[The Princess Weiyoung]

[Episode 16]

Min Feng is already dead.

Even if you frame Wei Young

it won't bring Min Feng back to life.

Wei Young is the only one who can bring glory to the Li family now.

I won't let you have it your way!

Madam!

Madam.

- Madam. - Madam.

Madam, are you all right?

Master...

I know that you don't believe me.

But I'm now hanging by a thread.

Do you still doubt me?

Indeed...

I might be arrogant and domineering.

But your daughter is no weakling that can be easily bullied.

She and I have had quite a few conflicts.

Ask yourself.

Could she possibly not dislike or hate me?

Will she not harm me?

Now this is no trivial matter.

This concerns the lives of everyone in the Li family.

Would I not know how serious this is?

Now she has resorted to using the witchcraft banned by His Majesty

in order to deal with me.

Do you still expect her to bring glory to the family?

Not only will she not bring us glory

but she will also cause the Li family to be totally wiped out! Master!

Master!

Madam.

Madam...

Li Wei Young, we found this wooden figurine in your room.

What excuses do you still have?

Mother has treated you well.

You actually wish to murder her?

I've figured it out now.

You first came up with a way to get your birth mother

the title of an honorary third-rank lady

and then you thought of a way to kill my mother.

Then you can make Seventh Concubine take the legal wife position.

That will make you a legitimate child.

From then on, your life is smooth sailing.

Isn't that so?

Grandmother.

Father.

Even if this little wooden figurine was found in my room

it doesn't necessarily mean that I'm the true culprit.

It's obvious that someone is trying to set me up.

Besides, this isn't the first or second time this has happened to me.

There is still much to be questioned in this incident.

It's best not to judge so quickly.

Grandmother.

Now that there is already concrete proof

do you still intend to speak up for Wei Young?

Who could frame her?

Who would want to frame her?

I get it now.

You mean to imply that we're framing you?

Li Wei Young.

Who do you think you are?

It's not worth risking my mother's life to frame you.

You're just making excuses.

Old Madam.

I don't think that Wei Young is that sort of person.

Third Aunt!

Are you going to vouch for Wei Young?

- I... - Third Aunt.

Father.

Please give me some more time.

I will surely have this investigated.

Anyone there?

Take Second Young Mistress back to Junlan Quarters.

Seal the doors to her quarters.

No one is allowed to enter or leave.

Moreover, about whatever happened tonight

should anyone reveal one word of it, you're going against the Li family.

Yes!

Don't worry.

A clean hand needs no washing.

Take me away as well.

Be it in life or death, I want to be with my mistress.

So do I!

Father.

Whatever the truth might be, it has nothing to do with my mother.

She shouldn't be locked up.

Brother-in-law.

You also know that Seventh Concubine is timid and cautious.

She could never play a part in this.

Just do as Wei Young suggests.

Let Seventh Concubine stay with me for the time being.

Once the truth is out, we'll let Wei Young have her back.

Is that all right?

Third Aunt.

I'll leave my mother in your care.

Wei Young.

This is all I can do to help you.

Thank you, Third Aunt.

Close the door.

Keep an close watch on her.

Allow no one in.

Should anything go wrong, your lives will be forfeit.

Yes.

Chiyun Rou went to such lengths to harm me.

I've already been wary of her and yet she still managed to get me.

When will such days of malicious scheming ever end?

This medication can cure poison.

It's best to keep it on for a day.

How I hope that I could face you honestly without this disguise.

[Fuan Quarters]

Recently in Li Manor

it's seriously

A series of unfortunate events.

One after another.

Mother, don't worry.

I'll take care of this.

How do you intend to handle it?

I... I suspected Rou.

But then judging from her words, it seems that she has nothing to do with it.

I also believe that she wouldn't be so foolish as to harm her own health.

But I also believe that

Wei Young wouldn't go as far as to commit such a sinful crime.

But Rou has tried to harm Wei Young several times.

Would Wei Young truly be so forgiving?

You can never tell one's mind.

Besides, that evil object was indeed discovered in Wei Young's room.

There is solid evidence.

We have no choice but to believe so.

I hope that you will have this investigated thoroughly.

Don't let her be wronged again.

I understand.

Mother.

How did you put the wooden figurine in Li Wei Young's room?

