LOVE AND REDEMPTION

Episode 9 Subbed by Productive Procrastination

You're wearing that mask all because of me.

But don't worry

I will help you find

a way to remove the lover's curse mask.

I told you

that is my choice.

You do not need to feel so guilty over it.

I can focus on my cultivation if I don't have any feelings it's not bad.

How is it any good?

Cultivation is a long and difficult process.

And now you have to force yourself to be unfeeling.

Wouldn't life be so boring?

It's not good.

Enough.

Don't worry about it.

I will definitely help you find a resolution.

Oh yes.

Come.

Come out.

I must hurry and return your little spiritual pet.

She was not easy to handle during our trip to the Heavenly Realm.

Little Yinhua

you've been mischievous?

Thank you Brother Liu.

Why thank me?

Enough.

I'm going.

Xuanji.

Are you ready?

Linglong!

Isn't that the bell Sifeng gave you?

You must contact each other often right?

How is he now?

After I went to Xuyang Peak,

Senior Hao Chen confiscated all my things.

That's why I haven't contacted him in 4 years.

You haven't contacted him in 4 years?

Xuanji.

Back then Sifeng kept telling me to contact him when you woke up.

Besides, even if it was confiscated

you can write a letter to him.

Write a letter?

I am busy cultivating every day

I never thought about it.

You're so careless.

Did you forget about him?

Besides, you didn't contact me once

after leaving for Xuyang Peak.

If I was not your elder sister I would refuse to have anything to do with you.

How is that possible Linglong?

I really miss you.

I only feel that I should put you in my heart.

Besides,

whether it's my sister or my friend, you'll always be that right?

I was thinking that after I enjoyed some success in cultivation

when time comes I could be reunited with you sooner.

It would be the same with Sifeng.

We made a promise

that we would see the world together.

That's why does it matter whether we contact each other in 4 years or not?

But Xuanji a relationship needs maintenance.

No one will wait for you in the same place.

I thought because your cultivation improved

so you would understand a bit about it.

I never expected that you're the same regarding your interpersonal skills.

Linglong.

Will Sifeng be upset

that I didn't contact him?

Will he ignore me?

Well....

I don't know.

No, no.

Sifeng must be busy at Lize Palace.

He needs to cultivate too.

He must be busy cultivating every day so forgot about it.

It's fine.

I will go find him as soon as I leave Mount Shaoyang.

Then the four of us can travel the world together.

It will be fun.

Yellow fruit wine.

Splendid wine.

Xuanji.

I was unable to ask in front of everyone

but did you find the whereabouts of the shards of the Bahuang mirror while at Xuyang Peak?

It's fine.

Perhaps we can find it when we leave the mountain?

6th Senior Brother.

I will not look for it anymore.

Senior Hao Chen told me

that people are born different.

And I am always like this.

I should exist to protect the secret realm.

I shouldn't look for the Bahuang mirror and get my 6 senses back.

If I do that, what if I get inner demons?

I see.

Then did that mysterious power before ever appear again?

That's good.

Then let's not look for it.

Oh yes 6th Senior Brother.

Let me show you something.

There is a celestial fruit tree in Xuyang Peak

where the fruit it produces is delicious.

But it only bear fruit every five years,

so I saved a few for you, Linglong and Sifeng.

You little gluttonous thing. You learned to save good things for others?

Not bad.

I was right to dote on you.

You're unlike your sister.

I don't know what she's thinking about.

Minyan!

-Linglong? -Minyan!

Linglong plans to perform the flower drum dance with a male disciple.

6th Senior Brother this...

Xuanji.

Your 6th senior brother doesn't like drinking wine or eating fruit

so I'll take them all.

This...I...

Sect Leader,

apart from the failed shadow demon we sent to the Shaoyang Sect,

we have managed to plant some spies in the other sects.

Only because the shadow demon was exposed

the other sects may suspect something.

So I believe

we should not do anything for now.

And wait for our chance to retrieve the spiritual key.

We have to wait longer?

Until when?

Sect Leader

we...

Who's there?

You were unable to find

the whereabouts of the God of War or the Star of Mosha nor able to retrieve the spiritual key.

Dilang,

was it because you were too merciful

so you were unable to find anything?

