Grand Marshal Xu,

the state treasury backing will be there

when the talent is acquired.

Though this matter is extremely important,

extracting magnetic ore is a huge expenditure.

It is vital to control the dynasty’s central sequential reporting to superiors

while waiting for support from the state treasury,

a minimum of five days.

There’s not enough time for that.

Deshun.

Here.

I want you to go back to

request the entire King of Rui’s residential

money reserves

along with the family properties in Jiangnan

all be sold.

This...

This would be losing the family fortunes?

King of Rui, do not be so impetuous.

This matter, how can

it be achieved by you alone?

There’s not enough time, Grand Marshal Xu,

to explain how this matter came to exist and that Great Lan’s safety

can be said to be of equal standing.

Also sell the pleasure boat.

I recall there was a rich businessman some time ago

who openly admired the pleasure boat.

But Your Imperial Highness,

the pleasure boat is gone!!

Gone? What’s this?

Upon leaving the capital two days ago,

Deshun then reported to Your Imperial Highness

that our pleasure boat

was inexplicably missing.

Right away, this humble one returned and came

over to request that Your Imperial Highness

probably shouldn’t send people to go down and investigate.

You--!

I must have been very busy at the time

and under a lot of pressure,

I completely do not remember your

coming over to tell me about this matter.

What an eventual season it’s been.

An official’s pleasure boat

can simply disappear into thin air.

Who has the courage

to do such a thing!

Lately

Li State’s Imperial household

has begun to go against the common people to reclaim ironware.

The common people have suffered unspeakable misery.

I’m afraid the purpose

is to continue to forge the Heavenly Warrior.

It is precisely because of this

I can’t wait any longer at this moment.

Deshun, return and carry this out immediately.

But...

if the King of Rui’s Consort asks about it,

how should I answer?

She should understand.

This humble one will obey.

Is the King of Rui busy?

Li State’s Heavenly Warrior

is nothing significant.

It’s a pile of scrap iron, nothing more!

That’s right! Exactly!

Sure!

Be seated, sit!

Grand Marshal Xu, you enjoy your meal.

I’ll go scout around the area.

Okay.

Eat up, I”m going to the toilet.

Your Imperial Highness, I trust you’ve been well since last we met.

Sure enough, it’s you!

It appears you are as interested in me

as I am in you.

I had thought

you would not come to see me.

You haven’t left Great Lan!

Time and distance are

not a problem for us.

You know this better than anyone else.

You finally want to do something demonic?

I have arrived to take a look at this Great Lan State’s

progress in war preparation.

But if I may offer a word of advice,

don’t waste your efforts.

In addition to the Heavenly Warrior,

we also have a great many

unexpected actions.

At that time, they will provide a pleasant surprise.

I along with my Imperial Brother

probably won’t let you get away with it.

Your Imperial Highness, you’re very kindhearted.

You really seem to think

your love as brothers is more solid than gold.

If your Imperial Brother

knew you came to see me privately,

what do you think?

You deliberately brought me here!

It’s too late.

What should happen has happened,

the war has already begun.

This will be Lan State’s

most miserable winter!

Reporting!

- Reporting to the King of Rui, - What is it?

bad news!

There’s a report from the palace that

Her Highness the Empress,

Her Highness the Empress has died!

What!

Her Highness Imperial Concubine Lian is the criminal suspect!

His Majesty requests the King of Rui with all speed return to the palace.

Impossible!

Grand Marshal Xu, I’m leaving this with you here!

Deshun, we’re going back to the palace!

Yes.

Here.

This southern climate

is very distinctive.

All the women are exquisite

and so tender.

One thing leads to another,

northern and southern both have their advantages.

Old Xiao sure knows how to enjoy things!

Just look at this pleasure boat!

The beautiful lake and mountain landscape came together to create beautiful women.

to cause one to forget to go home!

Ten days, just ten days, that’s all.

I already feel more rested,

and much more graceful than before!

Yang Lida,

my body,

isn’t it a bit better

than those of the Xiao Brothers?

