LOVE AND REDEMPTION

EPISODE 48

I wanted to pass this position to Elder Luo.

Brother Liu, why did you stop me?

If I didn’t stop you,

I’d have to see you bang your head on the wall,

put a Loveless Curse on yourself, and pretend to be the Star of Mosha

until you’re half-dead.

Now, I even have to see you pass all your duties to someone

and find a place to die alone.

Isn’t that what you’re thinking, Little Phoenix?

The power of the divine weapons are raging within me.

I don’t know how long I can last.

So, you’re worried that you might succumb to the divine weapons’ powers,

and the powers would render you into pieces.

Even when you die, the divine weapons may fall into the wrong hands

and cause the soul of Star of Mosha to be released.

By then, Xuan Ji will become Asura zombie herself.

That’s why you have to stay away from Xuan Ji

even when you die, right?

Fine.

While I was tidying up just now,

I found a Heartless Pill left by your father.

Since you’re letting go of her,

you should take this pill to end this once and for all.

You can start again.

No, no.

No!

Xuan Ji.

Xuan Ji, you’re awake. How are you feeling?

Stinky woman.

Why...

Wasn’t I at the secret ground

destroying the soul of Star of Mosha?

- Why am I... - You passed out from exhaustion.

Father has resealed the Jade Cup.

Was it Father who resealed it?

Why do I recall

seeing Si Feng?

Why, you must be confused.

You fainted at the secret ground and Father resealed the Jade Cup.

Then, Flying Snake brought you out.

Ask him if you don’t believe me.

Right, Flying Snake?

Is that what happened?

Don’t you even know what you’ve seen?

I was probably hallucinating.

Xuan Ji.

Father and I didn’t know

that destroying the contents of the Jade Cup would cost your life.

Had we known that, we wouldn’t have let you go.

Promise me this.

Don’t neglect your well-being, okay?

Yes, and I need to tell you this.

You can’t destroy the soul of Star of Mosha.

Senior Hao Chen got it all wrong.

Don’t do this again, got it?

He got it wrong?

Little Fox.

Where’s my booze?

Little Fox.

Little Fox.

Little Fox.

Marvelous wine!

One jar isn’t enough.

It’s not? There’s more in Lize Palace’s cellars.

Little Si Feng brought the palace’s disciples away,

and the demons in Sky Hall are gone.

You have more than enough wine to last you for your entire life.

That would be wonderful.

Little Fox.

Don’t you find Si Feng weird?

You see, he finally made it back here, and he’s already occupied.

It’s not easy to be a human or a demon.

That’s why you should live happily and freely.

Why must you care so much about other people’s feelings?

And he just had to choose something no one would do

until he’s miserable and glum.

I don’t understand him.

Yes, you won’t understand him.

After all, freedom matters the most to you.

You’ll never understand.

For some humans and demons,

there are things more important than freedom.

So what if it brings misery?

He did so willingly.

We’re missing some food to go with the wine.

I’m going to get some food.

Stinky woman, why are you here again?

Are you still trying to destroy the soul of Star of Mosha?

Before Senior Hao Chen died,

he kept reminding me to destroy the Jade Cup.

But I haven’t done so yet.

And I don’t know why, but the more I want to destroy it,

the more my heart aches.

And I think I saw

the moment when the soul of Star of Mosha was taken out.

You saw it?

It wasn’t clear.

I only saw some shadows.

But I can clearly feel

the pain when the Star of Mosha had his soul ripped off.

How strange.

Maybe it’s because you’re somehow connected to him.

Is it because I killed the Star of Mosha and sealed his soul?

But I don’t think that’s the case.

Or, perhaps the Star of Mosha has possessed my mind.

I think I dreamed about Si Feng.

Perhaps I wasn’t strong enough.

That’s why I couldn’t fulfill Senior Hao Chen’s wish.

As long as the soul of Star of Mosha remains,

the three realms will remain threatened.

I’m going to try again.

No, you can’t.

You’ll die.

You’ll die, get it?

Sacrificing for the people is my destiny.

Besides, I don’t want Si Feng to become the demon lord.

Who told you Si Feng would become the demon lord?

Who said you have to die to save the world?

Destiny, you say?

I thought you never believed in destiny.

So, your senior blurted some nonsense before he died,

and you’re going to bang your head on the wall?

Flying Snake!

I am just speaking the truth.

Your senior is dead.

Does that make his words truthful?

Well, the soul of Star of Mosha has not been released,

but even if the soul returns to its body,

will he really go on a killing spree in the three realms

and endanger the people?

