"Ashes of Love"

"Episode 38"

I've sacrificed everything for you for my entire life.

I don't want anything else.

I only have one wish.

Xu Feng is my only child,

I believe Your Majesty...

knows what I want.

Get up first.

I intended to pass the throne to Xu Feng.

Regrettably, you've misconducted...

and lost all supports,

got our child into troubles.

For 10 thousand years,

you've been on your high horse,

everyone worships you.

Has Your Majesty ever thought that...

who has helped you to eliminate the dissenters...

and strengthen your power secretly?

I don't mind being criticized.

But am I really immoral...

or I was just solving the problems for you?

Your Majesty, don't you have the answer?

Alright.

I promise you...

I'll let Xu Feng inherit the throne.

Your Majesty, please issue the decree now.

Let Xu Feng marry Sui He as soon as possible.

So that the bird tribe will pledge loyalty to the Heaven Realm.

You don't believe me?

As long as Your Majesty...

makes plan for Xu Feng's future,

I have no other requests.

And I'm willing to die.

We are husband and wife.

I'll uphold decency for both you and I.

I won't let you die.

Granted.

We are one as husband and wife.

Unshakable our love is.

A reunion shall I return safely.

An eternal longing shall I perish.

Tai Wei,

we've reached this stage after all.

Mother,

sorry that I'm being unfilial.

There are 2 years and 9 months to go.

I'll have to owe you for now.

After taking revenge,

I'll follow the customs of the dragonfish tribe...

to observe 3-year mourning for you.

Have you heard?

The bird tribe isn't peaceful.

Elder Yin Que went to the Demon Realm...

to feast with the demon lord.

Really?

It looks like...

Yin Que wants to rally the bird tribe against the Heaven Realm.

Isn't Princess Sui He the leader of the bird tribe?

Sui He always stays in the Heaven Realm,

she's been keeping a distance with us.

She is unable to compete with Yin Que...

in terms of capability, experience and popularity.

Heavenly Empress is no longer in power.

Yin Que...

will be the biggest hindrance for Sui He to take power.

If Heavenly Empress asked Sui He...

to frame Yin Que for associating with the Demon Realm,

I wouldn't be surprised.

What if it is true?

If this is true,

Yin Que can be regarded as a hero.

For thousands of years,

Yi Miao Continent has been Heavenly Emperor's private property.

The bird tribe has been holding a grudge.

Since Heavenly Empress has lost her power,

the mess which was covered up in the past has emerged now.

No one is able to suppress it.

Yin Que is making contact with the Demon Realm.

Firstly, it is in line with the opinion of the tribe.

Secondly,

he wants to take advantage of the power shuffle of the bird tribe,

using the Demon Realm as a weapon...

to threaten Heavenly Emperor for a negotiation with the Heaven Realm.

What Your Highness means is...

when Heavenly Empress is in trouble,

Heavenly Emperor doesn't punish bird tribe as he cherishes old friends.

But they haven't behaved themselves...

and they even threatened the Heaven Realm.

How much pressure they'll give to Heavenly Emperor?

It depends on Yin Que's capability.

The bird tribe will probably plot to divide the powers.

The Demon Realm is getting stronger day by day.

They are the one to win over.

If the bird tribe really stages a revolt,

it'll be a heavy blow to the Heaven Realm.

After His Highness recovered,

he has turned into someone different.

You have to be well-prepared...

in order to walk upright in the battlefield.

Are you feeling better?

Thank you father for your concern.

I am fine.

But mother...

I hope you can be lenient to her...

considering your past relationship.

I've visited your mother.

She told me...

that she's willing to admit her crimes and be executed.

But...

she is worried about your future.

Mother made many mistakes because of me.

I should share half of the responsibilities.

What has it got to do with you?

I've long wanted to pass the throne to you.

You'll marry Sui He...

to strengthen the power of the bird tribe.

While Run Yu will marry Jin Mi...

to form an alliance with the water tribe.

The Heaven Realm will hold a stable position...

and the world will be at peace.

Me and Sui He...

I know who is on your mind.

But she is your brother's wife.

