Legend of Fei

Episode 43

Try it.

Mistress Li has brought Li Zheng's training notes.

I plan to compile it and give Poxue Skills to her.

Poxue Skills? Do you want to learn it?

Not me.

Mistress Li said it could be passed to others.

Everyone may learn it.

My aunt is acting weird lately.

She seems to have left everything to us at once.

I feel a bit uneasy.

We've grown up. We should take over her burden...

...and let her take a good rest.

I heard that Zhou Fei is dealing with the third prince.

You can relax for the time being.

We can't afford to make any mistake in this situation.

Tell them to stay alert. -Noted.

By the way, the information of Disha.....

Yes? -We heard from our spy.

Yu Wenzhi visited Disha Manor.

Others were outside except Shen Tianshu.

Yu Wenzhi?

Why did he visit Disha Manor out of the blue?

Could they have learnt about Ocean Sky?

Mistress Li, you're unwell. Why don't you take a rest?

We can figure it out later.

All right.

Commander, we had been hunting for Zhou Yitang.

He doesn't seem to be travelling to 48 Stronghold.

That's a sure thing.

He would've been intercepted by you...

...if he took the expected route.

He'd make a detour...

...and proceed to 48 Stronghold...

...after getting rid of you.

Should I recall our men?

Get them to search along routes around 48 Stronghold.

We shouldn't stop pushing Zhou Yitang...

...and delay his journey back to the stronghold...

...even if we can't catch him.

If he can return to the stronghold...

...before we obtain Ocean Sky,...

...forget about Lianshen's mission being disrupted,...

...we can't frame Chen Zichen!

Mistress Li.

Shen Tianshu!

Hand the things to me.

Come out, Shen Tianshu!

Stop fooling around! Come out and fight me!

Don't forget...

...that I was the one...

...who killed your father and brother.

Do you think you can beat me?

Mistress Li.

If you don't hand them to me, I'll kill all your people...

...one after another.

Come out.

Li Jinrong, do you want everyone in the stronghold...

...to die with you?

Yitang?

Yitang? This can't be!

Jinrong. -Yitang!

Listen to me. -No!

Keep the objects.

You mustn't show them to the public.

Yitang! No!

No!

What happened, Mistress Li?

I had a bad dream.

It's a dream.

I'm fine.

What is it? Say it.

Our spy caught a sneaky scout at the foot of the mountain.

He claimed that he came.....

Yes?

He came to catch Master Gan Tang.

Master Gan Tang went missing after they tried...

...to assassinate him. He has yet to be found.

Bring him here. -Noted.

Why did you inform Disha? -We lacked manpower.

When did I tell you to inform Disha?

You told us to approach Lord Shen when we couldn't kill Zhou Yitang.

That's because you failed to catch him!

That's why I'm at Shen Tianshu's disposal!

He gave me his attitude even when he is merely a guard!

Yes. I'm useless. I.....

Do you know a subordinate should die for his master's insult?

I'm sorry. Please give a clear instruction.

Zhou Yitang! I am targeting Zhou Yitang, understand?

Yes.

Get out! -Noted.

Kneel!

Commander and Lord Shen...

...want to catch Master Gan Tang alive on his way to 48 Stronghold.

They want to catch him alive? -Yes.

They want to seize him.

Assassinate him if we couldn't. However, we failed.

He escaped. So we had been hunting him down.

When was the order given? Who is the mastermind?

I don't know.

I only know that Commander and Lord Shen met a few days ago.

Mistress Li, I've told you everything that I know.

No one told me about it.

Bring him away and watch him closely!

Yes. Bring him away! -Mistress!

Noted. -I've told you, Mistress Li!

Mistress Li! I've told you everything!

I've truly everything!

Mistress Li!

Disha must have learnt of Ocean Sky.

Their motive is clear. They want to threaten me with Yitang.

Although they have yet to call for an assembly,...

...they'll soon act against us.

Mistress Li.

Mistress Li, I came to deliver the manuscript.

Mistress Li! -Mistress Li.

Mistress Li! -Let Chuchu in.

Come in!

Mistress Li!

What happened to you?

Let me check.

What is wrong, Your Highness?

Your Highness.

Let's leave since I failed to propose a marriage.

Your Highness, you came in the name...

...of celebrating Mistress Li's birthday.

We should leave only after the feast tomorrow...

...so that we can explain to the Emperor.

Lady Zhou is dating Brother Xie.

I should give them my blessing, right?

Your Highness.

You came personally, but they...

...took you as a weakling and neglected you.