Is there something you know?

I only know that

the story about the Star of Mosha ending the world is just speculation.

No one knows what the Star of Mosha would do.

Not even the Jade Emperor knows!

The Star of Mosha hasn’t done anything yet.

Why is he seen as the doom of the world

and sentenced to eternal damnation?

Why are you sacrificing yourself

for something that hasn’t happened yet?

Your senior must have told you to take precautions

and end everything before it starts, even if it’s very likely that

it won’t even happen.

But Senior Hao Chen always said that

the appearance of the Star of Mosha is sure to bring disaster.

He’s just using your trust to make you do the things he deemed right!

Xuan Ji, the Jade Cup has been resealed.

There’s no danger anymore, so...

Flying Snake.

Is my father really capable

of sealing the Jade Cup?

I must see for myself.

Forget it.

Why keep it a secret?

She has to know someday.

What is this?

Isn’t this the seal of the Rose Gold Bird?

You almost perished with the soul of Star of Mosha.

It was him who saved you

and depleted all his powers to reseal the Jade Cup.

That was a huge blow to his health.

Everyone hopes you won’t know about this,

Si Feng included.

So it wasn’t a dream.

But why did he do that?

Isn’t he the Star of Mosha?

Wouldn’t he want to open the Jade Cup?

I am not the Star of Mosha.

I have never harmed anyone.

I am here today to kill Yuan Lang.

Shut up!

Si Feng!

No.

He killed my master.

He killed Senior Hao Chen.

He injured Aunt Ying Hong.

But no one has ever seen him in action, right?

I think there must be some misunderstanding.

But it’s a fact that he’s not the Star of Mosha.

He pretended to be the Star of Mosha to remove Yuan Lang from the picture.

After all, our biggest threat

isn’t the unseen Star of Mosha, but the nefarious Yuan Lang.

Is that so?

So, which part of him convinced you that he’s the Star of Mosha?

He took down our biggest enemy

and risked his life to reseal the Jade Cup.

The Jade Cup is stable now.

I don’t know.

I think there are many things that you will have to clarify.

- Father. - What are you doing here now?

I need to go to Lize Palace.

I need to ask Si Feng something.

No need.

They have left their palace.

I’ve asked Min Xing to scout around.

All the barriers surrounding Lize Palace have been removed.

Only an empty palace remains.

All the Rose Gold Bird Demons are missing now.

I don’t know if Lize Palace

is truly giving up or hiding themselves to plot a bigger conspiracy.

Then I have to go there!

Master.

Master.

A disciple saw Wu Tong around Mount Buzhou.

Wu Tong?

Did Yu Si Feng bring his horde of demons back to Mount Buzhou?

Keep a closer eye on him.

Remember, Ling Long must not know about this.

Well... Ling Long has left.

She said she wants to kill Wu Tong herself.

What? That’s preposterous!

She is no match for Wu Tong!

Father, don’t worry, I’ll bring Ling Long back here.

She couldn’t have reached Mount Buzhou by now.

Maybe not.

Min Yan left a Black and White Ring on Wu Tong back then.

That means she can access Mount Buzhou easily.

Let go of me!

You’re finally here.

I’ve been waiting for you.

I’ve been wandering around Mount Buzhou for the past few days.

I knew

you’d come when you know that I’m here.

Your face tells me that

Zhong Min Yan is dead.

He won’t die.

Only you will.

To think you’re here for me even when he’s not dead yet.

Are you so eager to see me?

After all, we used to be so happy together.

You only cared about me.

No one but me.

You’d whisper sweet nothings into my ears every day.

That wasn’t... That wasn’t me!

What’s the point of denying the truth?

You still can’t escape from my hands.

Aren’t you right beside me now?

I’m going to make you wear a bridal veil today

and marry you.

Don’t rush.

When our bridal room is ready,

we have enough time to spend the rest of our lives together.

Wu Tong.

Today is the day you die.

There’s a Lightning Formation under your feet.

Do you think a mere Lightning Formation can kill me?

Yes, a normal formation is nothing to you.

But what if I sacrifice myself

to summon a Thunderous Calamity?

Wu Tong.

Judging from our powers,

a Thunderous Calamity should be enough to reduce us to ashes.

You’re going to die!

You...

Don’t you dare go anywhere.

Are you taking yourself down too just to kill me?

Fine.

That’s fair enough.

Since I can’t be with you in this life,

I’m satisfied enough to die with you.

A Thunderous Calamity? Something is up.

Keep your guard up, the gate is opening.

Look!

Who’s there?

Forget about that, let’s go!

