"Ashes of Love"

"Episode 41"

Yan You is gone now.

Have I really changed that much?

In my whole life,

I've never done anything immoral.

How could the Heavenly Empress and Xu Feng...

act so recklessly?

As for me, even taking revenge causes me to be castigated...

and cast aside by my family.

A few dark spots on a white cloth...

will make it look dirtier than a black cloth.

People can say all they want.

Your Highness, you don't have to pay attention to them.

You are right.

A strong man can break easily,

a righteous man can be influenced easily.

Since I have taken on this path,

no matter what other people think,

there's no turning back for me.

We've calmed the Bird Tribe and assigned foods for the victims.

Night Immortal, your achievements were among the greatest.

It is indeed surprising.

Run Yu, you are always quiet and withdrawn.

However, when you handle the administrative matters,

you are independent and no less inferior than the Fire Immortal.

In comparison, you are even more meticulous and comprehensive.

I am really pleased.

Father, you have flattered me.

The Supreme Lord Lao possesses 3 virtues,

to be kind every day,

to be diligent every day,

to put the people before oneself every day.

I have always set them as my own standards.

Previously I was not in the position to handle such matters.

And now I am given this position,

hence these matters are part of my responsibilities.

I will surely do my best...

and live up to your expectation.

Your Majesty,

Lord Yin Que from the Bird Tribe wishes to pledge that,

all 800 miles of Tai Lake shall be given to the Heaven Realm...

as a sign of their loyalty.

The Tai Lake is the origin of the dragonfish tribe.

I wish to assign the Tai Lake to the Night Immortal...

as part of your land to recognise your achievement,

what do you think, Night Immortal?

Father, thank you so much for your generous gift.

The dragonfish tribe has been eliminated for thousands of years,

the past is past.

However, as the eldest son of the Heavenly Emperor,

it is my obligation to guard our land.

I am just glad that I could lessen your burden, father.

The Tai Lake is a sacred place.

It should not be owned only by any single man or family.

And it must not be treated as anyone's personal property.

Not long ago, the banished Empress has started a war at the Dong Ting Lake...

and has killed too many.

Thereafter, the Water Immortal was met with misfortune.

Jin Mi Immortal is now mourning in the Flora Realm.

The Dong Ting Lake is still recovering from what happened.

Father, you've been kind and generous.

I suggest that we can allow...

water tribe of Dong Ting Lake who has lost their homes...

to be relocated in Tai Lake.

Your proposal is approved.

Such were the words of a wise man.

We should all work towards it.

The Night Immortal, the takeover of Tai Lake, rebuilding of Dong Ting...

and helping the Water Tribe to settle down...

will now be handled by you at your sole discretion.

I accept the duty.

The devilish fire of hell has just toppled,

there comes another sea monster.

The second prince has always been strict.

However, as for the eldest prince,

he seems to be approachable on normal days.

But when he is handling affairs, he becomes very serious and focused,

he is never careless.

He is also a meticulous person as well.

Tell me, why I am always so unlucky...

that I always have some powerful enemies.

However, the eldest prince is really generous this time round.

Just now, at the Highest Palace,

he didn't even count how much he has gained or lost.

Now it seems that,

he is a far-sighted person.

You do have great taste, my daughter.

You burn the cold stove well.

My daughter,

can you stop looking at it, just stop it, will you?

Look at your father, look at your father, okay?

Ever since you came back from the birthday banquet of Moon Immortal,

you have never spared a look at me!

Are you still angry at me?

Father,

if you still say things about my engagement in public...

I won't bother about you anymore!

What is "burning the cold stove"?

Why does it sound so disgusting...

- when it comes out from your mouth? - Fine, fine, fine.

I won't say it anymore, I won't talk so much anymore, okay?

And that brothers too.

They don't govern without intervention like their father, Heavenly Emperor.

Just like finding a wife,

it doesn't matter whether it is a wildflower or a garden flower,

after the marriage, they are all the same.

Doesn't matter whether it is within the court or without,

as long as one is given the position, it makes no difference at all.

Father, you have not stopped either.

You marry one after another too.

This... This girl.

It's just like a mortal man.

Even a newly-built toilet by the mortal man can smell nice for 3 days.

I don't know what they're thinking.

