LOVE AND REDEMPTION

EPISODE 34

North Superintendent,

that person released Zhong Min Yan and Ruo Yu.

What happened to you?

Who asked you to change your appearance?

Brother Tong,

you said you’ll like me no matter what I look like.

This is my original look.

Brother Tong, I look good, don’t I?

What I want is Ling Long!

Where is my Ling Long?

I...

I just didn’t want to live with another person’s appearance.

I’ve returned her primordial spirit to them.

How dare you steal my Soul Bell!

I just wanted to become myself.

I just wanted you to like the original me.

Brother Tong,

you should stop thinking about her.

Although my look had changed, I’m still me!

How dare you touch Ling Long’s primordial spirit!

And you even released those two fellows!

You’re digging your own grave!

How dare you hit me!

So what if I did?

Kill me if you dare!

You...

Why are you still upset?

You weren’t like this in the past.

You told me to get angry at you if you’re upset.

You’ll be happy after I scold you.

I did say that before.

But that is only applicable to Ling Long!

Since you’re not Ling Long anymore,

there’s no point in keeping you here.

Brother Tong!

Chu Ling Long,

you’re mine.

I will bring you back no matter what!

Report!

My lord, the Flying Dragon Seal and the spirit keys are missing!

The Flying Dragon Seal?

Shaoyang Sect doesn’t know that I have that seal with me.

I’m sure Zhong Min Yan isn’t the culprit.

Who’s the culprit then?

This is bad!

North Superintendent,

where are you going in such a hurry?

Didn’t you ask me to come and take the Flying Dragon Seal?

Here I am.

Hao Chen, you just came out of your retreat.

You should rest more.

You don’t need to rush here.

Dianjinggu Sect will hold the next Flower Session soon.

I don’t dare to delay this.

Sect Leader, did you find any clues around Mount Buzhou?

My spirit beast, Hong Luan, searched the area.

And it finally found this.

Indeed.

This piece from my Demon Whip,

it fell off when I fought with that demon back then.

What do you mean?

No other disciples were around when my Demon Whip broke.

Only the elders and sect leaders of the four sects were around.

So, one of them must be the culprit.

So, the demon who had fought with me

was one of the elders or sect leaders.

That means there’s a spy from Sky Hall among us.

How should we identify who’s the spy then?

Sect Leader, don’t worry.

I will surely think of a way.

Sect Leader, Xuan Ji has returned.

She even brought Sixth... She brought Zhong Min Yan as well.

Sixth Senior, don’t worry.

I’ve sent Flying Snake to find out where Ruo Yu is.

As for Father, just try to explain everything to him.

Si Feng and I will help you.

Xuan Ji!

Why did you bring him back?

Father.

Master.

I don’t have a traitorous disciple like you!

Today, I’ll get rid of the evildoers in Shaoyang Sect!

Father, Sixth Senior has bitter reasons for that.

We only brought back half of Ling Long’s primordial spirit.

Sixth Senior joined Sky Hall

because he wanted to retrieve the other half of her primordial spirit.

Father, he didn’t betray us.

What did you say?

Master.

I know I’ve committed a grave mistake.

I will never be forgiven.

You can punish me

however you want.

But Master,

please save Ling Long for now.

Sect Leader Chu,

Xuan Ji isn’t saying that because she wants to defend him.

She’s telling the truth.

Ling Long’s primordial spirit has left her body for too long.

If we don’t return it to her now, her life will be in danger.

Sect Leader Chu, please save Ling Long.

Sect Leader!

- No! I’m Ling Long! - Ling Long!

Ling Long, you’re awake!

It’s fine now.

Look at me.

Father.

Aunt Ying Hong.

Am I really home now?

I’m Xuan Ji. We’re in Shaoyang Sect.

You’re home.

In the future,

I won’t let anyone bully you again.

- Xuan Ji. - In the future, I’ll take care of you.

You’ll be my little sister. I’ll protect you.

Okay?

I’m home!

You’re home.

My child.

Father!

- Father! - It’s fine now.

Good to see you back.

My precious child.

Xuan Ji, where’s Little Six?

Why isn’t he around?

Sixth Senior went to make some food for you.

