Legend of Fei

Episode 15

He's the descendant of the famous Northern Saber.

He may have disappeared for years,...

...but he's still alive and kicking.

Knowing him,...

...he'd do anything to stay alive.

Am I right, Master Ji?

I've seen a fair share of people who break their promises,...

...but I realise that not all ungrateful people are that bad...

...after meeting you, Master Yin.

I agree with what you just said.

That old devil who stole what belonged to my family is a thief!

Shanchuan Sword and the rest belonged to the Yin family.

Is it wrong for me to take back what belonged to my family?

Since it's not wrong, why should I tell you,...

...the outsiders?

Do you want to me attract another bunch of thieves again?

Fine, Mr. Yin. Do as you please.

What are you looking at? Get lost!

You..... -Why are you out here again?

I feel restless staying inside. I can't stay here forever, right?

Are you planning to have a face-off with Azure Dragon Lord?

I know where I stand, all right?

Good.

Then, I'll head out to check the situation.

I'll go with you.

I can run fast with my Qing Gong.

What about you? Can you fight again because you're good at it?

Enough, just go back and wait inside.

Let go of my hair.

Chuchu.

I thought Mr. Xie was with you.

He went out to find out,...

...but we can't just sit around and wait here, right?

He's good at Qing Gong. So he'll be fine.

This guy is useless.

However, I find something strange.

When he has great Qing Gong,...

...he may not be good at physical fights,...

...but not to the extent of not being able to fight at all, right?

True, I've never seen him using any move.

If he has no experiences in fighting,...

...he won't be able to predict his opponent's next move.

Even if he only depends on running...

...as fast as wind,...

...it's impossible to do it effortlessly like him.

Well, I've only seen him running so far.

What's the reason then?

No idea, he won't tell me even if I ask him.

Mr. Xie is really a mysterious person.

Yes, he's a big fat liar, too.

What are you drawing? -Let me show you.

Is this...

...Duan Jiuniang's Wither Palm?

You got it? I thought I drew it poorly.

Why are you drawing this?

How do you remember all these moves?

I have a very good memory since I was young.

When I saw the duel between you and Duan Jiuniang back then,...

...I already wanted to memorise it.

I've also heard stories about the martial arts world,...

...especially what Yin Pei said.

If martial art skills are lost,...

...it will be pity.

Are you trying to record it?

I'll try my best. I'll draw as much as I can remember.

Perhaps there will be a genius martial artist...

...who gets inspired by these records...

...and passes on these martial arts.

A record in the form of a book will definitely last forever...

...and be referred by the later generations.

Chuchu, your idea is good.

Actually, I don't think much of it.

It's too bad that it's only up to this level...

...based on my ability.

I'm afraid...

...Duan Jiuniang's Wither Palm...

...will be lost.

I only know so little about Wither Palm.

However, I have Wither Palm's energy in my body.

You have recorded the skills down.

It means Duan Jiuniang's Wither Palm...

...is not entirely lost.

I'm just afraid that I can't practise it well...

...and end up humiliating myself.

A'Fei, you must not think that way.

Duan Jiuniang willingly taught you Wither Palm.

That means she acknowledged and chose you.

Besides, you've fought with highly skilled masters.

You're doing well, too.

Where are they? -Master,...

...there's no trace of them even after we searched the mountain.

We're at the foot of Mount Heng.

They must be hiding in the secret tunnel.

Pass my order. Let's head to former address of Mount Heng Sect!

Yes, Master!

Master Yin, you must be hungry.

Have a fruit.

Why are you being nice to me?

You didn't really eat anything throughout the journey.

You'll lose your strength.

Don't worry, this does not contain poison.

I'm not eating.

I'm going to die soon anyway.

So, it doesn't matter if I eat anything.

Wait.

Yes?

Do you know...

...how to unblock meridians?

Go then.

Did you hear anything? -It's the wind, right?

No one's Qing Gong has such a speed.

Master, we still haven't found them.

We still haven't found them after searching the whole day.

