(FN) LOVE AND REDEMPTION

(FN) EPISODE TWO

Xuan Ji!

This is bad! There's an intruder in the secret ground!

Xuan Ji!

Who are you?

Xuan Ji!

Silver Snake!

My mask!

Little Stammer, don't go there! Do you have a death wish?

Master, the entrance has been sealed.

Senior Heng Yang.

Junior, you're back.

The protective barrier was pulsing

when I arrived just now.

I've asked Hao Chen to seal the entrance.

This is not the best time to speak.

We need to return to Xuyang Peak

to set up a formation in order to stabilize it.

-Follow me. -Yes.

Xuan Ji!

Are you out of your mind?

You would've been dead if your Uncle Heng Yang and Senior Hao Chen

didn't arrive in time!

Tell me! How did you enter the secret ground?

I...

-Father. -Don't call me that!

I'm speaking as the sect leader now.

I...

Sect leader,

I really have no idea.

Maybe we entered by accident because the barrier was too weak.

Is that true?

I'm not lying.

I will bear responsibility for my mistakes.

You can hit or punish me,

but please don't blame Little Stammer.

Hit you?

That'll never work.

I tried that since you were young,

but it didn't work at all.

You don't feel any shame or pain.

The secret ground is our sect's forbidden ground.

You hid in there instead of doing your training.

You even brought a stranger there!

You treat the laws of Shaoyang Sect as if it was nothing!

Since young, you have lost all senses.

And we allowed you to do as you please because of that.

But I didn't expect you to so spoiled!

From now on, I will never tolerate what you do anymore.

The secret ground is of utmost importance to our sect.

If you trespass the area,

you'll pay the consequences.

From today onwards, you'll reflect your actions in Mingxia Cave!

You'll only be able to return

when you realize your mistakes!

Mingxia Cave?

Father, only disciples who had committed

serious crimes will be sent to Mingxia Cave!

It's damp and dark over there.

My sister mustn't go there!

Master,

please rescind your order.

My junior is young and ignorant.

This punishment is too heavy for her.

Master, please have mercy on her.

In our sect, we have our own rules.

I can't just let her off because

she's my daughter!

-Father! -Keep quiet!

-Sect Leader Chu, about this-- -Hero Yu.

Regarding your intrusion,

I'll report it to the elders in your sect.

I'm handling the matters of my sect now.

Please don't interrupt.

Aunt Ying Hong!

Ling Long, according to the rules of Shaoyang Sect,

those who enter the forbidden ground will be sent to Mingxia Cave.

There are no exceptions.

Master, the vice palace lord of Lize Palace is here.

-Invite him here. -Yes.

Sect Leader Chu,

you called me here in such a hurry.

What exactly is going on?

Why are they kneeling...

Where's your mask?

My lord, I've lost it.

You lost it?

How dare you say that!

Vice palace lord,

although the Flower Session will be held in our sect,

that doesn't mean that

all the areas in our sect are open to the public.

Please keep an eye on your disciple.

Places other than Xuyang Peak are closed to the public.

Sect Leader Chu,

this is our fault.

Yu Si Feng!

Sect Leader Chu,

it was my fault that I entered the forbidden ground.

But I left my mask in there.

-Please allow me to enter-- -Impossible.

So, he actually entered the forbidden ground of Shaoyang Sect.

He's digging his own grave.

Sect Leader Chu,

what exactly is in the forbidden ground?

My disciple was hurt in there.

And you tried to punish them severely because of that.

There are forbidden grounds in Lize Palace as well.

Vice palace lord,

I've never tried to find out what's inside your forbidden ground.

Of course.

Every sect has their secrets.

We must never reveal them.

I'll bring this rebellious disciple of mine back.

And punish him severely.

Sect leader, ever since our sect was formed,

us in the Qingyang Peak have used divination to

assist Xuyang Peak in protecting the secret ground.

Now, Senior Heng Yang has set up a formation in Xuyang Peak

in order to stabilize the barrier.

But I'm still concerned about something.

Protecting the secret ground

is Shaoyang Sect's main mission.