Wu Tong.

Do you have a say

in a place like this?

The Sect Leader let you stay at Tianxu Sect

so you could tell us a bit more

about the cultivating sects.

Be a good dog.

As you're a dog with no home

then don't go around barking.

The Tianxu Sect allows anyone capable to speak.

The person who is unable to complete his tasks has no right to speak.

What do you think Dilang?

I don't want us to expose our true condition so soon.

Sect Leader.

I want to avoid confronting the cultivating sects

and make us lose more tribesmen.

The demon tribe has been secretly training our forces for 1000 years. Our powers surpass the expectation of the cultivating sects.

If those cultivating sects are unwilling to cooperate

then we can kill them all.

Why hide in the corner?

You want to seek revenge for the merciless treatment of the mortals right?

Wu Tong.

Don't borrow our power for your selfish desires.

It's because I'm a mortal

that's why I know how to control them.

How to force them.

How to deal a blow to them.

Sect Leader,

why don't you give me a chance?

I can annihilate the 5 sects for you and retrieve the spiritual key.

Sect Leader,

Wu Tong is merely

a dog that has been banished from his sect.

You must not trust him.

But this dog with no home

was able to find out that Xuanyuan tricked you.

What?

Guards!

Xuanyuan's Lingshi led you on a wild goose chase

but actually one of the spiritual keys

is the Heavenly Pearl hidden within Xuanyuan's Heavenly Pearl.

You were deceived.

Speak.

Yes. The spiritual key is hidden within Xuanyuan's Heavenly Pearl.

But only Sect Leader Zhushi knows

where the Heavenly Pearl is.

Dilang.

You even chose the wrong person to threaten and force?

Compared to Lingshi who swears to protect the reputation of the sect

isn't the selfish and cowardly Moshi is easier to control?

Damn!

Sect Leader please give me a chance

to help you retrieve the spiritual key.

We have been silent for too long.

It's now time to make the water murky.

That way the fish will come up.

Wu Tong.

Starting from today

you will head the school at Mount Buzhou.

Mount Buzhou is a place the 5 cultivating sects cannot touch.

You do not have to fear.

So you will not have to fear about being caught.

You may use whatever means to help me get the key.

Yes Sect Leader.

The Tianxu Sect has been quiet for too long.

It's time to make an appearance.

Sifeng greets Master, Deputy Chief.

Sifeng,

I am very pleased that you have

mastered the technique.

You always were naturally talented.

As long as your mind remains undistracted and focus on your cultivation

in the future we will be the most powerful sect

I will hand you my position sooner or later.

At least your hard work did not go to waste,

by forcing him to wear the mask and helping him to calm his mind.

Yu Sifeng,

do not your master down

and repeat your mistakes.

That is in the past

do not bring it up again.

It was only a friendly reminder.

The lover's curse mask

although can calm his mind

and stop him falling in love,

but if he forms another deep friendship

and swayed by love again

then the lover's curse will take root in his body

and he will only die.

Stop saying nonsense!

Sifeng,

you know what

the lover's curse mask is right?

Giving up all feelings

and not have great shifts in mood.

That is good.

Also the rest of you.

You must always remember that the outsiders

are merely like the moon in the water, the flower in the mirror.

Only the Lize Palace is your home.

We remember.

I haven't finished yet.

You must not for those illisionary meaningless feelings

put your life at stake and lose your path home.

We remember.

Enough.

Let's talk about leaving the palace to train.

Deputy Chief.

I am sure you know about leaving the palace to train.

You will leave tomorrow.

Do not break the rules of the palace.

I received a message by pigeon from the Shaoyang Sect a few days ago,

saying that the demons in the mainland are causing havoc.

You can investigate this

during your training in the outside world.

These demons, devils,

what has it got to do with us?

They will not be able to reach the west sea

Let them cause havoc in the mainland.

Senior you ignore what goes on

and only care about ensuring peace here.

But you must give some face to the other 4 sects.

After all we are on the same side.

You're in charge.

Then investigate it on your way.

Xuanji.

I gave you that messenger talisman,

you know what to do when you leave right?

Foolish Xuanji,

Senior Hao Chen is telling you to write a letter to him.

