More Americans died in that war than in any previous conflict...

due, in part, to a new repeating rifle called the Winchester.

It proved to be a product of man's genius to create

and his capacity to destroy.

After the war, the Winchester went west with the settlers.

It provided protection from the elements
and from the Indians.

The Indians discovered the power of the rifle quickly.

At Little Big Horn, they had repeaters.

Custer didn't.

Two hundred and twenty troopers died because of that power.

One out of every thousand Winchesters was absolutely perfect

in balance, in sighting and in its power to kill.

This is the story of a one-of-a-thousand Winchester.