- He’ll return soon. - Yes.

Ling Long, your primordial spirit had just returned to you.

I’m sure you’re exhausted.

You should rest.

Yes. Rest now.

Raise your head.

I was incapable.

I couldn’t accomplish the task you gave me.

I couldn’t retrieve the spirit keys and I’ve harmed Second Senior.

- I’m ashamed to see you. - What did you say?

When did I give you such tasks?

Master,

didn’t you tell me to become a spy in Sky Hall

and try to retrieve her primordial spirit and the spirit keys?

What a load of nonsense!

Even until now, you’re trying to find excuses

for the crimes that you had committed?

Impossible.

Impossible!

Master, you assigned the tasks to me in person!

Min Yan.

Tell us everything that had happened. Do not leave out anything.

Yes.

That day, I left Fuyu Island.

I was going to Mount Buzhou.

During my night in Qingmu Town,

Master, you suddenly appeared.

You asked me to become a spy in Sky Hall.

And try to retrieve Ling Long’s primordial spirit and the spirit keys.

Are you willing to

do anything it takes to save Ling Long?

Good.

I wasn’t wrong about you.

But not only do you need to save Ling Long,

you need to complete an important task as well.

I want you to become a spy in Sky Hall.

Try to retrieve the spirit keys while you’re there.

Master, please tell me how to retrieve them.

Pretend to surrender to them while you’re there.

And prove that you’re loyal to them.

Only by doing so, you’ll be able to stay there and retrieve the spirit keys.

Hereby, I grant you special permission.

You may sacrifice righteousness

during crucial moments.

You may even sacrifice your fellow disciples.

Master.

Please tell me that you were the person I saw that night.

No.

I wasn’t even there.

And I had never assigned such tasks to you.

During your night in Qingmu Town,

Sect Leader and the rest were trying to find out where you were.

How could he approach you personally?

Min Yan, you’re so gullible.

This can’t be.

This can’t be!

Why is this happening?

Why is this happening to me?

Master.

Master, are you trying to test me?

Are you angry because I didn’t retrieve the spirit keys?

Or...

Or is it because you still have some special tasks for me?

Master, please tell me.

Please tell me that you’re lying.

- Master. - On Fuyu Island,

Wolf from Sky Hall disguised himself as Sect Leader Zhu Shi.

Even Xuan Ji, who’s so sensitive to demons, couldn’t detect him.

Min Yan, maybe the sect leader you met that night

was Wolf in disguise.

What have I done?

What have I done?

I actually believed in a demon!

I fell for his trick!

I’m stupid!

I’m so stupid!

That’s why I fell for his trick!

It’s all because I’m stupid!

- It’s my fault! - Min Yan, calm down.

Min Yan,

you said that demon wanted you to retrieve the spirit keys.

Where are the spirit keys?

Spirit keys? I was in possession of them for a moment.

But the demons had cornered us.

- To protect me, Ruo Yu... - Ruo Yu?

Ruo Yu from Lize Palace?

Ruo Yu fell off a cliff.

I’m afraid the spirit keys

are in the hands of the demons now.

First, you said you possessed them. Now, you say Ruo Yu fell off a cliff.

It’s all your claim! How do you prove them?

Senior,

Min Yan has been with us since he was a child.

I believed that he wouldn’t betray Shaoyang Sect.

I’m afraid that he fell for the demon’s trick.

Even if you’re saying the truth, even if you were

deceived by the demon,

how do you explain Min Jue then?

You grew up with him together!

How dare you murder him!

- Second Senior. - Don’t look at me with those eyes.

My beloved Ling Long was the one behind your Second Senior’s death.

Master, I can never be forgiven.

Please kill me!

Do you think death can clear your name?

Senior, Min Yan did commit a grave mistake.

But he had saved Ling Long as well.

- This... - The Shaoyang Sect will never

forgive disciples who kill their seniors!

We’ll lock him up for now.

After this, I’ll hold the general meeting of Shaoyang.

We’ll put him through an open trial!

LIZE PALACE

You did excellent in your last mission.

Armies are to be maintained for years but used on a single day.

I’ve raised you for so long.