Aren't you afraid of being the laughing stock of the Heaven Realm?

Furthermore, it can't compare with the stability of the Heaven Realm.

If you want to sit on the throne,

there are things that you have to let go.

Jin Mi is one of them.

If I really have to choose,

I'd rather choose Jin Mi.

You...

Do you think you are a free immortal?

You went down to the earth with Jin Mi without permission,

you've created a lot of problems last time.

Now, you ignore the vow taken...

by Water Immortal and I.

How can I...

pass the throne to you?

It is not that I don't know what is right to do.

But Jin Mi is more important than anything else.

Hope you can give us your blessing.

How dare you!

Please don't be mad, father.

Father.

As the mortals say,

"The elegant virtuous lady, a fine match for a gentleman."

But Xu Feng...

father and Water Immortal took a vow before.

Jin Mi and I are deeply in love with each other.

Why do you want to make things difficult for us?

Deeply in love?

Do you...

still want to deceive yourself?

I know my own wife very well.

But Fire Immortal...

keeps holding on what happened in a few days on earth,

and becomes romantically entangled with Jin Mi.

You really put me in a difficult position.

Alright.

Stop arguing.

Both of you are supposed to share my burdens.

Instead, you're fighting with each other.

How unseemly!

Run Yu, I asked you here...

as your wedding is approaching,

you should start planning.

My eldest son is getting married.

It is the most joyous event of Heaven Realm in thousands of years.

It has to be perfect.

You can use the treasures in the Heaven Mansion as you like.

Thank you, father.

Father,

I beg you...

to renounce the engagement of Jin Mi and brother.

- Jin Mi and I are truly... - Shut up!

Your mother has overindulged you,

you've become so bold!

Now you even covet your brother's wife.

This is a shame of the Heaven Realm.

A disgrace of the family.

It seems like Tu Yao's punishment is too light.

This is my own fault.

What's it got to do with mother?

If you want to blame someone,

just punish me.

Alright.

Listen, Fire Immortal Xu Feng,

you‘re so ill-mannered and rebellious,

losing all public supports.

From today onwards,

you're deprived of the military power and the Red Clouds Sword.

I order you to ponder over your mistake in solitude.

Mu Ci.

Mu Ci.

Mu Ci.

Take care, don't miss me.

He ran away again.

Juicy sea-firefly,

grilled python,

vinegar roasted red spider lily,

nine treasures Mengpo soup.

Dishes are not so important.

The Demon Lord loves drinking.

You have to prepare more Drunken Buddha...

and Moon Brew.

It's been done yesterday.

All are kept in the wine cellar.

Alright.

He's gone.

Who's gone?

Mu Ci.

Have you searched thoroughly?

He only left a note.

He is nowhere to be found again.

He must have learned about his health.

- Did you tell him? - No way.

He is very sensitive.

He's worried that he'll get us into trouble.

He didn't leave without saying goodbye.

At least he left a note.

It is good enough.

- I have to find him. - Where do you want to go?

He is too weak...

to travel far.

I'm going to bring him back.

What if you can't find him?

I'll keep looking then.

I have thousands of years of life anyway.

Plenty of time to lose.

I'll stick to the very end.

Mu Ci!

Where are you?

We've been through life and death for so many times,

fought with death for so many times,

we finally reunited with each other.

Yet you fail to keep your promise again and run away.

Have you ever meant what you said?

If you think this is wrong.

I'm willing to continue making the mistakes with you.

The names we carved...

and the time we spent together...

will stay even thousands of years pass by.

It'll become...

an everlasting memory.

Never wished to get into dispute.

Didn't we have a deal?

Don't you think I'll let you go like this.

Even if I have to turn the six realms upside down,

I'll look for you...

until I get old...

until I die.

Mu Ci, wait for me.

Never wished to get into dispute, but things never go my way.

Where are you?

You're so cruel,

leaving no trace at all.

Not even a shadow.

I have no choice.

But princess, you have a choice.

Forget me.

A bottle of wine, a body covered in dirt.

Memories come back and forth for the rest of my life.

When are you going to stop looking for him?

Stop torturing yourself.

Listen to me.