The eldest prince always does the unexpected.

As for the second prince,

he has no plans at all in his mind.

You are all immortals.

But why are you so different from the Water Immortal?

The Water Immortal?

Why should I learn from him?

To learn how he gets killed?

I should really let Immortal Yuanji throw you into the mortal world.

Their ministerial and banking positions will suit you best.

Li Er, 800 miles of Tai Lake is mother's homeland.

Please protect it on behalf of me, can you?

But what if my power is too low and I could not protect it well?

Beneath the Lake,

there is a really large piece of marshland.

Don't worry, brother.

I will make sure to protect it well.

Find me if you need anything.

Your brother, Yan You, will also help you.

Then I will go now, brothers.

Are you happy now?

The time will tell a person's true nature.

You don't have to act in front of me.

No matter what, Li Er is your own brother.

Therefore I think you have the right to know about...

his choices and his decisions.

Every day, you live as a perfect person,

and you show no weakness. Are you tired?

It is better than dying.

Your Highness, the power you wield has no match.

Now, you lead Divine Army of 8 Directions,

reign over the Heaven Realm.

You have also just gotten hold of 800 miles of Tai Lake.

I offer you my congratulations.

My godmother can rest in peace now.

Are you leaving already?

I think I still like to be alone and live as a free man.

Alright then.

Since our paths do not cross each other,

then we will only meet each other at some other time.

See you again.

The reason I come today...

is because I have brought some playthings for you.

No need, no need.

I am already so old, I don't need anything else.

This...

Since the Night Immortal is so generous,

then I shall accept your gifts.

I found out that when Lao Hu goes to the Heaven Realm,

he will be fearful of the jade rabbit in the Guang Han Palace every time.

Since you don't like it...

No, no, no, I like it. I like it very much.

Do you know what is this?

This is the Drum of Thunder, its sound resembles that of thunder.

It could chase all fierce beasts away, not to mention a rabbit.

This is a good thing, this is a good thing.

Finally a rotten tree like Heavenly Family produces a good fruit.

Lian Qiao, Jin Mi told me that,

you like all extraordinary scenes in the world.

If you stay within this Water Mirror for a whole day,

I am afraid that you will be very bored.

You can try this kaleidoscope if you are bored.

Thank you, Your Highness.

My mother will not need to worry that I will run away again.

Your Highness, do you plan to have a mistress next time?

Can I recommend myself?

Lian Qiao, you are young and you still haven’t practiced your power,

what are you thinking?

I have no plans for it.

However, I do have a godbrother.

Although he is playful,

if you don't mind, I will introduce him to you.

I don't mind, I don't mind.

It's great if he can live up to one half of you.

Then I will see Jin Mi now.

The Xuan Ling Lord Doumu had written Flora Classics millennia ago.

Unfortunately it is lost in the world.

Sister Zhang is pained by our loss.

We've never guessed that The Night Immortal have such great powers...

that he could locate this classic and give it back to us.

For thousands of years,

I have never seen Chief Zhang has complimented anyone this much.

The Night Immortal always handle the matters in a casual way.

However, he could always solve everything perfectly...

when everyone doesn't notice.

For him, even the hardest things are only a piece of cake.

For those who accept his help,

he never makes them feel that they are indebted towards him.

Just like how water nourishes us quietly.

Being natural is the hardest thing in the world.

Mi Er.

Fish Fairy.

Don't worry.

I'm taking care of all the affairs of the Water Immortal every day.

You can rest easy and mourn.

Once the mourning period ends, I will teach you slowly.

Thank you, Fish Fairy.

I really don't know,

what should I do,

if you are not here with me.

You need not feel thankful towards me.

I will always accompany you on the paths before us.

I wonder if there is any progress in my father's case.

I want to ask...

if, I mean if,

if this murderer is also an immortal in the Heaven Realm,

will the Heavenly Emperor still decide fairly?

Mi Er, why do you have such a question?

A long time has passed.

Until now, there is not even a single clue for it.

If not for the reason that the murderer has a strong background,

why would the Heavenly Emperor stop investigating?

I think this man must be...

someone whom the Emperor doesn't wish to offend.

The Investigation Palace has reported some clues to him,

but merely because of the lack in evidence,

my father keeps quiet on this matter.