This time, we owe it to Hong Luo.

Hong Luo?

Madam.

Hong Luo, you've done well this time.

I wouldn't dare take credit for it.

The Li Wei Young disguise failed terribly last time.

I still have to thank Madam for giving me a chance to redeem myself.

There's one more matter to report to Madam Li.

In Li Wei Young's box

where the wooden figurine was found wrapped in cloth

there was actually a man's fan as well.

I saw with my own eyes that Li Wei Young cherishes it greatly.

It must be special to her.

Where is that fan now?

Do you have it?

When I was putting the figurine in, I didn't see the fan there.

I didn't have time to search for it.

A man's fan?

Why would a single lady hide a man's fan near her bed?

Could it be...

It's already been two days now.

I wonder what Master will do to us.

Young Mistress, what should we do?

We could fight our way out of here.

That is the last resort.

Since they are determined to keep us grounded

they will surely prevent us from escaping.

I thought that we could get some peaceful days.

Who knew that Miss Chang Le would seize the chance to frame Young Mistress again?

I really don't get it.

Young Mistress never did anything.

How did that wooden figurine turn up in the box?

What are you looking for? Let me help you.

A fan.

Could they have taken it away?

A fan?

The fan.

Young Mistress.

The fan.

Why is it with you?

When I was tidying up the box

I noticed that the pouch is a bit dirty, so I made a new one.

I was going to put it back in.

Well done.

If you did put it back, they would have taken it.

Madam.

Drink this antidote quickly.

If there's any residue of poison left in your body, that wouldn't be good.

If it weren't for horsetail grass...

if I weren't determined to take the poison...

This time, I'm afraid that we wouldn't take that little bitch out so easily.

But Mother, is it really all right to take horsetail grass?

You coughed up blood and suffered chest pain.

Will you really be all right after taking this antidote?

Don't worry.

I won't put my life at risk recklessly.

The amount of horsetail grass I took was carefully measured.

Its effect has been halved.

It will only make me seem slightly disoriented.

It won't harm my body.

As for coughing up blood and chest pain

that is just to seem convincing.

I will be just fine as long as I continue

to take this antidote for a month continuously.

I don't understand.

Since Hong Luo is skilled in the art of disguise

we could just let her kill Li Wei Young.

Then we can find a scapegoat to blame it on.

That should do the trick.

Mother wouldn't have to take such a risk.

That Li Wei Young is already wary of us.

She also has Jun Tao by her side.

That makes it even more difficult for Hong Luo to kill her.

Moreover, she was just appointed Lady of District Anping.

If she dies without a just cause, it will surely raise a commotion.

Your father wouldn't let us off easily either.

It can do us no good.

This is the only way to kill her nice and quietly.

But Father is now only keeping her grounded.

How is Mother going to have her killed quietly?

Don't worry.

I've already made an arrangement.

I deliberately sent Li Min De away.

Let's see who can still help her this time.

Young Mistress, I really don't understand

how the wooden figurine got into the box.

I was too careless.

I didn't even notice that someone sneaked in.

How are you to be blamed for this?

Chiyun Rou is out to get me.

She will always find a way to do it while we are out.

I'm now just more worried about what she intends to do to me.

[Hejian Quarters]

Master.

I'm actually feeling all right now.

I don't wish to look into this matter anymore, but Wei Young...

She actually dared to use witchcraft that is strictly banned by His Majesty.

I'm worried that...

Give orders to everyone that no one is to mention this matter anymore.

If anyone reveals a word about it, I will show no mercy.

Should we send Wei Young back to the countryside again?

No.

Wei Young was appointed the lady of a district by His Majesty.

If we act recklessly, it will surely cause some trouble.

You're right.

Even if we send her back to the countryside, it is still worrying.

What should we do?

Master.

You mustn't be too softhearted this time.

You're the master of the family.

You should make a decision.

Madam, you can leak news that Wei Young has suddenly taken ill.

You can then do away with her in a couple of days.

Master is doing this for the sake of the family.

This matter...

Master, you can't be blamed for being ruthless.

It's Wei Young's fault.

She is simply too immature.

She has let you down.

Don't worry, Master.

I know what to do.

You... What are you going to do?

You're not to hurt my mistress!

Now that you're in our hands, what good will struggling do?

