Legend of Fei

Episode 35

Do you still remember the first time we met?

You're still the commander of Anping Army at the time...

...while I was exiled from Great Apothecary Valley.

My master said...

...I was an evil person as I was only good with poison...

...and not in healing.

So, he couldn't make me chief and hand Apothecary King Record to me.

I betrayed the sect out of anger.

You took me in.

That's right. Why find ways to cure those weaklings...

...instead of making ourselves stronger?

You asked me to find Ocean Sky...

...to equip Anping Army and bring peace to the world.

There will come a day when you rule this territory.

Time has changed.

Anping Army has a new leader.

Ocean Sky is still...

...nowhere to be seen.

Tianshu, what's the matter?

I've underestimated the strength of the young people.

Tong Tianyang, Chu Tianyu and Lu Tiankuang...

...were defeated by those brats...

...from 48 Strongholds.

Tianying. -Those brats...

...don't even know what exactly Ocean Sky is.

They're just lucky, that's all.

One day, I'm going to make them...

...hand over everything that they've taken.

You're acting this time? -Zhou Fei got Fire Lotus.

She's going to Cloud Ravine in Southern Xinjiang...

...to get Zhuming Grass to suppress the poison.

I'm going to kill her...

...and get back Shendu Seal for you.

Then, come back as soon you're done...

...and don't ever stray.

"Disha Manor"

I was an orphan living on the snow mountain...

...with other ferocious beasts and had little to eat.

You're the one who brought me down the mountain...

...and gave me a new life.

You're the only one I trust.

I need you to do something for me.

It was too late for me.

Liu Youliang, who guarded the map,...

...failed to keep the secret.

Master Vermilion and I had a deal. He helped me with Fire Lotus.

This time, I must hand Shendu Seal to him.

What exactly is Ocean Sky...

...that everyone is coveting?

Do you know?

This.....

Anzhi should be the one telling you,...

...but since you're eager to know,...

...you can ask your father, Master Gan Tang.

My father?

After meeting him,...

...you'll understand everything.

Why don't you see Anzhi before you leave?

No.

I'm scared I won't be able to leave if I see him.

Master Gan Tang.

Thank you.

Mistress Li sent it?

How do you know?

Sorry that you have to see this.

Master, someone asked me to give you this.

The guards thought it was a troublemaker,...

...but I think you should take a look at it.

Who's that insolent fool? -It's all right.

Let her in. -Yes, sir.

You can get back to work. -All right.

Master Gan Tang is in the barracks.

This way, please.

Master Gan Tang is inside.

A'Fei. -Father.

A'Fei, you've grown taller.

Father, you haven't seen me for a long time.

A'Fei, do you still blame me...

...for not taking you along?

I know...

...you're the strongest.

Tell me where you've been all this while.

It's a long story.

I'll tell you once we're inside.

What's wrong?

I'm all right.

It has been cold in the past few days.

You've lost weight.

Of course.

This isn't like the mountain.

Your mother is there to hunt animals and pick vegetables.

There's really nothing much here.

You're still wearing this old rag worn by my mother.

This isn't old rag.

The clothes your mother make is the warmest.

"This is the Anping Army mentioned by the people.

There are people who stand up during troubled times.

Suddenly, I understand my father, my mother...

...as well as Xie Yun.

I have a gift for you.

You're giving me a gift the moment I arrive.

Cheeky girl.

Take a look at it.

"Suizhe"

This saber is called Suizhe.

There's really poison in this?

The best poison is always colourless and odourless.

I'm being kind. So I'm telling you.

Try it. -No way.

I won't try it.

Why don't you try it yourself?

If I try it, who's going to record the symptoms and reactions...

...of being poisoned?

I have the antidote. Don't be scared.

I was bedridden for a few days the last time I did.

I'm not going to try it.

You want me to study Piercing Green.

Is this Piercing Green?

Piercing Green is hard to make and its formula no longer exists.

This poison is not even a tenth of Piercing Green.

Finish it and I'll give you the antidote right away.