Since you've been rejected,...

...there is no need to join the feast to honour them.

Madam, it's just my wishful thinking.

Don't mention it anymore.

Why does the prince have a fever?

He could've neglected his health these days.

So his illness has relapsed.

I'm fine.

Your Highness, are you all right?

Madam.....

Your Highness, you will be upset if you stay.

You should leave soon after taking a rest.

Let's leave, Your Highness.

"Bide the time"

Your heart meridian was injured. You didn't regulate it on time.

It's become a root cause.

However, there is no better way to treat the injury...

...except having a good rest.

I have limited medical knowledge.

Shall I look for a physician for you?

No. Don't make it public.

Lady, Mistress Li has been keeping it a secret.

Except a female physician,...

...not even Zhou Fei and Mr. Li know this.

Please keep it a secret.

As you say,...

...all I can do is taking a good rest.

It can't be cured within a year.

Telling them will just make them worried.

However, we're talking about your health.

It will deteriorate if you delay the treatment.

Chuchu, go to Physician Luo and get the same prescription.

I know why you're doing this.

Rest assured that I'll keep the secret for you.

I'll collect the medicine.

How is it, Mistress?

The third prince will probably leave tonight.

We should take action tonight. -Noted.

Do you want to kill Shen Tianshu? -Yes.

Mistress Li, you shouldn't act recklessly...

...as you haven't recovered.

Shen Tianshu is cruel and cunning.

If you fail to kill him.....

If I care about myself, isn't it more dangerous if Disha comes...

...but A'Fei and Sheng'er are no match for them?

There must be a fight between me and Shen Tianshu.

It's better to strike first.

Since you insist on going, I'll tag along.

No. I'm afraid I won't be able to come back.

I'm Xie Yun. I request to meet Mistress Li.

Please enter.

Mistress Li.

Why are you here?

I came to ask about Ocean Sky.

I wonder what you plan to do with all five objects.

I told you to stay out of it.

Since all five objects are here,...

...why don't we destroy all clues of Ocean Sky to end all trouble?

This is my stronghold.

You're in no place to tell me what to do.

Ocean Sky is no doubt important. Many top martial artists...

...sacrificed their lives to protect it, including...

...my family's two generations.

It can't be simply destroyed.

I'm sorry.

You're dragged into this due to the previous dynasty.

To be honest,...

...my days are numbered.

There is no point...

...to keep these objects.

The rumour of Ocean Sky brings only disasters.

I don't want you nor the stronghold to be sacrificed.

A'Fei is always practising in the middle of the river.

I guess...

...she's doing it for just in case.

She tries so hard.

I feel sorry for her.

Mistress Li.

It's caused by my grandfather.

He has brought a reign of terror to the world of martial arts.

I don't want to get A'Fei involved.

Everything...

...will end after I die.

It won't involve others anymore.

Mr. Xie.

I'm not in place to ruin the effort of our ancestors.

You can neither dictate where it should go.

It doesn't matter what Ocean Sky really is,...

...but it's certainly important to the people in the world.

If so,...

...I have no reason to persuade you.

I know what you're saying,...

...but to me, a dying person, neither...

...the so-called righteousness...

...nor responsibilities...

...can compare to A'Fei's safety and happiness.

There is nothing much that I can offer her.

I just want to clear the hidden threat in her path.

Mr. Xie.

I can't decide for her. Neither can you.

Let her make the choice.

Whether she chooses to take up the duty...

...or to be safe and happy,...

...I respect her choice.

Thank you for saying so.

The trouble you're bringing her...

...is not merely the dispute between the two dynasties.

There's also the complicated things behind all this.

I tried to persuade her.

"Is it worth it to suffer for a lifetime...

...for a brief moment of happiness?"

She said...

...it's worth it as long as it's for you.

Don't worry.

Although my days are numbered,...

...I'll stay by her side as long as I'm still alive.

There's even a way to ease the poison in Yu Lao.

Is there really no way to clear the poison in you?

Although Piercing Green in me was sealed,...

...I released it using Soul-Seeking Needle.

Now the poison...

...has blended in my meridians.

Is it Soul-Seeking Needle from outside the border?

Why did you have it?

Northern Saber Mr. Ji used it to kill Azure Dragon Lord.

I picked up the rest.

I'm sure you know...

...that the needle can force one's energy, but the user...

...will die after 45 minutes.

Thanks to the freezing Piercing Green,...

...I could last out a little longer.

It's a miracle for me to live on the herbs gathered by A'Fei.

Sooner or later,...

...I'll die.

