[The Princess Weiyoung]

[Episode 21]

What did you say? Say it again.

I heard that Imperial Guard Li was assassinated.

He's dead.

That can't be true...

He's so skilled in martial arts.

He's so tough.

Who could possibly kill him?

That can't be true... it can't be true!

Your Highness! Your Highness!

Princess!

Jun! Jun!

- Jun! - What is it, Aunt Di?

Tell me quickly if it's true that Li Min De had an accident?

I was also just informed of that.

I've sent my men to search for him.

Sent more men. I... I'll join the search as well.

Aunt Di, Li Min De had an accident thousands of miles from here.

What good is it to go there now?

All right now. Just stay here in the palace.

I'm heading over to the Prime Minister's. I'll keep you posted.

I'll come with you!

Young Mistress, Third Madam becomes weaker and weaker.

All that she has on her mind is to see Second Young Master one last time.

She's so pitiful.

I don't believe that Min De is dead.

He's always been wary of Madam Li.

He could surely overcome the dangers and come home soon.

Someone in the family is ill.

I'm afraid that Your Highness will be infected

so I don't dare have Your Highness linger.

Who is ill? Wei Young?

It isn't my daughter.

It's my third sister-in-law.

We have already hired a doctor.

Isn't that Imperial Guard Li's mother?

Exactly.

Prime Minister, worry not.

I have sent my men to search for him.

I'm sure that we'll receive some news soon.

Thank you for your concern, Your Highness.

I'll take my leave.

Father.

Jun, I just remembered there's something I need to take care of.

You can head home.

Greetings to Your Highness.

Don't stand on ceremony. I'm here to visit Third Madam.

Madam?

His Highness is here to see you.

Do lie down, Madam.

Don't be so polite.

Your Highness.

How could I trouble you to visit me?

Your Highness, I'm very sick.

Your Highness shouldn't linger.

Third Madam, you're too polite.

Li Min De and I are actually friends.

Before Min De set out on his trip

I promised him I would look after his family.

But I failed to keep my word.

I'm sorry.

Your Highness, please don't say that.

You're too kind.

Third Madam.

Jun and I have already sent our men to search for Li Min De.

He will surely make it home.

Third Madam, you must hang in there.

Thank you, Your Highness.

Now that Min De has a bosom buddy like Your Highness...

I can die without any regrets.

Your Highness, don't panic.

I believe that Min De will surely...

He will make it home safely.

Yes.

You're still here, Your Highness?

How could I leave without seeing you?

However, I'm even more worried now that I see you.

Wei Young, you've lost weight.

Exactly. Young Mistress has been looking after Third Madam

around the clock and she's worried about Second Young Master.

She can't eat or sleep well.

How could she not lose weight?

I'm worried that my mistress will get sick if this goes on much longer.

- Bai Zhi! - Don't scold her.

She's just concerned about you...

Just like I am.

Wei Young, if I could

I'd change places with your Third Aunt

and your cousin.

Then you wouldn't be so worried.

You mustn't say that!

Do you worry about me as well?

Bai Zhi.

I know that you truly care about Wei Young.

When Wei Young is upset she ends up acting willfully.

But you can't allow her to do that.

Remind her to get some rest and have her meals when she should.

Nag her once, if not twice. Keep nagging and nagging

until she's fed up with it and willing to heed your advice.

Yes.

She might throw a temper tantrum when she's annoyed

but at times like that you should just put up with it.

There aren't many people that she trusts enough

to throw a temper tantrum in front of.

Don't worry, Your Highness.

I know what to do.

Come to me for help anytime.

You could reach me anytime.

Yes.

As long as you need me I will always be here for you.

Why are you so kind to me?

Do you know that the nicer you are to me the more upset it makes me?

Do you blame me for being so unfeeling?

If I could, I'd love for you to know that you're always on my mind.

But you will never ever know that.

Li Min De, are you purposely hiding from me?

Once I find you, I'll have you shot into a sieve.

Li Min De, get back here!

I command you to be safe and sound!

Get back here quickly!

Princess!

Princess, what is the matter?

Why are you bleeding so badly?

Your Highness, don't cry...

Have some food.

You've been practicing all day.

Don't be upset, Your Highness.

Your Highness...

Li Min De, where on earth are you?

Li Min De...

Your Highness...

You saved me?

Young Lord, who have you offended?

Why would they do this to you?