Please tell me what's on your mind.

I'm still concerned about Xuan Ji's intrusion.

Sixteen years ago,

when the heavenly officers came down to seal the secret ground,

they said that the barrier would become weak in 25 years.

Maybe,

Xuan Ji found the weak spot by accident and managed to enter.

Besides that,

I can't think of any other reasons.

I hope that would be the case.

Senior, do you still remember

what our master said before?

He said an emotionless person will activate the Jade Cup.

For the past 16 years,

Xuan Ji hasn't shed tears at all.

She never showed any emotions.

And now, she had managed to enter the secret ground.

Will she be the one to activate the Jade Cup?

No!

That's impossible.

I hope I'm wrong,

but we must be very careful when the secret ground is at stake!

If Xuan Ji is the chosen person,

the entire Shaoyang Sect will be in danger!

You mean...

Why don't we lock her up in Mingxia Cave

before we find out the truth?

No!

Mingxia Cave?

Xuan Ji!

-Ling Long! -Xuan Ji!

-I have something to tell you! -Me too!

Listen to me first!

I overheard Father and Uncle Lu Yang's conversation just now.

You showed no emotion and you entered the secret ground.

Now, they want to lock you up in Mingxia Cave forever!

-Is that scary? -Of course!

Only those who had committed serious crimes

or lost themselves will be locked up there.

It's smelly, dirty, dark and damp in there.

I heard that you can hear the cries of people there too.

They'll cry every night! It's very scary!

It's fine. I'm not afraid.

Do you know the meaning of forever?

It means that you won't be able to come out!

You'll be stuck in there forever!

Are you willing to do so?

-What should I do then? -You should cry.

When Father sees you cry,

he'll know that you're not emotionless.

And he won't lock you up in there.

But I don't know how to cry.

You're on the verge of death, you know?

How about you think of the days when I took away your puppet?

Your favourite puppet.

It's fine. Just take it.

Just take it if you like it.

What if you never see me or Father again?

Or think about Mother.

Think about the days when Mother fed us personally.

Every time I think of that,

my chest would feel stuffy and I would cry.

Do you feel the same way?

What should I do?

I have an idea!

What idea?

Let's go!

Xuan Ji!

Xuan Ji!

-Ling Long. -Don't go!

Aunt Ying Hong, please let me send her off.

I can't bear to part with her.

You must take good care of yourself.

Let's hug.

What is this?

Chilli powder.

Keep this a secret. Let's go.

Father!

Father, Xuan Ji knows her mistakes now.

She knows her mistakes and she feels bad about them.

Look, her eyes are swollen from crying too much.

Is that true?

-Xuan Ji. -It's true.

Stop crying now.

Stop crying. Father will be sad if you continue this.

What's wrong with your eyes?

Let me see.

Stop fooling around! Bring her away!

Please don't!

-Xuan Ji! -Ling Long!

Father!

-Let me out! -Let me out!

-Let me out! -Let me out!

-Let me out! -Let me out!

-Let me out! -Let me out!

-Let me out! -Let me out!

Losing the mask

will put the entire Lize Palace in danger.

You're not the only one affected.

You should treat it as your own flesh.

You mustn't take it off in public,

let alone lose it.

Ruo Yu,

don't tell me you're feeling sorry

for someone who has broken the rules?

Continue!

Yu Si Feng,

not only did you lose your mask,

you didn't manage to retrieve it.

What shall we do with you?

I deserve the 13 Punishments.

Whip him harder!

Yu Si Feng, how do you explain this?

I would never dare to break the rules of Lize Palace.

I'm willing to be punished

in order to show my loyalty to Lize Palace.

Our lord thinks highly of you.

He even wanted to bestow the Gold Feather Medallion to you.

Look at you right now.

You had to receive the 13 Punishments when you went out for once.

You've disappointed

our lord.

What are you doing?

Bring him back to Lize Palace for further punishment.

Vice palace lord,

Yu Si Feng had registered his name for the Flower Session.

He had sent his name to them.

