Oops! The king is in Love

Episode 9

What?

Haven't you said

the imperial palace is so small that you can't take a fresh breath here?

Wow!

The air here is fresh.

Aren't you afraid of being in danger in the palace?

You have no idea

the place outside the palace is more dangerous.

Aren't you afraid of getting involved in troubles?

Well,

I mean.

Tomorrow,

I'll promote you to a eunuch in chief.

Stupid.

Then Eunuch Hai

won't be able to bully you.

Wow!

I know

you're the nicest to me.

Zhixia,

it won't be that easy to leave the palace this time

since you've come back.

Then

I'll

stay here.

Your Majesty, please have some tea.

I...

I have another important piece of information.

Spit it out.

Sanbao pretended to be someone from Minister's Residence

when he stayed in Laifu Inn.

Eunuch Hai,

do you have anything to say?

Your Majesty,

His Majesty has promoted Sanbao to a eunuch in chief.

I don't feel well.

And I can't stand this anymore.

What about

allowing Minster Li to deal with the thing for me?

You have my words.

Thank you, Your Majesty.

Your Highness,

it's inside.

Well,

Your Highness,

Eunuch Hai is badly sick

and Her Majesty sent you here to deal with the thing.

You

should take it.

Eh,

the Yin Qi here is too strong.

It's too strong.

Lead me the way.

Eh, okay.

Congratulations.

His Majesty has promoted you.

There won't be anyone who dares to bully you anymore.

His Majesty treated you well.

Don't worry.

We'll share the good fortune together.

I won't leave you behind.

What's wrong with you?

I have a stomachache.

I have to go to the loo.

It's not the time for the loo.

Endure it.

Congratulations, Eunuch.

I mean it.

Now you're a preferred minion of His Majesty.

Please take care of me in the future. Please.

I will. I will.

It's just a little thing to show my sincerity.

Please take it. Please.

Can we have a further conversation?

Of course.

This way.

Chief Eunuch Hai...

Have you found anything?

Douchebags.

Please.

You little beast,

don't you know

it's a capital crime?

If you're asking for a death,

I won't stop you.

But you can't get the entire clan of Yan in trouble.

I have no idea

who of us has got the clan of Yan in trouble.

When you were selling the topics of the explanation,

had you ever thought about the clan of Yan?

You should know

I didn't dare to do the thing

without the permission of His Majesty,

did I?

It's His Majesty

who allowed me to spread the information that topics of the examination had been leaked in the capital city

and irritate Yanqing in the exam.

I haven't expected His Majesty also sent you a mission.

What else do you think?

Otherwise,

only with those dudes in the Fulai Inn,

how could they believe that

the leak of examination paper was real?

And they got trapped

one after another.

Then has His Majesty also given you the permission

to gain interest from it?

Why can't I?

Why?

I've taken such a big risk.

Why can't I earn any money from it?

Money. Money. Money.

All that you value is money.

It can be counted that

I got you wrong this time.

But I have to warn you at the beginning.

If you go too far to take advantage of me because I'm close to His Majesty,

I will place righteousness above family loyalty.

Second,

don't let anyone know the relationship between us.

Otherwise,

I won't leave you behind for sure.

What a wicked girl!

I do wanna sever the family ties with you right now.

Me too.

I'm reporting to you, Your Highness.

Eunuch Sanbao got promoted after he came back to the palace.

It seems he has made great effort

on the imperial examination thing.

I did underestimate this minor eunuch.

Now His Majesty is

recruiting talents.

They'll definitely be our troubles

in the near future.

Your Highness,

it's a copy of collaboration.

Give it to Zhiyue

and tell her it's from Her Majesty.

Ask her to complete the mission perfectly.

Yes.

Lin.

Sanbao.

Why do you come here?

Sanbao,

I do envy of you.

The Leisure Life Pavilion used to be a forbidden place.

I haven't expected His Majesty rewarded you with the place as your residence.

Sanbao,

have you found

anything here?

Here?

Well,

it seems to be an entertaining place for His Majesty,

but in fact,

it's where he can find some peace

and take a break.

It's not as mysterious as you think of.

Eh.

Since you got promoted,

even the Number One Scholar wanted to fawn on you.

When I went to run errands in Imperial Academy just now,

the Number One Scholar asked me to give this to you.

Don't forget to have it.

Eunuch Hai is waiting for me.

I have to go.

Take your time, Lin.

The Number One Scholar went to the imperial palace

with Chinese baked cakes.

Wasn't he afraid of being laughed at?

Sanbao.

San...

Stand still.

Are you

hiding from me?

Your Highness,

how can it happen?

I'm not for sure.

You get me wrong.

Now I'm a eunuch in chief of His Majesty, ain't I?

