[The Princess Weiyoung]

[Episode 26]

Wei Young.

I really don't understand this.

Since Prince of Gaoyang likes you and you also like him

His Highness will be all the more grateful to you

if you let him know that you risked your life to save him.

Prince of Gaoyang?

It's impossible between him and me.

If he knows that I've saved him

it will just make things more complicated.

I don't want to be in his way.

Perhaps one day, I will be able to explain it to you.

Not now.

Let's go.

Wei Young!

Wei Young!

My leg...

Your Highness.

Your Highness.

I have a way to stop you from disliking me.

If you can't find Prince of Gaoyang before the sun sets

- I'll have all your heads chopped off! - Yes!

Father, don't be too worried.

Jun is highly skilled in martial arts. I believe that he will be fine.

Perhaps he strayed a bit too far

in pursuit of the animals and lost contact with us.

Jun...

Jun, you must return safely.

I was too careless.

I shouldn't have left Jun.

But I really didn't think that he would risk his life

just to hunt a white fox for Lady of District Anping.

What did you say?

Jun is now missing because he went after

the white fox for Li Wei Young?

It isn't just the white fox.

All of Li Wei Young's prey were hunted by Jun in the past two days!

No wonder she managed to defeat all the princes and officials in the hunt.

It was actually Jun who helped her?

Li Wei Young is really remarkable.

She dared to use Jun so thoroughly.

It's all her fault.

She got Jun in trouble.

Your Majesty.

You have to set things right for me.

Should anything happen to Jun, you mustn't let Li Wei Young off!

All right now!

My grandson will be just fine.

Whoever dares to spread rumors about my grandson's safety

won't be let off easily!

Miss Chang Le.

Miss Chang Le.

Your Highness.

You're awake?

How do you feel?

I'm all right.

You saved me?

Crown Princess Consort said that you went missing

so I came looking for you and accidentally fell into this trap.

Then I found you in here bitten by snakes.

Are you all right?

I'm very relieved that you're safe and sound.

I have a favor to ask of Your Highness.

I hope that you can agree to it.

You saved my life.

Whatever it is

I'll agree to it as long as it's within my abilities.

I ask nothing more of Your Highness

than to keep it a secret that I was the one who saved you.

Why?

It's because I heard that

Crown Princess Consort is selecting a consort for Your Highness.

If anyone should learn that I saved Your Highness

both of us will be pressed into marriage

by Crown Princess Consort.

I don't wish to cause trouble for you.

I know that I'm not the one Your Highness is in love with.

Or wishes to marry.

However, I have affection for you and wish for you to be happy.

Therefore, please rest assured that once we leave this place

I won't say a word to anyone about what happened in here.

This will be kept a secret for life.

- Miss Chang Le... - Don't feel bad about it, Your Highness.

This encounter is also the happiest memory of my life.

I'm already content to be with Your Highness

to care for you, keep you company

and overcome this difficult situation.

I just hope that Your Highness won't be annoyed at me anymore.

Don't dislike me.

Prince of Gaoyang!

Your Highness!

Prince of Gaoyang!

Someone has come looking for you.

Please allow me to leave first.

I don't wish for anyone else to see us together.

Miss Chang Le.

Thank you.

Wei Young.

You finally woke up.

Where is His Highness?

Slowly.

On our way back, I sent someone in his direction.

They should have found him by now.

Don't worry.

I didn't say a word about it.

No one will know that you saved him.

Wei Young, you were lucky this time.

If you dare to overlook your own safety again

let's see if I will still save you.

Thank you, Min De.

Young Mistress!

You scared me to death!

Luckily, you're all right.

If not, I will kill myself as well!

Look at you. You're crying again.

Look, do I not look all right?

Young Mistress.

I have failed to protect you.

Please punish me.

How can I blame you?

I was the careless one.

I'm all right now.

Stop blaming yourself.

Young Mistress, Prince of Gaoyang has been rescued.

The imperial physician is attending to him, so he should be fine.

By the way, Young Mistress, In celebration of catching the white fox

and the safe return of Prince of Gaoyang

His Majesty invited all the officials to a banquet.