Soul-Seeking Needle.

I only read it in a book.

I have never seen it with my own eyes.

Do you still have it?

I'm quite interested in this. Can I study it?

Junior.

A'Dan.

We'll depart at once. Pick some helpful disciples.

Come to me after you're done packing up.

Time is running out. They're hunting down Yitang.

They can come to us anytime.

Moreover, now I stand a higher chance.

Noted.

How do you know that my mother loves wonton with carrot filling?

I'm persuasive. Not only I found about your mother's favourite,...

...I can learn of every gossip and secret in the stronghold.

You bully the honest people here.

Didn't you wonder what to give to your mother on her birthday?

Not only I needed to give you an idea,...

...I needed to ask around and teach you.

It took great effort.

Why is there no compliment from Lady Zhou?

You're right.

Mr. Xie.

You're virtuous.

I'm afraid you can't learn by tomorrow.

Shall I wrap it for you? You'll cook it.

Sure.

No. I should do it for my mother.

I can prepare a few pots of wonton just in case.

Fine, but your mother can definitely tell...

...that you make this pot of wonton.

Look at this.

Isn't this a dumpling?

It doesn't look like that. -Don't wrap it like this.

You should do this. -It's easier said than done.

Yours is no better.

Isn't it well-wrapped?

You're no better. Look at this.

"I'm relieved to see this, A'Fei.

I wish you could enjoy more moments of peace...

...before facing the difficulties.

I bumped into Sister Dan when I came out.

She said you met my mother.

She seemed to be in a hurry. So I didn't ask further.

Why did you meet my mother?

You know...

...she dislikes you.

She said it's worth it as long as it's for you.

I met her to talk about our plan in the future.

The water is boiling. I'll cook this.

By the way, your mother asked about Piercing Green.

She said she wanted to study Soul-Seeking Needle.

Soul-Seeking Needle?

Why did she ask for that? -I wouldn't dare to ask.

It's the first time she asked me for something.

So I gave all to her.

All?

Are you dumb?

Is the needle something good? Why did you just give it?

I.....

I need to ask her later.

Not bad.

Yes.

I've figured out what to give your mother.

What is it? -I'll draw a longevity painting.

What do you think?

Not bad.

You're ingenious.

Only you can think of something corny like that.

Everyone can tell that is from you.

That's a sure thing.

My painting is very valuable.

I need to paint it by today so that I can give it tomorrow.

Yes. You will need some time.

Go ahead.

Can you handle this without me?

Yes. Go.

All right. I'll wait for you at Jiangxin Pavilion.

Go.

I'm sure I can make it.

Sheng'er.

Aunt.

Why are you here?

Can you cope with the affairs...

...of the stronghold?

Aunt, you stay in Reflection Chamber these days.

Everyone is worried about you when they can't see you.

Skip this.

How have you been handling the affairs?

Are you clear with staff, elites, forage and stronghold passes?

Aunt, I know basically everything.

Basically? If you aren't clear about the passes...

...and defence at the stronghold,...

...what should you do if Disha comes to the stronghold?

All right. -Recite all that you've learnt...

...to me now.

We have 1,000 picul of forage.

We have more than 15,000 staff at every stronghold.

I've plotted...

...the defence here.

I've added staff to every pass.

Mr. Xie. -Mr. Bai.

Mr. Xie, the prince will leave tonight.

I'm assigned to inform you.

Do you want to leave so soon?

The prince failed in his proposal.

So he thought of going back to Jiankang to report to the Emperor.

Is Zichen well?

Shall I see him off?

The prince said he didn't want to disturb anyone. It's all right.

The prince is depressed...

...and he feels sorry to you.

The physician suggested for him to leave...

...and recuperate. Therefore,...

...the prince wrote you a letter.

Mr. Xie, I'll make a move first.

"Godbrother, everyone is disturbed by my sudden visit.

I came abruptly to propose a marriage.

Now I know it's unrequited love...

...and I know you have a crush on her.

I even find it unbelievable.

I won't disturb Lady Zhou anymore. I will leave as soon as possible.

I wish you can...

...stay together.

Since you love each other,...

...I'm happy for you.

Don't worry about me."

Sheng'er, you need to know...

...whom that you can rely on, forces that you can join...

...and affairs that you need to beware of.

That's good.

I can heave a sigh of relief then.

Aunt, isn't this the main seal of the stronghold?

It's yours from now on.

I'm old. I'm not as strong as before.

I can't manage this forever.

I should let the young people learn to take up the duty.

What are you saying, aunt?