I won't be able to take care of you in your palace,

so I especially brought you my Chinese baked cakes

when I came back to the imperial palace from the outside this time.

You have to have a taste.

I know you care for me.

Of course.

Then I'm going back to report to His Majesty, Your Highness.

See you later.

See you later.

You'll be mine sooner or later.

From seven to nine o'clock in the evening tonight,

at the east of the imperial garden,

in the Pavilion in Lotus Breezes,

we won't leave until we meet.

Sanbao,

you're so bad.

I'm reporting to you, Your Majesty.

Hanging the heads of criminals out there

to warn the public has great effect on

bringing honest and healthy atmosphere back to official circles,

which has highly encouraged the scholars from poor families.

We have won high praise from common people.

They're singing Your Majesty's praises.

The imperial examination thing

ended meeting the satisfaction of everyone.

How come His Majesty still has no appetite for food and drinks?

Nope.

I'll wait a little longer.

We're done. We really are.

His Majesty seems to get mad.

Big Brother.

How come you've come back?

You said that you would go all the way to the Western Regions, didn't you?

Exactly.

You said you would never come back to the capital city, didn't you?

Exactly.

Didn't you say that...?

I did say...

Stop talking anymore.

He has yet to had the meal.

I've prepared these dishes randomly for you.

How is it?

Ain't I sweet?

Have it as you want.

The crab is offered by Jiangsu.

It's delicious.

I've been eating abundant fish and meat these days outside the imperial palace.

I'm eager to have some congee and side dishes.

What?

I'm so annoying in the imperial palace

while you're eating

abundant fish and meat.

How could you do that?

Why not?

Don't you feel guilty?

Why should I feel guilty?

How dare you?

You're hardhearted.

I just wanna have my meal. What makes you so angry?

It's fine.

Now that you wanna have some congee,

from now on,

you can only have congee for each meal and you're not allowed to eat meat.

Why?

You're not being reasonable, are you?

No, I'm not.

Go have the self-reflection.

Our big brother is scared of death, isn't he?

He's acting too bold now.

Young Master.

Is everything done?

Don't worry, Young Master.

Let's go.

Eh,

why is the stitchwork that hard?

Why are you sighing?

Aren't you in a good mood, Your Majesty?

Seeing from your expression,

are you waiting for me to ask you the reason?

I won't do it.

Young Master,

Lady Zhixia has arrived.

And the carriage is prepared.

We have to go in a hurry.

Something is wrong.

Young Master,

it's...

What are you embroidering?

Other girls always embroider flowers and grasses.

But you're embroidering a turtle.

I...

You're embroidering it for me,

aren't you?

No, I'm not.

You're thinking too much.

Give it back...

It's fine. It's fine. It's fine.

I'll ask you the question.

I will.

Your Majesty,

what's wrong with you?

Eh,

the picking up imperial concubines thing

is put on the agenda

as soon as the examination ended.

It's a good thing.

You're waiting for picking up imperial concubines, aren't you?

Don't you have

any thought of

the picking up

imperial concubines thing?

Yes, I have.

I should congratulate you.

And I will.

I'll congratulate you on finding your love soon.

This is what you think of?

Then what else should I think of?

I'll marry other ladies.

Don't you...

you feel

a bit sad?

Eh.

Your Majesty,

we've talked about it earlier.

Lady Zhiyue is your best choice.

She has a thing for you

and you should treat her with your heart,

which can save us a lot of troubles.

Do you fall in love with another girl?

It's normal.

It is.

You're an emperor anyway.

You're supposed to have several wives.

Lady Zhiyue comes from an official family.

She'll understand it.

Then what do you think of it?

I'll ask you in another way.

If

you were

the girl I worship,

what would she think?

I'm not her. How could I know what she would think?

Answer my question seriously. Don't brush me off.

You should treat each of your wives evenly.

You should treat each of your wives evenly.

What if I marry her alone?

No, you can't.

You're an emperor.

It's your inescapable responsibility

to breed

and cultivate inheritors.

If those ministers heard what you said,

you would be criticized by them.

Why can't I have

eight or ten children with her alone? Isn't it the same?

Why do you say it to me?

What a blockhead you are!

I've no idea whether you're really that stupid or you...

Forget it.

Today,

I have to tell you.

Sanbao,

in fact, I...

Your Majesty.

Your Majesty,

what's wrong with you?

Zhixia,

it has been an hour.

Why don't you show up?

Why are you here?

Why did you do?

Where is the message I left you?

The message?

What message?

I hid it among the Chinese baked cakes.

Haven't you seen it?

Chinese baked cakes?

Oops!

What on earth does

Sanbao want?

Don't worry.