It must be so much fun.

Only officials and nobles are invited, but not female family members?

Female family members aren't invited to the banquet.

That's another chance gone for seeking audience with His Majesty.

Young Mistress!

Young Mistress, where have you been?

I've been so worried!

Answer me.

In that trap, did you see anyone else besides Li Wei Young?

No.

Did you see clearly then?

If you dare lie to me...

Young Mistress!

Please forgive me, Young Mistress.

I was too scared to take a good look.

Forget it.

It was a stroke of luck in this mishap.

Get up.

Young Mistress.

Did something good happen?

Young Mistress seems very happy.

Indeed.

Get me some water to freshen up and I'll tell you about it slowly.

Then I need you to do a few things for me.

Yes.

Imperial Physician, is Prince of Gaoyang all right?

Don't worry, Your Highness.

After a good night's rest, His Highness has recovered.

You are dismissed.

Yes, Your Majesty.

This is great.

What on earth happened?

First Di and then Jun were injured.

Hunting is a dangerous sport anyway.

Luckily, we were only mildly hurt.

You shouldn't be too worried, Sister-in-law.

I'm sorry to have worried Grandfather and Mother.

Get up.

You failed to prevent Prince of Gaoyang from falling into the trap.

You didn't stay by his side at such a crucial time.

Why would he still need a bodyguard?

I have failed in my duty.

Please punish me, Your Majesty.

Please don't be angry, Grandfather.

I ordered Cheng De not to come along.

He shouldn't be blamed for it.

I'll spare that head of yours this time.

Step out.

Thank you, Your Majesty.

Father.

This is actually my fault as well.

But fortunately, Jun is safe and sound.

Jun.

Do you blame me for this?

Uncle, you've overstated.

Are we to just take this lightly because Jun returned safely?

If it hadn't been for His Majesty's blessings and Jun's good luck

he might have been...

Your Majesty, you were also hunting today.

Who knew that there would be a trap?

It's fine that Jun was the one who fell into it

but what if it had been Your Majesty?

I think that this is no laughing matter.

Your Majesty, do look into this matter.

Zong Ai.

Convey my orders.

Investigate this accident thoroughly.

Yes.

Jun, get some rest.

I'm hosting a banquet tonight to calm your nerves.

Your two uncles and the officials will be present.

Thank you, Grandfather.

Let's go.

Take care, Your Majesty.

Mother.

I heard that you got into this accident

because you were hunting the white fox for Li Wei Young.

Where did Mother hear such gossip from?

This has nothing to do with Wei Young.

Don't lie to me!

I had it all investigated.

You have really let me down.

You'd actually risk your life for the sake of a woman?

Should anything happen to you, what would you have me do?

Mother.

This was just an accident.

Wei Young doesn't even know about this.

Don't blame her for it, Mother.

She's not what you think she is.

She's really lovely. Truly lovely.

She's definitely worth risking my life for.

How good could she be?

If she is that good

shouldn't she be here to visit you by now?

All she does is confuse you and have you make sacrifices for her.

What has she done for you?

Jun... Mark my words.

Stop thinking about her.

She's not worth your efforts.

I will find you a better spouse.

Thank you for your concern, Mother.

But no one can replace Wei Young in my heart.

Crown Princess Consort seems to suspect me.

Father has given orders to investigate this matter.

Will he find out about me?

Don't worry, Your Highness.

I have had the entire plan arranged to perfection.

Your Highness won't be implicated.

This won't do.

Just in case, anyone who is involved in this plan must be silenced.

Yes.

If you still can't handle this matter well enough this time

you'll disappear along with them.

Do you hear me?

Yes, I do.

General.

This Liang slave refuses to say a word.

What should we do with him?

Keep him here with us first.

Li Wei Young has the report.

This can't be delayed any further.

His Majesty is hosting a banquet for officials

so most of the security will be shifted.

Make use of this opportunity to assassinate Li Wei Young!

Take back the report.

Jun Tao, what should we do?

Young Mistress is nowhere to be found.

Is she be danger?

My dear subjects!

Drink up!

Father, I'd like to drink a toast to congratulate you

for catching the white fox.