I'm grateful to you for saving my life, but my affairs are no concern of yours.

I'm not your young lord either.

You have the wrong person.

Young Lord, you're in grave danger.

It's best to come with me.

The khan has been waiting for you.

Please open the door for me.

Young Lord, do reconsider.

This gentleman...

Young Master, you're finally awake!

You nearly scared me to death!

Young Master, don't move!

Your wound just healed.

Ping An, you're all right?

I'm fine. We were really lucky to be rescued by that man.

But that man is really weird.

He didn't even utter a word.

Ping An.

Something is terribly fishy about this attack on us.

I suspect that there must be deep trouble brewing at home.

This won't do...

We have to rush home.

Bring me my clothes.

Yes!

Second Young Master is home!

[Prime Minister's Manor]

- Second Young Master. - Is something wrong?

It's... Third Madam passed away. My condolences, Young Master.

What did you say?

[Mrs. Zhou]

Min De...

Min De?

Mother...

Your son has come home.

Why did you leave before I came home?

I'm so unfilial...

I'm so unfilial...

I'm so unfilial...

Min De...

Min De, we all thought that you had an accident.

If only you could have gotten home sooner

you'd have been able to see your mother one last time.

I'm so unfilial.

Help Second Young Master up.

I'm so unfilial...

I'm so unfilial...

- I'm so unfilial... - Look at him...

I'm so unfilial.

Let's go, Old Madam.

Min De...

Get out!

Blame me if you must.

I have failed you.

I failed to take care of Third Aunt.

Please pull yourself together.

Third Aunt can't rest in peace if she sees you behaving like this.

Leave now.

Get out! Out!

Fools!

A bunch of idiots!

There were so many of them and they couldn't even get rid of Li Min De?

Now that Li Min De has returned home

I'm afraid that he will do everything he can to deal with Madam

once he finds out that it was Madam who caused Third Madam's death.

By then, Li Wei Young will have another aide.

Who cares if they team up?

I have the entire Chiyun family to back me up.

Why should I fear a mere lady of a district?

They ruined my son and daughter.

I will never let them off!

Min De...

You just woke up and you're still injured.

If you keep this up, your body won't be able to take it.

Have some food.

You can leave.

Don't worry, Young Mistress.

It's just hard for him to take it all in now.

He will get better in time.

I'll stay here with you.

Li Min De, my sincere condolences.

I know that you're very sad, but you have to take care of yourself.

Otherwise, Third Madam won't rest in peace either.

Thank you, Your Highness.

Your Highness is of noble blood.

You don't have to do this.

Please leave.

I'm glad that you got home safely.

Do you know how worried I was about you?

Li Min De? Li Min De!

Is anyone out there?

- Li Min De! - Young Master!

Get a doctor!

Doctor!

Li Min De, wake up!

Second Young Mistress!

What is it that is so urgent?

Young Master has fainted. I'm going to get a doctor.

Wei Young?

What is Your Highness doing here?

Are you surprised to see me?

I just returned from attending to a state affair

and I came to visit you.

Visit me?

Who am I to deserve that?

Li Wei Young, you're a smart woman.

Why bother acting ignorant?

Have you forgotten what I said to you?

If you choose to side with a powerful man

will those people still dare to get in your way?

It seems that you remember it now.

You were referring to yourself

when you mentioned choosing a powerful man?

I could ask Prime Minister directly for your hand.

I believe that he won't turn me down.

It's just that I do admire you so I hope that you will consent to it.

It's just that I never wanted to play up to the nobility.

It seems that you now have the advantage in the manor.

However, the influence of a powerful man lingers after his downfall.

You fight the battle alone. Will you have the last laugh?

Should you have a change of heart, I can guarantee you a secure life.

I have all the patience in the world.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Young Mistress.

Has Prince of Nan-An fallen for Miss Wei Young?

What about you?

Fret not.

From what I know about him all he cares about is the throne.

He's never cared much about romance.

Why would he want to marry Miss Wei Young?

His Highness must think that Li Wei Young would be useful to him.

Wei Young's disaster relief plan that won His Majesty's compliments

was enough to spark His Highness's interest in her.

I was too careless.

Young Mistress! Young Mistress!

Young Mistress!

Luckily, Miss Wei Young has no interest in Prince of Nan-An.

But it can't be good if this carries on.

What are you to do if His Highness falls for someone else?

