Legend of Fei

Episode 44

What happened?

Aunt.

She fell when I came in.

The culprit got away.

How is my mother?

She is poisoned, but the poison is unknown.

Fortunately, the poison hasn't entered her heart.

She's merely unconscious.

We need to know the poison to cure it.

Who broke in to poison my mother?

Who could it be?

The culprit was a woman.

She was agile. I think she's not an ordinary person.

I think the poison was added to the candle.

Fortunately, my aunt realised it in time and broke the candle.

It's the same method used...

...by Lianshen to kill Mu Xiaoqiao?

Candle. The snake charmer said that...

...it's Great Apothecary Valley's way to poison a candle.

The needle is the same as the one used...

...by Lianshen at Small Apothecary Valley.

Wasn't she killed by Master Vermillion?

Now it seems...

...Lianshen wasn't killed.

Mu Xiaoqiao said...

...he didn't see her face clearly when she died.

Why did she want to poison Mistress Li?

Not only she failed, she could've been caught by us.

She must have done it for the objects.

"Poxue Skills"

"To Zhou Fei"

A'Fei.

Aunt has a letter to you.

"A'Fei, the clues of the five objects...

...have been kept in Yitang's chessboard."

It's a mechanism, but the thing has been taken away.

There is nothing we can do to clear Lianshen's poison.

I can only suppress the poison for the time being.

Ying Hecong said Lianshen could only poison instead of curing one.

I don't believe it. There must be a way so long as we can catch...

...Lianshen, who loves poison.

Fortunately, I ordered to close the entrance before I came.

Lianshen might not get to leave the mountain.

Cousin, let's split up. Go to the front gate.

I'll go elsewhere to stop her. -All right.

Come with me.

Take care of my mother.

Pass my order. Divide yourselves into teams.

It's dangerous if you bump into Lianshen alone.

Noted.

Don't worry. You have me.

As soon as I received the order to search the mountain.....

This isn't right. It's more than be a coincidence.

Let's go to Elder Hall.

Seal the entrance and catch the assassin!

There is no hurry.

Proceed to the front. You will go to the river!

Check if anyone is hiding in the mountain! Don't miss any spot!

Noted. -Mistress, we didn't go in time.

Now we can't as they're alerted.

Stay calm.

We'll get the best chance to run once they get...

...the useless prince.

The rest, follow me to the gate. -Noted.

Wait. I'm still worried.

Bring a few to check that trail.

The one with the incident? It's unknown to outsiders.

Go, just in case. -Noted. Let's go!

Move.

Here it is. Guard the exit. -Noted.

I wanted to pass the gate in disguise,...

...but they chose to present their lives to me.

They asked for it.

Why is this happening? -What should we do?

Sheng'er, has something really happened to Mistress Li?

Brother Yang, tell them what happened...

...at Elder Hall today.

I was having a duel today.

I came after I heard something went missing at Elder Hall.

Mountain River Jade is confirmed to be gone after a search.

Who's guarding Elder Hall today? -It's.....

Was it you? -It's me.

How dare you stop the prince! Do you want to revolt?

We only obey Mistress Li.

The gate is sealed tonight. No one is allowed to leave!

Sir.

My prince is a guest of Mistress Li.

Is there a misunderstanding? Why are you stopping us here?

To be honest, someone has broken into the stronghold.

She has stolen the gift given by the third prince to Mistress Li.

We're ordered to seal the gate. We need to catch the thief.

You shouldn't have stopped me then.

I presented the gift personally.

Would I want to steal it?

Sorry, Your Highness, we won't allow anyone to pass...

...before getting to the bottom of it.

Fine. Since you want to search the mountain,...

...search us first.

If you can't find what you want on us,...

...please speak to Mistress Li and Ms. Zhou...

...to let us pass. -Forgive us.

Do it! -Noted!

It's all right! Let them search.

We have nothing to hide.

Senior, we found something.

Senior, here it is.

Mountain River Jade! Bring them to Elder Hall!

Noted.

It seems to be a knock-out drug. -A knock-out drug?

Who used the drug? -It's a knock-out drug.

What happened before you fainted? -I.....

I think I saw a lady, but she seemed like a stranger.

She isn't one of us.

Sir. -Mr. Xie.

What happened here? Where is Sister Zhou?