Young Lord,

you were so like them

in the past.

Young Lord is a northern man!

People say the northerners are cruel,

but the Young Lord seemingly is

very gentle and tender!

I am always gentle and tender to women,

as a man should be!

Certainly not so courteous!

Young Lord,

there seems to be an official guard outside.

It’s been ten whole days since

this ship was stolen!

Lan State’s efficiency

has indeed disappointed me!

Who aboard this vessel

has the impertinence to take the personal property of

the King of Rui, his pleasure boat?

Young Lord,

what should we do now?

Ten days...

I’m so lonely!

Kill all of them,

I don’t want to see any useless people!

Yes.

Also,

leave one alive with a mouth

to go back and let the Xiaos know

I never left,

I have absolutely no intentions of leaving!

Yes.

Now all of you beautiful women,

don’t be afraid,

I will protect you.

Singers and dancers,

keep playing for me.

This Yang Zhi sticks to his views

until one’s shell-like ears fall down!

Is Nie Wushuang exhorting him to cast them aside?

Li State’s secret agent’s rank

is as Nie Wushuang’s,

neither has given birth.

This time with Miao Minghu,

he will place righteousness before his family.

and hand it over to ruin.

I’ll watch Nie Wushuang this time

be unable to reverse the rotation of the sky.

See, Yang Zhi is that sort of person,

best bought with a bribe.

It’s simple enough,

just give him what he wants,

let him work in the palace.

However,

His Majesty really does trust Nie Wushuang,

I’m afraid it will be difficult in just one day

to dissolve it.

Nie Wushuang

already is locked up in the Court of Judicial Review.

His Majesty gave an order to assign the King of Rui to return by morning.

I’m just afraid if that King of Rui comes back,

he may reverse the whole situation.

Unless between the two brothers

there exists some suspicion?

Your Highness.

Jiao Tong soon will return

with the person who has the information, Your Highness

This morning,

Yang Zhi hastily

went and met someone by himself.

Could it be my Imperial Brother

is not only inside this palace but also responding internally?

Not just that,

Yun’an merely on one hand

has one little court eunuch

“Ci Kuan”?

I have not heard anything about this.

Your Highness, it doesn’t matter who he is,

the important thing is

to give Yang Zhi your confidence

as his life is in your guarantee.

And if Yang Zhi dies afterwards,

this letter can then conveniently be turned over to His Majesty.

Then it probably won’t be written in this sealed letter that

Nie Wushuang is Li State’s secret agent?

Always make use of Yang Zhi to handle things.

Yang Zhi’s death

will certainly be related to Nie Wushuang.

Your Highness is a wise sage,

this Yang Zhi is a cunning and sly old fox,.

you mustn’t despite him.

He also plans to

retire after everything is complete.

Take his Ci Kuan, return back home and use it all in his later years.

How to think of it?

In the end,

the fact is, it’s the same as my changing clothes.

Why should I be worried about the method to use

to get Your Majesty to face Nie Wushuang

and completely lose all trust.

It’s all good now!

Yang Zhi,Yang Zhi...

you are clever,

but mistaken in your cleverness.

Originally, I thought I would use you

and keep using you your entire tiny life.

But now,

your death is a full return on investment to me,

and of the greatest assistance.

Jiao Tong understands.

In addition,

you should substitute for Concubine Shu and report to the

Court of Judicial Review, and Her Highness Imperial Concubine Lian

will suffer even more.

With her frail light body,

I’m afraid

holding up in such a place with such a heavy injustice will blot out the sun,

not so easily done.

However, bear in mind that merely tortured,

she spoke about

that Qin person’s whereabouts before.

Send me a message if she manages to survive.

Yes.

Child,

where did you go?

Mother will do whatever it takes

to bring you back at all costs.

Nie Wushuang,

this time,

I cannot in any way let you off.

Guards! Guards!

Guards!

What’s this noise!

Her Highness Imperial Concubine Lian is ill!

