Legend of Fei

Episode 42

Father.

Master Li!

Father.

"Yitang stole the commander's seal to lead the army...

...and save 48 Strongholds.

We're in danger again.

I must not let the young ones...

...go through the same thing.

Master Gan Tang.

You're here just in time. I was looking for you.

I've organised all military affairs.

It's Jinrong's birthday in a few days.

I want to head back tomorrow.

What a coincidence, look.

A letter from 48 Stronghold.

A'Fei and the rest have returned.

They've gathered all Ocean Sky's objects.

Go home, I'll prepare the horses.

All right, I'll travel light. I'll leave at nightfall.

"General Wen knows me very well.

I, Zhou Yitang,...

...stole the commander's seal to lead the army without permission!

I've violated the military rules of conduct.

I've let General Wang down!

I've let Anping Army down!

I am guilty!

Yitang!

What have you done?

Mr. Stingy.

You no longer have to worry...

...about buying me drinks.

I've crippled my martial arts.

Wen Yu,...

Anping Army...

...is counting on you.

Ambush! Protect Master Gan Tang!

We're tricked! Leave! -Don't go after them!

It's as expected by Master Gan Tang.

The assassins indeed made their move tonight.

It's 48 Stronghold' border ahead.

If they don't take action, they'll miss the chance.

Did you find anything?

This weapon's edge shows it's from the current dynasty.

The art of deception in military strategy.

We used a trick. They might use one, too.

What do you mean, Master Gan Tang?

They were meticulous...

...and didn't leave much clue behind.

I am not sure who did it,...

...but...

...I'm afraid something bad will happen.

It has been only two years after the ceasefire.

The people cannot afford to suffer anymore.

It's 48 Stronghold border ahead.

I'll travel all night to get home soon.

There won't be any trouble after that.

General Wen, return with Anping Token and assume duty.

Remember, no matter what rumour you hear,...

...don't take any rash action.

No, you must not do this.

Master Gan Tang, if I leave...

...you alone here, I fear.....

There's nothing for me to fear.

My own safety...

...is nothing compared...

...to the hundreds of thousands of lives in this border.

This is an order.

General Wen, accept your order.

I...

...accept.

Good. This motion is perfect.

I think you're really elegant and graceful.

What a sweet talker.

Drink some wine to warm yourself.

Here.

Your craftsmanship is getting better.

You made so many lanterns. Are you going to sell them?

No, we're going to release them later.

Why don't you pick one?

That one. -I've spent a long time...

...on this drawing.

Look at the details of this mountain.

This is water. This is the pavilion.

Look, we're here, too.

Are we going to release only one lantern?

Then, I'll choose one.

Which one will you choose?

This one.

Back then, I heard...

...Kongming Lantern would fly to the highest heaven.

Do you want to make a wish?

Sure.

"A'Fei,...

...I wish you can live a long and happy life...

...with freedom in the martial arts world."

What did you wish for?

I'm not telling you.

Zhou Yitang was cunning.

Wen Yu is also a skilled soldier who was with Wang Lin.

I never expected a trash like you...

...to kill Zhou Yitang.

He may be weak,...

...but his meticulous mind is hard to beat.

We can only kill him...

...with Shen Tianshu's help.

I was only teaching him a lesson this time.

They should not mess with us.

Shen Tianshu fails to have a breakthrough...

...in his martial arts skills over the years.

It turns out he has his own demons to deal with, too.

I'll definitely find a way to make him agree.

Tell Lianshen to make her move tonight.

What kind of illness is this?

His pulse is weird and I've never seen anything like it.

I'm here to treat the third prince.

What's your name?

You practise Peddlers Gang's martial arts...

...through Penetrating Vessel.

The flow of Qi along Penetrating Vessel is irregular.

When you train hastily, you have abdominal pain.

The weakness of your martial arts lies in this irregular Qi.

Am I right?

You're indeed incredible.

This way, please, physician.

The prince throws up occasionally.

His digestive organs don't function well...

...due to irregular flow of Qi.

Nonsense!

He obviously can't digest food.

That's why he throws up whatever he eats.

He just needs Cooling Pill.

The prince is lovesick.

Absurd! -A bunch of nonsense!

He just needs Cooling Pill. -Correct.

His digestive system is not working well. It's not lovesick.

Impossible. This is nonsense.

His pulse.....

What is she doing? -She's reckless.

She's really writing it down. -What is she writing?