You made such a huge effort for His Highness.

Why didn't he notice?

I have to let His Highness see that I'm much more useful than Li Wei Young.

I'm more suitable than anyone to become his woman.

Can you not feel less pain in your dreams?

Don't worry, I'll stay by your side.

Stop it!

Stop it!

- Hurry up! - Slacking off?

I'll beat you to death for slacking off!

Hurry up!

Stop it, sir!

Get up!

You're slacking off?

These slaves of Liang are such scum!

I have to beat you.

Listen up!

Anyone dares to slack off again...

Take a look! This is how you will end up!

Get up! Get up!

What are you doing? Are you going to rebel?

What are you doing?

Is this a rebellion?

- Do you want to die? - Are you going against me?

You wouldn't dare.

All right, get back to work!

- Get back to work! - Thank you.

Get back to work!

We'd end up dead anyway.

We might as well go all out.

Don't be reckless.

Let's plan this carefully.

Hurry up!

Hurry up. Harder!

Hurry up! Quickly!

[Prince of Dongping's Manor]

Your Highness.

Here, have a clementine.

Your Highness.

Have some wine, Your Highness.

Your Highness.

Have you had any news of the mine?

You may all be dismissed!

Yes.

Your Highness, I have investigated thoroughly.

This mine is indeed a silver mine.

A silver mine?

That's great!

Who else knows about this?

Just a few of our own men.

We're awaiting your orders.

The current political trend is unclear.

If Your Highness could hold on to this silver mine

you could easily have an advantage.

Father...

You only favor Tuoba Jun?

If I could hold the financial power within my hands

who wouldn't pledge allegiance to me?

There are hundreds of Liang slaves in this mine now.

If they let slip that I excavated the mine

Father would surely punish me severely when he finds out about it.

I have a plan.

What don't we take care of those Liang slaves...

Do be very careful about it.

No one can know about it.

Don't worry, Your Highness.

I know what to do.

Come here! Look!

I just received information that there's a sentry here

that is patrolled secretly by guards of Wei.

We've never noticed this sentry.

Bad news!

This is really bad news!

Speak up quickly! What is it?

I just overheard a soldier saying that they are going to kill us all!

- What? - This is...

What should we do?

What should we do?

We can't wait any longer.

We have to carry out our plan early.

Who is willing to break out of here with me?

- I am! - I am!

- Me! - And me!

What is going on inside?

The four of you! Take a look.

- Yes! - Let's go!

Let's go!

We're free!

Even if we die, at least we can die in our own hometown!

We'd rather die in our own hometown!

Fight our way out!

Your Highness, those Liang slaves have killed the guards and fled.

It's all going as planned.

You have thought it out so well.

It would look highly suspicious

is such a huge number of Liang slaves died in one night.

Now that they have fled from the mine

it is justified to have them arrested and killed!

Those foolish Liang slaves.

Never would they think that they could escape so easily

because Your Highness deliberately set them free.

Execute them all after they are captured!

Young Mistress, wash your hands.

Bai Zhi, how is Min De doing today?

He's still drinking himself senseless every day.

It's already been more than a month now.

It seems that Second Young Master is still grieving.

Third Aunt was his only family.

Now that she is gone...

And he didn't get to say goodbye.

Moreover, he felt that

Third Aunt deteriorated even faster because she was worried about him.

He blames himself for her death.

It won't do. I have to check on him.

This mustn't go on any longer.

Young Master, stop drinking!

Get lost!

Young Master, you have to stop drinking!

Get lost!

Scram!

Young Master...

Your Highness, please try to talk some sense into my master.

Your Highness...

Stop drinking!

Li Min De...

I know that you're very upset but you can't treat yourself so poorly.

If your mother knew about this she would surely feel bad for you!

My mother is no longer around.

No one cares about me anymore.

You still have me.

I care about you.

I mean... In this world

it wasn't just your mother who cared about you. I do too.

There's also your cousin, Wei Young and everyone in the Li family.

Many people care about you.

They don't want to see you behaving like this.

Leave me alone!

I dare you to drink!

Go away!

Young Master!

Wei Young, stop him!

Stop him from drinking!

Is anyone there?

- Present! - Present!

Grab him!

What are you doing?

Let go of me!

Li Min De...

Are you sober now?

Why would you make me sober?

Why won't you let me drink?

Don't you know that I only feel better when I'm drunk?