A bunch of trash!

A'Fei.

How did it go? -The tunnel leads to many ways.

It has many traps, too,...

...as well as a lot of forks.

Since we're down here, it's hard to know the direction.

Moreover, we don't even have a map.

So it's easy for us to be trapped in here.

What should we do now?

I don't want to stay in this cave forever.

We have no choice but to hide in here for now.

We can only hope that they will leave this place soon.

Ms. Zhou.

Ms. Zhou, I heard those who practise Poxue Skills...

...mature later.

However, your skills are matured.

Did you practise from young?

How many years have you practised?

Before I left, my mother.....

"My mother told me not to reveal too much information."

I didn't practise from a young age.

It's been about two to three years.

Two to three years?

Is it too long?

It's about one to two years.

Unless you used a shortcut and practise dark arts,...

...if it's a spectacular skill,...

...you'd still need a few decades to master it.

You're making progress at an amazing speed.

Cut it out, I know my place.

At my level, I'm just humiliating my sect.

How long have you practised it, A'Fei?

More than half a year.

I have Wither Palm energy.

I can feel it's seeping...

...into every move of Poxue Skills.

We've been facing death throughout the journey.

Our brave Ms. Zhou has been polished by different masters...

...of other sects. It's also a rare opportunity.

You eavesdropped on my conversations.

Why do you want?

The young generation is really awe-inspiring.

Master, the entrance is over there.

Let's see how you're going to escape this time.

When Mount Heng Sect was on the run,...

...they left the secret tunnels open to delay pursuers.

If they don't know these secret tunnels,...

...they won't be able to find this place within a short time.

I think they're beating the gong to scare us.

So, no need to panic.

He's right.

When I was out investigating the surrounding, it's the same.

If I didn't memorise the routes here,...

...it'd have been hard for me to come back here.

It's easier to come in than getting out from here.

We don't know who's going to die here today.

They could've just sneaked into here and attacked us.

Why did they have to beat the gong?

I treat you well!

I've never been stingy with treasure, jewel and fabric!

Whatever it's wealth or women,...

...when have I ever denied you anything?

Why did you take that empty scabbard?

Shanchuan Sword is already broken to pieces! It's worthless!

Come back now...

...and I will let it slide, all right?

Looks like Azure Dragon would stop at nothing...

...to capture you.

...he plotted against countless people...

...to get my father's sword.

Now that it has fallen into my hands,...

...it's taken by his own lapdog.

Tell me. Would he feel good about it?

Don't tell me a dog like you...

...is related to the Yin family!

Stop hiding then.

The Yin family was massacred by my lackeys back then!

Judging by your age, you might just be an illegitimate child!

I hate people calling me an illegitimate child.

Oh, no. I've heard...

...that Azure Dragon has a group of blind people beating the gong.

They can determine what's ahead in the dark...

...by the echo from the sound of the gong. If that's the case,...

...they can back out in time...

...without the need to explore...

...the alleys and traps themselves.

I fear this secret tunnel won't be able to trap them for long.

How long will it take them to find us...

...in this case, Master Ji? -Hard to say.

If what you're saying is true,...

...they'll be here soon enough.

Where are you going? -I'm going to scout around.

If it's safe outside, it'll be better for us to go out.

Relax, if I could scout around 48 Strongholds,...

...Mount Heng's tunnel shouldn't be difficult.

Just wait here, all right?

Why does he always want to go outside?

Ms. Zhou,...

...can you do me a favour?

Do speak.

Azure Dragon...

...must be killed.

Who's there?

Do you call yourself a man for hiding?

Move forward.

If someone else was to train you,...

...they'd make a girl like you choose light weapons...

...such as needles or whip.

Otherwise, they'd make you...

...master the skills of hidden weapon.

As for Qing Gong, as long it's good enough, you can survive.

I really don't know what your elders were thinking...

...for letting you use a saber...

...and even passing down Poxue Skills to you.

Yes,...

...you're not the only one who say I have to put more effort...

