Legend of Fei

Episode 36

You've already heard from the elder that...

...we're going to a miasma forest.

They must have protection since they guard this place all year.

If we don't take these sachets, we'll be weakened by the miasma.

We'll lose our consciousness and die.

It's that scary?

Let's go. -All right.

Let's go.

Slow down.

Who's there?

Is this the way to Cloud Ravine?

Outsiders are not allowed in Cloud Ravine. Leave!

Traitor. As the chief, you led others in rebelling.

You disregarded the rules of Cloud Ravine.

Since you've stepped down on your own,...

...I'll remove you as the chief!

Cloud Ravine must have a chief.

I'm gathering all of you to select...

...a suitable candidate among the youths to be the chief...

...to lead Cloud Ravine...

...and practise medicine.

We'll follow the usual rules to compete in medicine skills.

The winner will be the chief.

Elder, Something bad has happened.

They have poisoned our disciples and intruded the forbidden forest.

They've entered miasma forest. They'll die if we don't save them.

After them! -Yes!

Will Yang Jin be all right? -He wouldn't be if we stayed.

He's one of them. I don't think they'll kill him.

Why didn't he look for us if he's all right?

We only have two sachets. It'd be troublesome if he came.

I've finally found you. I thought we're looking for Zhuming Grass.

This way. Hurry. -Wait!

It's the miasma forest ahead and I only have two sachets.

We can't be bothered anymore. Go. -Let's go.

I mean..... -Come on!

Yang Jin really makes people worried.

He's really a disgrace.

Elder, don't worry about it.

This matter is simple.

If you're selecting a chief based on medical skills,...

...you can just select me.

How arrogant.

Who are you and how dare you brag about your skills here!

You'll know if I'm only bragging after we compete.

I really can't move anymore.

Don't breathe too hard. We're surrounded by miasma.

Yang Jin. -Yang Jin.

Why are you an unreliable chief?

No wonder the elders say this is a forbidden forest...

...and assign many people to guard it.

What should we do now? Should we get one more?

I can't fight my own people. -We only have two sachets.

Listen,...

...give this to me. He and I will go.

You're familiar with the terrain here.

Find a place to hide outside the miasma forest.

Both of us will meet you after we find Zhuming Grass.

No, you don't even know...

...the amount of snakes and insects in this forest.

You have average martial arts skills. You'll be in danger.

A'Yan and I will go and you will hide.

All right.

Do you know how Zhuming Grass looks like?

Why don't the two of us go and let A'Yan hide instead?

You don't know how the grass looks like and you can't fight.

You..... -You...

You can fight but you're not as good as Yang Jin, right?

So, we'll come back soon. -No way!

You can't leave me alone here! You can't!

You can't.

We came together. So we must go together.

All right then.

Are you a descendant of Great Apothecary Valley?

Great Apothecary Valley was annihilated 20 years ago.

How did you learn of this prescription...

...and what do you have against us?

I'll answer you one by one after this competition is over.

Elder! -Stop.

Your sect doesn't deserve its fame.

We have a deal.

I admit defeat.

I won't hold you responsible if I die.

I just don't understand...

...how I lost.

I'll tell you then.

To poison you, of course I knew the antidote you used.

I also knew that the antidote...

...consisted of a beneficial ingredient,...

...but it becomes highly poisonous if it's mixed with wine.

You actually forgot such a simple principle in poison.

Don't worry.

It may be highly poisonous but it's not fatal.

It'll only reduce your internal energy. You'll be unable to move.

My wine?

Why are you fine?

Are you talking about this?

You wanted this poisonous spider to sting me when I was not ready.

Too bad, I grew up with such poisonous creatures.

My body is already immune to most poison.

You raised this spider well,...

...but it had to run away...

...when it saw me. -Who on earth are you?

Great Apothecary Valley's only descendant. Who do you think I am?

Your ancestors of Small Apothecary Valley...

...were just a bunch of travelling physicians.

They managed to set up this sect...

...because they secretly read our Apothecary King Record.

Elder, am I right?

We've been living in seclusion for years.

We have nothing against you.

Why are you making trouble for us?

It's good that you admit it. Too bad you can only heal...

...and are bad with poison.

You don't even dare to leave the sect in chaotic times.

You hide in here.

Your existence is pointless.

There should only be one sect in this world,...

...Disha Manor.

So, you're traitor...

...who burned down Great Apothecary Valley,...

...Lianshen!

Yang Jin, slow down.

I have an idea. One of you should carry me on your back...

...and hang this around the neck. Then, we can use it together.

That makes sense. You will carry her!

Yang Jin, do you know which way to go?