Father excels in both civil and military skills.

You're respected and feared by all!

Congratulations, Your Majesty!

Long live the emperor!

My dear subjects, drink up!

This is a toast to Prince of Gaoyang!

Jun, it's a great joy to have you back safe and sound.

Thank you, Uncle.

Good!

I'm very comforted to see both uncle and nephew get along so well.

Here, my dear subjects!

Let's all drink!

I have to go piss. Stay alert.

Go on. Be quick!

Listen up....

Listen up...

- What? - Listen up...

What did you say?

The report...

What report?

Where is the report?

Your Majesty, what do you think of this wine ritual dance?

It's very good. Very good!

Who are you?

Who sent you here?

Do you not fear death?

Jun Tao...

What should we do now?

Bai Zhi, keep an eye on him. I'll look for Young Mistress.

Hold it.

Jun Tao, I'm scared.

What's so scary? Just hack him to death if he moves.

Prime Minister Li, your daughter Lady of District Anping won the hunt.

I really hadn't expected your daughter

to be well learned academically and physically.

It's too flattering, Your Majesty

The princes and generals are too kind.

They didn't let her win on purpose, but someone did help her with it.

Have our men sent any news back?

No.

Your Majesty, at the risk of my life, I have a matter to report to you.

- Wei Young? - How atrocious!

How dare you alarm His Majesty?

Please allow me to finish my story.

Back when General Chiyun Nan was stationed in Liang Region

he discovered an iron...

Assassin!

There's an assassin!

- Protect His Majesty! - Come!

Protect His Majesty!

Quickly!

Father! I'll escort you to your tent.

Catch him!

Get on the horse!

Catch them!

Stop right there!

Stop!

Go after them!

- Uncle Ming! - Father!

Go after them!

Quickly! Catch them!

Go after them!

Quickly!

We won't be able to get away.

Young Mistress.

I can't let you get caught by the Chiyuns.

We have to find a way to get back.

They still don't know that

the masked person is Lady of District Anping.

The safest plan now is to head back or we'll fall into their hands soon.

Yes!

Young Mistress.

Who is this man?

He came to assassinate you, but Jun Tao took him down.

The assassin is in there!

Go in!

General Chiyun.

You're not to trespass.

It seems that Your Highness is trying to protect the assassin.

I can swear upon my life that it isn't an assassin you are after.

Your Highness can say that again after I've arrested the assassin.

Surround the tent!

Kill anyone who tries to leave!

- Yes! - Yes!

Chiyun Nan!

Wei Young...

Summon the imperial physician.

Yes!

What happened, Wei Young?

Guards!

Arrest the assassin!

No one is allowed to move!

The assassin is over there.

Move it!

Who are you?

Who sent you here?

Since the assassin has taken his life, please leave now, General Chiyun.

Don't prevent Her Ladyship from recuperating.

May I ask where Her Ladyship is wounded?

It's on my left shoulder.

That assassin was shot in the left shoulder.

Why would Lady of District Anping be wounded at the same time?

let alone in the exact same shoulder as the assassin?

Your Highness.

Could there be such a coincidence?

Can Your Ladyship explain it?

It was just a while ago that he barged into my tent

and stabbed me in my shoulder with a knife.

Fortunately, Jun Tao arrived in time to take him down.

Who are you trying to fool?

If General won't believe me, you can examine my wound.

Wounds caused by an arrow or a knife should be easily distinguished.

Summon the imperial physician to examine the wound.

How is it?

Your Highness.

The wound is wide and then narrow.

It was caused by a sharp blade.

That's impossible.

General.

I can still distinguish a wound caused by an arrow or a knife.

Thank you, Imperial Physician Liu.

How is Her Ladyship's injury?

Your Highness, I have already applied medication to her wounds.

Her Ladyship is fine now.

This way, please.

Thank you, Your Highness.

Her Ladyship needs to rest.

Unrelated personnel should leave.

General Chiyun.

Arresting the assassin is the priority.

After you.

- Was Her Ladyship here all evening? - Yes.

Her Ladyship said that she was tired, so she stayed in the tent to rest.