And he has been chosen for the Flower Picking Mission too.

If he returns to Lize Palace now,

the Flower Session will be...

I forgot about that.

Flower Session is a huge event among the Five Great Sects.

If he doesn't attend the event after putting his name,

the name of Lize Palace will be affected.

Elder Luo, what should we do?

Let him stay for now.

Our lord will arrive at Xuyang Peak before the session starts.

I think we can report to our lord for now.

He'll receive his punishment after the Flower Session.

He won't get to

escape his punishment.

Seems like you're safe for now.

If I were you,

I would try to

retrieve the mask before our lord arrives at Xuyang Peak.

You would only have a chance to turn things around by doing so.

Si Feng, this ointment is odourless and tasteless.

No one will discover this.

I heard that many disciples

ended their lives

in order to avoid further suffering.

You'll receive heavy punishments when you return.

Have you thought of a solution?

Under the circumstances,

you can only try and contribute more to the sect

so that the lord would give you another chance.

I heard that the monster you'll be hunting is Gudiao.

It's a vicious beast.

But if you hunt it successfully,

it'll be a huge contribution to our sect.

It finally stopped.

I'm so sleepy.

We entered from here last time.

There are no weak spots outside the secret ground.

Don't tell me I need to find Chu Xuan Ji again?

Dan Ping,

you must be blaming me right now.

You told me to take care of our daughter.

But now,

Xuan Ji had committed a serious crime.

What should I do?

What should I do now?

Father,

you should send me to Mingxia Cave as well.

I feel sorry for my little sister.

Master, please let Xuan Ji off.

-Master, please let Xuan Ji off. -Master, please let Xuan Ji off.

Senior!

Senior, the protection rock is vibrating again.

-Let's have a look. -Father!

Don't ever mention that matter in front of me.

Who's there?

How dare you intrude the secret ground of Shaoyang Sect?

Greetings, Uncle,

Aunt Ying Hong and Uncle He Yang.

It's been quite a rush.

And I didn't greet my elders.

Please forgive me.

That's fine.

You and your master were trying to stabilize the protective barrier.

You don't need to be too courteous.

You were unskilled when Senior Heng Yang

accepted you as his disciple ten years ago.

I didn't expect you to be this powerful

just after ten years of training.

I witnessed how you resealed the barrier.

Seems like you've exceeded the ten levels of Yang Jue Skill.

And it seems like you've mastered

the Heartless Tactics of Xuyang Peak as well.

I was untalented.

I only mastered the Heartless Tactics not long ago.

Only then, Master sent me here.

You're too humble.

You're this exceptional when you're so young.

It's no wonder you're the favourite disciple of Senior Heng Yang.

I suppose Senior Heng Yang

is still in Xuyang Peak?

The base of the protective barrier is located at Xuyang Peak.

Master needs to stay there for some days in order to stabilize the barrier.

Now that the Rahu Star and Ketu Star are attracting each other,

the protective barrier is getting more unstable.

That's why Master sent me to Shouyang Peak to check it out.

And to strengthen the barrier.

So that Shaoyang Sect will be safe.

That's the reason behind Shaoyang Sect's formation.

Uncle,

where's the junior who had entered the secret ground?

I've sent her to Mingxia Cave.

She's lazy, and ordinary.

It's impossible for her to unseal the barrier.

I think

there are abnormalities within the barrier.

That's why she got in by accident.

Hao Chen, please investigate this matter for me.

Yes.

Seems like I can't get up there.

I can't ask Chu Xuan Ji about the secret ground now.

Why are you here in the middle of the night?

Without Aunt Ying Hong's pass,

it's impossible for us to ascend Xiaoyang Peak.

You won't be able to enter Mingxia Cave.

Can't I just have a look?

Mingxia Cave is dark and creepy.

And Xuan Ji didn't train before.

I wonder if she could withstand it?

If Xuan Ji doesn't learn how to cry,

she'll never be able to prove that she's not emotionless.

And she'll never come out.

We should think of other ways.

-But-- -Let's go.

Will Chu Xuan Ji be able to leave if she cries?