Since Zhuming Grass is the most fiery poisonous grass,...

...it must be growing somewhere with the most concentrated miasma.

We'll find it as long as we find the source of miasma.

Yes, just walk ahead.

You should've asked me about it. Why would you ask Yang Jin?

This is his home.

As the chief, he might know some useful clues.

What's wrong?

I'm not their chief anymore.

They stripped me of my position after you left.

Really? -It's that serious?

I'm sorry.

I thought you guys were joking. I didn't know you're serious.

I'm sorry.

It's all right. I never wanted to be the chief anyway.

I always thought about having duels...

...and I was rarely in the valley.

I felt pretty bad about it.

Now I'm freed.

Let's go.

The miasma ahead is thick. It means we're on the right track.

However, these sachets can't help us in such concentrated miasma.

What should we do then?

Remember to hold your breath.

Don't ever run or move recklessly.

The more you move, the more you inhale the miasma.

Let's go. -Let's go.

Elder, if you're willing to cooperate with me,...

...I might not kill all these disciples.

What do you want?

Did anyone come here to pick Zhuming Grass recently?

No.

Zhuming Grass is the most fiery poisonous grass.

Why would anyone want it? -Snake Man, are we almost there?

We're almost there.

We're almost there.

What are those white things?

Zhuming Grass is the most fiery poisonous grass.

This place is bound to attract poisonous creature to nest here.

Those poisonous creatures must have laid those white eggs.

Although I'm not certain what type of poison it is,...

...but I'm certain that...

...if we accidentally step on it, they'll swarm and attack us.

That's Zhuming Grass.

Elder, you don't have a habit of lying, right?

If you don't tell me, I'll kill him.

I'll kill them one by one...

...until you're willing to tell.

The chief brought his friends! -Quiet!

Please don't kill me.

Be careful!

I'll throw the grass at you if I accidentally step on these!

Be careful!

You're back. -Waiter, prepare hot water.

Be right up.

Are you from Xingnan Sect?

Why are you here, too?

Is Ms. Wu with you?

No, we went our separate ways a long time ago.

We're only here to pass a message on Mr. Li's behalf.

What's the message?

Where are you going? I'm not done asking.

I have something to do. I will look for my brother.

Is Mr. Zhu here, too?

Ying'er!

Sir, what can I do for you?

Sir?

You're born weak and you can't practise martial arts.

You're doomed to be weak and useless.

What can you do for me?

So what if I can't practise martial arts?

Without martial arts skills,...

...you're fated to be oppressed.

I do need some lapdogs.

Why don't you turn to me and be one?

I'll teach you some defence skills.

You can do as you like around the world. What do you think?

I'm Xingnan Sect's young master. How can I degrade myself?

Degrade!

Which is more degrading? Following my orders...

...or becoming like me?

Treat others the way you would like to be treated.

Mr. Yin, everyone was grateful...

...when you eliminated...

...the crook from Four Gods Mountain.

Your current actions make you no different from Zheng Luosheng.

Ms. Zhou, you're finally back. Mr. Zhu is in trouble.

Help me out. -All right.

Heroes and crooks? They're all a bunch of liars!

You're a mad man.

Zhou Fei?

Yin Pei?

That's right, it's me.

Long time no see.

Why are you dressed up like this?

I guess you didn't get enough beating from me at Sanchun Inn.

I should teach you a lesson on behalf of Mr. Ji.

Stay out of this!

Are you trying to run now?

You've harmed so many people. Would you still be sacred?

I don't want to waste my time here with you.

Are you all right?

Ms. Zhou, thank you for saving me again.

I..... -Don't mention it.

Ms. Zhou, you're finally back.

Any news from Yang Jin and Physician of Venom?

They went to Cloud Ravine after receiving your letter.

I think they're looking for a herb.

All right. Can I borrow Peddlers Gang's...

...messenger pigeon, shopkeeper?

Your wish is my command.

Ms. Zhou, how's your injury?

It's fine. Thank you for asking.

Where's Mr. Xie?

He went back to his sect for some matters.

I..... -Anything else?

Mr. Li asked me to pass a message to you.

He and Ms. Wu are staying at Qiaoyun House with Madam Ni Chang.

He said they're safe. Don't worry about them.

Noted. -I still have something to say.

I want to say...

...I never had a chance to thank you properly.

If you're..... -No big deal. Don't mention it.

Ms. Zhou, the messenger pigeon is ready.

Is it a letter from Ms. Zhou?

A'Fei has decided to return Shendu Seal to Mu Xiaoqiao.

Wang Lin would be turning in his grave.

Not many people can be free of obsession and greed.