But Senior Hao Chen

We will be very busy when we leave the mountain,

she might find it troublesome.

Perhaps....

she won't even remember.

You must remember to write, you're naive and simple

and do not have your 6 senses.

The people outside are complicated the human heart is hard to read.

I am worried about letting you leave anyway.

Only I am unable to change the rules of the sect otherwise....

That is why after you leave the mountain

you must tell me what happened during your time there and your thoughts on those matters.

First, it will help you reflect.

Second,

I can find out what you gained from the experience.

Understand?

I will follow your instruction.

Be careful.

The two of you remember if you run into any trouble

when you're outside just do what you can.

Don't act rashly.

Xuanji,

you must listen to your 6th Senior Brother more.

Linglong.

You must curb your temper in.

I got it Father.

You've never left the sect before

so your father is worried.

You must keep in mind

the things he tells you.

Ok, ok I remember.

Then I'll be going.

You!

That child.

Father.

Aunt Yinghong,

Senior Hao Chen,

don't worry.

We know.

Master.

Aunt Yinghong.

Don't worry.

I will take care of my juniors.

Linglong wait for us!

Linglong!

Wait for me!

So pretty.

We finally left the mountain!

So beautiful.

Senior Hao Chen

we spent another day doing nothing again.

Today 6th Senior Brother ordered a pretty bad chicken dish

at the Mengxi Restaurant in the hills.

Was it not good?

Good. Then we will not order it tomorrow.

We can save some money.

Great!

Tomorrow we will go to West Su

there are so many delicious food there.

There's...

pig trotters, mung bean jelly, and spicy cold cut chicken.

Then we would use all our money on food.

We can only hope that Sifeng will help us out when we get to Lize Palace.

We've left 7 days already

but have not seen a single demon.

I don't feel I'm upholding justice at all.

Look at what Xuanji is writing to Senior Hao Chen.

She's either writing I am very happy or I ate this thing.

Ok.

We've finished today's task.

Let's go.

Ok.

Senior Hao Chen

we spent another day doing nothing again.

Today 6th Senior Brother ordered a pretty bad chicken dish

at the Mengxi restaurant in the hills.

Luckily those vegetables were delicious.

I am very happy today.

Where are we?

Let's go and ask around.

Warriors! Sorry for the disturbance.

Looking at your outfits, you must be cultivators.

Do you know how long it will take us

to get to Mount Shaoyang?

May I ask why you wish to visit Mount Shaoyang?

Is there a demon at your village troubling you?

Exactly.

We've from Wangxian Town.

There have been demons causing trouble at our town recently.

They let out howls and cries in the middle of the night. People are so scared they refuse to leave their homes.

It's been like this for 3 months.

We can't let it continue.

I heard a Daoist monk who traveled here say

that the Shaoyang Sect is the most famous cultivating sect around

so we wish to appoint a cultivator to get rid of it.

Wangxian Town?

That is on our way to Lize Palace and Xuanyuan Sect.

We can get rid of the demon and then go find Sifeng.

That's great!

We have demons to get rid of!

Uncle we've decided to help you cleanse your town from the demons.

This...

May I ask...

We are disciples from Shaoyang.

This is our seal.

Please can you tell us more about the demons at the town.

We will do our best to help you.

Warrior, you're too young

and there are two girls with you.

I think,

you shouldn't give your lives up for this.

We will go visit Mount Shaoyang

and ask your master to come.

Farewell.

Wait.

Wait.

Uncle, we may be young

but we have made our name in society.

She seems weak but they call her the pale-faced extinguisher of evil.

She can kill a dozen demons in one go.

A-A dozen?

Then let's try them?

6th Senior Brother!

When was I able to kill a dozen demons?

Didn't that shadow demon split into a dozen entities?

That's different.

This is a hard to come by chance. Let's accept it first.

I'm her senior.

As for her....

Not important.

Xiao Liuzi!

We left Shaoyang to get rid of the demons in the world.

Why go so far when you have us?

As that is so then please can the three of you assist us?

The Wangxian Town

has a Mount Haiwan

There is a plant there called Zhuyu.

And this Zhuyu plant

is only found in Wangxian Town.

What's strange is that it's impossible to grow this plant.

