[The Princess Weiyoung]

[Episode 27]

Pull harder!

When can we ever get home?

What happened?

The carriage in the front has overturned. The road is now blocked.

Young Mistress.

We might not make it into the city before curfew.

Escort the other carriages first and I'll follow in the rear!

Yes!

Something isn't quite right.

There's unforeseen danger if we stay here.

What should we do now?

We'll take a detour.

Take a detour into the city!

Do you think you will be safe by taking a detour?

Li Wei Young.

Genius often betrays itself into great errors.

Yes.

Once Li Wei Young is dead

no one will ever know who really saved Prince of Gaoyang.

But Young Mistress, I still can't understand

why you told Prince of Gaoyang not to tell anyone that you saved him.

At least His Majesty and Crown Princess Consort should know about it.

If they did, Young Mistress would surely become his consort.

There are too many loopholes in this matter.

If His Majesty finds out about my lies

I won't even get to live

let alone become his granddaughter-in-law.

Therefore, this matter will have to proceed slowly.

Now that Prince of Gaoyang is grateful to me

he doesn't dislike me anymore.

Once Li Wei Young is gone

I'll make him fall for me after some time.

By then, he will definitely marry me.

Assassins! Watch out!

Assassins!

Young Mistress...

Young Mistress, leave now!

- Young Mistress! - Run!

Quickly!

Run!

Bai Zhi!

Young Mistress, run!

Run!

Go after her! Quickly!

Isn't it the report that you want?

Take it!

Tuoba Jun, let go of me!

It is me that they want.

I'll never let go of you!

If you don't, you'll be dead.

Catch her!

As long as I'm here, I won't let anything happen to you.

What are you going to do?

Let's go!

Tuoba Jun!

Don't be scared. Hold on tightly to me!

Let's go.

Be careful.

Don't look down.

Come!

- Young Mistress! - Your Highness!

- Your Highness! - Young Mistress!

Where are you, Your Highness?

Young Mistress!

Young Mistress!

- Your Highness! - Wei Young!

Your Highness!

Wei Young!

Young Mistress!

- Your Ladyship! - Your Highness!

- Your Ladyship! - Your Highness!

Could Young Mistress be...

Your Highness!

Your Ladyship!

Your Highness!

- Your Ladyship! - Your Highness!

- Young Mistress! - Your Highness!

- Young Mistress, where are you? - Your Highness!

Young Mistress!

Young Mistress, where are you?

Wei Young...

Wei Young...

Your Highness!

- Your Highness! - Wei Young!

Your Highness!

[Chiyun Manor]

Here's a toast to my cousin.

Once the news of Li Wei Young's death is made known

I will express my gratitude formally.

What is there to thank? We're family.

When you become the empress of the next reign

don't turn me down when I have favors to ask of you.

Whatever you ask of me, I will surely agree.

General!

General, bad news!

Prince of Gaoyang fell over the cliff as well

when he tried to save Lady of District Anping.

Useless scum!

Why would Prince of Gaoyang fall over the cliff?

How did that happen?

It all happened so suddenly. We couldn't stop him in time.

Convey my orders.

Search thoroughly.

You must find Prince of Gaoyang or else your life is forfeit!

Yes!

A bunch of incompetent fools!

General, calm your anger.

Fortunately, it was the killer warriors of Chiyun who were sent on this mission.

Therefore, no one will ever know that the Chiyun family is involved.

You're right.

Even if His Majesty investigates it, he won't be able to get anything on me.

It has already come to such and you dare to make excuses?

I told you to kill Li Wei Young.

Why would Prince of Gaoyang be involved?

Give me back my prince!

You're not to be rude to the general!

Put down the sword or you'll be sorry.

Step down.

General!

Cousin.

We're not certain that Prince of Gaoyang has died.

Even if he is, it isn't all that bad for you either.

What?

Think about this carefully.

Do you want to be the future empress or do you want Tuoba Jun?

If it is Tuoba Jun you want

you can use that sword and kill me by all means.

However, if you want to be the empress, how would you know that

Prince of Dongping or Nan-An aren't the best candidates?

Once Tuoba Jun is dead

the fight for the Crown Prince position will become a lot more obvious.

You just have to choose the better prince to marry at the right time.

Won't it then be simple for you to become the empress?

Swords...

They are weapons for men.

My cousin...

You should learn to use women's unique weapons.