Mistress Li is poisoned.

Sister Zhou is trying to catch the culprit.

Poisoned? -It's Disha.

Elder Zhang sent all disciples to look for the thieves.

"This is bad. Zichen."

"The gate is sealed. This is the only exit."

Lianshen.

Seize the thieves!

They colluded with Lianshen of Disha to poison Mistress Li!

Gentlemen, there must be a misunderstanding.

Please allow us to clarify it to Mistress Li.

So this was why you tried to leave the mountain in a hurry.

Seize them! -Go!

Wait, gentlemen.

Godbrother.

Mr. Xie.

What are you trying to do?

Elder Zhang, I guarantee with my life...

...that the third prince had no idea about this.

You have no idea, Mr. Xie.

I just found out that he's the one who brought Lianshen along.

Lianshen was the one who poisoned Mistress Li.

Please step aside.

Elder Zhang, think again.

There's no grudge between us.

The prince has no reason to poison Mistress Li.

All officials and noblemen are cruel and unscrupulous.

No one can tell what they're up to.

Speak. Were you on the order of the emperor?

I only came to propose a marriage.

I didn't come to poison Mistress Li.

You brought Lianshen here in the name of a marriage proposal.

She poisoned Mistress Li. You're definitely an accomplice!

It's not impossible. -I.....

The Chen family bears a grudge against Disha for long.

Lianshen must have made the prince a scapegoat.

Xie Yun, don't blame me...

...for forsaking our friendship if you insist on stopping us.

I'll kill you, too!

Why would we collude with Disha? It's nonsense.

Not only you falsely accused me, you got my godbrother involved.

Zichen, stop and leave now.

Seize them!

Uncle Zhang.

Sheng'er?

Mr. Xie has a good intention. Put down your spear.

Sheng'er, even when we owe him a favour,...

...Mistress Li is poisoned by his sworn brother.

Don't just listen to him.

Uncle Zhang, calm down before getting to the bottom...

...of it.

Your Highness, where are your two physicians?

They said they'd wait at the foot of the mountain.

Your Highness, in this case, the physician who offered...

...to treat you was Lianshen.

It seems Lianshen impersonated a physician and sneaked...

...into the stronghold with an excuse to treat the prince.

She seized the chance to steal the objects.

She poisoned aunt in an attempt to make the prince a scapegoat...

...and let us fight against each other.

If Disha gets its way and the imperial court...

...has a falling-out with 48 Stronghold,...

...the people will suffer

You may leave, Your Highness.

I've brought trouble to all of you.

I'll find a way to make up for it.

Lianshen was well-prepared.

I'm afraid she has escaped.

A'Fei has gotten off the mountain to go after Lianshen.

We should follow her to kill Lianshen.

Is A'Fei all alone?

Yes. I don't know where she has gone.

I'm worried.

Mr. Xie!

Mistress, we should take a rest.

We ran overnight and no one is coming after us.

We've escaped 48 Stronghold.

I have the objects with me.

I just want to hurry back to the manor.

Someone will receive us once we leave...

...the territory of 48 Stronghold.

Do you think I'm afraid of others?

I'm afraid of the one who will receive us.

We should be careful with the objects.

Once we walk out of this forest, contact a spy of Disha...

...as soon as possible...

...to seek Master Shen. -Noted.

Rest here for a while. I'll fetch you some water.

Ms. Zhou, you can't save your mother...

...if you kill me.

Let me go and I'll give you the antidote of Drown Sorrow.

"So my mother suffers from the poison of Drown Sorrow."

Isn't it true...

...that you know only to poison, instead of curing a person?

Even so, I.....

Stop talking. Your life is worthless without the cure.

Wait.

There is a cure.

Tell me. I'll decide whether to believe you or not.

Ocean Sky.

You can clear the poison after opening the treasure.

It's Ocean Sky again. I see this is all you can make up.

It's true.

I've been poisoned for years and I'm beyond cure.

I sought the objects only because Ocean Sky could save my life.

Where are the objects?

Put down the saber and I'll give them to you.

Here they are.

A'Fei!

A'Fei.

I was careless. I failed to protect Mistress Li.

Hence, she's poisoned by Lianshen.

Don't blame yourself, Sister Dan.

No one expected this to happen.

No.