Search!

I dare you to!

Li Wei Young, now that you've been found guilty

you allow your maid to seek revenge freely?

You got what you wanted.

You already took the wooden figurine from my room.

What are you searching for now?

Li Wei Young, don't act ignorant.

You know what I'm looking for.

You can't search my room whenever you want.

Jun Tao!

Today, if anyone dares to touch my belongings without permission

teach them a lesson by all means.

I understand.

Anyone there?

Present!

You...

- Young Mistress! - Bai Zhi!

Li Wei Young, don't you care for your maid?

I'd like to see if your precious item matters

more than this maid's life.

Despicable.

Search.

- Search carefully. - Yes.

Young Mistress, look!

Li Wei Young.

This fan...

Where did you get this?

I bought it.

You think that I'm some child?

You bought a man's fan and even keep it hidden away?

I'll ask you again.

Where did you get this fan?

Do you think that you will be fine as long as you don't speak?

Anyone?

Lock up Jun Tao and interrogate her harshly!

I dare you!

Take her away.

Jun Tao!

Jun Tao!

Tie her up as well.

Young Mistress!

Let go of me!

Young Mistress!

Old Madam!

Only you can save Wei Young now.

You have to do something about it.

This matter involves witchcraft.

Even though I wish to help her, I can't do anything at all.

Old Madam.

We all know very well what Wei Young is like.

How could she use witchcraft to harm anyone?

Someone is obviously out to frame her.

It isn't that I don't believe Wei Young

but now they found solid evidence against her.

Even your brother-in-law believes that she did it.

This matter concerns the survival of the Li family.

What I say won't matter.

What is worse is that it's related to witchcraft.

Your brother-in-law is all out to cover up the incident.

How could he possibly draw attention to himself

by pleading innocence for Wei Young?

Old Madam.

Madam has already released news saying that Wei Young is ill.

It's evident that Master has made a decision.

Old Madam.

Will you just do nothing to stop Wei Young from being killed?

Seventh Concubine, Third Madam

you should both know how much Old Madam cares for Miss Wei Young.

Do you really think that she doesn't want to save her?

There's just nothing she can do about it.

Do you know that Old Madam didn't sleep a wink at all last night?

Get up now.

Don't panic.

Let me come up with a way to keep that girl alive.

Old Madam...

What are you going to do?

Do you know that because of you, I have suffered very much?

Who are you to take everything from me?

Compliments from the public...

Rewards from His Majesty...

Prince of Gaoyang's favor...

Those were all mine in the first place!

Answer me.

This fan...

Is this from Prince of Gaoyang?

If I tell you now that this fan was given to me by him

will you be very happy about it?

Is that what you wish to hear?

Prince of Gaoyang and I were childhood sweethearts.

He even said that he would marry me.

But ever since you showed up, everything's changed.

He won't admit that he proposed then.

He went back on his promise.

It's you...

You snatched His Highness away from me!

I'll ask you this again.

This fan...

Is it from His Highness?

Is it?

You won't talk?

Anyone there?

Bring the finger crusher.

Miss Chang Le, you mustn't.

That would leave external wounds.

It'd be bad if anyone notices them.

What did you say?

I have an idea that could work.

Why don't we try needle pricking?

Needle pricking?

That must be interesting.

Let go of me!

- What are you doing? - Let go of me!

Let go of my mistress!

Don't hurt my mistress!

You won't scream, will you?

I'll see how long you can put up with it.

Young Mistress!

Young Mistress...

You still won't talk?

Young Mistress...

Li Chang Le...

You're pathetic.

This is all you could do?

I'll do it.

- Young Mistress... - Give it to me.

Miss Chang Le!

Please stop hurting my mistress.

How nimble are these hands?

They could do the lion dance and massage Old Madam's shoulders.

Even Crown Princess Consort complimented them greatly.

Young Mistress!

Young Mistress!

Miss Chang Le, I'm begging you!

Let my mistress go. Young Mistress!

Let go of me!

If you won't let go, I'll beat you to death!

Bai Zhi, let go of her!

Quickly!

Damn girl!

How dare you bite me!

Beat her up!

- Beat her to death! - Stop it!

Bai Zhi!

Bai Zhi!

Let her go!

I'm going to report this to Old Madam!