Is she serious?

Isn't she simply prescribing?

Follow this prescription and add the herbs to the incense burner.

I'm certain the prince will regain consciousness.

However, to cure the root of this sickness,...

...I fear it won't be that easy.

Mistress, did it go well?

These quacks tried to cure my Drowning Sorrow Poison.

They're foolish.

Physician, please stop.

Physician, the moment your herbs were added to the burner,...

...the third prince woke up.

You're really brilliant. -I'm flattered.

I'm only suppressing...

...the prince's illness temporarily.

If he wants to fully recover,...

...I fear we need to find the solution to his illness.

Please advise. This way, please.

Commander, allow me to announce your arrival.

Nevermind, leave me alone. I'll just wait.

Commander, sorry to make you wait.

Master Shen invites you to enter.

Master Shen, the Commander is here.

So, this is where you seclude yourself.

It's really free and easy.

I don't think you're willing to see me...

...because I've waited the whole day, right?

I heard...

...the assassins you sent to kill Zhou Yitang have failed.

Without you, of course they'd fail.

You wouldn't just give up.

You must have another plan.

You know me well.

I've sent someone to infiltrate 48 Stronghold.

We must obtain Ocean Sky.

It's best to kill Li Jinrong...

...when the third prince is there.

You can only take advantage of a crisis for personal gain.

Kill two birds with one stone.

You're pretty greedy.

Aren't you curious...

...about who I've assigned?

Aren't you worried about her safety?

She's risking her life for your sake.

You're the best when it comes to making use of talent.

If you want me to kill Li Jinrong,...

...it might cause a violent battle.

We won't necessarily get what we want.

However, everything has a weakness.

If Lianshen managed to poison Li Zheng,...

...she can definitely poison Li Jinrong.

I don't have to worry at all.

Since you're not worried about her...

...and you're still willing to see me,...

...did I move you with my sincerity?

During your last visit,...

...you wanted me to kill Zhou Yitang.

You didn't give me a good reason.

That's why I refused to do so.

Now you're telling me Lianshen left for 48 Stronghold.

I know her more than anyone else.

All these years,...

...she only likes to stay indoor to take care of her plants.

If it's not because of Ocean Sky,...

...even I wouldn't be able to tell her what to do.

Commander,...

...what exactly did you promise her?

It's better for you not to know.

Looks like I won't be able to get anything today.

I'm leaving.

She's going there for you, Master Shen.

Your men suffered defeat again and again.

So I told Tianying I was going to withdraw...

...all the resources I'd provided for Disha.

She went for the sake of your reputation in Disha.

You must treasure...

...such a good woman.

I knew it.

Looks like you don't have anything...

...that interests me anymore.

Are you really going to sit back and do nothing?

Commander, I'm no longer...

...a high-spirited young man...

...who would step up to help anyone in trouble.

Lianshen is carrying the task assigned by you.

You want me to save her?

You should at least offers me something that attracts me.

How much money do you want this time?

Not a single penny.

If someone who is powerful...

...lives such a pathetic life,...

...he's either frugal...

...or...

...he's just determined.

What exactly do you want?

Send your troops to help me to obtain Ocean Sky.

Of course, we had a deal...

...to work together to obtain Ocean Sky.

Yes, but that was before.

Now you're asking me to kill.

You have to give me more.

Once we find Ocean Sky,...

...don't touch...

...anything there.

Halt!

Your Highness, we've travelled far.

Why don't we rest for a while? -All right.

Mr. Bai, when will we reach our destination?

Be patient, we'll be there soon.

You're all grown up. Now you're going to propose a marriage.

I hope everything goes smoothly and you'll get what you want.

However, I don't think Ms. Zhou is just my godbrother's friend.

How should I propose to her? -Marriage...

...is arranged by parents with advice from a matchmaker.

You only have to convey your wish.

If Mr. Xie feels the same way,...

...he has his own ways of doing it.

This doesn't mean you're stealing her from him.

Before we left,...

...most people in the palace knew you're here to propose to her.

If you fail,...

...I'm afraid you'll be the laughing stock.

You won't know if you don't try.

Just take it as finding an answer.

No matter what, you must solve the root of this illness.

She's right.

This is also for the sake of your health.

All right, let's continue our journey.

Yes.

"Badge"

"Without me,...

...A'Fei's life...

...would've remained worry-free.

Mistress Li, we have a visitor.