He even classifies and seals off all the information.

Since I have no evidence myself, I am in no position to guess.

Do you suspect anyone?

I just don’t understand that...

when my father was still alive...

he lived leisurely and did not wish to fight with anyone.

Why would anyone kill him?

Why?

Maybe it is because of me.

I wish to marry you...

was merely because of our mutual affection for each other.

We were tangled in love.

But, to the others,

I am only a weak and powerless immortal in the Heaven Realm.

However, suddenly,

I receive the support of the Water Immortal, the Wind Immortal...

and the whole Flora Realm.

They would suspect that I wish to betray my father and take the throne.

Father.

Mi Er, don't worry.

I will not let the Water Immortal die with the truth unknown.

Mu Ci, your life is mine now.

Go back and recover properly.

I won't allow you to sneak away again.

- Okay. - Don't lie to me.

- When did I lie to you? - You always lie to me.

Let's spend our night here for today.

Okay.

Excuse me, go away.

Get up and go away.

Go away, go away.

There is nothing to see here, go away.

Why are you still looking? Go away and get lost.

Go away, stop looking here.

Xiao Hu.

Coming!

Bring them to their room.

Go up first, I'll take a look around.

Come and follow me please.

This way.

Get lost, get lost!

The Demon Lord is here, get lost!

Get out of here!

I'm talking about you!

Are you blind? You even dare to block the way of the almighty King Yancheng?

Princess.

I was wondering who will show off their power here.

So it was you.

When did King of Biancheng's army...

become the servant of Demon Lord?

I, I was under the order of the king to go to the city gate...

to escort the King of Gucheng as well as Demon Lord.

Tonight the king has prepared a feast.

He wishes to solve grudge with King of Gucheng while Demon Lord testifies it.

If I see you bully others again,

I will not let you go easily.

Please spare me life, princess. I will not dare to do so anymore.

By the way, will you go back to the palace with me?

If the king sees you, he will definitely be pleased.

No need for that. I have my own plans.

Princess.

Has everything in the palace been prepared accordingly?

Yes, everything is in order.

Then why didn't you bring Princess Liu Ying back to the palace?

It's gonna be a great merit.

As for now, the most important matter will be the feast.

If we force Liu Ying too much,

it might arouse her suspicion.

If we succeed today, then I'll be afraid of her no more.

- Keep a watch on her. - Yes.

Tonight, father has prepared a feast for Demon Lord and King of Gucheng.

We will stay here for tonight...

to avoid drawing attention to ourselves.

If that's the case, then you should have gone back first...

and give them some help.

No way, what if you run away again?

Moreover, Demon Lord and King of Gucheng show no liking towards me.

Why should I disturb them with my presence?

Here, I feel at ease. It's also easier for me to know what's happening.

After so many years,

I know very well that I have committed many wrongs.

But now, when I think of you...

What do you think of me?

When I think of you, I will tell myself that...

I must not disappoint you anymore.

To learn from your own mistakes is a great achievement in itself.

Let's not talk about the past.

When the feast is over,

we shall go and meet my father...

and let him marry us.

Alright.

"Mansion of Biancheng"

Cheers, cheers.

Please, please, please.

Why didn't I see Princess Liu Ying today?

This girl is always wild.

She has not come back for some time.

Is she enjoying her time in the Heaven Realm?

King of Gucheng, you do have a sense of humour.

Although Liu Ying is unruly,

she is however mature and mindful of the situation.

She'll definitely be careful in formal situations.

From what I heard, Princess Liu Ying is quite close to the Fire Immortal.

It will definitely spark some rumours about them.

Not long ago, Liu Ying was being pursued by her clan mate.

She was forced into hiding and didn't even dare to return to the palace.

What do you mean?

You are always well-informed of what's going on,

I suppose you know what I am trying to say?

Okay, okay, okay.

Both of you are my left and right-hand men.

For our Demon Realm, let's cheers!

Starting from this second,

all of our grudges towards each other shall be wiped out!

- Demon Lord, please. - Please.

King of Gucheng, please.

Please.

Good job, good job!

I suggest that let's make a toast to our host, the King of Biancheng.

To the King of Biancheng, the King of Biancheng.

Today, the Demon Lord, the King of Gucheng,

as well as the kings from cities have traveled here from afar.