Nothing will go wrong.

Why didn't you ask Li Yan to test it for you?

What are you talking about?

Nothing. -Nothing.

We're talking about getting you to try on new clothes.

Didn't you say you wanted new clothes?

Yang Jin wanted you to try new clothes.

That's not important.

Look, A'Fei has replied and said she's fine.

So, Xie Yun is still alive?

She said Brother Xie's master found a prescription...

...and she's travelling around to find the herbs.

Let me take a look.

Fire Lotus. Zhuming Grass.

I think I've heard of Zhuming Grass before.

It only grows in Cloud Ravine.

So, have you heard of it?

I don't understand why they pick you as the chief.

What else did she say? Is she heading to Cloud Ravine?

Don't worry, father.

Most of them are no match for me now.

I have even met Disha for a few times.

You're good to me as you know I need a saber.

Actually,..

...I've been wanting to get you a great weapon.

However, after so many years of turmoil,...

...there're less precious sabers in this world.

I've asked many people to find ancient sabers,...

...but not many suited you.

The intact ones either...

...has poor quality or a bad reputation.

When I found this,...

...I found it interesting.

Suizhe Wasn't made by a famous person...

...because it was forged by Lu Run.

It's the only one he made.

This name sounds familiar.

It's said Lu Run is the last disciple of Ghost Valley.

He's skilled in military strategy, medicine and martial arts.

He's a very famous person of the previous dynasty.

He passed down his skills to his three disciples.

The first one established Great Apothecary Valley.

The other one set up Qimen.

As for his youngest disciple, he became a military official.

It's rumoured that Huang Shenbian was his successor.

Huang Shenbian?

Now I remember.

Lu Run. Apothecary King Record.

Great Apothecary Valley's record. -Yes, it's his work.

Huang Shenbian was his successor.

Father, is Huang Shenbian...

...connected to Ocean Sky?

Is the secret behind Ocean Sky true?

A'Fei, how many objects...

...of Ocean Sky have you seen?

If Shuibo Mark is an object of Ocean Sky,...

...then I've seen the golden bracelet of 48 Strongholds,...

...Yin Pei's Shanchuan Sword scabbard,...

...Wu Chuchu's longevity lock...

...and Old Master Huo's Shendu Seal.

That means you're a step closer...

...to opening Ocean Sky.

I only want to know what exactly it is.

It keeps following me wherever I go.

Every time it appears,...

...it cost so many lives around me.

My uncle, Chenfei,...

...Master Ji...

...and Xie Yun.

A'Fei,...

...is Xie Yun the friend you mentioned?

The truth is, Ocean Sky...

...isn't following you.

It's following him.

How is he? -He's stable for now.

However, the coldness has penetrated his bones.

Soon all his five organs will be frozen.

What.....

Don't worry,...

...he'll wake up once in a while.

No matter how loud we are,...

...it won't bother him.

Why didn't you tell me earlier?

Why are you smiling?

If this brat recovers,...

...will he sneak out like he did last time...

...and cause chaos?

That's how the youngsters are.

Who would rather spend time with old men like us...

...on a deserted island...

...and survive on buns?

However, other kids would return after they're out of money.

He didn't come back even when he's out of money.

He's born with a silver spoon in his mouth.

So he knows nothing about money.

It's a good thing.

He won't know the people's suffering...

...without experiencing it.

That's true.

Sir, have some dumplings!

Patterned fabric!

Please sit there.

I brought so much money...

...but it's all used up pretty fast.

So much money? Thank you very much!

What can I order with these?

A jar of wine and half catty of boiled meat.

All right, I'll have those then. -Coming right up.

I've used up all my money. What now?

Snacks! -Take a look!

Fresh flowers for sale.

Fresh flowers for sale!

What happened to that prostitute?

Did she really end up with that nobleman?

Of course,...

...she's even at home fulfilling her duty as a wife and mother.

What kind of story is this? How can they be together?

What nonsense is this?

Please tip me.

Please tip me.