I’ve covered the fact that you lost your mask as well.

Now, this is the time for you to repay me.

Vice Palace Lord, I’ll risk my life for you.

You don’t need to risk your life.

You’re friends with Chu Xuan Ji and the rest, right?

Continue to be friends with them.

I don’t really understand.

Just stay beside them and observe their movement.

Report their every move

to me.

Yes.

This is an order from our leader.

You and Zhong Min Yan are to stay beside Wu Tong.

Besides acquiring the Flying Dragon Seal and the spirit keys,

you need to kill Yu Si Feng as well.

What? Kill Si Feng?

But why?

Only a huge shock will stimulate Chu Xuan Ji

and to awaken the powers within her.

But Yu Si Feng belongs to Lize Palace.

- To kill him... - Shut up!

What’s wrong?

Are you trying to disobey

the orders of the Vice Palace Lord?

Don’t forget.

He wanted you to mix with them for them to let down their guard.

Don’t tell me

you treat them as your true friends?

I did so much in order to send you and Zhong Min Yan into Mount Buzhou.

You didn’t disappoint me indeed.

Vice Palace Lord, I’ve accomplished the task you gave me.

It’s been some time since the last time I met my sister.

Can I...

What are you saying?

You did such a good job.

Of course I’ll let you reunite with your sister.

Thank you, Vice Palace Lord.

You have 15 minutes.

Xue Er!

Brother.

Why did you injure your face?

- Does it hurt? - I’m fine.

Xue Er,

- I bought you a gift. - It’s nice.

This bracelet, it’s...

A good friend of mine chose it for me.

But I wish he will

never meet a friend like me again.

You’ll be free as long as

I accomplish Vice Palace Lord’s tasks.

It’s worth sacrificing everything.

I’ll bring you home soon.

I’ll bring you home.

Senior Hao Chen.

I haven’t got the chance to say this.

But thank you for saving me in Qingmu Town.

You don’t need to thank me.

I wouldn’t have saved you if Xuan Ji didn’t

risk her life for you.

I wonder how Min Yan is doing?

Senior, please plead with your sect leader on behalf of Min Yan.

Hero Yu, you don’t need to worry about our internal affairs.

I know.

I shouldn’t interrupt.

But Min Yan is my brother.

Senior, please plead with Sect Leader Chu.

Please beg him to forgive Min Yan since he had saved Ling Long.

It’s all because

he cares too much about Ling Long.

That’s why he was deceived by the demons.

Zhong Min Yan was deceived because of his love for her.

But this isn’t an excuse for his crimes.

It was precisely because of love that he was deceived.

That’s why he couldn’t comprehend the situation clearly.

So,

if someone tries to use love as an excuse to deceive Xuan Ji,

I will make sure he pays.

Senior,

why do you always treat me like your enemy?

Even until now, you still think that

I have ulterior motives for loving Xuan Ji?

Shouldn’t I think so?

After Xuan Ji left Xuanyang Peak,

you instigated her to find her six senses. She almost fell for Sky Hall’s ploy.

You persuaded her to leave Fuyu Island without permission.

You brought her to Mount Buzhou.

And she almost lost her life because of that!

I really don’t know what’s your motive for approaching my junior.

Senior Hao Chen, I heard that

you changed from the Heartless Tactics to the Sentimental Tactics.

But now, you look like

you don’t believe in love at all.

Isn’t this ironic?

Don’t try to be a smart aleck.

I can’t stop you from meeting my junior.

But

if I find out that you have ulterior motives for loving her,

I won’t let you off.

Senior Hao Chen, something happened in the secret ground!

- What’s wrong? - The barrier is getting weaker.

And now, there’s a huge gap in the barrier.

Master has issued an order. He wants every elder to be there.

I told you already.

I’m the friend of Chu Xuan Ji.

Let me in.

This is the rule of Shaoyang Sect!

What rule? My patience is running thin!

Get out of the way!

Hey, where’s the kitchen?

Who are you? Why are you intruding?

Why did you pull out your sword when I asked you about the kitchen?

- You must be crazy. - Sound the alarm!

Stinky woman!

How did such a big hole appear?

Much of our powers have been absorbed by it,

yet it has no effect at all.