Your presence has livened up my meager palace.

Please enjoy the feast to your heart's content.

Cheers, everyone.

Come, cheers.

Princess, I have a bad news.

The Demon Lord is dead.

What are you saying?

Demon Lord, Demon Lord, Demon Lord!

Demon Lord, Demon Lord.

Take him down!

The Demon Doctor stated that he was killed by poison.

The King of Gucheng has locked up everyone in the palace.

All the evidence is secured. They'll be sentenced to death in no time.

It is no small matter. Do others have no opinions on this?

Is Lord Wang of Qincheng informed of this?

The cunning King of Gucheng has earned great trust from the Demon Lord.

Half of the armed forces and the power are vested in his hand.

Furthermore, the evidence is obvious. The generals can only obey his orders.

There is no time for explanation, princess.

Let's make haste and go to the Prison of Demon.

I will stake my own life to save the king for you.

Okay.

Princess, what's wrong?

If we delay further, it'll be too late.

You told me that everyone in the palace is locked up.

You are one of my father's men,

you have even helped to escort the King of Yancheng yesterday.

How would the King of Gucheng let you go easily?

I...

I fought with my life and escaped!

Are you sure?

If what you said was true,

King of Gucheng will alert the whole city to capture you.

How would he let you sneak your way here?

Perhaps you have already placed your men outside of the prison.

Once I try to rescue my father,

then my actions will be evidence of my father's crime!

You are clever at the wrong time.

If you could follow me to the Prison of Demon,

you can reunite with your father...

and save yourself some pain.

You are a bunch of ungrateful animals!

It is surely you who chose to side with the King of Gucheng,

and sabotaged my father!

And now wish to capture me so that you could claim your award?

The King of Biancheng and his daughter have planned to kill the Demon Lord...

and now she's refused to surrender. Take her down now!

Run!

We are not going to let you run away just like that.

Charge!

Mu Ci, King of Yancheng has passed away.

The King of Biancheng is imprisoned.

The Demon Realm is wholly controlled by the King of Gucheng.

There is no use if you try to play hero here.

I'd advise you to run away quickly.

- Get some help to save your father. - No way, I can't leave you alone.

Don't worry, I can still defend against these men.

Be careful then.

Your Highness, why do you seem so troubled today?

I paid a visit to my mother.

Could it be that...

it was the Heavenly Empress who killed Water Immortal and Wind Immortal?

She didn't deny it.

It seems that she is associated with it.

I am sorry that I am too powerless to help you, Your Highness.

There is no progress at all until now.

I did not intend to kill them, but they died because of me.

Everything that my mother has done could be traced back to me.

If my mother was the one who killed the Water Immortal,

she could not escape her death then.

At that moment,

how could I ensure her safety?

How could I explain to Jin Mi?

How could I face my own conscience?

It is indeed a dilemma.

Your Highness, something happened in Demon Realm.

I was not at the scene, these are all I know.

The King of Gucheng has employed such a trick...

to lure me to save my father and become an evidence of his crime.

When the six realms were in a void,

my father was among the eldest who controlled the Demon Realm.

If he is being sentenced to death in such a reckless manner,

then we are allowing the murderer to roam freely in the world.

Therefore, please lend me your help, Your Majesty.

The Princess of Biancheng, as you have said,

the King of Yancheng was enjoying the feast in Mansion of Biancheng...

but was killed by poisons.

The diagnosis of the Demon Doctor could prove this.

Then, do you have...

the evidence which King of Gucheng used to sabotage your father.

I watched it with my own eyes how my father's army betrayed him.

If what I'm saying is really fake, why should my father suffer for it?

My wounds are still fresh. Please investigate this.

If the King of Biancheng had killed the King of Yancheng,

it is normal for his subordinates to betray him.

My father is highly respected in the Demon Realm.

He has been trying to bridge...

the relationship between Heaven Realm and Demon Realm.

Does the Heaven Realm...

still have doubts about my father's character at this moment?

- Calm down, princess. - How could I calm down?

Biancheng has always been friendly with the Heaven Realm.

But when the King of Gucheng sabotaged us,

my father is wronged and will receive a death sentence in a few days' time,

I've traveled all the way here to ask for your help.