- Lord Flying Snake. - Lord Flying Snake.

It’s me.

Surprised? Happy to see me?

Shen Shu, Yu Lu.

Are you two up for a round of entertainment with me?

A Thunderous Calamity.

Ling Long!

Ling Long!

Ling Long!

- Xuan Ji. - Let’s go.

Ling Long, why did you do this?

Hadn’t I made it here in time, you’d be...

Why did you do this?

Are you leaving me and Father behind?

What about Sixth Senior?

Don’t you care about him anymore?

Min Yan...

He probably won’t wake up anymore.

We vowed to live and die together,

so this is just another means to do so.

Live together...

The sword pierced through his heart meridian.

Any normal human would have died on the spot.

Everything is predestined, force does you no good.

I’m still going to force it.

I must save him.

As long as a shred of hope remains, I must save him.

If he lives, that will be wonderful.

If he doesn’t, I will die with him.

But what am I doing now?

Wu Tong.

Let’s settle our scores once and for all.

Where are your men?

Where are the demons in Sky Hall and Lize Palace?

I thought your lover, Yu Si Feng, disbanded the demons in Sky Hall.

Yuan Lang plotted for thousands of years

to throw the three realms into chaos,

and Yu Si Feng stopped his plans.

Didn’t you know?

You’re a clever lady, God of War.

Even when Yu Si Feng is the Star of Mosha,

he wouldn’t open the Jade Cup.

He would rather end his life to be with you.

Lies!

Ling Long.

What Wu Tong said

is the same as Flying Snake’s speculation.

Did Si Feng do all that because of Yuan Lang?

Don’t tell me

we’ve misunderstood Si Feng all this time.

Tell me.

Where are Si Feng and his followers?

How would I know?

He wants to kill me, I should be avoiding him.

But why are you in the dark too?

Didn’t he look for you?

Don’t tell me that when he killed Yuan Lang,

he killed himself as well.

Perhaps living as a murderous Demon Lord means nothing.

When you don’t have that one person you want,

everything is dull.

I’m killing you today!

Ling Long!

What’s going on?

Two humans are fighting in Mount Buzhou, so are you dazed or blind?

I...

If I were you, I would have ignored these two humans, me

and the God of War herself

so I wouldn’t have to report to the heavens

about you neglecting your duties.

What do you say?

Isn’t killing me enough to appease your anger?

You deserve to be cut into pieces!

You look nice even when you hate me.

Why do I only understand now that what I want

is not eradicating the sects

or taking revenge on everyone, but

having you look at me.

Since the first time I met you,

I’ve always wanted

to attract your gaze.

My lord, the gate to Fenru City is wide open.

If they don’t leave now,

they will be sucked into the oblivion of Fenru City

or even stuck there forever.

That’s it?

Oh no.

Let go of me!

Wu Tong, let go of me!

Let go of me!

Let go of me!

Let go of me!

Let go of me!

Let go of me, Wu Tong!

I’ve never understood the meaning of life.

I was fixated on taking revenge.

Now that I’m dying, I finally understand.

- Let go! - I’ve always wanted you.

Let go of me, I’m not dying with you!

Let go of me!

Let go of me, I’m not dying with you!

Stinky woman.

Let go of me!

Ling Long!

Xuan Ji!

Xuan Ji!

- Xuan Ji! - Ling Long.

Xuan Ji!

Why aren’t you crying, miss?

Don’t you have something you’re holding onto?

What’s there to hold onto?

I had nothing but a boring life.

Forget it.

You should forget it.

It’s the River of Forgetting.

That was Si Feng.

You’re weird for a music instructor.

Are you in love with me?

I...

I have never seen love.

And I don’t believe love exists.

You said you don’t believe in love.

This time, I’ll take this gamble for myself.

I’m betting you.

Let’s see if you’ll remember me.

How will you know?

By seeking this drop of blood so you can ask me after you die?

You have committed treason by owning private troops

and engaging in nepotism.

Am I supposed to cover for you, Prince Xin?

I conquered the kingdom,

consolidated your power

and protected the nation for you.

In the end,

one word from you nullifies everything I did.

Thy name is unpredictable.

Your Majesty, I hope

you will trust those who can be trusted,

or else it will be miserable for you.

I will give you

everything you want.

Are you really giving me your eyes even when it’s forbidden?

You are born in a family of sorcerers.

If you can’t study spells and become a full-fledged sorceress,

you will be burned.

I don’t want to see you die.

Even if that’s the case,

I won’t remember you.

I just want you to live to your fullest.

Don’t worry.