Zhou Fei is one of the rare ones who can do that.

Anzhi, you're really lucky.

A'Fei is not so lucky to have met me.

I've brought so much difficulties to her.

I fear I'll end up letting her down.

She hasn't given up.

She's still working hard to find the antidote for you.

So, you must take care at this time.

If the third ingredient didn't reach on time,...

...your body will only become weaker.

I won't give up.

I just can't imagine...

...how she'll feel if all her hard work is in vain.

She'll be even sadder.

Not everything goes according to our wishes.

It's all right, as long as there' no regret. I'm sure you know this.

Yes, A'Fei believes in that.

A'Sheng.

A'Sheng.

Who is it? -It's me.

Chuchu, you're finally awake.

How long have I passed out?

You.....

Why do you look haggard?

Me?

Master Chongxiaozi was killed by Yin Pei.

I've been contacting the martial artists to go after him.

I'm probably just tired.

Why am I telling you this when you just woke up?

Are you feeling better now?

I'll get Madam Ni Chang.

Don't go.

I just woke up. Can you keep me company for a while?

All right.

May I know why you want to see me?

I heard you're going...

...after Master Qinghui. -Yes, I am.

It's not simple. Are you confident?

You may think I'm young and no match for him,...

...but I can't just do nothing after seeing...

...what Master Qinghui did.

Whether I'll succeed or not,...

...I won't know if I don't try.

Well-said.

The young people are indeed ambitious.

So, how's the progress?

Not many are willing to step up.

Tell them...

...you're not alone in this fight.

Yuyi Troupe is your ally when it comes to this.

I know what you're going to ask.

Yuyi Troupe has been staying out of trouble...

...and wandering freely.

We are not willing to be involved in feuds of martial arts world.

However, it is different this time.

Master Qinghui is the son of Shanchuan Sword.

If I don't step in, Brother Yin's reputation...

...will be ruined by him.

Wake up!

Wake up!

You're finally awake. You're so weak.

You passed out after a short run.

Did you come from Cloud Ravine? -Why are you asking?

There are so many people going in and out of Cloud Ravine.

We've also heard a lot about Cloud Ravine.

We're here to seek help from them.

We're lost just now. You said there were many people going in?

We only want to know who they are...

...and see if they can take us along.

There was a woman bringing her followers to Cloud Ravine.

When she left, she fed the dog with some fruits.

The dog died on the spot.

Where is it? -That tree over there.

It's her.

Who?

This is the fruit of Drowning Sorrow from my valley.

Only one person would plant this.

What's wrong? Who exactly is that?

The person who betrayed the sect and joined Disha, Lianshen.

I've checked out the place. Disha's men are everywhere.

I fear the situation within isn't that good.

I guess we have no choice.

Follow me. This way.

We're poisoned by Lianshen and we don't know how to cure it.

Find the antidote. -Don't move.

Go now.

Leave now. -Don't worry, I'll save you.

Is Yang Jin showing off his skills in there again?

A'Yan, run.

I didn't stop you from interfering then but not this time.

We had a deal. We came here together.

It's because Lianshen is not like the other Disha members.

You don't know how powerful she is. Even if she.....

Everyone couldn't move because they're poisoned.

I don't know how to make the antidote. What should we do?

She must have the antidote with her.

Are you planning to rob her?

Lianshen is occupying the ancestral hall.

I'll distract her...

...while you will find the antidote.

These fools protect all these rare herbs. What a pity.

Congratulations, Disha Sect is a step closer to ruling the world.

Haven't you found that girl yet?

Oh no, there's a fire in front!

A fire?

She's gone. We must find the antidote before she returns.

Let's go!

We're counting on you now, Physician of Venom. Identify it.

Is this the antidote?

She wouldn't keep the antidote in somewhere so obvious.

Where would it be?

Someone is here.

Why did she return so quickly?

Are there rats here?

I wonder why there's a fire all of a sudden.

I turned out a rat spirit...

...started a fire to lure me away...

...so that it could steal something here.

I've always hated those who act stealthily.

When I was young, my senior used my hairpin without permission.

I used the exact hairpin to stab her eye.

That way, she could wear it all the time.

Master, where did you bury Ocean Sky?

I don't know what you're talking about.

You have a wicked mind. You only study poison since young...

...and never care about healing people.

You can only watch me die today.

Serves you right for missing out the Ocean Sky.

May this be the last lesson I am giving you.

I'm the one you're looking for!

You're the chief who ran away. -I am the chief but I didn't run.

Look, only I know where the people you're looking for are.

They're in the cupboard.

I've already planted the poison. So, no need to bluff me.

They can't escape now. -Shut up!