Why did you just leave after listening to the story?

Unbelievable.

Sir,...

...your told your story too casually.

You know how to tell stories, too?

The nobleman you mentioned...

...must have been an amorous man.

Why would he be a changed man after meeting the prostitute?

It wasn't easy for her to marry the nobleman.

She thought she got what she wanted...

...but unexpectedly,...

...the nobleman didn't appreciate her after marrying her.

In the end, the concubine stayed alone in her empty chamber...

...and died in depression.

Your story is too sad.

No one will believe a perfect story...

...in this kind of world.

I haven't eaten for days. Pleas give me some money.

"I have no money and I haven't eaten for days, too."

"Zuixian Restaurant"

You did me a huge favour during daytime.

The story you changed for me helped me to make a lot of money.

I've never received so much tips in my life.

If you want to make money,...

...you can write stories and compose music.

I can make money from that? -Of course.

There's a mysterious troupe...

...called Yuyi Troupe. -Give me some money, kind sir.

If you write and compose a good one, they'll send...

...a beautiful lady to get it from you.

They even pay handsomely.

All right, I'll give it a shot.

That's good.

"Heaven!"

Can I make money from writing and composing?

Not bad.

Thank you, kind sir.

Sir, enjoy your meal.

Get up! You're blocking my way.

What a jinx!

I was only resting outside.

I didn't even block your way.

It's no big deal. Calm down. Stop hitting him.

Rascal, it's none of your business.

He's only begging for food.

You don't have to hit him even if you don't help him.

This beggar was in my way.

Are you helping him? -Are you alone?

Not that I can't.

Guys, hurry! Don't let him escape. Beat him up!

Brother! Someone is bullying me! -After him!

Stop right there! -Beat him up!

Move! -Out of the way!

It smells really nice. What's this?

This is called Beggar's Chicken.

I'll let you try later. -All right.

Here, take this. -Nice.

Have some. -Thank you.

Here, like this.

What do you think?

It's really good.

It's really delicious.

"House of Regrets" "Love letters and red rouge."

"Two streams of lonely tears, snow in homeland. By Qiansuiyou"

Sir, we didn't do anything wrong.

Don't be scared, we're only searching for someone.

Search inside. -Yes, sir.

Anzhi is awake.

Be careful. Do it slowly.

Anzhi, you're still weak. Don't move around.

I dreamt that A'Fei was here.

Yes, she was here.

After leaving the herb here, she left...

...after taking Shendu Seal with her.

She never cared about Ocean Sky.

Why did she take Shendu Seal?

Anzhi, when you're unconscious,...

..the world went upside down.

Liu Youliang appeared.

I fear that Ocean Sky might be triggered.

I guess a bloodbath...

...will happen again.

I can't be bothered now.

Master, how long can I stay conscious this time?

Can I wait until A'Fei's return?

...when the general rebelled,...

...Huang Shenbian sent out a huge pile of treasure...

...from the palace to preserve the strength of our dynasty.

He got martial artists to hide it near Great Apothecary Valley.

This treasure...

...is the legendary Ocean Sky.

How did you know about it?

Wang Lin was Huang Shenbian's lieutenant.

He's in charge of Anping Army.

When the mutiny happened, he didn't join as he was outside.

So, he knew nothing of it.

After Huang Shenbian passed on,...

...the secret of Ocean Sky was leaked for an unknown reason.

That's how Yin Wenlan ended up dead...

...and Great Apothecary Valley was annihilated.

Wang Lin spent his life searching for this treasure...

...to revive the previous dynasty.

However, there was no clue...

...of its whereabouts.

As the lieutenant, Wang Lin...

...didn't have all the clues.

How did Disha know more than he did?

It's because Disha's Shen Tianshu...

...was part of Anping Army.

So, that's how everyone knew its existence.

Ocean Sky is no longer a secret anymore.

Father, what exactly...

...is the secret of Ocean Sky?

Is it true as they say that it can change one's fate?

Do you believe in anything that can make...

...the river flow in reverse and ashes to be ignited again?

