Legend of Fei

Episode 39

A'Fei, what...

...do you plan to do next?

I mean wait until I..... -I don't know.

I.....

Maybe...

...it depends on my father's next instruction.

I'll go back...

...to 48 Strongholds otherwise...

...to practise with my blade.

Alternatively, I'll work...

...for 48 Strongholds.

Then.....

Maybe peace will be restored to the world.

Can you...

...do me a favour?

What is it?

I want you to marry a short-lived husband...

...so that I can go to you...

...20 years later.

Don't cry.

Time is always brief when people are together.

If we cry, the time will be wasted.

It'll be a loss.

Even before we get old,...

...we seem to have gotten together for a lifetime.

Aren't we lucky?

It's not necessary to get that old.

I won't cry.

Good.

Ms. Zhou won't cry.

You're the best practitioner...

...who beats Disha,...

...though it's a self-proclaimed title.

Are you asking to be beaten up?

Take a look, sir. Which one would you like?

Baked cakes!

Baked cakes!

Boss, how much is it? -What filling would you like?

We have beef and carrot fillings. Which one?

Beef. -2 bronze coins for one.

Two.

Mr. Yang. -Who are you?

I'm from Peddlers Gang. Aren't you Yang Jin?

Yes, I am.

I had contact with Master Qinghui. He is crafty.

We need to combine both martial arts and strategy.

What is your opinion, Mr. Li?

As the saying goes, to catch bandits, catch the leader first.

He has only a few helpful aides.

I think we can beat him through a group attack.

My concern is that he might...

...conceal his identity for long.

If so,...

...I can do the same.

However, I'll be the first to charge...

...as soon as he shows up.

He...

...killed my son.

Whatever way it is,...

...I'll risk my life...

...to claim his head.

Granny Octaface.

Everyone here bears a grudge against him.

I suppose he is difficult to deal with...

...when he could harm so many people...

...and sects within a short period.

Are you frightened? -Of course I'm not.

Gentlemen, we're gathered...

...to discuss for a solution, not to argue.

Since Master Qinghui is good at concealing himself,...

...we should do the same.

Do you have an idea, Mr. Li?

Yes, but it requires everyone...

...to fight as one.

"To Yang Jin, Yin Pei murdered Master Chongxiaoxi,...

This is unforgivable. We plan to kill him at Liu Village...

...for the benefit of others. Regards, Li Sheng."

Sister Zhou, this is a letter from Brother Li.

Yin Pei has eliminated Siming Sect.

Liu Village is his next target.

Li Sheng wants us to meet him at Liu Village.

Does he want to fight Yin Pei?

The world of martial arts is not united.

Your cousin has the potential to lead an alliance.

He has the potential to dream.

He will get himself killed by Yin Pei...

...as he's incompetent.

Fine. Let's help him.

Is this the way to Liu Village?

Yes, Zhou who easily gets lost.

Do you miss...

...any place other than Jiankang?

Xiang River.

It's not far from 48 Strongholds.

Did you stay there as well?

Peng Lai was where I stayed the longest.

I stayed for quite some time in Jiangling, too.

I visited Xiang River only a few times.

How are you connected to the river?

My father drowned in the river...

...when he was subjugating the rebellion.

I was just a year old.

My kingdom vanished after that.

I became a down-and-out prince.

Whenever I face confusion or difficulty,...

...I tend to seek an answer at the river.

Although I can't recall my father at all,...

...from what I know later,...

...my father told his subordinate prior to the war...

...that he would die at the river.

He had made arrangements for his funeral.

He seemed...

...unconcerned about his death.

Come to think of it,...

...his situation back then was similar...

...to mine now.

There's no need to feel down actually.

You're different from your father.

The truth is you'll have to go through obstacles...

...in the process of doing great things.

Everything will be all right.

You've read a lot lately.

What is wrong with you? -You poked me hard.

I..... -It's a lie.

Who are you looking for? -You must be Master Liu.

I'm Wu Chuchu of 48 Strongholds. -Leave and come another day.

It is my mother's birthday today.

I want to treat everyone to a meal.

Leave and come another day.

Master Liu!

Chuchu. -A'Sheng.

What brings you here?

"Happy Birthday"

It's almost time.