Go back with me.

- I don't want to go back. - Ying Er.

Go back with me.

- Leave me alone, I won't go back. - Ying Er.

- I won't go back if I can't find him. - Ying Er.

I know you feel terrible.

He'll come back.

Listen to me.

Go back with me.

Isn't this the seal of the great elder...

of the Demon Realm, the King of Qingcheng?

For these 60 years,

the great elder has been traveling around everywhere.

No one knows his whereabouts. Where did you get this stamp from?

The great elder?

The great elder has wide knowledge and experience.

He is the greatest wise man in the Demon Realm.

If we can find him and ask for his help.

Mu Ci can be saved then.

Forget it.

Even if you ask the great elder for help, it'll be futile.

Again,

in order to get rid of body decomposing silkworm...

you have to find someone who practises fire spell in Heaven Realm.....

otherwise it can't be cured.

Your Majesty, Yin Que has been showing up in the Demon Realm.

It is my fault.

But he always does what he wants and never takes me seriously.

Tall oaks from little acorns grow.

Didn't you notice it before?

When aunt was in power,

our people dared not disobey her.

We are united as one to build the prestige of the Heaven Realm.

But now aunt...

aunt is no longer around,

the fairies of the bird tribe are getting more defiant.

Who is the leader of the bird tribe?

It is me.

Sorry that I can't even manage a small tribe well.

Your Majesty, please punish me.

Your Majesty, I'm willing to redeem myself.

Please instruct Fire Immortal to dispatch his troops...

and follow me to Yi Miao Continent...

to restore order.

It is yet to be confirmed.

Why the rush?

We have to get the army ready...

in case anything happens.

Father,

I'm here to look up information in books.

Please forgive me if I disrupt your meeting.

Never mind.

Since you're here, you can join us.

You go on.

Father,

the bird tribe has been loyal to the Heaven Realm.

Most of them are righteous and kind.

However, they want a change at this critical period,

they may be incited by someone and misled for the moment.

I think...

you can announce an imperial decree to appease them.

Firstly,

it can show forth our graciousness.

Secondly,

it can thwart the plan of sowing discord...

devised by people with bad intention.

Someone attempts to divide the Heaven Realm and the bird tribe.

We have to nip it in the bud.

I beg father...

to appoint a special envoy...

for bringing a troop of heavenly soldiers to Yi Miao Continent...

to investigate Yin Que and other elders of the bird tribe...

and punish the mastermind severely.

I agree what Night Immortal has said.

You draft an imperial edict at once...

to announce the decision.

Yes, father.

I took away Xu Feng's military power,

as for the envoy and soldiers...

Father,

the bird tribe doesn't really want to stage a revolt.

We just have to be cautious and give them a soft warning.

There's no need to ask Fire Immortal to go to Yi Miao Continent.

It may give those birds a fright and make them panic.

It's unnecessary to kill the chicken with Phoenix Feather Arrow.

I'll think about...

the candidate for the envoy.

Send Star Guardian Po Jun to station there to stand by.

Yes, father.

Princess Sui He,

I'm sure you know...

how to appease your fellow tribe members, right?

Yes.

Let's wait no more.

Princess Sui He, please go back to Yi Miao Continent to take care of it.

Yes, I shall take my leave now.

I shall leave now.

Hold on.

How's your injury?

Thank you father for your concern.

I'm fine.

You come to Sheng Jing Court very often lately.

What are you reading?

I found some books regarding self-cultivation...

by Supreme Clarity Heaven.

I'm studying them.

Great.

You are kind and studious.

It is good.

You should also read books about heavenly history and the art of war.

What are you laughing about?

I was thinking about my teacher when I was a child.

An osprey's crying on the islet in the river.

The elegant virtuous lady, a fine match for the gentleman.

Uneven water spinach, the water flows to the left and right.

The elegant virtuous lady, I search for her day and night.

You still remember it.

Tu Yao was biased...

and she didn't want to hire a teacher for you.

I couldn't just stay watching anymore,

so I decided to teach you myself.

But I was so occupied with military affairs,

that I could only teach you for half a year.

It is a regret.