I don't know what's hidden in Ocean Sky.

I also believe...

...that no one knows the truth about Ocean Sky.

However, I believe...

...there's no such thing that can change one's fate.

Otherwise, the previous dynasty...

...wouldn't have collapsed in an instant.

Whatever that's hidden in Ocean Sky...

...is only the greed of humans, that's all.

I finally know why Xie Yun...

...has been avoiding this.

Some things...

...are destined.

Even if he wants to avoid it, he just can't.

Father,...

...I know Ocean Sky now.

I'm going to save Xie Yun.

No matter what he wants to do after he wakes up,...

...I'm going to help him to fulfil it.

Slow down.

What do you want to do? -I want to draw.

What do you want to draw?

I want to draw something for A'Fei...

...so that I can show it to her when she comes next time.

We'll leave.

Come on, let's go.

Let's go.

We'll go. -We're leaving.

Greetings, Your Highness. -I'm here to meet Master Gan Tang.

He's inside the general's tent. I'll lead the way.

The rest of you, wait here. -Yes, sir.

This way, please.

It's right in front.

The prince is here to see Master Gan Tang.

All right, please enter.

This way, please.

You must remember what I said.

Greetings, Master Gan Tang. -Your Highness.

This is my daughter, A'Fei.

A'Fei, greet the prince.

Your Highness. -It's all right.

Such formalities are not needed after what happened.

Both of you know each other?

A'Fei, why didn't you tell me about it?

Not only that, she saved my life.

If she didn't lend me a hand,...

...I would have died in Disha's hands.

I was only helping you. Don't worry about it.

A'Fei.

It was Extermination Meeting at Huo Manor.

He was kidnapped by Chu Tianyu. Xie Yun and I stopped Chu Tianyu.

We let the prince escape first.

I see.

Oh yes, I..... -I'll make a move...

...if you have important matters to discuss.

All right, head back first.

Take good care of yourself. -Take care, too.

Go ahead.

Ms. Zhou, have a safe journey.

I didn't know you're coming.

What brings you here?

I'm here to congratulate you, Master Gan Tang.

Along the way, I've heard you're great at commanding an army.

Even the people are praising Anping Army.

Your Highness, are you here to offer amnesty...

...under the Emperor's decree? -No, you're mistaken.

I'm here because of some personal matters.

We're not closely acquainted.

What kind of personal matters are you talking about?

Your work of resettling the refugees is praised by all.

I want to observe and learn a thing or two from you.

Your Highness, since when are you interested in political affairs?

Why don't you just be frank?

Actually, I'm here...

...because of some personal matters between Zhou Fei and me.

If my daughter has done anything to offend you,...

...I'll apologise on her behalf.

It's not that. After Ms. Zhou Fei saved my life...

...at Extermination Meeting,...

...her heroic charm...

...is unforgettable. I think of her all the time.

I specially came to talk to you about this.

I've admired Ms. Zhou Fei for a long time.

I hope you'll give me your blessing.

Your Highness, for your own safety, I advise you...

...not to have anything to do with her.

"Qiaoyun"

Madam.

Why do men only learn...

...to appreciate after losing the one they care about?

You're right. It's my fault. -It's pointless now.

Pitiful child, she has no internal energy at all,...

...yet she suffered such a blow.

You have ways, right? -No, I don't.

Madam, please. -What are you doing? Get up.

Get up and talk.

Fine, since you're not a heartless man,...

...I won't scare you anymore.

She was wearing Muyun Muslin.

The muslin has reduced most of the force of that blow.

Muyun Muslin may have been damaged,...

...but she'll be fine after recuperating for a few days.

I haven't had a chance to thank you for your timely aid.

It's nothing, we happened to be there.

If you're still waiting for A'Fei at Lingling Inn,...

...can you pass a message to her?

Tell her that Chuchu and I are safe at Madam Ni Chang's place.

Master Li, don't worry. I'll make sure she gets it.

Excuse me.

Is this the legendary Cloud Ravine?