Don’t tell me the Heartless Tactics doesn’t work anymore?

Senior Heng Yang, what should we do?

I’ll set up the Secret Formation.

Maybe it can hold on for a short while.

But it can’t last for long.

If we want a long-term solution,

we can only depend on Xuan Ji and Hao Chen.

You and Hao Chen need to get married.

And the two of you need to practice the Sentimental Tactics together.

Only then, the barrier will be stabilized and we can protect the secret ground.

Senior Hao Chen and I? No way!

You and Hao Chen are destined to be together.

And you two have been together all your lives.

Why can’t you practice the Sentimental Tactics

with him?

I’ve explained this to my father already.

Father, I...

What? You’re marrying your senior?

Who are you?

This is my friend, Flying Snake.

What’s wrong with you?

It’s fine that you forgot about King Bailing.

But why are you abandoning that great chef?

Is your senior a great chef as well?

I feel like I’ve seen him before.

Outsider, how dare you invade our secret ground?

Leave now!

Mortal! How dare you shout at me! Do you want to die?

Why should I enter your secret ground? There’s nothing good in there!

I won’t enter unless there’s some delicious food in there.

But there’s nothing inside!

There’s only a short-tempered one-eyed dragon!

I’m sure it’s not delicious. There’s no reason for me to enter!

How did you know that the Candle Dragon is our guardian?

Don’t tell me you’re a spy from Sky Hall?

Father, he’s not from Sky Hall.

- He’s my spirit beast. - Spirit beast?

I’m your friend!

He’s my friend as well.

When did you tame a spirit beast like him?

Is he just like Lu Yan Ran?

A spirit beast who acquired a human form?

Father of stinky woman,

can you not compare me with that low-class creature?

I’m a divine snake who has trained for 1,000 years!

I would never become her spirit beast

if it weren’t for my careless mistake.

So, according to what you’ve said, you’re a heavenly officer?

Yes.

I’m the one and only Lord Flying Snake.

You’re 25 years old at most. You don’t look like a heavenly officer.

Xuan Ji, you mustn’t let him deceive you.

I... I’m a heavenly officer!

You mortals have no common sense at all!

Do you know that King Bailing begs me to do his tasks for him?

He sent me and the Four Sacred Beasts here to construct your secret ground!

Heartless Tactics and Sentimental Tactics?

You even want stinky woman to marry another guy?

Listen up. Do you believe it or not?

I can fix your stupid barrier by using a tiny bit of my power.

This barrier is constructed by beings of the heavenly realm.

It’s fine for you to crack inappropriate jokes,

but how could you disrespect them?

Father, Flying Snake is a heavenly officer indeed.

Just let him try and fix the barrier.

Nonsense!

This concerns the three realms! How could you joke around?

Xuan Ji,

you better leave with your spirit beast.

Fine. You mortals are looking down on me, huh?

I’ll show you my power.

He did fix the barrier.

Stinky woman, I’ve solved your trouble.

You better ask Yu Si Feng to cook something delicious for me.

Sure. Thank you, Flying Snake.

He’ll cook everything you want.

Sect Leader, please look.

He does look like the painting.

Stop it already. Let me have a look.

What an ugly painting. I’m much more handsome.

- Greetings, Heavenly Officer. - Greetings, Heavenly Officer.

Father, what are you doing?

Heavenly Officer, the entire Shaoyang Sect

needs your help.

Uncle, can you stop scaring me? Speak in a normal tone.

Heavenly Officer, you may not know this.

The Flower Session will be held once every four years.

Now, Dianjinggu Sect is the one holding it.

And every sect leaders are fretting over this.

If Sky Hall steals the spirit keys during the event,

the secret ground will be in danger.

Heavenly Officer, you came just in time.

My lord, I hope you can help us out.

Now that Xuan Ji has immense powers,

my lord, if you accompany her to the Dianjinggu Sect,

you two will surely be able to defeat all the demons.

What is she saying?

- You can fight. - I can fight?

Sure.

No!

As a heavenly officer, you mustn’t interfere with mortal affairs.

If not, the heavens will punish you.

That is the heavenly law.