Because of your teaching,

I manage to stay on the right track.

I enjoy great benefit from your teaching.

- Thank you so much. - It is not easy for you.

As long as you want to learn and excel,

the door of Sheng Jing Court...

will always open for you.

Thank you, father.

Get up.

All the mortals say...

that emperor prefers the eldest son but the people love the youngest one.

They have a point.

You are my eldest son,

how would I not love you?

You've been very kind, diligent and studious since young.

I have high expectation on you.

But you were too young to protect yourself.

Tu Yao's men were everywhere.

If I was nice to you, you would be under attack.

It wouldn't do you any good.

You tried very hard...

to protect me.

Do you think I don't know?

I did...

something bad to your mother.

Do you hate me?

Let bygones be bygones.

Why do you bring it up again?

I had no choice.

The Demon Realm made a massive invasion that year.

The southern-east water troop is very powerful...

but they stood aside.

I had no choice but to take such unwise move.

Because of your mother,

I was able to take 800miles of Tai Lake...

and save my soldiers.

After all these years,

I still feel...

very guilty to you and your mother.

I always want to...

make it up to the both of you.

You're willing to tell me the truth.

I...

I really appreciate it.

Xu Feng controls the Divine Army Mansion...

and Heaven Realm Portal, it is a huge responsibility,

but he is so ill-mannered and rebellious.

I'm very worried.

I think...

I'll hand it over to you for now.

Thank you father.

I'll definitely do my best.

I won't let you down.

Get up now.

Thank you for helping me out just now.

Nature is the true law, a man reaps what he sows.

I couldn't bear to see the bird tribe suffer...

because of Heavenly Empress's faults and your mistakes.

It is a small favour.

Don't mention it.

I wonder how's mother right now?

Father was mad at me for asking him...

to renounce the engagement of Run Yu and Jin Mi.

He even forbade me to visit my mother.

I, the Fire Immortal,

have never been so spineless.

Prince, you still have plenty of time.

Heavenly Empress's problem cannot be solved in one day.

But Jin Mi will be getting married soon.

I'm afraid that you'll regret it if you don't hurry.

Your Highness, you're still being grounded.

Aunt.

I've been waiting for you for long.

Immortal, thank you.

Amazing.

You only attacked me after 50 moves.

You keep the overall situation in mind and play steadily.

Even I captured 7 pieces of yours,

you remained calm and were certain to win.

You've flattered me.

I've been arraying stars for long.

I think playing chess is...

somewhat much the same as it.

The chessboard is similar to the sky.

The pieces are like stars.

A small star can change the whole situation.

It is so much alike.

The black and white pieces represent Yin and Yang,

the good and bad, the conflict,

victory and failure.

It is different from seeking for the truth...

when you're looking up at the universe to array the stars.

It is great that you can make the connections.

Chess game is like the battlefield.

One move can determine life and death.

How to seek the truth if you're not certain to win?

Three months of mourning...

for your mother has really changed how you view things.

The dragonfish tribe was wiped out.

My mother has died.

How can I be unmoved?

For the future of Jin Mi and I,

I'm prepared to die...

and sacrifice my life...

for a battle.

Immortal, Fire Immortal wants to see you.

Greetings, Immortal.

Welcome Fire Immortal,

I wonder what brings you here?

I come to see Jin Mi...

and apologize to you and Jin Mi on behalf of my mother.

My daughter is too weak to see anyone.

Heavenly Empress will be punished by heavenly law.

I appreciate your kindness, please leave now.

Immortal.

Jin Mi has just escaped from death.

The immortal is very angry now.

Stop adding fuel to the fire.

If you really have her benefit in mind,

why don't you just leave?

You are so caring and thoughtful.

You're such a good son and son-in-law,

coming in and out here like you're in Xuan Ji Palace.

Jin Mi is my fiancée.

She is injured and I'll take good care of her.

You don't have to worry.

Is this really...

for Jin Mi's own sake?

Both of you...

came to Jin Mi's rescue when she was in trouble.

I'm very grateful for that.

But Mi Er is recuperating now.

Anything else,

just wait until she recovers...

and make the call.