Wait, Lianshen has planted some poison outside the door.

This is the antidote.

I made it myself. So I'm not sure if it'll work.

However, this is our only way.

Take this with you. I made this powder.

Throw it in the fire and it'll release poisonous tear gas...

...that makes people can't see.

I have to face the evil Lianshen sooner or later.

Use the secret tunnel and take the antidote to the elders.

Since you're here, don't even think about leaving!

Sure, I'll send you to your doom then.

Bring it on!

I'd rather die than going through the same nightmare again.

What is this?

Who are you?

I'm the valley's descendant...

...the only descendant of Great Apothecary Valley.

Impossible.

You're that kid.

After you poisoned Master, I've been studying your poison.

Traitor! -Hu Tianying,...

...you're the most talented disciple then.

Master wanted to hand the record...

...to you and made you the chief...

...but you only poisoned people instead of saving lives.

That's why Master took back the Apothecary King Record...

...because he's afraid the sect would only be good in poison.

After so many years of studying poison,...

...I only use poison to cure. Hence, I'm Physician of Venom.

I'm not like you,...

...a crook who only knows how to poison people.

Guards!

Guards!

Elder, you're..... -We're fine. This lady saved us.

Hongqu!

Lady, they used a poisonous smoke on us. We can't see clearly.

Retreat!

What's wrong with you? Are you poisoned, too?

It the same that time.

I was in the cupboard and she was outside.

I saw her killing my master with my own eyes.

I could finally stand in front of her...

...to face her.

It's all thanks to you today.

Thank you, my friend.

My uncle once said those who knew they couldn't win...

...but still did went on courageously...

...were the real heroes.

Thank you.

Thank you.

Keep it. Don't simply throw it away.

Elder, I think you should just take it back.

I've always wanted to travel and practise my martial arts.

I'm not suitable to be the chief. You're selecting one, right?

You can pick a suitable one. -No, we're wrong.

When the former chief passed his position...

...to you, who only practised...

...martial arts instead of medicine,...

...we thought he was biased.

We didn't understand his intention.

After this incident, we now understand him.

He purposely chose someone who's skilled in martial arts...

...to protect Small Apothecary Valley...

...so that we won't end up like Great Apothecary Valley.

Elder, what...

...about Zhuming Grass?

We didn't want to give it to you...

...because the miasma in the forest could harm you.

Since you've already gotten it, you don't have to ask me.

Just take it with you. -Really? Thank you, Elder.

Let's look for A'Fei. I've gotten Zhuming Grass for her.

She won't say I'm useless again. Let's go.

Thank you, Elder.

Let's go.

I've reminded Tianying not to underestimate these kids,...

...but she still did. -Yes.

We found out that Zhou Fei was seen near Lingling City lately.

She seems to be waiting to meet Master Vermilion, Mu Xiaoqiao.

Zhou Fei is pretty interesting.

"Would Li Yan cause trouble at Small Apothecary Valley?"

Pretty girl, you're early.

You're late instead, Master Vermilion.

Where's my thing?

It's now returned to its owner.

Everyone risks his or her life to get this, yet you're...

...giving it to me just like that.

I promised to return it to you. I wouldn't go back on my word.

I don't need it anyway.

What's your next plan?

I suspect Lianshen has resurfaced.

She's likely to be the one who poisoned Old Master Huo.

I must get to the bottom of this.

Lianshen.

Remember to notify me if you have news of her.

No way, this prey is mine.

No one can get ahead of me.

Fine, I have other things to attend to. I'll leave now.

She's not only your enemy. Find me if you can't beat her.

It's nothing to be ashamed of.

Brat.

It's Beggar's Chicken of Beggars' Sect.

You're just feeling better. You can't eat too much oily food.

I'm perfectly healthy. I'll take eat it for you.

No way.

I don't know how long I'm going to live...

...and I finally wake up. I must replenish my body.

You even try to steal it from me? -That's not what I mean.

Fine, I'll give you some.

Brat, I didn't believe it when you said you're once a beggar.

Did you really become one?

Of course, I've done all sorts of things.

You know what?.

Being a beggar enabled me to have a lot of freedom.

However, A'Fei is pretty all right, too.

She has the freedom to go everywhere.

Brat, stop thinking too much.

Let's enjoy this Beggar's Chicken. It's going to lighten up the mood.

Let's dig in.

Here you go.

Eat this drumstick.

Eat it.

We got Zhuming Grass and Yang Jin becomes the chief again.

We even defeated Lianshen. We're amazing, right?

Yes, we are.

I decided to stay in Small Apothecary Valley.

"How long will it take to reach Small Apothecary Valley?"