Cover her mouth.

Let go of her!

If you still refuse to tell the truth, you can watch her be beaten to death!

Fine! I'll tell you everything!

Let her go!

Stop!

This fan...

It was given to me by a friend from the countryside.

A friend in the countryside?

A male friend?

You're lying to me.

Li Chang Le.

As a daughter of a prestigious family, couldn't you tell?

This fan's craftsmanship and quality are not the best.

Prince of Gaoyang is the Prime Imperial Grandson.

How could he use such an item?

How could he like such a roughly made fan?

This fan...

It's really a gift from your friend in the countryside?

He drew the bamboo on the fan.

You should be able to tell that this isn't drawn by a famous artist.

Prince of Gaoyang is so talented.

He's skilled in music, art, chess, and all sorts of things.

This thing...

How could he like it?

A friend in the countryside?

I'd say that he's your lover!

How dare you have dealings with a peasant boy!

No wonder you'd rather be beaten than come clean.

What are you?

How dare you even seduce Prince of Gaoyang?

I never seduced anyone.

Please don't use your despicable mind to judge me.

You're still so arrogant?

You act as if you're so pure and innocent.

Who knew that you already had an affair in private?

Should Prince of Gaoyang learn of this matter...

That's right.

Let's go.

Bai Zhi! Bai Zhi!

Bai Zhi!

Are you all right?

Bai Zhi!

Bai Zhi, wake up!

Bai Zhi...

Bai Zhi?

Bai Zhi...

Open the door. I have to see my cousin.

Third Young Mistress, no one is allowed in.

You...

Chang Ru?

Is it Chang Ru?

Wei Young, it's me!

Are you all right?

Let me in.

Let me in!

Unless Madam Li permits it, no one is allowed to enter.

Chang Ru.

How is Jun Tao doing?

Is she all right?

Jun Tao is not in any immediate danger.

Don't worry, Wei Young.

I will do my best to protect her.

Thank you, Chang Ru.

Please help me protect Jun Tao no matter what happens.

By the way, here are some food and medications.

I've prepared them for you.

Could you please deliver them for me?

It isn't that I don't wish to help you

but if I do so, my own life might be in jeopardy.

Chang Ru, don't worry about me.

I'm innocent.

I believe that I can make it out of here.

You'd better head back now.

If Madam Li sees you here, she will surely blame you.

Young Mistress, let's go.

If Madam Li finds out about this, she will surely punish us.

Head back now.

Don't worry about me.

Wei Young, do take care of yourself.

Once I have any news, I'll inform you right away.

Who knew that Madam Li would be so ruthless this time?

She even used witchcraft on herself.

It seems that Miss Wei Young will surely be killed now.

It won't do.

Wei Young mustn't die.

She mustn't die yet.

This time, who else could save her?

There is someone who can.

Bai Zhi...

Young Mistress...

Young Mistress...

Bai Zhi...

Bai Zhi, stay strong.

I will be here with you.

I wonder how Jun Tao is doing.

Bai Zhi.

Bai Zhi.

You're burning up.

If this goes on, she will die!

Open the door!

Open the door!

I'm Lady of District Anping!

Who are you to lock me in here?

How outrageous!

Second Young Mistress.

I'd advise you to head back in there.

I need medication for wounds.

If you won't give it to me, I will create a commotion

to let the entire family know that I have been tortured.

Who are you trying to bluff?

If you could, you would have done so already.

You didn't because you knew that it would be useless.

But now, Bai Zhi's life is in danger.

Is that so?

We'll wait until she's dead then.

Keep a closer eye on her.

Chun Ming!

I will remember what you did to me today.

Fine.

I'll see what you can do.

Young Master.

Luckily, I came up with an idea to get Eighth Prince out of my way.

If he followed us all the way

who knows what other trouble he could stir up?

Exactly. Eighth Prince is quite odd.

Why does he always pick on you?

Young Master, how have you offended him?

Darn you, Li Min De!

How dare you molest me again!

How would I know?

Those princes are always very willful.

They don't need any reason to pick on someone.

That's true.

Young Master, what's wrong?

For no reason

my right eyelid has been fluttering a lot these days.

Could something have gone wrong at home?

Is Wei Young in trouble?

Young Master.

Miss Wei Young is now Lady of District Anping.