I will find a far place to die.

We will not meet again in this life.

I see you as my confidant.

Why do you want to kill me?

Someone is paying me for your life.

When you die, I will be free.

Why?

I hope that after I die,

you won’t forget about me.

Dream on.

Why should I remember you?

So that’s what he meant when he said I hurt him for the past nine lives.

To think I even guaranteed I’d treat him differently this life.

Yet I disappointed him again.

No, I can’t continue wallowing in here.

I need to get answers from Si Feng!

You hate the heavens for wrecking your life.

All you have in your mind is revenge, right?

Do you think I’ll forgive the heavens

for doing this to me?

Execute her!

That’s right.

You shouldn’t die here.

I shall bring you to Fenru City so you can enter the mortal world.

Then, the heavens cannot hurt you anymore.

No!

I’ll go with you.

I shall use my life to release you

from your pain and anger

and make up for the wrongs the heavens has done to you.

Si Feng.

Si Feng!

Stinky woman, are you okay?

How are you feeling?

Tell me.

When can I finally retire from war?

So he has always been with me.

He has been with me since I was in the heavens.

Yet he gave everything up

to redeem me through ten lives in the mortal world.

I was the one who dragged him down.

And not only did I forget everything, I hurt him time and again.

What are you thinking about?

I saw everything.

When I was relegated to the mortal world,

it was King Bailing who erased all my memories.

Even the Mirror of Origin couldn’t show me my memories.

Why did he do that?

The heavens has its own way of doing things.

They have their considerations.

Considerations?

I am just a toy for those in the heavens.

Let’s not talk about this now.

Didn’t you see anything else down there?

Si Feng.

Si Feng.

Si Feng.

I saw it.

When I was in the heavens and the mortal world,

even when I was utterly betrayed and abandoned,

only Si Feng gave me his all to help me.

How would a person like him ever betray me?

Flying Snake.

I was wrong.

I have been wrong all along, right?

By the way, when I sent Ling Long back to Shaoyang Sect,

I met Ting Nu.

He said it was Si Feng who told him to come to save Zhong Min Yan.

Then Ting Nu knows where Si Feng is.

Why didn’t you tell me earlier?

Little Six.

Little Six.

Ling Long.

I knew you wouldn’t leave me.

Even if you’re abandoning me, I’ll look for you in heaven and hell.

I haven’t married my wife yet.

I’m not going anywhere.

What happened?

I went to Mount Buzhou to confront Wu Tong.

He’s dead now.

Our nightmare has ended.

I won’t do anything silly again.

Everything is over now.

My wife, I have never felt that you’re silly.

You’re the silly guy here!

Sixth Senior.

Xuan Ji.

Flying Snake said you’re fine,

but I can only be relieved when I see you myself.

I’m fine.

I’m also glad that Sixth Senior is safe now.

All of you keep giving me headaches.

Behave yourselves from now on.

Min Yan, take care.

I owe you yet another favor.

I am truly grateful.

No need to thank me.

I came here on behalf of a friend.

Ting Nu.

Do you mean Si Feng?

Other than saving your Sixth Senior,

he also had two other requests for me.

First, he wants me to inform you

that the Sky Hall demons have disbanded.

He has no control over the demons anymore.

But he can guarantee that the Rose Gold Bird

will never engage in battle with the mortals and cultivation sects.

Mere words do not mean much.

Yes, only time will tell.

Second, he asked me to give this pill to Elder Chu.

This pill is rare indeed.

It can rebuild your health so you can regain your spiritual powers.

Everyone, I shall take my leave.

Auntie Ying Hong.

Don’t be angry.

I just want to ask you

if you have clearly seen the person who injured you.

To be frank, I did not see my attacker clearly.

I only know he must be from Lize Palace.

Back then, only Yu Si Feng was there.

No.

Ruo Yu was also there.

Si Feng said that he was trapped within the barriers

when he was pursuing Ruo Yu.

Back then, we didn’t believe him.

But when Wu Tong attacked our sect, I saw Ruo Yu.

And he admitted to me that he was the one

who injured Auntie Ying Hong and trespassed the secret ground.

Si Feng wasn’t lying.

I misunderstood him.

So, what Wu Tong said before he died was true.

Si Feng never intended to unseal the Jade Cup

to wreak havoc upon the three realms.

Everything he did was to destroy Yuan Lang’s plot.

He...

Si Feng said he’s not the Star of Mosha.

But I never believed him.

He said he’d handle everything and answer me one day.

But I only believed in what I saw.

I didn’t listen to his explanation.