It can only be found in the wild.

But one day 3 months ago,

when some of our townsmen went to remove it,

we didn't expect

that all of them would be eaten by a demon!

And then

a few brave young men from the town

went up the mountain together

and what happens?

None of them returned.

Uncle, have you seen

the appearance of that demon?

The demon attacks humans from behind.

So no one has seen them before.

However,

I have a small grandson who just learned how to speak

and said he saw a crying demon.

-It can cry... -Has 2 large claws...

And can fly.

But we can't take the words of a child seriously so...

A demon who has wings

and can cry is scary, right?

Linglong, Linglong.

Look.

This demon manual says that

a demon that has wings and can cry is a

Quru bird?

But it does say in the book

that he likes to eat Zhuyu plants?

Could it be that someone

wanted to steal some food

so purposefully caused this?

As that is so then we must not delay.

Let's hurry and take a look.

Be careful in a bit.

It's just a Quru bird.

As it likes to eat

then I will let it taste my Duanjing!

It doesn't look like there's just one.

We should be careful.

Even if there's 8 or 10 it's fine!

This mountain is so quiet.

There are demons here

of course no one dares to come here.

The Zhuyu plant smells quite nice.

Linglong

the Zhuyu plant is so delicious.

It's a waste to treat it like this.

Xuanji.

It's so dirty!

How can you eat it like that?

It's delicious.

Linglong try it.

I don't want to.

6th Senior Brother.

I will not eat it.

Foolish girl.

Linglong look.

The cut made here is not even.

It doesn't look like something sliced it.

It looks like it was pulled up.

It's true.

Look there's some there too.

It looks like it's not easy to deal with the demon who is causing trouble.

Xiao Liuzi,

when were you so cowardly?

-How can you be afraid? -No you...

There's a demonic aura.

Everyone be careful!

It's the Quru bird!

It ran off so quickly! Let's chase it!

Such a strong demonic aura.

I can smell it too.

It stinks of blood.

Disgusting.

It's so dank down there.

I can't see anything.

Xuanji.

Be careful Linglong.

Linglong are you ok?

I'm fine.

You be careful.

Xiao Liuzi!

Linglong!

Linglong are you hurt anywhere?

I'm fine.

Be careful!

-Xuanji! -Xuanji!

-Xuanji! -Xuanji!

Xuanji!

-Xuanji! -Xuanji!

Sifeng?

Sifeng!

Sifeng!

-Xuanji! -Xuanji!

Xuanji!

Why are you bleeding?

I'm fine.

Foolish girl, how can you be fine?

I am Ruo Yu from Lize Palace.

Greetings.

Will Sifeng be back in a moment?

Miss.

Sifeng he...

We're Sifeng best friends.

That's great!

I didn't expect to see Sifeng here.

You say you're Sifeng's friends,

that is so strange.

What's so strange about it?

I heard that the disciples of Lize Palace do not make friends with outsiders right?

That is for everyone else but Sifeng is different.

It's the same for everyone!

Sifeng is different.

Sifeng!

Did you catch them?

The Quru bird got a fright so they escaped.

Escaped?

It was you three!

You ruined our plans!

You!

Never mind, don't say so much.

Ruo Yu let's go.

Sifeng!

Sifeng it really is you.

You got a new mask?

I almost didn't recognize you.

It's been 4 years.

I thought that my cultivation had improved a lot.

I thought I could protect everyone.

I never expected that you improved more than me.

You saved me again this time.

The Quru birds like to be in a flock.

We need to treat it like a battle

be prepared next time.

Don't cause trouble for others.

Sifeng!

Good brother!

It's been a long time!

Sifeng, we haven't seen each other in 4 years. We were planning to go to Lize Palace to see you!

Let go!

Stay away from Sifeng!

You're so rude.

Who are you?

It's none of your business who I am!

Everyone calm down.

This is Miss Lu Yanran from Dianjing Valley.

She couldn't find her seniors

that's why she is out training with us.

We...

We are not here to save you.

We were hiding here waiting for the Quru birds to take us back to their lair.

Who knew the three of you fools would come?

After you came you ruin our plans!

How would we know what plan you had?

You talk as if we held you back!