Am I right, my lord?

How did you know all that?

Wait, you look familiar.

Have I seen you before?

Fine. Let me test you.

Flying Snake!

- You mustn’t bully him! - Your senior is weak!

You trained with him? It’s no wonder you’re weak too.

Senior, I have an idea.

Heavenly officers can’t interfere with mortal affairs indeed.

But now, he’s my spirit beast.

If the Sky Hall comes for me and puts me in a dangerous situation,

I don’t think he’s breaking the law if he assists me by then.

Xuan Ji!

Stinky woman, you’re smart! That’s decided then.

Come, let’s slay some demons and enjoy some good food.

Sect Leader.

Heavenly Officer, if that’s the case,

please travel with us to Dianjinggu Sect then.

I...

Listen, I’ve searched around Mount Buzhou.

I didn’t discover Ruo Yu’s body.

There’s only a bloody shirt.

It was too dirty. I didn’t bring it back.

Only a bloody shirt was left?

Don’t tell me Sky Hall has captured Ruo Yu?

My king.

What’s with that Flying Snake?

Well...

I’ve ordered guards to keep watch over him.

I don’t know when Lord Flying Snake descended to the mortal realm.

But it’s fine.

He’s someone’s pet now.

He deserved that.

He didn’t create trouble in the heavens.

But he came and create trouble for me!

Can you remove that annoying snake somehow?

About that...

Flying Snake is Xuan Ji’s spirit beast now.

This is a mortal affair now.

I can’t do anything.

If I do anything, the Jade Emperor will be able to sense it.

When he senses this, he’ll be able to detect your presence too.

I really can’t do anything.

What’s the use of keeping you?

My king, there’s another thing.

You asked me to seal God of War’s life pillar, right?

But I can’t suppress it anymore.

I’m afraid the God of War will awaken sooner or later.

What?

My king, please forgive me.

The Mirror of Origin is a heavenly item.

Since it has triggered her to recover some of her memories,

it’s hard to reverse it.

I can’t do anything about it.

But in my opinion,

it isn’t necessarily a bad thing for Flying Snake to be here.

That demon who used its malignant aura to trap Xuan Ji,

I’m sure he’s trying to go after the God of War.

So, Flying Snake can serve as an aid instead.

Am I right?

Now, the demons are getting stronger.

Some of them are even elders of the Five Great Sects.

It’s hard to guard against them indeed.

Fine.

I’ll leave that annoying snake around Xuan Ji for now.

At least he can protect her.

The most important thing now is to

find the demon with the malignant aura.

Only then, I can rest at ease.

Ling Long.

- You’re awake? - Xuan Ji.

I brought you your favorite osmanthus cake.

Xuan Ji, where’s Little Six?

Why isn’t he here to see me?

The Flower Session will be held soon.

Father wants Sixth Senior to lead our juniors for the training.

Xuan Ji, stop lying to me.

I vaguely recall that he went to Sky Hall to save me.

But I don’t remember anything else.

Did something happen to him?

- I... - Tell me!

I...

Sixth Senior committed some mistakes.

And he broke our rules. Now, he’s locked up in the cell.

What did he do to break our rules?

- Did Father make things difficult for him? - No.

Don’t worry.

Although Father was angry, he still cares for him.

He let us visit him often.

No! I need to find him!

Your favorite food isn’t glutinous rice cake.

It’s osmanthus cake.

Send Min Yan some of your favorite glutinous rice cake.

Ling Long, what’s wrong?

Ling Long, what’s wrong?

Don’t touch me!

Xuan Ji.

I... I want to be alone for now.

Please leave.

- Ling Long. - Listen to me.

Please. Leave me alone.

Just go.

I...

Ling Long!

Ling Long, Sixth Senior misses you as well.

He wants to see you too.

Ling Long, please don’t be like this.

I beg you! Leave me alone!

I knew it. That Yu Si Feng

must be hiding the food he had made somewhere.

So, it’s here.

Who’s there?

I’m a heavenly officer! Everyone here bows to me, you know?

- Be quiet! - You’re stealing my food.

Someone! There’s a thief!

Stop shouting!

You’ll call stinky woman here, you know?