Immortal.

I almost lost Mi Er.

Now,

I just want Mi Er to stay safe, healthy and happy,

nothing else matters anymore.

Jin Mi,

are you feeling better?

How is your injury?

Is it better?

It is a small injury, don't worry.

Don't come here anymore.

Why did you say this?

Did you come out to ask me to leave?

Come with me.

I've transferred all my prowess to you.

With the glass fire,

you must revive the bird tribe...

and assist Xu Feng to ascend the throne.

I understand.

Xu Feng and the bird tribe depend on you.

Don't let me down.

Aunt,

I won't let you down.

I know.

My mother hurt your mother.

I'm sorry.

Doesn't that night mean anything to you?

Sui He and you.

Fish Fairy and I.

It is great.

Everyone will be happy.

What do you mean?

Get it straight.

Sui He...

Liao Ting, Fei Xu!

Yes, Your Highness.

Since when is Qi Wu Palace open for anyone?

Your Highness, pardon us.

We also don't know when did Jin Mi come in.

Jin Mi is from Qi Wu Palace.

Who told you to stop her?

I realize I keep a bunch of fools in Qi Wu Palace.

You're just like Liao Yuan!

Your Highness, are you looking for me?

Let me ask you.

When I was sick for the past few days, did Sui He come?

Yes, she did. She came here every day.

She has been staying by your side all days long.

Who let her in?

You were unconscious because of the injury.

Even though you didn't allow her to come in,

you also didn't forbid her to do so.

Your Highness,

Princess Sui He is free to move.

She is a supreme immortal, your relative and your fiance.

If she wants to come in, we are unable to stop her.

Then...

Wouldn't it be impolite not to let her in?

Impolite?

I've never promised her anything.

From now on, don't let anyone in without my permission.

Yes.

- Yes. - You may go.

Are you jealous?

I'm not.

Jin Mi.

I'm deprived of military power and my mother is in prison.

My father forced me to marry Sui He.

If you're still unsure of your feelings,

I can't hold on to it any longer.

Your mother is your mother.

You are you.

I won't hate you.

But...

But...

We can no longer be together.

I understand.

My mother killed your mother.

I know I'm not fitted to...

ask you to be with me.

But I just want to make amends for my mother.

I want to know...

if you have made up your mind...

to get married with Run Yu.

As long as it can please my father and Fish Fairy,

I'll do it.

If you're happy,

I'll surely bless you.

I know you don't love Run Yu.

If you marry him,

you won't have a happy life.

In short, we can't be together.

If we're together,

my father and Fish Fairy will be upset.

If we're not together,

I...

I...

I...

Don't touch me.

I don't know what's wrong with me.

I...

Whenever you come near me,

my heart aches.

The minute you come near me,

I feel terribly sick.

I don't know why.

I don't know what to do.

Stop following me.

Stop following me!

Heavenly Empress is imprisoned.

The poison of the body decomposing silkworm is spreading.

What should I do?

Does the heaven really want to take my life?

Thank you Princess Sui He for saving me.

Follow me.

The Immortality Destructing Arrow...

is made of the blood and bones of the Immortality Destructing Tribe.

All these years, the making of the arrow...

has almost used up my blood and bones.

Heavenly Empress's prowess helps me to get by,

but I'm basically a useless man.

I'm afraid that I can't help you...

to achieve great accomplishment.

So please allow me to retreat to the mountain...

for the rest of my life.

Aunt has lost her power for now.

The bird tribe's decline is temporary.

And you want to follow those hypocritical immortals...

and desert us?

I don't dare.

If Heavenly Empress didn't save me,

I wouldn't have lived until now.

I owe her so much that I can't pay her back now.

I'll repay her in my next life.

Do you want to go and find your old lover, Princess of Biancheng?

Me and Liu Ying...

No.

Me and Princess of Biancheng have become strangers.

Our relationship is over.

Immortality Destructing Arrow.

Make another Immortality Destructing Arrow for me.

I'll get rid of your Body Decomposing Silkworm...

and give you back your freedom.

You can go to Princess of Biancheng to rekindle your love,

alright?

You don't believe me?