Jun Tao is also there to protect her.

How could she be in any trouble?

You worry too much.

Young Master, we're already in Zhending.

Let's get this matter done quickly and head home right away.

Sure. Get ready to leave!

- Yes! - Yes!

[Junlan Quarters]

Bai Zhi.

You must hang in there.

Even if there's only a slim chance, I still won't give up on you.

Here.

Have some food.

Bai Zhi.

How are you feeling?

Young Mistress...

Are you all right?

How could I let you look after me?

That will take years off my life...

Don't sit up yet.

Lie still.

You must get well.

I'll feed you some more food.

Young Mistress...

How are your hands?

I'm so useless.

I failed to protect you.

I'm all right.

Don't cry.

Here.

You must get well soon.

Have more food.

Once you nurse your body, then you will recover faster.

Thank you, Young Mistress.

I heard that Madam Chiyun is in poor health.

Is she feeling better now?

Thank you for asking, Your Highness.

My mother is much better now.

That's good to know.

At our age, we get health problems here and there.

It's hard not to admit that we're already old.

You won't, Your Highness.

Your Highness is in your prime.

You'll always stay so young.

Whenever you visit me, you never fail to cheer me up.

By the way, Qiu Yi

give Chang Le the spices that His Majesty gave to me last time.

Thank you, Your Highness.

Life in the palace is such a bore.

When your mother is well again, ask her to come to the palace to chat with me.

Yes, Your Highness.

Qiu Yi, the flowers have bloomed beautifully in the garden today.

Take Chang Le there for a walk.

I'm already tired.

I'll get some rest in my room.

It's Prince of Gaoyang.

I'd like to greet His Highness.

I'll take my leave.

Greetings to Prince of Gaoyang.

Last time, I misbehaved by talking back at Your Highness.

Please forgive me.

As for that matter, I was at fault as well.

Now that Miss Chang Le can realize your mistake

and stop dwelling on events of the past

I feel more at ease.

What brings you here today?

It's Crown Princess Consort.

She heard that my mother is ill

so she summoned me to ask after her.

How is Madam Li doing?

Thank you for asking.

My mother is much better already.

What is this?

I don't know if I should tell you.

What exactly is this?

It's a family scandal.

I shouldn't tell anyone.

However, since Your Highness asks me, I wouldn't dare keep it from you.

This is Wei Young's most cherished gift.

You said that this is Wei Young's most cherished gift?

Yes.

This was a gift from her lover in the countryside.

She kept it hidden quite well, but was later found out.

Mother is worried that her reputation will be marred

so she took it away for safekeeping.

I know that Wei Young treasures it deeply

so I stole it from my mother to return it to Wei Young.

But I forgot to do that before I came here, so I brought it with me.

Your eyes must be tainted by it.

Please forgive me.

Once Prince of Gaoyang knows that Li Wei Young has had an affair with a man

he will surely lose interest in her.

I saw His Highness chatting with Miss Chang Le for a long time.

They seem happy.

You mean that they chatted happily?

I saw it very clearly.

Jun does like Li Chang Le.

This deal is half sealed then.

Once Jun marries Li Chang Le

it's as good as having the support of the prime minister and the Chiyun family.

This is a great advantage for Jun.

This is obviously my fan.

Li Wei Young...

If you really have no affection for me

why would you keep my fan right by your side?

This is Wei Young's most cherished gift.

It was given to her by her lover in the countryside.

When I present the fan right before your eyes

I'll see how you can deny it.

Lover in the countryside...

Lover...

How did this fan end up in Li Chang Le's hands?

Something is amiss.

Could Wei Young be in trouble?

Your Highness!

A maid handed me this letter secretly.

[Wei Young needs help.]

Wei Young really is in trouble.

Your Highness!

[Prime Minister's Manor]

Greetings to Prince of Gaoyang.

I wonder what brings Your Highness here so suddenly.

Prime Minister, don't stand on ceremony.

My mother heard that Madam Li hasn't been feeling well

so she sent me here with Imperial Physician Liu

to take a look at her.

Where is Madam Li?

Your Highness, this way, please.

Sure.

Madam, please let me see Wei Young!

How many times have I told you?

Wei Young is severely ill.

Master confined her to her quarters

for fear of passing the illness to family members.