Let me out!

Let me out!

Let me out!

Let me out!

Let me out!

So noisy.

Little Stammer.

I took away his mask.

Does he have to receive the same punishment?

Let me out!

Let me out!

The two stars are getting closer.

Did you guys notice that?

Yes.

Maybe it's a sign that

the primordial spirits of Mosha Star, Rahu Star and Ketu Star,

are getting closer to their souls.

But my lord, don't you worry.

I've sent spies to join the Flower Session.

They won't disappoint you.

In addition,

according to our branch in Mount Lutai,

they've used Tengu to capture

the merman who knows how to obtain the Divine Weapon.

Wolf is interrogating him now.

Good. Tell Wolf

to use any methods available

in order to extract information.

Yes, my lord.

Xuan Ji!

Xuan Ji!

Xuan Ji, how are you feeling?

Why are you frozen?

Sixth Senior,

I'm not cold at all.

My body is shaking on its own.

Sixth Senior,

I don't want to stay in this cave alone.

Will Father lock me here forever?

I...

I've always been an embarrassment.

And I created trouble for Shaoyang Sect as well.

Will he really abandon me?

Xuan Ji, don't say that.

Master is the sect leader. He has his own difficulties.

But he does care about you.

I came here today because Master wanted me to send you some food.

He misses you.

And Ling Long and I are worried about you.

We're trying to find a solution.

You mustn't give up now.

Will there be a solution?

About that,

we can think about it later.

Now, you should eat.

You must eat.

You won't be able to survive if you got sick.

Ling Long made this porridge herself.

She said she needed to do something for you

since Master wasn't willing to let her come.

Come.

Ling Long made this herself.

I must finish this.

What's wrong?

Is it too hot?

Sixth Senior,

I can taste the porridge now!

What did you say?

But why is this porridge so unpalatable?

How did you finish the food she made for you?

She'll be sad if I don't finish them.

You can taste food now?

Sixth Senior, there are so many dishes here.

-Do they have different tastes? -Yeah.

Here, try this.

-This is salty. -Salty?

It's delicious!

Try this. This is sweet

with a hint of sourness.

This is delicious!

This is spicy.

-Come, try this. -Spicy?

This is the best!

Slowly, don't choke yourself.

Xuan Ji,

what exactly is going on?

You...

Have you recovered the other five senses as well?

Do you know how to cry now?

If you do, Master will let you out.

-Cry? -Try it.

Are there tears?

Xuan Ji recovered her taste?

Did she recover the other senses as well?

Can she cry now?

-That's the most important thing. -Only her taste.

She doesn't even know how she recovered her taste.

Maybe it's connected to the secret ground.

Maybe? It's because you didn't ask enough questions.

Maybe? My foot.

Lady, if you don't believe me,

you can go to Xiaoyang Peak.

I wouldn't need to listen to you if I could go there.

I'm so furious.

Whose Demon Manual is this?

-Demon Manual? -There's a bookmark as well.

Gudiao is vicious, its horns are terrifying.

Its horns can be refined into a rare item.

The item can reduce anyone into tears. Its name is Weeping Tears.

Who put this here?

I'm sure it's the people who wanted to save Xuan Ji.

Weeping Tears?

Xuan Ji will be saved if she acquires that.

Yeah.

But where do we find this Gudiao?

It's written here.

The demon they'll hunt for the Flower Session is Gudiao.

This is great! Father is in Shouyang Hall.

He's briefing the Five Great Sects about the mission.

-Let's go there now. -Go there?

Many guards will be patrolling there. I'm sure the hall will be full.

Will we be able to enter the hall?

Didn't you say you're getting better in your Burrowing Spell?

We'll use that spell then.

You seemed comfortable in ordering me around, huh?

Let's go.

Everyone, as you all know,

the Flower Session

is organized so that the Five Great Sects can spar with each other.

And showcase the talents hidden within each sect.

Those who are under 16

and had never attended previous sessions before

may showcase their talents here.

As righteous sects,

we still need to abide by our sworn duties.

That is, to slay demons.