Didn't I tell A'Sheng to turn down all visitors?

He couldn't do it this time. -Who is it?

It's the third prince.

Halt!

I've finally seen the vast land of Hunan.

It wasn't easy to climb up. We could hardly move.

Luckily you sent help. We managed to arrive safely.

I've heard that you value talented people.

You've really made a lot of effort for this proposal.

Of course. 48 Stronghold is the land of heroes.

If I don't show any sincerity, how will all of you accept me?

Good.

48 Stronghold relies neither the south or the north.

We have our own rules.

I apologise if we have offended you in any way.

Well said, Mr. Li.

I mean, Master Li.

With a cousin like you, it's no wonder that Ms. Zhou...

...is also a heroic and outstanding woman.

Ms. Zhou?

Aren't you proposing to.....

Do you want to marry Zhou Fei?

Why do you want to marry her? Do you want her for protection?

Physician, are you all right? -I'm all right.

We've been walking the whole day. It's time for her to rest.

Why don't I take you to the guest rooms for a rest?

Mr. Li, I should accompany the prince...

...to greet Mistress Li.

It's our honour. I apologise for not going out to meet you.

Thank you, Mistress Li. This is my first cup of tea today.

I apologise if the treatment isn't adequate.

May I know what brings you here?

I was saved by Ms. Zhou for a few times.

When I heard your birthday was approaching,...

...I specially brought a gift to express my gratitude.

This is Mountain River Jade, which I treasure.

Under the candle light, the jade looks like river and mountain.

Accept it.

I heard martial artists don't care about petty things.

You indeed possess the manners of an outstanding heroine.

I'll accept this jade.

As for these, you can take them back.

These are.....

Mistress Li, these are...

...the betrothal gifts for Ms. Zhou Fei.

Did your father tell you to come?

The prince likes Ms. Zhou.

He came here with the Emperor's approval.

Cousin! Something bad has happened!

Zhou Fei, the third prince...

...brought a lot of things here to ask for your hand in marriage.

What? The third prince?

He wants to marry me?

Where's Xie Yun? Does he know his godbrother is here?

I didn't see him anywhere. Do you want me to look for him?

Tell him that the third prince wants to marry me.

See how he responds to it.

Xie Yun, something big has happened. Why are you still here?

I'd looked for you everywhere! -What happened?

Do you know your godbrother, the third prince,...

...is now at Elder Hall?

Zichen is here? That's great.

No, it's not! He's here to ask for A'Fei's hand in marriage!

You've met A'Fei? -Yes, we've met,...

...but we only met by chance. So we're not close.

You came to propose when you only met by chance.

Your Highness, you're indeed passionate.

It may be a chance encounter for her,...

...but it's unforgettable for me even after a glance.

Your Highness, this doesn't work here.

Zhou Fei is all grown up. I can't decide for her.

You should tell her yourself.

I wonder if you're interested in any of these.

Xie Yun?

I heard you're here. That's great.

What are you doing here? -I.....

I want to have Ms. Zhou as my consort.

My father has approved it.

Xie Yun, what do you think?

Are all of these for me?

Ms. Zhou, all of these betrothal gifts...

...were prepared by the prince. Do you like them?

Ms. Zhou...

...wouldn't like these, right?

This saber is not bad.

Ms. Zhou, you have good taste.

It's said Kunwu Mountain is 100 km west from Yi River.

The mountain is filled with copper as red as fire.

Using it to forge a blade, it cuts jade like cutting mud.

It's the famous ancient saber of Kunwu.

Are you also interested in this saber, too, Mr. Xie?

No, I was...

...just taking a look.

I'm sorry, I should have told you earlier.

After all, you're Ms. Zhou's best friend.

If you don't approve...

...of us being together, I'll.....

Zichen. -I thought you wanted to marry me.

Why are you asking for his opinion?

Let's just discuss this between us. Come with me.

Wait! -Don't follow us.

Are you tired? Then, don't force yourself.

I'm not tired. For you,...

...even reaching for star would not be difficult.

We've only met for a few times.

How could you like me that much?

We live in different environments since young.

I had to watch my words and actions since young...

...while you live without any restraint.

You're the most special among the maidens I've met.

So..... -You're indeed devoted,...

...but I've set a rule for myself since young.

My future husband must be stronger than me.

Are you willing to have a duel? -I.....

I've seen how skilled you are in martial arts.