That's the truth.

Sifeng.

As we've not been able to find the Quru bird's lair,

then let's go back to the inn.

Sure, sure.

Where are you staying at?

We can live together!

And then go train together!

We're not heading to the same direction.

Miss Xuanji we have to help Miss Lu find her seniors.

so it's not convenient to be together.

I hope you can understand.

No need to say anymore.

Let's go.

Sifeng!

Are you leaving?

We really miss you!

We finally met can you not go?

Indeed.

Why are you leaving as soon?

Sifeng.

Is it because Xuanji did not contact you,

so you're upset?

Right.

Linglong said

that you've been waiting for news from me.

I'm sorry Sifeng.

It's my bad.

That messenger bell it...

No.

I lost that messenger bell long ago too.

It's a useless item.

That's good then.

I knew it.

Sifeng you're so busy

you must have lots of things to do.

We don't have to contract each other right?

After all we'll meet again right?

I am very busy.

So I will not waste my time here.

Sifeng!

Everyone.

Farewell.

-Xuanji! -Xuanji!

-Xuanji! -Xuanji!

What's wrong?

What's wrong?

Xuanji was poisoned?

Why is the Quru bird poisonous?

Sifeng.

Miss Xuanji's injuries seem a little serious.

We...

Are we going to ignore her?

Sifeng. I heard the Lize Palace are most skilled at treating poisonings.

Are you going to leave her here?

Xiao Liuzi.

Will Xuanji be ok?

I clearly remember that

the manual stated that the

Quru bird is not poisonous.

How could this happen?

That's right.

So we believe someone is controlling these Quru birds.

The mastermind must have painted their claws with poison.

If you didn't stick your nose in this we would have captured that demon long ago!

What happens?

Now we're stuck here.

Harbinger of bad luck.

What delay?

Sifeng was meeting up with us old friends.

We would be together regardless!

We have things to talk about.

If you're unwilling to stay then go!

It's just in your imagination!

What things does Sifeng have to talk to you about?

Didn't you see how Sifeng wanted to ignore you?

You!

I think it's because you're afraid you can't beat the Quru birds

so you want Sifeng to remain to help you out, right?

You!

There are some people who are useless

so they want to borrow the Lize Palace.

I...

What I, I, I?

Say a little less.

Sifeng.

Sifeng don't go!

Sifeng.

Sifeng!

Don't go.

I just cured you so don't move.

Sifeng.

I know you're angry.

I was too stupid.

When I first went to Xuyang Peak

to cultivate with Senior Hao Chen,

he wanted me to focus on cultivation

so he confiscated my bell.

I did not know what way I could have contact other people.

So in these 4 years

I even forgot to write a letter to Linglong and 6th Senior Brother.

Linglong is very angry too.

You do not need to explain it to me.

There's no other way I can contact you.

Sifeng.

Why do you have to go?

We originally planned to go to Lize Palace to find you.

Isn't it good that we ran into each other here?

Why do you have to go?

Why do we have to be together?

Because we promised each other.

That the few of us would leave our sects

and train together.

Childish.

Really?

But later on I discovered that there was nothing that is definite.

It's the same with the promise of a friend.

Sifeng.

I...

I don't understand.

Back then I...

Back then I did promise to find the Bahuang mirror for you.

I never break my word.

I accidentally came across a piece.

For you.

Sifeng.

I didn't mean that.

Besides, this Bahuang mirror

I...don't need it anymore.

Senior Hao Chen said

that if I look for the mirror

I will be trapped in desire and obsession.

I will get an inner demon.

will affect my cultivation.

That's why before I left I promised Senior Hao Chen

that I will not find the Bahuang mirror again.

But Sifeng.

I have to thank you.

So...

you don't want your 6 senses?

I...I was born without it, perhaps it's fate.

It doesn't seem that important.

The Chu Xuanji of now is fine too.

Right?

Humans change their minds constantly, it is never the same.

Just as I expected.

Sifeng what did you say?

As it's useless then we don't need to see each other again.

Farewell.

Sifeng! Sifeng!

Sifeng don't go!

-Sifeng! -Xuanji.

Xuanji why did you come out?

Sifeng.

Is she fine now?

She can move as she wish after she rests.