You might feel better, but what about Third Aunt?

How would she feel seeing you like this?

You should know that Third Aunt would never want to see you drunk all day

doing nothing and feeling helpless about yourself, Min De.

My mother is already dead.

Third Aunt wanted you to do well.

It wasn't for her sake but for yours.

She wanted you to be a righteous young man

who would live out your days in honor and pride.

Exactly!

Li Min De.

You have to get back on your feet.

Pull myself together?

What good is that?

In the end I couldn't even protect my family.

I'm so useless!

- Li Min De! - I'm so useless...

Li Min De!

Young Master!

Since that is what you think, you might as well take your own life

rather than be frowned on by others.

Li Wei Young, what are you doing?

Your Highness! Don't interfere with our family affairs!

- But... - Miss Wei Young, you mustn't!

Don't panic.

My mistress knows what she's doing.

If you are in great agony, just let yourself go and cry.

Don't keep it in.

Madam.

I asked about Imperial Physician Shen.

What happened to him?

He retired and returned to his hometown.

However, before he left

he was determined enough to chop off two of his fingers.

He is a doctor.

How could he take a pulse with two fingers missing?

Master was already being lenient if he managed to stay alive.

By the way, how is your injury?

Thank you for asking, Madam.

I'm fine now.

Madam.

Miss Chang Le is still in the village.

Should I try to send someone to attend to her?

Don't bother.

She was sent there by Master.

She has no maid of her own and no money on her.

She might get bullied as days go on.

Miss Chang Le was raised to be waited on.

How can she put up with such hardships?

She lost to Li Wei Young again and again.

That's because she had such an easy life.

She couldn't handle any setback.

Therefore, she acts too impulsively.

Now, I want her to suffer and endure all sorts of torment.

I need to break her spirit and wear down her arrogance.

The suffering that she goes through now...

She will cherish the experience when she gets back on her feet.

She will become more cautious.

But Madam, how can you bear it?

I have to even if I can't!

Now that I don't have much longer to live...

She will be on her own in the future.

Madam...

Is anyone here?

I need a bath!

I need to get changed.

Go and get it prepared!

Darn servant!

I'm talking to you! How dare you pretend not to hear me?

Servant?

I might be a servant, but you...

You're a servant as well now.

Orders were already given.

You're the family's servant now.

Do you think that you're still a young mistress?

You...

- What are you doing? - Draw your own bath if you want one!

Darn servant!

I'll have you caned to death when I get home!

Tan Xiang! Tan Xiang!

Mother.

I don't want to know my true identity.

All I know is that you raised me

cared about me, and taught me right from wrong.

I'm content to have you as my mother.

Min De.

Whatever you want to do, I'll always support you.

To me, nothing matters more than your happiness.

Do you know that?

Wei Young...

My mother's death... There's more to it, isn't there?

Don't bother lying to me.

I already figured it out.

Chiyun Rou must have something to do with my mother's death.

Not only that...

I suspect that she is behind the attempt on my life.

Min De.

Once the mourning period is over...

you should suggest splitting the family assets.

Leave this chaotic place and live your life in ease somewhere else.

That was Third Aunt's last wish.

Wei Young...

If you were me... And your family was killed

would you choose to cower and let your enemies go free?

It's not like that.

Would you?

I wouldn't.

That's all I needed to hear.

Wei Young.

From now on...

you're the only one I can trust.

What?

They won't let you out?

They said that Master has given orders.

Li Xiao Ran...

How could you be so ruthless?

Chun Ming.

Go and set free the pigeon under the corridor.

- Hurry! - Yes!

Whatever happens, I have to get rid of Li Wei Young!

No one can stop me!

Young Lord.

You are here.

Has Young Lord summoned me to head home with me?

I won't leave this place.

Zhou Xue Mei is already...

Your foster mother already passed away.

What else is there in the Li family that you are still attached to?

That is none of your concern.

Khan has missed you terribly.

Who abandoned me in the first place?

Khan had his reasons...

All right, that's enough.

I summoned you here today to ask you if you would do me a favor.

You...

What is it you would have me do?

[Prime Minister's Manor]

Assassins! Assassins!

Help! Catch the assassins!

Assassins! Help!

Retreat!

- Don't run! - Go after them!

Stop right there!

Hurry up!

Chun Ming.

Chun Ming?

Chun Ming?

Who are you?