Take good care of your mistress.

Inform me right away should anything come up.

Yes.

Young Mistress, they have left.

Fortunately, Young Mistress is smart and turned the crisis around.

Young Mistress, what's the matter?

Why are you hurt?

What is going on?

There's no time to explain it to you.

Chiyun Nan already has plans to kill me.

Bai Zhi.

If you regard me as your sister, put on an act with me later.

If not, when Chiyun Nan barges in

I'd rather that you get a reward from him for turning me in.

What are you talking about?

Young Mistress saved my life once.

I will always serve you.

Jun Tao, the knife.

Right here.

I...

When Chiyun Nan gets here

he will surely have me killed after checking the wound.

I have to sabotage the shape of the wound.

Young Mistress, I really can't do it.

Hurry up!

This will only win us some time because Chiyun Nan won't ever give up.

Young Mistress!

I'll bring you some hot water.

Jun Tao...

I'm sorry.

I got your father killed.

Your Highness...

I've lost my father.

I'll never see him again.

Li Wei Young...

You're indeed a worthy opponent.

Unfortunately, your trick is only good enough to fool the others, not me.

You are the princess of Northern Liang.

General.

Have you retrieved it?

Not yet.

What use are you to me?

Father...

I'm so unfilial.

I couldn't protect you.

I'll bury you now to rest in peace.

Who is it?

There's actually an ambush.

It seems that Chiyun Nan is going to use my father's body

to lure us out and expose our identities.

Prince of Nan-An?

His Highness sent me here to check on the assassin's identity.

How can you leave a corpse out here?

- Aren't you scared of the plague? - Who are you?

You! Come with me to bury the body.

What are you waiting for?

Would you like His Majesty and officials to be infected by plague?

Cheng An!

Come and help me!

Prince of Gaoyang will bury you.

I'll find a chance to kill Chiyun Nan to avenge you.

I failed to prevent the assassins from approaching Your Majesty.

Do punish me, Your Majesty.

General Chiyun discovered the assassin in time

so that's already a first-class merit.

How could I blame you?

Please rise.

Thank you, Your Majesty.

Any news of the assassin?

One other assassin is on the run.

I'll continue pursuing him to track down all the assassins.

That's not necessary.

Father.

I've already tracked down the assassin.

This is the assassin?

Exactly.

Your Majesty.

It's difficult to confirm that with just the corpse.

Please allow me to further investigate.

Prince of Nan-An.

How can you be sure that this was the assassin?

Bring in the dancer.

Greetings to Your Majesty.

Do you recognize the deceased?

I do.

She performed the dance along with us for His Majesty last night.

Do you recognize this outfit and accessories?

I do.

This outfit was worn by the deceased during the dance.

Nonsense!

I wouldn't dare to lie.

I'm telling the truth!

Every dancer had a mask on.

How could you be sure that she was the same dancer from last night?

This...

The outfit can be stolen, but the wound...

That can't be faked, can it?

I've already had the body examined.

The wound on her left shoulder is identical

to where the assassin was shot.

I got this from the body.

General Chiyun.

This is your family crest.

This can't be wrong.

How is that possible?

I've also found something on the corpse

that can prove the deceased to be the assassin.

Your Majesty.

I remember this satin handkerchief.

That assassin was going to submit something to me.

It was wrapped in this satin handkerchief.

Your Majesty.

Even if this was the assassin

I'm afraid that her accomplices might still be hidden in the campsite.

Please give me some more time.

I'll be sure to round up all the assassins.

Father.

All the officials are worn out from days of hunting.

Now that such an accident occurred, everyone is tired and stressed out.

If we were to linger

I'm afraid that it will cause a panic.

State affairs will also be further held up.

Moreover, the assassin is already executed.

There really isn't the need to make a fuss over it.

Prince of Nan-An has a point.

I'll leave you in charge of wrapping up this matter.

Today, we will head back to the palace.

Bai Zhi.

Wei Young is injured.

Do pay more attention to her these days.

Don't worry, Miss Chang Ru.

I'll surely take good care of my mistress.

I wonder why there is always trouble wherever Wei Young goes.