His Majesty's just fainted.

He'll wake up soon.

We have to hurry up.

I've just become the Number One Scholar.

No one will suspect that I bring you out of the imperial palace.

People in the Emerald Mansion are complicated.

So you should follow me.

Don't go back there.

I'll inform Mrs. Emerald

to gather in my mansion

with her minions.

I'll figure out a way

to send you out of the capital city then.

Rest assured.

When time flies,

His Majesty won't investigate further.

When I'm able to help my grandfather out,

I'll go marry you.

Then we can leave the place

and have our unconstraint life.

Zhixia.

Yanqing,

I'll send you here.

I'll deal with what happened tonight.

You can't impede

your bright future because of me.

Mrs. Emerald came to me.

The imperial palace isn't the proper place for you.

If I don't take you away now,

how can I meet her later?

How can I be qualified

to complete our engagement?

Lin Yanqing.

Have you ever pondered that if you stay here longer,

your identity will be revealed sooner or later.

Till then, not only you yourself will get hurt,

but your families.

Even His Majesty will get entangled.

It's not the right time.

I can't leave now without achieving anything.

Don't worry.

I'll take good care of myself.

I mean what you want is to stay by the side of His Majesty.

What spell has His Majesty casted on you?

You're so eager to stay in the imperial palace

instead of caring for your own life.

You can think of this as you want.

But I wanna make myself clear today.

Leave me alone.

I won't leave here.

Sanbao.

Sanbao.

Why is he sleeping here?

Brother.

Brother.

Brother,

where is Sanbao?

Yeah.

Where is he?

Have a look at it.

Anle,

I'm fine.

You can go back first.

Stop here.

Get out of the carriage.

It's you.

You hinder my way late in the night.

What do you want?

Lin Yanqing,

I have the imperial decree of Her Majesty,

saying to bring you to justice.

Don't push me to fight against you.

Go with me compliantly.

Bring me to justice?

I'm the new Number One Scholar.

How could you say that to me?

The new Number One Scholar?

What kind of the new Number One Scholar are you?

Our army was resisting foreign aggression

at the frontier juncture

while you were collaborating with enemies.

How flagitious you are!

You're venomously slandering me.

You should give me an explanation.

You wrote this on your own.

It bore the seal of Yelu Ming.

It's the smoking gun.

Now there's nothing you can do to defend yourself.

Guards.

Tie up the sinner.

Hold on.

Why?

What else do you wanna defend yourself?

I'm always frank and forthright.

I have no idea where you got the letter.

But...

What?

But my minions have nothing to do with it.

You should let them go.

I'll go with you.

How about it?

You have the smoking gun, don't you?

Why do you hesitate?

Okay.

I've never picked on ordinary people.

I'll do as you said today.

Let them go.

Go.

Escort him to a safe place.

Young Master.

Go.

His Majesty is coming.

Kneel down to you, Your Majesty.

Rise.

What's going on?

I'm reporting to you, Your Majesty.

A collaboration letter was intercepted at the frontier juncture.

I received the order of Her Majesty

to catch the sinner, Lin Yanqing.

So,

have you admitted your guilt?

Your Majesty,

Lin Yanqing didn't defend himself.

I'm about to put him in imperial prison.

After that, I'll report to you, Your Majesty.

Please understand it, Your Majesty.

Zhixia.

Take him away.

Yes.

Move.

Why are there so many people?

Your Majesty,

why are you here?

Go back to the imperial palace.

Your Majesty, what's the matter?

This is the question I wanna ask you.

Why was the Number One Scholar caught?

Why did you appear outside the gate of the imperial palace with Lin Yanqing?

Your Highness,

the criminal has been put in imperial prison.

Her Majesty said she would award you someday.

Let's go back.

Zhixia.

Take him away.

Your Highness.

The Number One Scholar collaborated with foreign enemies?

Your Majesty, you should investigate it.

You haven't answered my question yet.

You won't answer it, will you?

Fine.

Then I have another.

When do you intend to

tell me the engagement of Lin Yanqing and you?

You've investigated me secretly.

Great.

Well,

I did make you faint tonight.

As for that engagement,

I've never cared for it.

I won't agree to marry anyone

who I don't love and is not my Mr. Right.

I won't for sure.

And why Lin Yanqing wanted to take me out of the imperial palace

is that

he believed you didn't

know my real identity.

He made this bad decision

because he wanted to protect me.

Besides, look at me,

do I seem to escape from the imperial palace?

You...

What do wanna say?

What?

You can ask me whatever you wanna know today.

I mean everything.

I'll tell you all.

Don't you feel the pain since your hand was hurt?

Your Majesty, you...

Shut up.

I'm still mad at you.