You're just in your thirties. You aren't old.

I'll return it.

Sheng'er, the stronghold...

...is built by both your grandfather and father.

We'll count on you from now on.

Mistress Li.

Why isn't it cooked yet?

Physician Luo.

It's urgent. -What is it, Ms. Chuchu?

What is the hurry?

You've been treating Mistress Li all the while.

You know the best. So I came to you.

What happened to Mistress Li?

Her heart meridian was severely injured...

...and now her old disease relapses.

She even coughed blood.

It's bad. Thank you, Ms. Chuchu, I'll go.....

Let me finish first.

Mistress Li said we shouldn't make it public.

You don't need to see her. Prepare the same prescription.

I'll send it to her in secret.

"My mother is ill?

Why is she injured?

Why does she want to keep it from everyone else...

...if it's so serious?

There's also Soul-Seeking Needle.

Why are you here? Where is my mother?

She isn't here...

...and Reflection Chamber is locked.

It's weird.

She gave her seal to me today.

This is bad. Something bad is going to happen.

What is it? -My mother is injured.

It's serious, but she keeps it from us.

She even asked Xie Yun for Soul-Seeking Needles,...

...claiming that she'd study them.

This isn't right. Even if Aunt is injured,...

...very few in the world of martial arts can beat her.

Who does she want to fight in such a way?

Disha. -Disha.

I alone can intrude Disha Manor.

You just need to help me on the way.

I hope you can come back safely. -Noted.

Let's go.

Mother!

A'Fei and Sheng'er?

Why are you here?

You're injured. Where do you want to go at this hour?

A mild injury won't hurt.

I need to attend to an emergency at the foot of the mountain.

It is your birthday tomorrow.

What is it so important that you need to make a trip personally?

You locked Reflection Chamber. -It's my own matter.

Stop asking.

Why do you need Soul-Seeking Needle?

I need to use it. Don't bother.

Move over. -Mother.

Aunt. -Mother, is it for Ocean Sky?

Are you going to Disha Manor?

Aunt, you're the head of the stronghold.

What should others do if you leave?

If you're worried about the invasion of Disha,...

...we should work together at this time.

Let's think of another way.

If you insist on going, bring us along.

What are you saying, A'Fei?

We brought back the objects. We're responsible for them.

I repeat. No one should meddle in.

Move over! -No!

Mother, you made a risky decision.

Get through us if you insist on going.

Do you think you're all grown up and can stop me now?

Fine. I'll see whether you're capable of stopping me!

Show mercy, Mistress Li!

Give in, A'Fei.

No!

I'll stop if you give in.

I won't give in!

You lost.

Mother, your sword.

You practised very well.

You're all grown up.

You can take charge.

Well done.

Is she angry?

Why does it seem to me...

...that she is quite pleased?

"To Zhou Fei"

"Poxue Skills"

"May you enjoy longevity."

Get up. What happened to you?

What happened to you?

This is bad. The third prince's gifts for Mistress Li are gone.

What? I'll inform Mistress Li. Search properly.

Let's go. -All right.

What do you want? Mistress Li is unwell and resting.

Mountain River Jade in Elder Hall is gone. There's a thief.

How is it possible?

We haven't lost anything over a decade. Are you mistaken?

We searched Elder Hall to no avail.

We're waiting for Mistress Li's instruction. Let me in.

Why is it so noisy?

Mistress Li.

Why would the disciples who were on duty fall asleep?

I don't know, but there is something unusual.

Let's take a look.

Yes, Mistress Li?

A'Dan. -Yes.

Go with him. Seal the gate. No one must enter nor leave.

I'll be right there. -Noted.

Noted.

Who is it?

Mistress Li.

I heard you're feeling unwell today.

Who are you?

I'm the third prince's physician.

The prince heard about your illness.

I'm sent here to deliver medicine.

Remove your veil. -I caught a cold lately.

I might get you infected...

...if I remove the veil.

Come here. -Noted.

It's you.

We meet again, Mistress Li.

I have yet to take revenge on you for poisoning my father.

How dare you come to 48 Stronghold!

Your father?

Everyone in your family is really annoying.

How dare you challenge me!

I know you have internal injury.

You can't hold on any longer if you fight like this.

It's more than enough to kill you!

You're buying time.

Yes. The candle is drugged.

You've realised it,...

...but it's too late.

Mistress Li, the medicine is ready!

Who are you?

Mistress Li!

"Reflection Chamber"

"May you enjoy longevity"

Mistress Li.

A'Fei.

What happened to my mother? -Your mother is poisoned.