No...

Prince of Gaoyang won't die.

Jun...

My Jun...

I don't believe that my prime grandson would be killed so easily.

As long as I don't see his body, I won't believe that he's dead.

Search for him!

Yes!

Your Majesty, don't be angry.

Mind your health.

Find out about the assassins!

I will have the assassins and the culprit behind them torn to pieces!

Wei Young...

- Young Mistress... - Wei Young...

Wei Young!

When we left, we were all fine.

Who knew that Wei Young would end up like this?

Didn't you say that you're skilled in martial arts?

Why can't you even protect your mistress?

Why would we keep such a useless servant?

Anyone there?

Stop it. That's enough!

Wei Young...

Whom are you mourning?

Has Wei Young's death been confirmed?

Did we see her body yet?

What are you crying for?

If you have the time to cry

you might as well think about how to find Wei Young.

Old Madam...

Anyone there?

- Present! - Convey my orders.

Send our men to search for Wei Young and Prince of Gaoyang.

Bring them back if they are alive!

If not, their corpses.

Yes!

Old Madam.

Wouldn't them surviving falling off a cliff be too bizarre?

Moreover, there are so many wild beasts.

Even if we can't find their bodies--

I don't care!

If I don't see her body

no one can make me believe that Wei Young is already dead!

Old Madam!

I will search for my mistress right away.

If Young Mistress is really dead, I will return to be punished.

I will not choose to live.

If we let you go, will you really return?

If I'm determined to get away, no one can hold me back!

- You... - All right, enough!

I believe in your loyalty for Wei Young.

I hope that you can bring her home safely.

I won't let Old Madam down!

Cousin, think carefully.

Do you want to become the future empress or do you want Tuoba Jun?

Young Mistress.

It's time for your meal.

Young Mistress.

Ever since His Highness's accident, you haven't had anything to eat.

If this continues, your health will be affected.

I won't have any appetite unless His Highness returns.

His Highness will surely turn this misfortune into blessings.

Tan Xiang.

I really don't understand how Li Wei Young is better than me.

His Highness would even risk his life for her.

I finally won over a bit of his sympathy.

But now Li Wei Young ruined it.

You are dismissed.

I'd like to be left alone.

Yes.

Gods above

please bless His Highness with a safe return.

What is it, Wei Young?

I'm all right.

Here, get some rest.

Are you hungry?

I'll go and get you some food.

- Tuoba Jun. - Wait here for me.

Tuoba Jun...

You're so nice to me, but I just keep getting you hurt.

Could you not be so nice to me?

Perhaps...

We were never meant to be together.

I'm sorry.

I can't drag you down with me again.

Your Highness!

- Your Ladyship! - Your Highness!

Search thoroughly!

Take a look over there!

Your Highness!

- Your Ladyship! - Your Highness!

Your Highness!

Your Ladyship!

How is it? Have you found them?

There isn't any trace of His Highness.

They did fall off the cliff, but we can't find them here.

If we still can't find Prince of Gaoyang

don't even dream of keeping our heads on our shoulders!

That is one turbulent river.

Could they have been taken downstream?

It's just that the river branches out into two at the front.

Let's not waste any time searching over here.

Let's search downstream.

You're right.

Why don't I send someone to get more men from the local authorities?

Those from Prime Minister's Manor should join us in the search.

Sure!

The two of you head back to get more men!

- Yes! - The others are to come with me!

Yes!

Jun Tao, I'll search in the woods.

Young Lord.

Why have you summoned me?

I need you to send all of your men to search for Lady of District Anping.

Young Lord.

Khan has written a letter ordering me to bring Young Lord back.

Didn't you hear what I just said?

Khan learned of your current position and he's very angry about it.

How could you bow to anyone

when you're actually of such a prestigious identity?

If Young Lord refuses to come home with me

forgive me for defying your orders.

You're threatening me?

I wouldn't dare do so!

This is Khan's order.

Fine.

As long as you bring Wei Young back, I'll go with you.

Young Lord.

We Rourans value our promises more than our lives.

Does Young Lord truly mean it?

Should I break this promise, the gods and demons will take my life!

Master.

We've tried to persuade Young Lord, but he's insisted on staying.

He now agrees to return with us because of Lady of District Anping.

It seems that Lady of District Anping means a lot to Young Lord.

Follow Young Lord's orders first

and then have this Lady of District Anping investigated.