So that the world can be at peace.

We must never forget that.

The people of each sects shall spar together.

The final winner

will fight with the demon

and try to slay it

in order to retrieve the flower

that we've put on top of it.

Our mission is to

capture the demon and bring it back.

This mission is different from a normal contest.

It is very dangerous.

That's why we decided to draw lots,

just like what we did last time.

The lots have been placed.

This year,

Lord Dong Fang will draw the lots.

Brother Dong Fang, please.

Our demon today

is the demon who has been wreaking havoc on Mount Lutai.

Many villagers have been harmed.

Those who had witnessed it

said that its wings are as wide as five feet.

Its howl sounds like a child's cry.

And it devours human underwater.

From these characteristics,

I'm sure it is the long-lost vicious beast,

Gudiao.

It's Gudiao!

Seems like the heavens are helping us.

As long as we get Gudiao's horns and refined them into Weeping Tears,

Xuan Ji can leave Mingxia Cave.

Who's been eavesdropping on our conversation?

Come out!

Come out right now!

Master.

Why are you guys here?

Aunt.

They're just kids.

Elder Ling Shi, you don't need to be angry.

They're still young and ignorant.

Sorry for the embarrassment.

Two of you, get out immediately.

So, it's a misunderstanding.

But everyone here must participate in this event.

If not, the rules will be broken.

You!

Father, I would like to join.

I'll capture Gudiao.

I've trained for more than ten years.

Please let me go.

Good. Like father, like daughter.

Miss Chu, I'm impressed.

-You-- -The Shaoyang Sect

has always treated demon slaying as our mission.

We will never retreat.

Master, I would like to join as well.

Seems like there are many young talents in the Shaoyang Sect.

Sect Leader Chu, you have nothing to fear.

Fine.

Since that's the case,

we should include their names.

Master,

I'll write the names.

We'll start now.

Let's see who'll be the first chosen one.

The lord of Fuyu Island, Dong Fang Qing Qi?

Seems like I was lucky.

I'm flattered.

Let's look at the second lot.

Shaoyang Sect, the elder of Xiaoyang Peak,

Chu Ying Hong.

I'm flattered.

The third lot.

The golden disciple of Lize Palace,

Yu Si Feng.

It's Yu Si Feng!

He's as handsome as always.

You are something indeed.

Seems like he has the same age as Xuan Ji.

He's barely old enough to attend the session,

yet he's already chosen for the mission?

Seems like he's pretty powerful.

The fourth lot.

Shaoyang Sect, disciple of Shouyang Peak,

Zhong Min Yan.

Seems like I was chosen.

Elders, please forgive me.

Let's look at the fifth and sixth lot.

Sect leader of Shaoyang Sect,

Chu Lei.

Shaoyang Sect, disciple of Xuyang Peak,

Hao Chen.

My father was chosen!

It's good that both our sect leader and Hao Chen were chosen.

I was afraid I couldn't take care of Min Hao on my own.

Seems like

the Shaoyang Sect makes up the majority of the members.

Let's look at the last lot.

It's Shaoyang Sect again.

Shaoyang Sect, disciple of Xuyang Peak, Chu...

Chu Xuan Ji.

Master, I don't know what happened either.

My mind went blank,

my hand was shaking,

and I wrote Xuan Ji instead of Ling Long.

Master, please punish me.

But Father, since that had happened,

we must keep our words since the other sects are observing us.

Don't think that I don't know what you two are plotting.

So what if you can save her from Mingxia Cave

for now?

Do you think you can really change her?

But if we expose her to the world,

maybe she'll recover her senses.

Maybe she'll feel happy,

sad, or something like that.

Am I right?

Senior,

the protective barrier is stable for now.

And Junior Xuan Ji's name

was included in the mission as well.

We must keep our words. I think

we should let her out for now.

And if she's still emotionless after the mission,

we'll send her back to Mingxia Cave.

Yeah.

Master, Senior is right.

Fine.

Since Hao Chen had said so,

we'll do just that.

I'm so hungry.

Why isn't Sixth Senior here yet?