It should've crossed my mind.

Since I knew they tried to assassinate Master Gan Tang,...

...I should've known that we're next.

They tried to assassinate my uncle? What happened?

We caught Yu Wenzhi's spy at the foot of the mountain.

He said they failed to assassinate Master Gan Tang.

So they looked for him around here.

To avoid panic, Mistress Li...

...ordered me to look for Master Gan Tang...

...without informing you.

It seems...

...there's a link between Lianshen stealing the objects and...

...the attempted assassination. It couldn't be a coincidence.

It seems that they planned it in advance.

Yes, I interrogated the spy,...

...but he said he had no idea of Lianshen's action.

Isn't there a deal between Mistress Li and Master Gan Tang?

Master Gan Tang escaped the assassination.

Mistress Li will recover for sure.

She will.

You're good-for-nothing! -Please don't be angry.

Please don't to be angry. -Both dynasties have...

...a long-standing feud.

Why has the dispute ended in Xiao Chuan's generation?

He is dying, yet he is ruining my plans.

Xiao Chuan.

Send a letter to Shen Tianshu.

I'll accept his request so long as...

...he kills Xiao Chuan for me.

Master Shen has arrived in Hanshui Town. It is said...

...that Master Hu has obtained the five objects of Ocean Sky.

Master Shen is going to receive her.

It seems that Tianying is more reliable.

Xiao Chuan.

Mistress Li is poisoned and unconscious.

Her condition is not looking good.

I'll need help from all of you.

You don't need to say this. -It's our duty.

Where is A'Fei? -She is going after Lianshen.

So I want to join her at the foot...

...of the mountain. -All right.

I'll go with you.

I would like to entrust you with a few things.

Lianshen has escaped, but she may not have gone far.

It's still within our territory at the foot of the mountain.

However, Disha could've planned...

...and made preparation.

Disha are crooks.

Do they really think we fear them?

That's right. -We don't!

We'll go all out. -Fight them.

Elder Zhang, what if Shen Tianshu comes personally?

Therefore, Yang Jin and I will lead a group of elites...

...to catch Lianshen with A'Fei.

The stronghold has internal and external trouble.

You are respectable elders.

Please lead the disciples to defend the stronghold.

Don't give our enemy any chance.

I thank you all in advance.

You don't need to. It's our duty.

Rest assured. -It's our duty.

Chuchu, I'll count on you to look after...

...Mistress Li. -No worries.

Why didn't we see Xie Yun and A'Yan?

Mr. Xie is after A'Fei. I haven't heard from him. I'm quite worried.

Didn't A'Yan leave the mountain to purchase goods?

Mr. Xie said she should've come back today.

I hope she is fine.

This girl.

Is Mistress Li recovering?

Her pulse is still weak like yesterday.

Hopefully, she just fainted.

I can't tell how she'll do tomorrow.

Back then, the old master was poisoned by Lianshen.

Physicians in the stronghold were helpless.

Don't be discouraged.

The more difficult it is for 48 Stronghold,...

...the more we should stay together.

Protecting the stronghold is the only thing we can do.

Then we won't let Sister Zhou and Brother Li down.

Noted.

You've regained consciousness.

Lianshen.....

She is certainly cunning.

She has escaped once again.

Are you unharmed by the poison?

Don't worry. I'm immune to poison after being poisoned...

...by Piercing Green.

However, A'Fei,...

...even when I've sucked out the poison in you,...

...there's still residue in you.

You might be dizzy for a while.

Lianshen told me...

...that Ocean Sky...

...could be used to cure my mother.

Does it contain a cure?

I've never heard of that.

Whether it's true or false,...

...we need to retrieve the objects.

A'Fei, you haven't taken any rest for two days and a night.

Take a nap here.

Don't worry. Li Sheng has left the mountain with some disciples.

Peddlers Gang will do their best to look for Lianshen.

It's not too late if we go after receiving a clue.

"Hanshui Town"

Stop! -Don't move!

Move! -Hurry!

Behave!

It isn't simple for you to follow us this far...

...while trembling with fear.

I'll spare your life. Report to your superior.

I'll destroy all of you in Peddlers Gang...

...if you come to disturb me again.

Noted.

Leave.

Master, they never dare to offend us all this while.

They.....

They must have been entrusted by 48 Stronghold.