It's...

...my mother's 84th birthday today.

As the saying goes, 73 and 84.

Humans easily die at these two ages.

Who are you cursing?

Don't get mad, mother. I haven't finished.

Sit tight.

I don't believe in that.

Therefore, I invited you...

...to come and celebrate!

Master Liu invited top practitioners in the name...

...of a birthday banquet...

...to kill Yin Pei.

We'll overcome...

...all obstacles. -Yes!

Enjoy your food and drink. -Sure!

Here. Let's...

...have a toast.

We'll wait and see.

How merry. Carry on.

May I know if you're Master Qinghui?

What's the matter? Haven't you prepared everything?

Pardon me.

It is my mother's birthday and we have many friends here.

Would you spare us a day...

...to present it tomorrow?

I happen to have come at the right time.

I'll ask for a drink today.

Sure.

What is that rare item?

It's a piece of antique.

It's said to be held in the Dragon King's mouth.

Take it and it can cure a variety of poison.

It's certainly extraordinary.

My father received one, too,...

...but lost it after our family fell from grace.

What a coincidence.

Why don't you open it and show it to me?

Can't you do that? -No, I can.

Bring it to Master Qinghui.

Noted. Hurry. -Come on.

Lift it.

Heroes, kill Yin Pei!

He is seized so easily.

He doesn't seem that he's able to kill the Four Gods.

What's going on? -You're right.

Murderer!

I want to take my revenge today!

Why are there seven more?

"He is shorter than Yin Pei. He isn't Yin Pei.

None of them has the physique of Yin Pei."

Leave if you don't want to die!

You'll only die if you stay!

I'm surprised that there're seven.

You did this when we respected you.

Don't blame us for showing no mercy!

It is worth dying for righteousness!

Bring it on!

Mr. Yang, I'll find the real Yin Pei.

Buy me as much time as possible. -All right.

Such a way of harming both himself and his enemy...

...must be related to the consumption of Phoenix Pill.

"Their way of fighting is similar to Qimen formation.

No way. Everyone...

...will be badly injured before I can find the real Yin Pei.

I need to find a spot...

...to dissolve their formation with the same Bagua principle.

Split them up and defeat them one after another."

Chuchu, hide and don't come out.

Master Qinghui, why don't you show yourself?

What a coward!

"Three full lines of Qian, six broken lines of Kun.

Opening at the top and opening at the bottom."

There're eight Master Qinghui.

Madam Ni Chang, what are you waiting for?

May I know if your whistle is helpful to the fight?

It's a signal that me and Li Sheng used when we're young.

I haven't used it for a long while. I wonder if he hears me.

Master Qinghui, you've encountered my cousin before.

She will go to you personally unless you come out now!

Wait here.

Run if there is trouble.

Bad girl, can you mind your own business?

Yin Pei.

You're stirring up trouble again.

I want to kill them to avenge my whole family!

Mr. Zou, I know you bear a grudge...

...against Yin Pei,...

...but they have been confined.

It makes no difference if we simply kill anyone...

...like Yin Pei.

Thank you, Brother Li. You've improved, unexpectedly.

You almost cause internal injury to me.

A'Sheng, let me check on you.

Are you injured?

I'm fine.

Yin Pei has fled.

Yin Pei, do you want the whole world to know that you're...

...Shanchuan Sword's descendant? -Shut up!

Earlier on, you're threatened and controlled by Zheng Luosheng,...

...but now you're freed. You don't need to obey anyone anymore...

...yet you're like Zheng Luosheng now. You're unbelievable.

I killed Ding Kui for cowards who wouldn't dare to speak out.

I wiped out Four Gods Mountain that made them tremble.

I got rid of the thorn in their side...

...and then I became the next thorn in their side.

Tell me. Is it reasonable?

You searched the traitors and bullied the people.

Were you righteous?

Today, I don't want to talk to you about cause and effect...

...nor good and evil.

I can let you go so long as you turn over a new leaf...

...and stop harming the world and people.

How powerful and dignified.

I want to see how long it can last!

Yin Pei, you'll end up disgracing your ancestors.

What is good about harming yourself and others?

You're crazy.

All of you think I'm a freak.

So I'll be heartless.