Why is it so hot?

Cloud Ravine is a small ravine.

It's due to its humid weather that we have so many rare herbs.

Later, a group of farmers who collect herbs set up a sect...

...called Small Apothecary Valley.

Who's making so much noise?

It turns out the chief has decided to return.

Welcome back, Chief. -No, I didn't want to,...

...but my friends are here for herbs. I'll leave right after.

Outsiders cannot enter Small Apothecary Valley.

This rule was not set up today.

Even the chief cannot break this rule.

I know but these are my best friends.

I guarantee nothing will happen.

Then, blindfold yourselves and follow me.

Even my aunt wouldn't blindfold anyone...

...before they enter 48 Strongholds.

Cloud Ravine has many rules. Just blindfold yourself.

I understand.

In Small Apothecary Valley,...

...there are many precious herbs and miraculous remedies.

They're afraid those with bad intentions might find...

...their location and the history of Great Apothecary will repeat.

I think it's a good idea.

All right then.

"Cloud Ravine"

Who are these people? -Who are they?

Walk on your own.

We're already here, snake man.

You can take it off now.

Elder.

Chief, you've returned.

Elder, is everything all right here...

...while I was away?

Of course everything is fine.

It'd be better if you didn't bring any outsider back.

We'll leave after picking some herbs.

I really don't understand...

...the reason your master passed this position to you.

My friend is poisoned and it's a matter of life and death.

So, we hope to pick Zhuming Grass.

What? Zhuming Grass is the most fiery poisonous grass...

...that grows at the back of the miasma mountain. You might die.

Who are you sending to his or her death?

I'll go! -As the sect's chief,...

...don't you know it's a forbidden area? Are you going to barge in?

I won't stop you if you want to die.

What about our sect if its chief dies?

You're really driving me up the wall.

He's so fierce. He even hit him.

I don't want to be the chief anymore.

Here's the badge. Let someone else be the chief.

I'm not the chief now. So my life won't affect the sect.

I can go and pick Zhuming Grass now, right?

Do you think you can step down as you please?

Ungrateful disciple. Guards! -Yes.

Capture them! -Yes!

Don't touch him! -Old man,...

...why won't you let him finish talking?

Stop making trouble, you two! Everything is a misunderstanding.

You brought outsiders. They even pointed their blades at me.

Yang Jin, whose side are you on?

He's not listening at all. -This is our own matter.

I'm the cause of it. Let them go and I'll accept your punishment.

Fine. It's best to keep this embarrassing matter to ourselves.

Guards! -Yes!

Capture them! -Run!

Why are you catching me? -Go!

Everything is a misunderstanding.

Hurry! -They're my good friends!

Hurry! -Stop right there!

Stop!

Don't run!

Stand right there!

You two, go that way! -Yes!

Let's go!

There's something here! -All right!

Let's go!

We're blindfolded just now.

We don't even know where we are. Which way should we take?

Who cares? We should go where nobody is around.

Let's go.

Hurry up! -Wait for me!

I don't want to run anymore! -Why are you shouting here?

It's the forbidden forest up ahead. You'll die if you proceed.

Who are they?

We are.....

I'll release Misty Dew. Stall them.

All right.

We're on the same side.

Same side? -Yes.

Yang Jin is your chief, right?

The one who's tall and well-built.

His saber is this long.

You're the chief's friends?

Yes, we're very close.

We even share our clothes.

Am I right?

Yes, she's right.

Yang Jin is a troublemaker back in Cloud Ravine.

The elder prohibited him from entering the forbidden forest.

You're his friends. So it means you're troublemakers like him.

Catch them!

Run! -Hurry!

Wait!

Give them the antidote.

They won't be in danger. They'll be unconscious for half a day.

Half a day?

We're trying to find some grass on this mountain.

Isn't half a day too short?

What do you mean by some grass?

That's the most poisonous plant, Zhuming Grass.

It doesn't just grow anywhere.

I'm not worried about the time. -Let's go then.

Wait a second.