Urge Gu Tianxian...

...to rush here with his troop as soon as possible.

Noted.

Mr. Li. -It's you.

How dare you show up!

What's wrong, Mr. Bai? Have you found the physicians?

Mr. Li, it's certainly my recklessness...

...that led them to harm Mistress Li.

I'm guilty,...

...but the prince wants me to help you...

...and make up for the mistake.

I wonder how I could help you.

Feel free to issue an order.

How can I trust you?

I used to lead White Bat in Peddlers Gang.

The gang has assets all over Central Plain.

I have some power in the gang.

What can you do for me?

The gang is inept in martial arts,...

...but they're capable of gathering news.

We've just received an important clue.

Shen Tianshu of Disha is heading this way.

How many of them are coming here? -He is leading a troop,...

...but Gu Tianxian is following him with a bigger troop.

It seems they want to gather in Hanshui Town.

Fortunately, Yang Jin has gone to contact our spy.

Mr. Bai, in this case,...

...please come along and assist me.

Mr. Li, since I'm ordered...

...by the prince to help you as much as I can,...

...I'm at your service.

Search until we find the little girl...

...from 48 Stronghold. -Noted!

Here. Keep up.

Come with me. -Noted.

Take that way. -There.

The little girl from 48 Stronghold?

Are they looking for A'Fei?

Is A'Fei in this town, too?

Have you searched that corner?

Take a look here. -All right.

Uncle.

Come here.

Is there anything in front? -Disha is out there.

You're not a local, right? -I'm not.

You know what? The town is not safe at all lately.

You shouldn't wander around at night.

Search the place!

Come in, uncle.

Where are we?

I wonder why Disha has come to this town.

Disha?

Disha is a deadly foe of us, 48 Stronghold.

48 Stronghold.

You looked around the street alone.

What to do if they see and catch you?

It's all right. They dare not catch me.

They're devils known to the world of martial arts.

They would catch all and spare no one.

Do you fear them?

We, 48 Stronghold, is Disha's nemesis.

Disha has been powerful for years,...

...but my brother and cousin have killed the three of them.

There're just four of them left.

Why don't you dare to go out?

I.....

I'm outnumbered. We'll hide here.

I'll bring you to our hideout later.

We'll be safe there.

It's so dangerous back then. The map burnt on my hand...

...as soon as I opened it.

Who else was there?

Ying Hecong who produces poison,...

...the silly kid from Cloud Ravine...

...and that dumb girl from 48 Stronghold.

That girl cared a lot about the map.

Liu Youliang risked his life so that they could escape.

Could she be the little girl mentioned by Tong Tianyang?

Why does 48 Stronghold send you here alone?

You're so frightened.

It's different. What if I bump into Shen Tianshu?

You don't know how capable he is, do you?

All right. Tell me...

...how terrifying he is.

Shen Tianshu...

...is said to be invincible.

Not only he is powerful and merciless,...

...he is cruel. He is a great villain.

So, you must run...

...as soon as you run into him.

I'm so hungry. Try this.

This is the town's specialty.

Take it.

You're so old.

Isn't your family worried when you travel alone?

I have no family.

There's a war back then. All of them were killed.

I see. I'm sorry.

Aren't you sad over the years?

Family isn't the only...

...fun thing in the world.

Isn't it exciting to build an empire?

It's different.

To build an empire, you need to grab whatever you want.

Even if you own the whole world, it doesn't belong to you.

It's different from care and love.

Take my cousin and her lover for example.

My cousin doesn't have to say what she wants...

...and her lover will get it for her.

My cousin risks her life to treat her lover's illness.

I'm afraid only children like you would believe in this.

No.

Uncle, you don't, because you have yet to experience it.

I'm jealous.

Your cousin's lover might not believe it.

Are you born in a military family? -How can you tell?

I guessed so when you mentioned building an empire.

Why did you come to this town?

I was a soldier of Anping Army.

I came here...

...to meet an old comrade.

Anping Army.

It can't be. It's my uncle.

What is this song? It's nice.

Anping Anthem. -Anping Anthem?

Why do I seem to know it?

It's been more than two decades.

I've forgotten...

...many things that happened in the army.

I'm surprised that I have...

...vivid memory of this song.

Oh no. There's Disha nearby.