...because I'm not physically strong enough.

What else?

Has anyone told you that...

...with your background and looks,...

...you can still have a smooth life...

...without killing and wandering about,...

...despite being arrogant and incompetent?

Unmatched talent and gorgeous looks...

...are rare treasure in the world.

Once these qualities are depended on too much,...

...they'll easily become demons inseparable from you.

Back in those days, it was precisely because...

...I was proud of my talent that I committed such mistake.

Can you just cut to the chase?

All right, remember this.

If anyone tells you this, he or she is harming you.

Don't believe a single word.

You must listen...

...to what I'm going to say next.

Please speak.

They're known as Southern Saber and Northern Saber.

Southern Saber is fierce and the latter is dangerous.

Duanshui Silk Thread is meant for killing...

...while Poxue Skills are the master of all sabers.

Poxue Skills users are similar to lone travellers in snowy night.

They must be extremely strong and persistent...

...to see the way.

In particular, Matchless, Impermanence and Edgeless,...

...may seem mediocre,...

...but many can't master them...

...even after trying a lifetime.

If one can't master these moves, it's a soulless saber...

...even if he or she is skilled in swordsmanship...

...and has powerful internal energy.

Ms. Zhou, I'm worried...

...that all the years of your practice...

...will be for nothing.

Are you saying this...

...just to tell me that I'll be a total failure?

I've checked out the situation.

Azure Dragon left some men out there but it's only a few of them.

Most of them have entered the secret tunnels.

So, it's safer to go out than staying here.

We must go now.

Ms. Zhou, are you going...

...to escape with them...

...or are you willing to take the risk...

...to kill Azure Dragon with me?

If you're willing to stay and join me to kill Azure Dragon,...

...I can pass down Duanshui Silk Thread to you.

You only need to hold Azure Dragon back for me.

I'll take care of the rest.

No!

You're asking a girl to fight one of the Four Gods for you!

No, unless she takes elixir of life from Supreme Lord.

Master Ji, I'm not being rude.

Whatever that is right or wrong is in the past.

What's wrong with enduring it for now?

20 years ago, you're stubborn.

Now you remain stubborn

A'Fei. -I can ignore...

...Mr. Yin's survival.

You only need to watch over Chuchu for me.

You guys should leave first.

You.....

Since you're saying you have your ways,...

...I can stay and help you.

However, I want to make myself clear.

I'm staying to face that mouse.

I'm not interested in learning your moves.

Nor will I be a disciple of another sect.

Southern and Northern Saber go side by side.

For the sake of my maternal grandfather,...

...I shouldn't show you disrespect.

However, I still need to give you a piece of my mind...

...after meeting you.

What's so great about Duanshui Silk Thread?

Yes, Duanshui Silk Thread...

...isn't that great.

I still want to thank you...

...regardless.

Let's seal off the entrance.

Have you found them? -Master.

There's no obstruction on this path. They should be further in.

Good, keep going!

Soul-Seeking Needle?

What did you say?

Ms. Zhou, only my Northern Saber skills...

...can subdue Azure Dragon.

I may look useless now,...

...but my previous strength...

...was sufficient to defeat Azure Dragon.

I'm going to use these needles to exert my previous strength.

However, the moment I start using it,...

...I need to compose myself for a while to for it to work.

I'll need to trouble you to hold Azure Dragon back...

...until my strength returns.

All right.

You look down on Northern Saber's skills.

Can I compete with you with Duanshui Silk Thread?

How do we do that? -I can no longer fight.

Ms. Zhou, do you know a mental duel?

A martial arts duel means a physical fight...

...while a mental duel is exchange moves through meditation.

They will only explain their moves to each other...

...or show body movements without touching each other.

No one will get hurt. So it's a very peaceful fight.

Ms. Zhou,...

...please be seated.

Ms. Zhou, please make three moves with Southern Saber.

I'll take them with Northern Saber's moves.

Please.

Why does A'Fei's condition suddenly change?

That's because A'Fei...

