did I expect you to be this sort of person.

Wei Young.

Princess Consort of Gaoyang seeks audience!

Greetings to Your Majesty.

Princess Consort of Gaoyang.

Where were you two days ago at noon?

Both Chang Ru and I were summoned to the palace by Consort Zhaoyi Lu.

We ran into each other in the Imperial Garden.

So we stayed and chatted for about an hour.

Your Majesty, this is all cleared up.

Our princess was killed by one of your people here in your palace.

Her motive aside, you will be held responsible

for your incompetence in protecting the princess.

I will have this matter reported to our Khan.

Should Your Majesty fail to satisfy our Khan with the verdict

Rouran won't let you off easily.

I will take my leave now.

[Imperial Dungeon]

Chang Ru.

I've always regarded you as my sister.

Why would you treat me so?

Was it all nothing more than an act?

Wei Young!

Your Highness.

Li Chang Ru!

I warned you not to lay a finger on Li Wei Young!

Do you show any regard for what I say?

Has Your Highness misunderstood me?

This has nothing to do with me!

Li Chang Ru!

I really shouldn't have underestimated you.

You'll do anything to get what you want!

This has nothing to do with me.

I won't waste my breath on you!

I don't care how you do it, but you must make everyone see that

Li Wei Young had nothing to do with Princess An Le's death!

I can't do that!

His Majesty had another witness to prove that Li Wei Young lied!

No one can help her anymore!

The other witness Li Chang Le is your accomplice!

Yes.

We are partners in crime.

Will Your Highness expose us to His Majesty?

His Majesty would surely be interested in this matter.

And... He will also be interested in many other matters!

How dare you threaten me?

I'm not threatening Your Highness.

I just want Your Highness to know that

I'm the only one who truly cares about you!

What is it about Li Wei Young that attracted you?

Does she trust you? Could she assist you?

You don't even dare to tell her what you truly have in mind!

Exactly.

Indeed, she's not on my side.

But she will become mine sooner or later.

Do you know why I fell for her?

She's the first woman who could set my mind at ease.

She's the only person whom I could entrust my life to.

Does Your Highness now reproach me for being ruthless?

But you taught me to behave so!

All these meticulously plotted schemes and effort! Who was it for?

I did it to stay by your side and fulfill your dreams!

I have done so much for Your Highness.

I should be the one you care about the most!

Li Chang Ru!

Who do you think you are?

You are but a servant to me!

Do you think that you can do as you wish just because you're my woman?

Should any mishap befall Li Wei Young

you will be buried along with her!