Could it be that Wei Young really is a jinx?

Those are just accidents.

You're all here?

Greetings to Prince of Gaoyang.

Don't stand on ceremony.

Your Highness, are you feeling better?

I'm already much better.

Thank you for asking.

Since Your Highness is well, I feel relieved.

How are you?

I'm all right. It's just a mild headache.

You should still see a doctor for it.

I'll send Imperial Physician Liu over.

Thank you, Your Highness.

Chang Le.

We'd better get going.

Let's not disturb His Highness.

Your Highness. We'll take our leave now.

Pardon me, Your Highness.

My mistress is already asleep.

Please head back, Your Highness.

If so, I won't disturb her.

I'll check on her later.

By the way

tell her that I have already buried the assassin from the banquet.

What is between you and Prince of Gaoyang?

I think that His Highness seems to be very concerned about you.

Don't go asking questions about what you shouldn't.

Prince of Gaoyang...

It's him again.

I really had no choice but to watch as his men buried that body.

It seems that he's all out to protect Li Wei Young

and go against me.

General.

Prince of Nan-An seems to be interested in the assassin as well.

He had the body examined.

Prince of Nan-An...

He's indeed not to be underestimated.

You're still troubled over the assassin?

I was just about to get something on Li Wei Young

but it has all been a waste.

Why is that?

It's all because of your beloved Prince of Gaoyang.

If it weren't for him

Li Wei Young would have been killed many times over.

Li Wei Young bewitched Prince of Gaoyang.

It's all because she's very crafty.

You mustn't underestimate her.

I didn't think much of her

and she set me up time after time.

If you wish to deal with her

I think that it's best to make a thorough plan.

Chang Le.

I'm truly surprised by your improvement.

Know shame in order to become brave.

I'll never forget the humiliation that Li Wei Young brought me.

Do you have ways to deal with her?

She survived the previous attempts on her life

because Prince of Gaoyang came to her aid.

On the journey back from the hunting grounds

Prince of Gaoyang will escort His Majesty and leave earlier.

That is the best opportunity to strike.

- You are... - What is it?

You don't recognize me anymore?

Your Highness?

I was unaware of Your Highness's true identity and offended you.

I deserve to be killed for it.

Those who are ignorant shouldn't be blamed.

Get up.

Thank you, Your Highness.

Are you all right, Princess?

I'm fine now.

That day...

Thank you for saving me.

Back then...

I'm really sorry about that.

I really didn't know that you're a woman.

I always thought that you were a man.

Hence, I've offended you in many ways.

Even in an emergency, I ripped your clothes.

- I... - Li Min De!

I dare you to mention that again!

How is she anything like a woman?

Wei Young!

Min De.

Have you met the princess?

I did.

Who knew that she's actually a woman?

I was really shocked.

But then, she doesn't have the airs of a princess at all.

She kept saying that she regards you as her friend.

A friend?

You would believe such nonsense?

All this time

she dressed up as a man and had us all fooled.

I actually think that she harbors no ill intention.

She might just be playful.

Fine, fine! Stop talking about her.

How is your injury?

It's much better already.

Whoever tried to assassinate you must have been sent by Chiyun Nan.

What's frustrating is that I can't do anything about him now.

Min De.

I really hope that you won't get involved in this.

I'll look out for myself.

You should just focus on your duty as an imperial guard.

That will be the best you can do for your mother. Understood?

Why would you bring that up?

Wei Young. You're my only family in this world.

How could I not care for you?

Min De.

That's enough said.

By the way, I've already asked His Majesty

to have me escort the family members of the officials back to the city.

From now on, I won't leave your side.

Chiyun Nan...

You'll have to give in to me now that I have this evidence.

You will have to work for me.

Your Highness.

I noticed a tattoo on that assassin.

I wonder if it has to do with his true identity.

Secret bodyguard of Northern Liang's royal family?

If the Liang slave is a secret bodyguard of Northern Liang

that makes Li Wei Young...

Your Highness.

That assassin sneaked into Lady of District Anping's tent

and stabbed Her Ladyship.

I'm afraid it isn't that simple.