Yes!

- Your Highness! - Your Ladyship!

- Your Highness! - Your Ladyship!

- Your Highness! - Your Ladyship!

- Your Highness! - Your Ladyship!

Your Highness!

If they came down from upstream, they should have washed up here.

Split up and search for them.

Yes!

Jun Tao. How is it?

I've already sent our men to look for Prince of Gaoyang.

I believe that we'll hear from them soon.

Let's just search around this area.

Split up and search!

They should be right ahead.

Wei Young!

You've run out of pawns.

Your Highness is the better player.

I admit defeat willingly.

It isn't that I played better, but that you're distracted.

Tell me.

What is bothering you?

I wonder if my cousin managed to escape unscathed.

I thought that you're just using Li Wei Young.

Who knew that you actually do care about her?

Your Highness, for all these years

apart from my own mother

Wei Young is the only one who truly treated me kindly.

I wouldn't want her to be harmed.

I see.

You do have a soft spot after all.

Have I surprised Your Highness?

You do surprise me quite often.

However, you're the one who is the perfect match for me.

Your Highness!

Do you know that I've been waiting for this moment all these years?

I'm still curious about something.

What is it?

Should Li Wei Young pose a threat to you, what would you do?

Your Highness.

The strangler fig gets rid of everything in its way, doesn't it?

Wei Young!

Wei Young!

Wei Young!

Where are you going?

Didn't I tell you to wait for me?

Let go of me.

Stay out of this.

How could I?

So many assassins are after you.

- I have to protect you! - Who asked that of you?

Haven't you been hurt too many times for me already?

Will you only give up when your life is taken as well?

Let go of me!

Even if I lose my life, I won't let go of you.

What is it?

Are you hurt?

Wei Young...

You do care about me as well.

Why do you pretend as if you're so unfeeling?

What have you been keeping from me?

You know who those assassins are and who sent them, don't you?

You were that masked dancer who wanted to report to Grandfather

at the hunting banquet, right?

And that report...

What was that about?

All this time...

Who has been eyeing you as an obstacle

and trying to get rid of you?

How many more secrets do you keep?

Tell me! Don't make me worry about you!

What should I do to make you give up on me?

I will never ever let go of you!

Fine.

You simply need to know, don't you?

Listen up.

Those assassins were all sent by Chiyun Nan.

Chiyun Nan?

Why does he keep coming after you?

Do you remember that Chiyun Rou once doubted my identity?

They were right to suspect me.

I was never the prime minister's daughter.

I'm not Li Wei Young!

Who are you?

I'm the wanted escapee Princess of Northern Liang.

The treacherous princess of Northern Liang

who had every intention of rebelling.

But the truth isn't what you believe it to be.

My father never betrayed Wei.

It was all part of Chiyun Nan's scheme!

He wanted the iron mine within the Liang Region lands

and deceived His Majesty.

He framed my father for mutiny in order to claim merits

and take the iron mine for himself.

He slaughtered the royal family.

My father... My grandmother...

Both died by his hands.

That report listed all of his crimes.

I was going to present it at the hunting banquet

to expose his crimes.

The grandfather you respect so much vanquished Great Liang.

Your soldiers destroyed my homeland.

My family can't rest in peace.

My people are in great misery.

Tuoba Jun.

How could I possibly be with you?

How could I fall in love with you?

Wei Young...

I hate Chiyun Nan!

I hate Great Wei!

I hate your grandfather!

I've been lying to you right from the start.

I'm been using you all this time.

Do you understand?

I've never loved you!

I hope that from now on

I will no longer have anything to do with you!

Tuoba Jun!

This is it. We're done with each other!

There she is! Get her! Quickly!

Hurry up! Stop right there!

Stop right there!

Tuoba Jun!

We meet again so soon.

I forgot to tell you that you can't shake me off.

Is this the time to say something like that?

Get out of here now.

They will catch up with us soon.

- Wei Young... - Huh?

Let's go, huh?

Hang in there, Tuoba Jun.

There's a shack.

Let's go in there first.

I'm so sleepy.

What's wrong, Tuoba Jun?

Tuoba Jun!

- Your Highness! - Your Ladyship!

- Search carefully. - Your Highness!

Stay alert.

- Your Ladyship! - Your Highness!

This belongs to His Highness.

He must have been here.

He must be alive!

- Let's go! - Yes!