Zhiyue,

this is my new personal attendant.

He isn't familiar with the rules here.

Your Majesty.

Your Majesty,

don't be mad at me.

Wait for me, Your Majesty.

Zhixia.

Take him away.

Lady,

everything is okay.

What are you crying for?

Ke'er,

do you think I'm pretty?

Lady, your skin is bright and smooth

and your appearance is beautiful.

You're a vision for sure.

Then why does His Majesty treat me...?

Doesn't His Majesty get along well with you, Lady?

He's even sent you such a beautiful silk dress.

See.

Lady,

it's what His Majesty sent you.

So what?

I feel annoying when I'm looking at it.

Haven't you...

haven't you...

What have you known?

Well.

Say it.

I've heard the rumor from the imperial palace,

saying His Majesty has an unmentionable disease.

Doesn't His Majesty treat you as a sibling?

If the rumor is true,

I'll accept the reality.

The imperial examination thing,

you've dealt with it at risk.

I haven't expected

when Prime Minister was in jail,

his grandson was also put in jail.

Lin Yanqing was accused of collaboration.

What do you think of it?

Prime Minister Lin has spared no effort in the performance of his duty in his life

and Lin Yanqing is loyal and kind.

I think

the Lins aren't ungrateful.

Exactly.

I think so too.

But does what I think matter?

You've tried that hard to achieve something

that won high praise from the public

while Her Majesty and Gong Ye took advantage of Zhiyue

to get rid of Lin Yanqing.

I've thought a lot.

We're still negligent.

They've got the irrefutable evidence.

It will be difficult.

Lin Yanqing is honest and frank.

He also has the passion.

He's the talent who the imperial court needs.

We have to save him.

We do.

But during a duel among masters,

I have to fight toe-to-toe against them.

I'll have to retreat first for the sake of advancing.

I must plan and prepare for the long run.

Then I'll be able to save the life of Yanqing.

That girl has come back?

Master.

It's okay.

I'm

a reasonable man, ain't I?

I also hope you can be happy.

But keeping that girl by your side

is dangerous for

both you

and her.

You should think about it thoroughly.

Nope.

I'll have to talk with His Majesty

about saving Yanqing tomorrow.

Yanqing is the Number One Scholar entitled by His Majesty.

His Majesty has tried that hard

to win high praise from the ordinary people of the State of Dongsheng.

If Yanqing were to be convicted of treason,

the reputation of His Majesty that was newly built up

would be destroyed.

It's made from bitter gourds.

Your Majesty.

Your Majesty,

did you listen to me carefully just now?

It's urgent now.

If there's something wrong with Yanqing in the prison,

we wouldn't be able to save him.

I'm pondering.

About how to save Lin Yanqing?

You mean, are all these things...?

They're sent by Zhiyue.

How do you know it?

I give my heart to the one I love.

But he doesn't have a thing for me at all.

I'm just having the

unrequited love.

Besides, these baked cakes are made from bitter gourds.

Can't she do it more obviously?

Can't she make herself clear in front of you

instead of sending these things?

You think everyone is the same as you?

It's fine.

Not everyone can do what I do.

She's a rich lady from a prestigious family

while I'm just some punk in the town.

How can I be compared with her?

Then you should marry her.

Marry her right now.

You should marry her.

Yan Zhixia,

do you truly know

what's confusing me?

I've told you so much,

but do you really know what I mean?

Don't you know my heart?

Come in.

I'm reporting to you, Your Majesty.

After verification,

the handwriting of the collaboration letter does belong to the Number One Scholar.

What about the seal?

After verification,

it's also the one of Yelu Ming.

Have Her Majesty and Gong Ye done anything?

No, they haven't for the time being.

Your Majesty,

you've already made some arrangements.

What?

Lin Yanqing being detained has had a sensational effect on

both scholars and ordinary people in the capital city.

Where did you get the news?

Your Majesty,

Empress Dowager,

Lin Yanqing refused to admit his guilt.

If we don't investigate harder

instead of imposing penalties and make him plead guilty now,

his confession will be extracted under torture.

All the scholars in the capital city

are eager to

to know the truth issued by the imperial court.

If we can't do it fair and square,

the public will be irritated.

So we suggest

we couldn't do it in haste.

We hope

Your Majesty

and Empress Dowager

could understand.

We hope Your Majesty and Empress Dowager could understand.

How dare he?

What a bastard Lin Yanqing is!

When he has just been entitled to the Number One Scholar by me,

he made such a big trouble.

What a joke it is!

How will the public see me?

I've made up my mind.

Lin Yanqing will have to be executed

by dismembering the body

at the corner of

the food market tomorrow.

I mean to rip him

and cut off his head

to relieve my rage.