You can leave in a bit.

We can handle the Quru bird issue.

Let's go.

-Wait Sifeng! -Sifeng!

What do you mean by this?

How can you say you, us?

Right.

Aren't we going to capture the Quru bird together?

We don't need so many people. Why go to that trouble?

It's not whether it's troublesome or not.

Sifeng.

I thought that it would be a happy occasion when we reunite.

But why do you avoid us as if we are monsters?

Sifeng.

What happened?

Sifeng you don't need to say so much to them.

Let's go.

Sifeng!

What's going on?

Why are the Quru birds coming to find us?

Why are there so many of them?

There's even more of them now!

Raise the barrier!

Why did many Quru birds came?

Didn't you say someone was controlling them?

They have been blocked by the barrier yet refuse to leave.

I think they want to trap us here.

If we're capable we can get up

and won't be trapped.

Warrior Zhong.

You're not bad

but you have 2 people who are dragging us back, so it's hard.

Stop looking down on us.

If you're so capable you go.

When Xuanji recovers her energy we can handle these Quru birds

and that person behind these Quru birds.

It's fine Miss Lu.

We can go.

Foolish girl.

She doesn't care about us.

These Quru birds all left their lair and their claws are covered in poison

so it's too risky to make a break out now.

Sifeng what do you think?

Let's disturb their lair then.

Are you planning to use that method?

Capture the king first before its followers. It's better to resolve this quickly.

Sifeng.

What are you doing?

Sifeng is casting a secret spell of the Lize Palace.

It's called the soul finding spell. It can help us find where the thing controlling the Quru birds is hiding.

I, the center of the formation, may the fire from the stars gathering up,

find the soul 1000 miles away, attack it as fast as wind!

Search!

Sifeng!

Sifeng are you ok?

There are caves 10 miles to the west of here.

Once you pass through the middle one you will find a dark alley.

The one controlling the birds is there.

They are injured by me and unable to move

so you can use this chance to capture him.

Sifeng.

If you want to capture the demon let them.

Your Qi is in chaos right now you need to settle it.

I'll stay and guard you.

No need.

That demon is quite powerful.

One more person means one more chance.

But you're here!

-So much to say? -What if...

If that demon escapes

it'll be because of your hesitancy.

Then be careful.

If there's danger inform us.

Let's go.

Sifeng you...

Xuanji let's go.

I...

Sifeng are you ok?

Why are you...

I thought about it.

I can't leave you here alone. I'll keep you company.

Until you recover.

No need.

Sifeng!

It won't work if you forcefully summon up Qi.

Don't move.

If you open up your Dantian forcefully it'll be dangerous!

Sifeng. Why is your Qi getting more and more chaotic?

Are you feeling unwell?

Does it hurt anywhere?

Why are you sweating so much?

This won't work.

I have to help you move your Qi around from your head but your mask...

Don't touch it!

I want to help you!

Not touching me is helping me!

Sifeng is still upset me. He refuses to speak to me.

What must I do to ease his anger?

Oh yes,

in the past when Linglong and 6th Senior Brother were arguing

how did 6th Senior Brother cheer her up?

Sifeng!

Why are you sweating so much?

You're going to catch a cold like this.

Let me wipe it for you.

What are you doing?

I'm helping you wipe your sweat Sifeng.

You'll catch a cold.

Say you don't know how to take care of yourself.

Without me what would happen to you?

The sweat is gone.

Sifeng.

This dried fruit is so sweet.

I only have one, so I couldn't bear to eat it.

I left it specially for you.

Try it.

It accidentally cocked itself.

Is it funny?

Sifeng is it funny?

Is it funny? Is it funny?

Is it funny?

Is it not funny?

I have another way.

Sifeng look.

I am hiding a treasure in one of my hands.

Before we had lots to talk about and lots to share.

Besides you taught me many things.

Sifeng you told me that meeting me was the most fortunate thing that happen to you.

Although I was asleep

but I heard.

I was young and reckless so spoke a little rashly.

Don't take it to heart.

It's meaningless.

It is meaningful.

The way you were like before, the way you used to speak,

to me it's meaningful.

I don't want things to change between us.

I don't want to lose you Sifeng!