Xuan Ji!

Xuan Ji!

Xuan Ji!

Ling Long!

Xuan Ji!

-Ling Long! -Xuan Ji!

This place is so cold!

-Ling Long! -It must've been tough.

Let me have a look.

I'm fine. I'm not cold at all.

Why are you hurt?

Come, we'll leave this place.

Wait, Ling Long. Can I leave now?

-Are you cold? -Xuan Ji,

you were chosen for the Flower Picking Mission.

Flower Picking Mission?

But I have never met a demon before.

How could I defeat it?

Silly girl, you don't need to do so.

This is just a plan to save you.

Let's go, okay?

What should we do in the future?

I don't want to return to this place.

You won't.

We'll proceed step by step.

Let's leave this place for now, okay?

Sister, will I be able to

enjoy delicious food when I go out?

You can eat as much as you want. Let's go.

-Let's go! -Let's go.

Si Feng,

it is a must for disciples

of the Lize Palace to wear masks.

First, outsiders will think twice before approaching us.

Second,

it is used to protect your true nature.

So that you can be focused at all times.

Since you've lost your mask,

you mustn't be distracted by other things.

So that you'll not commit another mistake.

I understand.

Chu Xuan Ji.

Chu Xuan Ji.

You're here indeed.

Little Stammer, it's you?

Why aren't you a stammer anymore?

I'm very smart.

By the way, I've been worried about you these few days.

They said masks in Lize Palace weren't supposed to be removed.

But I removed your mask. Are you okay?

You don't need to care.

But Lize Palace is strange indeed.

Why does everyone like to hide their faces behind a mask?

Little Stammer, you have a little mole here.

Do you cry a lot?

I've never shed tears before.

Chu Xuan Ji, listen up.

I'm going to retrieve my mask.

Bring me to the secret ground again.

The secret ground? No way.

I can agree with anything except for that.

My father sent me to Mingxia Cave for that. I had to suffer, you know?

I'm not going.

I'll agree to any condition you give me.

No.

Don't blame me for this.

Let me down! I'm not going to the secret ground!

Let me go! I don't want to go there anymore!

I don't want to return to Mingxia Cave!

-Open the entrance for me. -Listen up.

The entrance won't be opened unless I do it willingly.

Are you saying that you can open it if you do it willingly?

That's why you shouldn't force me. I won't open the entrance for you.

My father would lock me up in Mingxia Cave forever if I do so.

Ling Long and Sixth Senior wouldn't need to find Gudiao

in order to obtain its horns then.

You guys want to obtain Gudiao's horns?

Dream on.

Although we're not as powerful as you,

we can try.

How about this?

If I obtain Gudiao's horns for you,

you'll bring me to the secret ground.

Really?

And I won't let your father find out that you sneak in.

What do you think?

That's a deal.

You!

You don't like it?

I'll wipe it off then.

Get away from me!

Yu Si Feng, we meet again.

Why are you colder than the rocks in Mingxia Cave?

I'm not that familiar with you.

Little Stammer?

He hasn't been a mute for a long time.

Sixth Senior, can we fly together later?

Xuan Ji,

I have a stomachache. I need to go to the loo.

You can leave first. I'll catch up later.

I...

Little Stammer,

can we fly together later?

My father and the rest are too fast.

I'll fall off when I fly with them.

And he'll scold me.

No. I'm too fast for you. And it is inappropriate as well.

Xuan Ji.

-Father. -Where's Min Yan?

Sixth Senior said he was going to the loo because of a stomachache.

My goodness. You'll fly with me later.

I...

Uncle, why don't you let me fly with Xuan Ji?

Xuan Ji, don't worry. I'll fly slowly.

It's decided then.

Little Six, why are you only here by now?

I've been waiting for a long time.

I'm bringing you along in secret. We mustn't let Master find out.

Don't worry.

Is it fun?

It's my fault.

I still don't know how to fly when I'm at this age.

If not, I could fly by myself.

-Senior Hao Chen, you can go faster. -Okay.

Okay.

Brace yourself.