...was cut in half by Duanshui Silk Thread.

The shelter outside can only fool them for a while.

I fear I still need you to lend me a hand in the end.

This place is narrow.

No matter how many are there, it'll be...

...hard for them to swarm in together.

This is our advantage.

Azure Dragon is good at bullying the weak.

Seeing you're a girl, he'll definitely fight you in person.

His internal energy is far more powerful than yours.

You can only rely on matchless swordsmanship.

Later, I'll show you...

...an exceptional murderous move.

During the night,...

...if you can make 20 moves under my attack,...

...Azure Dragon won't be able to do anything to you at the moment.

Again.

Master, there's nothing on the left path.

Master, nothing on the right path.

Master, we didn't find anything, too.

Don't tell me they've disappeared in the cave.

Bring Shun Fengsou over. -Yes, Master.

Why didn't you make a move?

Unless your opponent was far inferior to you,...

...if you failed to take that move, the saber...

...would either slip from your hand or you'd hurt yourself.

Even you could tell?

Master Ji,...

...I was conceited just now.

Please forgive me.

Master Ji, when you said it'd take a while,...

...how long exactly would it be?

Will it be over a meal? 10 minutes...

...or two hours?

If it's two hours, I'll get us a few coffins.

We'll even get better deals. -Stop talking nonsense.

Move aside.

Mr. Xie, it's really hard to say.

It may take between 10 minutes...

...and two hours.

Mr. Xie, are you still trying to change A'Fei's mind?

She's not a very patient person.

If I continue to pester her, she'll start feeling irritated...

...and kick me in her mind.

A'Fei may have a bad temper,...

...but I trust her the most.

Don't say that about her.

If being gentle doesn't work, I'll have to use force.

She'll surely make me pay.

A'Fei.

A'Fei, I need to take Ms. Wu away.

She cannot stay here.

She's not listening to me. Talk to her.

A'Fei, I want to be with you.

I'll stay if you stay.

Ms. Wu, I think you've seen...

...what Mu Xiaoqiao is capable of. -Yes, I've seen him.

I think Azure Dragon is equally powerful, too.

Why? -As one of the Four Gods,...

...it's clear that apart from martial arts...

...he's more cunning than you can ever imagine.

Once he tracks us down,...

...people like us can't handle him.

What will happen once we fall into his hands?

I'm not scaring you but think about it.

Chuchu, leave this place with Xie Yun...

...and leave this matter to Master Ji and me.

I think the hardest thing for a person to do...

...is not necessarily ruling a country...

...but it's about knowing the order of priority.

One should know...

...when to move forward,...

...to not fear death,...

...to be cautious...

...and to lay low.

Act gently when one should be courageous.

Act like a madman when it's time to retreat.

I wonder...

...what kind of unreasonable school of thought that is.

Xie...

...are you talking about me?

I only hope the person I'm targeting...

...will understand my intention.

I also want to go back to practise my skills,...

...but a tyrant like Azure Dragon...

...must be eliminated!

Mr. Xie, you have a unique mindset.

You must be good at using different weapons.

Are you skilled in using swords?

I'm sorry to say that I'm only skilled in one thing,...

...which is escaping.

A single-edged blade is a saber. A double-edged blade is a sword.

A saber gives you courage of a hundred soldiers...

...because the edge is always in front of you.

True as long as it's not against our own neck.

Without this fighting spirit,...

...Duanshui Silk Thread and Poxue Skills...

...would be nothing but heavy tools.

I'm exactly the living proof.

Poxue Skills are capable of splitting mountains and rivers.

Now that the enemy is close...

...and she's ready to fight him. If you talk her out of it,...

...she'll forever remember how weak and timid she is today.

Even if she can live a long life,...

...I'm afraid she can only achieve that much...

...in her skills.

Say no more.

Don't worry, I won't let you die.

If I feared death, I'd have stayed away from you.

Did I say anything wrong?

I think of you as my soulmate,...

...but you think of me as a coward.