What if they come here hearing the song?

They won't.

Let's go. Come on.

All right.

I'll send you to our hideout.

It's safer there.

Hold it there. Where are you going at night?

Gentlemen.

My grandfather and I are rushing to the morning market.

Do you want to go, too?

Yes.

What a coincidence. We'll go first.

What is going on?

How are you feeling? Do you feel any better?

Much better.

I've just received news from Peddlers Gang.

They said they found traces of Lianshen.

It seems that she is heading towards Hanshui Town.

A'Fei, you might be the first person...

...who can stand up so energetically...

...after being poisoned by Lianshen.

However, I have bad news.

Shen Tianshu has arrived at Hanshui Town.

So soon?

No way. I'm afraid it'll be harder...

...if we can't kill Lianshen...

...before they meet.

A'Fei.

It's too dangerous to act alone now.

Why don't we go back...

...meet with everyone else at 48 Stronghold?

They left after we did.

I'm afraid it'll be too late if we wait until we gather.

Why don't we go after Lianshen? Try to stop her on her way.

Even if we can't, we can slow her down.

Then, we'll wait for my cousin to show up.

Yes, your words make sense, too.

I know you're worried about me.

Lianshen is inept in martial arts,...

...but her tricks are unpredictable.

So long as I am more careful...

...in dodging her poisonous weapons and tricks,...

...I might be able to defeat her.

Don't worry too much about her poison.

Don't you have me, your soft armour?

You have an indestructible saber...

...while I have a shield immune to poisons.

We should take the opportunity to teach her a lesson...

...after she poisoned me with Piercing Green.

All right. When we see her again,...

...we should not talk. Instead, we will kill her.

Sure.

Xie Yun, what will you do...

...if I die...

...one day?

Is there such a good deal? For sure...

...I will enjoy food, drink and have even your share of fun.

Live joyfully until I die.

It's a loss for us otherwise.

Heartless man.

A'Fei.

I'm merely a mortal...

...who's afraid of death,...

...but after going through so much with you,...

...I'm getting proficient in sacrificing for your sake.

I've gained courage, too.

Really? Show me your guts.

Show it. -I'll show you later.

Uncle Li!

My goodness, why haven't you left?

Don't bring it up. I was almost captured by Disha.

Thank God I was witty. By the way, I've even saved an old man.

Look.

What is wrong with you?

I'm so thirsty after hiding for a day.

It's safe here.

It's safe once we enter Uncle Li's shop.

He fought Shen Tianshu at the frontline before.

Did he? -Yes.

By the way, uncle. Didn't you say...

...that you came to seek your old comrade? Who is he?

He is Liu Youliang.

You're Shen Tianshu, Gray Wolf!

Girl.

It would be great if you didn't realise.

Run, girl!

Where do you think you're going, little girl?

I obtained the objects only after poisoning Li Jinrong.

48 Stronghold will arrive soon.

Let's leave.

There is no hurry. Gu Tianxian is on his way here.

We'll leave after we're done questioning.

Mr. Li and Mr. Yang, we monitored him along the way,...

...but he's too powerful. I've even lost a member,...

...yet we failed to stay close. -Thank you for the effort.

Do you have something else to say, Mr. Bai?

I'm worried that Yu Wenzhi's private troop might.....

Yu Wenzhi? -Yes.

It's him again.

I have a member who grooms Yu Wenzhi's horses.

He tipped me off not long ago.

Yu Wenzhi incited Lianshen to carry out the assassination.

Yu Wenzhi even spoke to Shen Tianshu in person.

To his surprise, Shen Tianshu...

...used Lianshen's life as a bargaining chip.

They almost had a falling-out.

If so, Lianshen colluded with Yu Wenzhi...

...in stealing the objects. Shen Tianshu wasn't aware of it.

That's right. All in all,...

...Shen Tianshu and Yu Wenzhi are unhappy with each other.

He almost refused to save Lianshen in person.

Anyway, I haven't received...

...news from my member.

If Yu Wenzhi's private troop is also involved in the action,...

...it might be hard for us to fight them.

I can't wait to see him getting involved.

I'll be glad if he's here.

Since this is his plan,...

...he certainly will stop Shen from obtaining the objects.

Isn't it a good chance for us...

...once they fight against each other?