I want everyone to fear me.

I want everyone to run away as soon as they see me!

My father is dead.

You worship him as a sage.

That may not have been the case...

...if he was still alive.

Is this how you judge your father?

I thought...

...my father was killed by Zheng Luosheng.

Later, I thought...

...Ji Yunchen was the real culprit.

However, today,...

...I'm resentful even after they are dead.

I only realise today.

How funny.

You distort facts and spout nonsense.

I see you've not just lost your way in martial arts.

You've lost your mind, too!

Zhou Fei, I owe you one on Mount Heng.

I won't kill you today. Leave now...

...and we're even. Leave!

Yin Pei.

Your hand is shaking hard.

How dare you mention sparing my life.

I'll say to you one last time.

Recall your subordinates.

Otherwise, I'll kill you...

...even with my last breath!

Let's see...

...whether you can do it.

Zhu Chen?

Ms. Zhou.

If there is a next life,...

...I wish to see and receive you...

...at Lingling city once again.

A'Fei! -I'll invite you to my home.

It has a lot of sweet osmanthus.

If we're fast enough...

...to go back at this time,...

...we could get to see...

...the snowy osmanthus.

The second young master of the Iron Fist Gang?

The gang was prestigious in the world of martial arts.

They hadn't been heard after the family fell from grace.

Since you all were descendants of the prominent sects,...

...why did you put on the iron masks?

Good and evil are just between thoughts.

What is the point to be powerful and invincible...

...without a kind heart?

You're blinded by the efficacy of Phoenix Pill...

...and misled by Yin Pei's words.

Do you think you can solve everything by force?

I hope you can realise that. Stop hiding behind the masks.

Do something honourable instead.

Mr. Li, how should we deal with them?

They're blinded by Yin Pei.

They'll die after taking Phoenix Pill.

Detain them. Give them a chance to repent.

All right.

Bring them away. -Noted.

Go! -Get up.

"Xingnan Sect"

"Mr. Zhu Chen of Xingnan Sect"

Many things happened during the trip in Lingling.

Every one of them comes with a long story...

...except Xingnan Sect...

...that I rescued on my way.

We met for only a few times.

I didn't expect him...

...to come and save me with his life.

Do you know why he saved you?

I would've felt awkward...

...and reluctant if this happened...

...when I had just left 48 Strongholds.

However, now...

...I.....

I knew it deep down actually.

I'm afraid he would still save you if given another chance.

I didn't have an opportunity to thank him.

Do you remember Separation Sorrow that you mentioned to me?

It was known to the world.

Now even the worst performer wouldn't sing it again.

Yes. The world is in chaos.

Everyone is struggling to live.

They only sing about vengeance for their families and states.

Other things are too far from them.

Let's go.

At least in the future, you can keep small sects...

...like Xingnan Sect from bullies. -Sure.

Anyway, I still wish...

...to see more heroes protecting the people...

...and letting them live and work in peace.

"Mr. Zhu Chen of Xingnan Sect"

You should plan for me.

Look, Mr. Li.

Mr. Zou and guys,...

...what are you doing?

We came to thank you, Mr. Li.

If you didn't gather us to fight Yin Pei together,...

...I might not have taken revenge for my family.

Please accept our bow, Mr. Li.

Don't be. Master Liu and all, please rise.

All I did...

...was leading the people to follow their hearts.

It's thanks to your group strategy, strength...

...and unity.

Thank you, all.

I wonder if the wounded ones are fine.

We've made arrangement for them.

Other than Yin Pei who has fled, other Iron Mask Devil...

...who refused to admit defeat killed themselves.

Some of them have learnt of their wrongdoing...

...and said they would repent and stop harming the people.

All in all, they're dejected people instigated by Yin Pei...

...to satisfy their own desire through extreme measures.

Somehow, Yin Pei has escaped.

Therefore, do take note...

...of his whereabouts and bring him to justice the soonest.

That's a sure thing. We'll continue to find him.

Anyway, I think...

...the world of martial arts lacks a leader like Mr. Li.

Yes. -You're right.

Yes. -That's right.

I've just left 48 Strongholds. I have limited experiences...

...and average skills.

I'm sure there is a hero...

...with better skills and experiences...