But Your Majesty has decided to ignore it.

Your cruelty gave me shivers.

I was willing to listen to the whole account of your story...

because of my sympathy towards your encounters and injuries.

Now, all the immortal are present.

The King of Biancheng is wronged, but there is no evidence to prove it.

How am I going to lay my hands on affairs...

of the Demon Realms when I am sitting far away from it?

Now the King of Yancheng has died.

Without a King, the Demon Realm is in a state of chaos and confusion.

It's right for the Heaven Realm to learn about what had happened.

Princess Liu Ying, you have gone through such incidents and injured...

you must have been exhausted.

Let Immortal Taisi heal you at the quarters.

I accept your orders.

Princess. Princess, please stay.

If it were not for the fact that both her father and her...

have always been friendly with Heaven Realm,

I would have found her guilty of contempt.

Princess. Princess, please stay.

Princess, please stay.

Princess, please stay.

This Heaven Realm is so vast,

but none of the people is willing to support my father and I.

All of you, immortals, are truly disappointing.

This thing will not work if we rush it.

The eldest prince is now trying to convince His Majesty.

Please calm down first, princess.

I would rather rely on myself than to rely on you.

Father, you have always been kind and tolerant.

Princess Liu Ying is determined to save her father.

Although it seems like a coercive measure,

Heaven Realm does not have any ground to intervene.

However, if we leave it as it is,

the 3 forces in Demon Realm...

and the check-and-balances between them will no longer exist.

We must be careful about this.

Among the kings in the Demon Realm,

the eldest King of Qincheng always practises his power in solitary...

and pays no regards to things around him.

The King of Gucheng is very ambitious.

He hides behind the King of Yancheng and has been...

trying to destroy the relationships between the kings.

His intention to betray is clear.

Fortunately, the King of Biancheng was there to keep him in check.

And that's how he gave us the peace we are now enjoying.

Without the King of Biancheng,

the other members of the Elders...

who either have their own wild ambitions...

or side with whoever is stronger,

the six realms will suffer a disaster if this situation persists.

Moreover, there are a lot of loopholes in this case.

We should not close this case simply.

We should send our people to investigate it thoroughly.

Your Majesty,

what the Night Immortal and Moon Immortal said make sense.

Nowadays, it is difficult to maintain peace in the Demon Realm.

Therefore, we must not let King of Gucheng wield all the powers.

Then who shall take this huge responsibility?

I am willing to go to the Demon Realm and assist my father on this.

The one who is most familiar with the affairs of Demon Realm...

will be the Fire Immortal.

How long has he been staying in his quarter and repenting on his mistake?

It has already been one month.

Kneel down now!

I have committed no wrong, why should I kneel down?

King of Gucheng, you are anxious to kill me,

is it because you wish to conceal the truth?

King of Biancheng, owing to our previous friendly relationship,

I still call you as the King of Biancheng.

The Demon Lord treated you most generously,

but you are ungrateful for all that he has done for you.

You poisoned the Demon Lord and planned to take the throne yourself.

Now, I have sufficient evidence to find you guilty.

- Your death is well-deserved. - Don't put the blame on me!

It was me who invited the Demon Lord for the feast,

why would I poison him on my own land?

What you did is a sabotage, you...

Today, I will get rid of the evildoers on behalf of the Demon Realm...

and give your blood to the Demon Lord as sacrifice.

It is good time now.

I shall send you off myself!

By the way,

I know you care about Liu Ying the most.

I promise, when I get hold of her,

I will send her to the afterlife and reunite with you.

You are a monster,

a monster!

It's time. Bring out the Demon Dagger!

The sky has fallen.

The sun and moon appear.

From the world we come,

to the void we enter.

Come forth, all demons and monsters.

No one can hurt my father!

Liu Ying,

I was worrying that you wouldn't show up.

Take her down!

I was wondering who was it,

so it was you, the remnant of Immortality Destructing Tribe!

Today, I will eliminate all of you!

Mu Ci,

I am fine, get your father.

- Xu Feng. - Fire Immortal?

This case is yet to be decided.

King of Gucheng is already eager to find the King of Biancheng guilty.

Is it a bit too unfair?

This is a matter of our Demon Realm,

mind your own business, Heaven Realm.