Prince of Gaoyang went all out to protect Lady of District Anping

and we didn't dare to hurt him, so Her Ladyship...

You didn't hurt His Highness, did you?

His Highness kept protecting her, so we had no choice but to...

I don't keep useless subordinates.

I wonder if Prince of Gaoyang is doing well now.

You're so in love with him

but sadly Prince of Gaoyang only cares about Li Wei Young.

I'd advise you to consider carefully.

Don't give away your affection to the wrong man.

Once Li Wei Young is killed, I will win His Highness back.

It seems that between the prince and the position of the empress

you have chosen the former.

No.

Prince of Gaoyang and the position of empress are both going to be mine.

His Majesty is already in his old age

and Prince of Gaoyang is His Majesty's favorite.

Once I become his princess consort

I won't let you or the Chiyun family down.

General. Prince of Nan-An has sent a letter.

Prince of Nan-An?

You've found Jun?

Your Majesty.

We have discovered traces left behind by Prince of Gaoyang.

We can now confirm that he is still alive

but we don't know where he is right now.

We'll keep searching for him.

Your Majesty. Please keep sending more men to search for him.

Jun is my prime imperial grandson.

How could I not be worried?

I've ordered the Metropolitan Governor to do everything possible to find him.

Didn't Lady of District Anping fall over the cliff with him?

Is there any news of her?

Your Majesty.

Lady of District Anping should be with His Highness.

General.

General, please have a seat.

You have the report?

It's plum wine from this year.

Have a taste.

Don't bother.

I'm not in the mood to drink.

What is it that Your Highness wants?

General has great courage and insight.

You're valiant and smart.

I have admired you for a long time.

However, I never thought that you'd be so ambitious.

I don't understand what you're implying.

General.

Why would you act ignorant?

It's a capital crime to excavate the iron mine without permission.

You hold great armed forces, so it's obvious that you intend to rebel.

Should His Majesty hear of it

your capital crime will wipe out your clan.

It seems that the general should be in the mood

to have a drink with me now.

I'd advise you to hand over the iron mine as soon as possible.

As for the framing of the royal family of Northern Liang

I could still cover that up for you.

Cheers.

Everyone thinks that Your Highness is loyal to Prince of Dongping

but I've never dared underestimate you.

Now, I've truly realized that

Your Highness is nothing like what others thought of you.

In the imperial family

everyone is nothing like what they seem to be.

Exactly.

I know what Your Highness is after.

Your Highness would like to win over the support of the Chiyun family

in order to get you the upper hand in the fight for the throne.

I think very highly of the Chiyun family.

However, I would still be at an advantage even if they don't support me.

The Chiyuns might be a centuries' old aristocratic family

but they can continue to prosper only by supporting the right ruler.

Can I trust Your Highness?

General.

You're left with no other choice.

Even if Your Highness has the report

and the Chiyun family pledges allegiance to you

it isn't enough to resolve the crisis.

How is that so?

Li Wei Young still lives.

- Li Wei Young? - She's not Li Wei Young.

She is actually the princess of Northern Liang.

If Your Highness could get rid of this princess for me...

the Chiyun family shall serve Your Highness as our master.

You're awake?

I feel odd.

Why did I get so sleepy just now?

I fell asleep while walking.

What happened?

Are you sure that you were sleepy?

I think that it's because of the pain.

You had no idea that when you fell asleep

you were in so much pain.

Do you know how much pain you were in?

I...

How are you feeling now?

Do you feel better?

It hurts.

It hurts so much...

Are you still going to leave me?

Wei Young.

I know that it's been hard for you to get through this period of time.

It really hasn't been easy.

From now on, I won't let you take this on alone anymore.

I'll be by your side.

I will never leave you.

You already know who I truly am.

You knew that I was using you.

I deceived you.

Why would you still be so nice to me?

I don't care about your identity.

All I know is that you're the woman I love.

Even if you're using me, I'm willing to be used by you.

Tuoba Jun, I'm not worth it.

I know deep down if you're worth it.

- But... - No buts.

Do you remember when the fake Wei Young accident occurred?

I told you then that for no reason I just believe you.

Until this day, I still believe that you're framed by Chiyun Nan.

Don't worry.

I'll find that report for you and expose Chiyun Nan.

I'll also assist your people in getting out of slavery.

Wei Young, you...

You don't trust me?