Aren't you deliberately making it difficult for me?

Forget it then. Leave while it's still early.

No. In that case,...

...forgive me for my rudeness.

A'Fei is really incredible.

This is subduing the enemy without fighting.

Yang Jin, watch and learn.

What? This move is completely useless.

Indeed, it's useless for idiots.

Nice move.

Are you all right? -You're good.

Is there a misunderstanding between us?

It may be hard but I have to try.

It's my way of showing my sincerity.

You're talking about sincerity here?

You're overestimating yourself.

48 Stronghold houses loyal and righteous people.

I've never looked down on you guys.

Fine. How about this?

I've seen all the betrothal gifts.

I'm not happy with them.

I want the wild flower in the crevice...

...in the rock in the middle of Ximo River.

If you can pick that, I'll marry you.

If you fail,...

...just return. What do you think?

All right, it's a deal.

The River's Qian Ji Formation is still opened.

Qian Ji Formation? What's that?

What's this? -Qian Ji Formation.

It's fast as wind and sharp as a blade. It's to prevent thieves.

With this formation, no one can pick the flowers.

I first met Ms. Zhou...

...right at Ximo River.

At the time, I thought she's a spirit of the river.

Your Highness, do you want to try? -I.....

He's my godbrother. I'll talk to him.

Do you think you're still kids? Enough of the eavesdropping!

In this world, I guess you're the only one who can do it.

Xie Yun, you...

...and Ms. Zhou.....

Did I do anything wrong?

Zichen, did your father really allow you to come?

Did he personally tell you to come?

I wanted to come.

He didn't agree at first. We even quarrelled.

Zichen, you kept saying you're not as good as me.

However, I can't propose to the girl I love,...

...just like what you did.

If you really love her, why won't you tell her?

I'm dying. Even if I tell her,...

...it'll be the same.

It's pretty good now.

I'm contented to be with her every day.

I even don't mind marrying into 48 Stronghold.

Too bad my health.....

Wait a minute. You're of a royal bloodline. You can't.....

It's nothing.

I should have died in the battlefield many years ago.

For these extra days, I take it as a blessing from heaven.

Of course I need to live how I like.

I want to live here,...

...be a teacher...

...and collect rental.

This kind of life is enough.

Take it as a diplomatic marriage. What do you think?

Xie Yun, have you really made up your mind?

Yes, the fiercer A'Fei is, the better.

That way, no one will dare to marry her except me.

A'Fei?

Your Highness, do you get it now?

I won't see you off.

I.....

A'Fei, you heard everything?

Am I fierce? -Not really.

Not really? -No,...

...I mean you're not fierce.

Zichen is still young. I hope you won't mind.

I don't care what he said,...

...but I heard someone saying...

...he wanted to marry into 48 Stronghold.

A'Fei, you know...

...I'm a jinx and dying soon.

A jinx? Says who? I never dislike you for that.

Who are you to dislike yourself?

Ms. Zhou,...

...I have been unlucky with few people who love me since young.

I have nothing but an empty title.

I have no treasure and I'm dying.

As for betrothal gift,...

...I only have this flower.

If you don't mind that,...

...please allow me to marry into your family.

With the mother nature as our witness,...

...we shall share honour and disgrace.

Till death do us part.

What say you?

I accept it.

Till death do us part.

The move you showed at the training field was really nice.

Let's go for a duel. -Yang Jin, I'm busy.

Just this once. -Next time.

It's my favourite crispy sweet winter dates. Thank you!

How's the progress of what I asked you to do?

Don't worry, it'll definitely surprise A'Fei.

It'll make her forget all about martial arts training.

Oh, there's a kind of wine that A'Fei likes...

...in Hanshui Town.

Can you buy a jar for me?

Hanshui Town?

With the best clay figurines? -That's right.

Looks like you're pretty familiar with that place.

Your business is my business.

Don't worry, you can count on me. -Thanks.

Yang Jin, go down the mountain with me. Let's go.

Dude, your move at the training field was awesome.

Not really, yours was better. -No...

When will Yang Jin learn to be more playful like Xie Yun?

Let's go for a duel.

I'll go by myself.

Life in the stronghold has been hectic in the past few days.

We must tell our comrades to strengthen our defence.

Moreover, it's Mistress Li's birthday celebration tomorrow.

The patrol outside the mountain must be careful, understand?

Yes.

A'Sheng.

Chuchu?