Indeed, the Heaven Realm should not interfere with Demon Realm's affairs.

But both realms will always influence one another.

If the Demon Realm is unstable,

I am afraid that there will be an impact on the Heaven Realm as well.

The death of the Demon Lord is a serious matter.

The connection between Heaven Realm and Demon Realm...

is also part of the duty of the Demon Realm.

However, King of Gucheng is not Demon Lord.

To execute the Demon Lord's power and sentence a king to death...

seems inappropriate.

The Demon Lord has fallen, there is no one to guide us.

What is so inappropriate if I do what is just...

on behalf of the people in the Demon Realm?

Moreover,

I will not let others trample on the law of the Demon Realm.

Whether it is just or not, I must first investigate it.

You don't have to rush this matter.

Heavenly Emperor was in agony when he learned about the death of Demon Lord.

His Majesty hence ordered me to help the King of Gucheng in investigation,

so that the innocent men may walk free.

If the King of Gucheng is unwilling,

you are welcome to confront my father in the Heaven Realm.

Fine, since the Heavenly Emperor has his own suspicion,

then you may investigate however detailed you wish.

Only that since the Demon Lord was poisoned in Mansion of Biancheng,

if you couldn't get hold of the murderer,

then the King of Biancheng will be found guilty.

Okay.

I will just need 3 days to find out the truth.

Thanks to you, Moon Immortal,

the second prince has finally earned back his trust from the Emperor.

You are both smart and courageous.

Actually, as for me,

I do not wish to intervene in these governmental affairs.

But Xu Feng was eager to rescue the King of Biancheng.

It was actually him who taught me what to say.

But you have given a great cooperation.

The second prince always tells us...

to learn more from you, the Moon Immortal.

Really?

Xu Feng said that?

Read more stories and books.

Yes, yes, yes.

However, those stories and books that you usually read,

aren't about romantic relationships between men and women?

This romance between men and women is linked to the Yin and Yang.

Aren't the Yin and Yang parts of the world's element?

Stupid.

- Yes, yes, yes. - Yes, yes, yes.

Xu Feng,

this Demon Doctor who was present when King of Yancheng is poisoned.

Greetings, Fire Immortal.

Forgo the formality

So you were there at the scene.

What sort of poison was it which killed the Demon Lord?

Fire Immortal,

looking at how the King of Yancheng dies,

he seemed to be poisoned by the Jiang Zhu Grass.

However I could not be very sure that...

it was really the poison from this grass.

Jiang Zhu Grass?

Although I never see it myself,

my father spoke about it before.

It was first found in the Moyin Cave.

No plants can grow near it...

and all animals in that area will be dead.

Moreover, it could kill those from the Demon Realm.

Therefore, 70,000 years ago,

the Demon Tribe has used Heavenly Fire to burn it down.

Jiang Zhu Grass is already gone from the world.

However, 700 years ago,

I heard that the King of Medicine, Li Chuan, wanted to grow it back.

He was locked up in the Prison of Demon after that.

After he was released, no one was able to locate him.

Therefore, whether Li Chuan succeeded in growing it back remains a mystery.

Therefore, I could not say it for sure.

Therefore, we must first locate Li Chuan.

He is already gone for 700 years,

where should we find him at this moment?

We only have 3 days' time.

Jiang Zhu grass grows in Moyin Cave.

Is there anything special about the Moyin Cave?

Since the prehistoric times, the Moyin Cave is extremely cold.

After it was burned down by the Heavenly Fire,

today, it has become a hot and desolate desert.

That means,

you can only grow Jiang Zhu Grass at places with extreme coldness.

Exactly.

But now in the Demon Realm,

are there any such places?

I discover nothing at the west side, what about you?

There is also no discovery at the east side.

Ever since Moyin Cave becomes a blazing desert,

there are no more places with extreme cold in the Demon Realm.

And those places where the animals frequent...

are difficult to enter even if there are places with extreme coldness.

I don't think anyone has the ability...

to plant Jiang Zhu grass at those places.

Just now, at the mid of Mi Mountain,

I discovered another barrier.

The temperature within the barrier is very low.

But this barrier is strongly fortified, I could not break it.

Let's take a look.

It is Jiang Zhu Grass, could it be Li Chuan?