- Tuoba Jun... - Chiyun Nan is too ambitious.

If we don't get rid of him soon, he will eventually cause great damage.

Personally, he got you into such a predicament.

I can't possibly tolerate him.

No, you mustn't get involved in this.

Chiyun Nan will stoop to every means.

Once you pose a threat to him

he won't let you off even if you're the imperial grandson.

These wounds on you now are the best proof of that.

Enough said.

I know that you're worried about me, but I've already made up my mind.

Am I such a cowardly man who is afraid of danger?

Once I've exposed Chiyun Nan and cleared your father's name

I'll make two requests of my grandfather.

The first will be to ask him to bestow marriage to us.

The second will be to ask

for permission to take you and my mother away from Ping City

away from its chaos and troubles to lead a simple and happy life of our own.

Leave Ping City?

But you're His Majesty's most beloved grandson.

Are you really willing to give up your position?

My uncles have been fighting with each other over the throne.

If I have to stain my hands with blood of my kin to get to that position

how could I be interested in it?

Wei Young.

All I wish to do is spend my lifetime with you

and travel the world together.

I will do all that I can to make you happy forever.

I will cherish you more than I cherish my own life.

Why is there such a fool like you in this world?

That's why you have to promise me and believe in me

because I'm such a fool for you.

Don't push me away again.

Let us work hand in hand for our future, please.

[Prime Minister's Manor]

We've been searching for three days now.

There is still no news of them.

It will be really miraculous if they are still alive

after falling from such a high cliff.

Old Madam just can't bear to accept the truth.

Actually, I also hope that Wei Young is all right

and I do want her safe as well.

However, from a different prospective

now that Li Chang Le is no longer favored by Prime Minister

and Li Wei Young died from the fall

who could still be a match for you in the Li family?

Chang Ru, we've finally made it.

I believe that from now on, you'll surely soar high up in the ranks.

How can Mother be so sure?

What is this?

Consort Zhaoyi sent this invitation.

It was addressed to Old Madam, but I intercepted it secretly.

Consort Zhaoyi...

Isn't she Prince of Nan-An's foster mother?

Exactly.

Consort Zhaoyi's birthday is around the corner.

Since Prince of Gaoyang is still missing, she can only hold a small celebration.

Only a few ladies in Ping City are invited over for a chat.

It's obvious that she is selecting a consort for Prince of Nan-An.

I was afraid that

Old Madam would turn down the invitation as she's in a bad mood.

That's why I intercepted it.

Chang Ru.

You usually don't get to attend such occasions.

This time, you must make good use of the opportunity.

Do you understand?

Mother, don't worry.

[Prince of Nan-An's Manor]

Miss Li, please wait here.

His Highness is in the study.

Allow me to inform His Highness.

Don't bother.

I've made an appointment with His Highness.

I can go over on my own.

But...

You'd better think twice.

Our young mistress is Prince of Nan-An's prestigious guest.

If you offend my mistress, you'll have a hard time!

Yes.

Let's go.

If His Highness learns that you've made all these snacks

he will surely be very pleased.

Let's hope so.

His Highness has already acknowledged you.

You just need to make an appearance before Consort Zhaoyi

and that should seal the marriage between you and His Highness.

I'll congratulate Young Mistress first.

It won't be that soon.

Although His Highness has acknowledged me

I still can't figure out what his attitude is toward me.

Young Mistress is smart and pretty.

You're also loyal to Prince of Nan-An.

Could there be anyone else more suitable

than Young Mistress to become Princess Consort of Nan-An?

Look at you.

- We'd better hurry up. - Let's go.

Congratulations, Your Highness.

Once you have this report, you have a hold on the Chiyun family

and they can only do your bidding.

I thought that I was the only one who knows about Li Wei Young's identity.

Who knew Chiyun Nan also knows that she's the princess of Northern Liang?

Your Highness.

The tattoo on the Liang slave is confirmed as

the mark of Northern Liang's secret royal bodyguards.

I believe that Chiyun Nan must also know about it.

It's just that one of General Chiyun's terms

is to get rid of Her Ladyship.

I wonder what Your Highness intends to do.

Your Highness.

Although you admire Her Ladyship

she has rejected you atrociously several times already.

The Chiyun family has great armed forces.

They are beneficial to your ambition.

Why don't you...

Do I need you to coach me?

Forgive me, Your Highness.

Step down.

Yes.