...to take up the responsibility. -Don't be modest.

You're proven to have such capability through this incident.

That's right. -I.....

I'm not being modest.

We think alike. I just don't wish to see...

...a second Yin Pei nor a similar disaster.

I know my limits.

I think you should elect a more suitable candidate...

...to lead the world of martial arts.

Well.....

A'Fei, what are you thinking?

It's broken again.

Suizhe was given to me by my father.

Do you think it can be fixed?

It isn't difficult to do so.

Even I can do it, but Suizhe is made...

...of unique material.

We might not find the suitable material.

Moreover, it won't be as solid as before...

...even after it is fixed.

It will break in three days based on your way of wielding it.

Instead of feeling sorry...

...for yourself, you feel bad about your weapon.

You're different from every other martial arts practitioner.

Don't worry. Don't I owe you one?

I'll repay you with a carriage full of blades.

I'll wrap it in red cloth and deliver them...

...to 48 Strongholds in a procession.

Who cares about a carriage full of blades from you?

What should I do if they look good but are as fragile...

...as you?

Rest assured.

I'll forge the best blade for you.

Where is Li Sheng? Why don't I see him?

Everyone is happy with the defeat of Yin Pei.

All practitioners look up to your cousin.

He is busy making friends.

Thank you for helping us...

...to attack Yin Pei.

We might not have been successful...

...without substantial support of elders like you.

It's thanks to your strategy as well.

I only came up with the plan.

They don't just treat you well...

...because of Mistress Li.

You led them to defeat.....

You defeated Iron Mask Devil.

They might have seen hope.

Everyone is in danger when crooks are thriving.

When everyone is oppressed,...

...they actually wish to see...

...the likes of Li Zheng and Yin Wenlan.

You're a descendant of a renowned family.

Do you get what I mean?

I'm still far behind my grandfather.

Don't belittle yourself.

One who can gather the people...

...may not be the most powerful sometimes.

Don't let your elders down.

Would you have been left with the last breath...

...if I didn't rush to save you after receiving your letter?

There're so many practitioners here.

I wouldn't have counted on you alone.

However, I underestimated Yin Pei.

If I could.....

Thanks for saving me with your life.

Are you happy now?

Yes.

These practitioners worship you today.

They might claim that you can effortlessly kill Yin Pei.

They'll support you as the leader of alliance.

Then, some devils...

...from Disha or somewhere else...

...might show up and cause you in trouble.

Some time later,...

...due to some petty matters,...

...before you know it, you might be seen...

...as undeserving of your fame.

You might be the next Huo Liantao.

No worries.

Be it Yin Pei or Huo Liantao,...

...good and evil are merely between thoughts.

I know what to do in the affairs...

...of the world of martial arts.

All right. Just be careful.

Don't plot against one another...

...or get killed by someone in your sleep.

"Soar to the Sky"

Just come to me if you need anything in the future, Mr. Zou.

I will. -Hold on, Mr. Zou.

What can I do for you, Ms. Wu?

Are you free for a word in private?

I still have affairs in the manor. Take your time.

To be frank, Mr. Zou, I've been compiling books of martial arts.

I'm really impressed by the battle...

...between you and Yin Pei.

Do I have the honour to learn of your skills...

...so that I can record and pass it down?

You're so far-sighted. I've always had the same ambition.

I'm flattered.

Although I'm from a small sect,...

...the skills are painstaking effort of my ancestors.

My family has been eliminated.

I'm really worried that I may fail to pass down the skills.

Don't worry. I'll do my best to compile it.

Brother Yang.

Are you leaving?

I think I should check on Small Apothecary Valley.

Forget it. Don't you want to go to 48 Strongholds? Just go.

I'm not going. Why should I go when all of you aren't there?

Even so,...

...there is someone else there.

Yin Wenlan suddenly came to me one day.

He handed me the book of Shanchuan Sword.

He told me to entrust it...

...to a descendant of the family if he died.

I suppose he knew...

...he could hardly survive when he carried the secret...

...of Ocean Sky Bracelet.

No one in the world of martial arts knows this.

I've been keeping the secret for over 20 years.

After giving some thought,...

...I think handing the best option for now...

...is to hand it to you.