Master Ji's Soul-seeking Needle is a risky technique.

I'll cover for you.

Thank.....

Thank you.

I'm counting on you now.

Don't let me down.

It's the Gong Formation.

Ms. Zhou, we're running out of time.

Let's do it again. -All right.

Is A'Fei in trouble?

Actually, if Master Ji didn't lose his skills,...

...A'Fei would still have a chance to fight back.

How so? -She practises various skills.

She's quick-witted when fighting others,...

...which often catches people by surprise.

Mayfly Formation, which she learnt from Master Chongxiaozi...

...has helped the styles she created to be even more powerful.

If she meets Azure Dragon, it'll take time for him to kill her.

The thing is...

...she and Master Ji aren't engaging in real fights.

Does it matter?

For an outsider, a mental match...

...is extremely boring.

It's because you don't know what they're doing.

However, it requires great skills for saber and sword...

...because in a fight, agility, strength, internal energy...

...external energy and even mental state may affect results.

You mean...

...she's engaging in a mental match.

It limits her performance?

Yes.

Master Ji is sitting there...

...while A'Fei can't surround him nor jump around.

So forget about using Mayfly Formation.

She won't be using tricks...

...to face Duanshui Silk Thread.

So, she can only use Poxue Skills...

...to go at him.

This is indeed difficult for her.

Master Ji is the Master of Northern Saber.

Though he lost his skills,...

...his every move is very dangerous.

It can easily...

...trap others at the point of his saber due to his speed.

Will A'Fei succeed...

...in such a short time?

When has she ever let us down?

Master, I've found them.

A'Fei,...

...do you want to rest?

Ms. Zhou, you've completely...

...taken five moves of mine just now.

When the weapons touched just now,...

...I think I've felt the essence of Mountain Move.

Pry the extremely strong with something extremely thin.

Pry the extremely heavy with something extremely subtle.

Although Mountain Move is Poxue Skills' first move,...

...which I've long mastered,...

...I didn't really understand it...

...until I was inspired by Master Ji.

Not bad,...

...you managed to reach such epiphany in such a short time.

You're proven to be the best heroine born under a lucky star...

...with natural talent.

I am thinking...

...the nine forms of Poxue Skills are usually used separately.

Can I...

...use both moves by combining them?

As far as I know, you can only swing...

...in one direction at a time when you're using a saber.

Thus, combining both moves is not possible.

Only a master of these skills...

...can improve these moves.

You're right,...

...but I notice that...

...every time I use a different move,...

...the Wither Palm energy in me...

...seems to be guiding me...

...to understand the meaning of the moves.

The meaning of Master Li's saber is Edgeless...

...while Mistress Li is Matchless.

What about yours?

We're not defined by our saber. It's the other way around.

Northern Saber is like water but a saber can't cut water.

Why should I...

...use brute force...

...only to be defeated...

...and have my Poxue Skills dispelled by Northern Saber?

I'm going to choose Impermanence for my saber.

You're indeed the descendant of Southern Saber.

Ms. Zhou, your understanding of martial arts...

...is extremely high.

Azure Dragon will reach here soon.

Let's not waste time.

All right.

I don't know the purpose of others practising martial arts.

Some people might just want to set up their own schools,...

...while others might challenge others...

...to be the number one fighter.

However, for A'Fei.....

A'Fei has a strong interest in martial art,...

...but not so in becoming number one.

Yes, she's competitive and she desires to excel.

However, her desire to beat others isn't that strong.

This reminds me of Master Wuliu,...

...who always forgets to eat when he discovers something new.

Mr. Xie, you know A'Fei really well.

Oh no,...

...it sounds like they're getting nearer to us.

We'll wait, as they might not find this place.

How long will they need?

It won't be long, based on her ability.

It's just that this place is noisy because of the gong.

It can easily distract her.

I'm not sure if she can endure it.

They seemed to have left.

Looks like we managed to trick them with the fake alley.

Maybe, but they're not easy to fool.

I hope it'll buy us more time.