It’s lucky that she didn’t come. I’ll be in trouble if she does.

She’ll nag at me all day!

You’re stinky woman’s sister, right?

My goodness. I retrieved your primordial spirit, you know?

What’s wrong with eating your osmanthus cake?

You’re so petty.

I’m sorry! I won’t eat them!

I’ll return them to you, okay?

Please don’t cry. I won’t eat them.

Sister, why are you so useless?

You’re crying over such trivial matters?

Do you know someone risked his life

and suffered tremendously

in order to retrieve your primordial spirit?

If he sees you crying,

I’m sure his tears will flood the room.

Stop crying.

I need to go now. Promise me this.

Promise me that you’ll not shout after I undo the spell.

Blink twice if you agree.

Okay.

If you shout after I undo the spell,

I’ll burn your hair and make you go bald.

Okay. I’ll go now.

Wait!

You’re going back on your words?

You said someone risked his life for me. That person is Min Yan, right?

Xuan Ji and the rest wouldn’t tell me anything.

Do you know something? Tell me about it!

I only know a little bit.

That Zhong Min Yan, he became a spy in Sky Hall

in order to retrieve your primordial spirit.

A spy?

I think he became a spy because he was deceived.

He killed someone in order to acquire the villain’s trust.

He killed someone? Who did he kill?

It’s the stinky woman’s Second Senior.

He suffered a terrible fate. He was chopped into pieces.

Second Senior?

Brother Wu Tong asked me to bring you some food.

Have some food.

Here.

Are they nice?

What’s wrong with you?

Sixth Senior.

Xuan Ji?

Si Feng?

Sixth Senior, I’ve brought you some food.

Where’s Ling Long? How is she?

Is she awake?

She’s awake now. She’s doing well.

Sixth Senior, don’t worry.

This is great.

So, where is she?

Didn’t she follow you here?

Sixth Senior, the food is hot.

You should eat them now.

If not, they’ll get cold.

Ling Long...

Is she not willing to see me?

- It’s not like that! She... - You don’t need to lie.

If she wants to see me,

she would’ve been here right away.

She’s right.

I was a fool. I was deceived by Sky Hall.

It’s normal if she doesn’t want to see me.

If I were her,

I would’ve ignored a person like me.

Min Yan, don’t think too much.

Ling Long...

She’s very worried about you.

Yes, Sixth Senior.

She’s really worried about you.

She...

- She’s busy with something. - I understand.

That’s why she...

Ling Long...

She always hates evildoers.

I’ve committed a grave mistake.

I have no right to beg for her forgiveness.

But I don’t regret my decision.

If I could turn back time,

I would’ve made the same decision.

I’m willing to do anything

as long as I can save Ling Long.

The only thing I’m sorry about

is Second Senior.

Second...

Regarding Second Senior,

did you really kill him?

Yes.

I’m ashamed to face him.

My beloved Ling Long

was the one behind your Second Senior’s death.

Me?

Si Feng, Xuan Ji,

I need you two

to pass a message to Ling Long, okay?

Tell her that

I was lying.

I didn’t love her at all.

My promises don’t count now.

I’ve committed a grave mistake.

I have no right to like her anymore.

Tell her that

she doesn’t need to be awkward.

It’s just that

I can’t accompany her for the rest of her life.

Ask her to take good care of herself.

If she meets someone she likes in the future,

you must persuade her.

Tell her not to throw her tantrums that often.

If not, people who don’t understand her

may think she’s not good enough.

It’ll be painful for me.

I just hope that

Ling Long can stay happy

in the future.

That’s enough for me.

Why are you crying here?

You should go in since you’re here.

You’re too embarrassed?

- I’ll call them out then. - Don’t!

I was the one who let down Little Six.

I’ve committed so many atrocious acts in Sky Hall, yet he...

It’s all because of me.

He wouldn’t been deceived if it weren’t for me.

He wouldn’t have been misunderstood as well.

I’ve let him down.

I don’t understand you mortals.

Sect Leader has issued an order. Zhong Min Yan is to be summoned.

Where are you bringing Sixth Senior?

Senior Xuan Ji, Master said he’ll holding an open trial for him.