- I was even angry... - Xuan Ji.

I was angry that he deceived me and went against my wishes.

Ting Nu.

Ting Nu!

You knew Xuan Ji’s senior wasn’t killed by Si Feng.

Why didn’t you tell them?

Easy of you to say, but what about me?

My celestial eye saw it.

It was the Asura form of Yuan Lang who killed Xuan Ji’s senior.

Little Phoenix was there to save him.

In the end, he was betrayed instead.

For whom did he did that?

That stupid girl, of course.

He ran all the way there to save her senior,

and now he’s slapped with a baseless accusation.

No one will believe me now.

Chu Xuan Ji’s senior was a scoundrel.

What a weird guy he was.

He knew very well that he was attacked by Yuan Lang.

But he put the blame on Little Phoenix.

I now see that those unreasonable barbarians in Shaoyang Sect

are trying to pin Little Phoenix down!

Brother Liu!

Brother Liu, what did you say?

You heard everything?

Is it important anyway?

Little Phoenix is being maligned now.

- Are you happy? - Yi Huan.

Is it true that Si Feng didn’t kill my senior?

You saw it?

What is this?

Not only did I see it, I saw it as clear as day.

Then why did my senior malign Si Feng?

How would I know?

Don’t you know how prejudiced your senior is towards demons?

He probably just wanted to harm as many demons as he could.

Let’s go, Ting Nu.

What a lousy place this is.

If it weren’t for Si Feng’s request,

I wouldn’t have come here for the rest of my life.

- Brother Liu. - Yi Huan.

Tell me where Si Feng is.

You care about him?

Lize Palace is empty now.

The Rose Gold Bird have decided to disappear from the mortal world.

I don’t know where they are either.

It’s good anyway. At least you people won’t pester them anymore.

They left? Why?

Did Si Feng leave too?

Doesn’t he care about me anymore?

Isn’t that good?

I was blind enough to unite you two.

Yu Si Feng’s Loveless Curse has activated twice.

The third time will mean death.

Ending this relationship will keep his life.

Loveless Curse? What is that?

Why is it that I don’t know anything about it?

You don’t know anything.

And you’re still asking why.

Let’s go, Ting Nu.

Yi Huan.

Just tell Xuan Ji everything you know.

Even if they have to part, let’s make this a clean cut.

Fine, I’ll tell you.

I’ll tell you what Yu Si Feng has done for you.

The Loveless Mask is the most brutal torture in Lize Palace.

When people meet the love of their lives,

they would rather kill themselves than wear the Loveless Mask.

That’s because any feelings of love

will cause an irremovable mask to form.

Three letdowns in love will end the wearer’s life.

Little Phoenix couldn’t bear to leave you alone.

He was locked up and tortured in Lianyu Pagoda for an entire year.

In the end, your indifference towards him

made him wear the Loveless Mask so he can be free.

After he was released, he was supposed to stay away from you.

But you kept clinging onto him.

Si Feng.

Si Feng, it really is you.

You have another new mask.

I almost couldn’t recognize you.

Little Phoenix was unlucky enough to believe that

you would be different.

He thought you would treat him sincerely.

He thought you would remove that mask for him.

He thought you could lift his Loveless Curse.

But fate was cruel, and you just had to be the God of War.

The Loveless Mask is made from wood from Kunlun Tree.

It cannot resist your celestial powers.

You removed his mask easily,

but you couldn’t lift his curse.

Si Feng.

Si Feng.

- At first... - Si Feng!

He didn’t expect anything from you or feel anything for you.

That’s how the curse can be suppressed.

But he still dedicated himself to you.

That punk must have been so determined to give his life to you.

Didn’t you say that the mask will smile when it’s removed?

Why is it crying?

Xuan Ji.

Were you really the one who removed this mask?

Yes.

Si Feng!

I was wrong, Si Feng.

Yu Si Feng’s Loveless Curse has activated twice.

The third time will mean death.

Ending this relationship will keep his life.

Stinky woman!

Stinky woman, what are you doing?

Lize Palace is here!

You almost dived straight into the sea!

That’s right.

What...

What have I been doing?

He tried to explain to me about what he had done,

but I never listened a single word.

I even said all those hurtful remarks.

He didn’t tell you, so you didn’t know.

It’s not your fault.

No.

No matter what happens to me,

he would know even when I don’t tell him.

But what about me?

I...

I never cared about what he wanted.

I never knew if he was happy or sad.

He said I’m heartless.

I am truly heartless.

Now...

He’s gone.

Lize Palace is abandoned now.

He has moved on indeed.