Quick, call for the Imperial Physician!

Imperial Physician?

This here is the Court of Judicial Review’s prison cells,

locked up by the Emperor himself for offenses!

Coming in here, you must trust to the Will of Heaven!

Come, come, come!

You should think about this clearly.

Though we’re locked up,

still His Majesty dotes the most on

Her Highness Imperial Concubine Lian!

It’s just that in case she has an

unexpected misfortune,

won’t you carry the blame?

Her Highness Imperial Concubine Lian?

That favorite of

His Majesty, buried with him, Her Highness Imperial Concubine Lian?

That’s old news.

Little maid, don’t be so naive.

Come on, continue, come come!

This fever isn’t going away.

Elder Sister, how can I help you?

I’ll be okay.

Elder Sister, you must hold on!

As soon as the King of Rui gets back,

he will come to save us!

Xia Lan...

find a way to inform the King of Rui’s Consort

that the King of Rui is coming back.

Don’t let him ever come to save me.

Never let him come to the Court of Judicial Review.

His Majesty does not trust me,

but my older brother and the King of Rui

are necessary for Great Lan to survive.

It seems like His Majesty is also suspicious of the King of Rui,

which is entirely unthinkable.

Elder Sister, it’s this time already.

His Majesty toward you

still thinks you want to use his state power and country?

You probably won’t understand.

In order to rule the realm,

His Majesty in addition to the King of Rui

both cannot entirely be involved in this matter.

Can we get a glass of water?

Water?

Please get me a glass of water.

Elder Sister.

High, high, hight! Low, low, low!

Here, here, here, give me that!

Respectfully greeting Your Imperial Highness!

The sounds of your betting

inside the Court of Judicial Review can be heard from the outside.

This humble one knows their fault.

I wish to meet with Her Highness Imperial Concubine Lian.

Your Imperial Highness, His Majesty gave an Imperial decree--

You want me to wait

while you gamble

to inform His Majesty?

This humble one dares not!

I dare not!

Your Imperial Highness, please.

Put all of that away!

Hurry up! Get this put away!

Elder Sister, look who is here!

Your HIghness Imperial Concubine Lian.

Qingyuan….

Yes, Your Imperial Highness Yun’an...

Your Highness has met with misfortune this time.

I’m here right now because of Imperial Mother’s way of handling this matter.

and as a result, I could not return in time to change it.

How about--?

This is Wushuang’s destiny...

and Your Imperial Highness has no part in it.

Ci Kuan, you may withdraw now.

Yes.

Your Highness,

here are a few pastries.

In addition,

this bottle of medicine for Her Highness, hide it in your clothing.

Okay.

Take this cloak.

Thank you, Your Imperial Highness Yun’an.

I would rather Your Highness

fondly call me “Qingyuan”.

In the past, Your Highness rescued me,

now that Your Highness has fallen into dire straits,

how can I abandon you?

Elder Sister, you should take the medicine now.

Eunuch,

I am here to assist His Imperial Highness Yun’an

in his visit to Her Highness Imperial Concubine Lian.

Have you received...the letter I sent you?

I have it hidden away.

Eunuch,

what is written within it?

I would rather you never open it

your entire life!

Eunuch,

I brought you some snacks.

Third Elder Brother, how can he be so muddled!

The so-called authorities are bewildered,

and after all is said and done, His Majesty

soon will receive

several blows in succession.

It’s already too much for one man to bear.

We all do not believe

that Imperial Concubine Lian attacked the Empress Dowager and Empress.

Right now,

the human testimony and evidence

are very detrimental to her.

I personally went down to the Court of Judicial Review

to visit Imperial Concubine Lian,

she is now seriously ill.

Fortunately, she has Xia Lan to accompany her.

I’m going to Third Elder Brother and

the Court of Judicial Review!

Imperial Concubine Lian, how can she endure this?

- Fifth Elder Brother! - King of Rui!

You don’t even know

if today Imperial Elder Brother is in his study

or if he’s angry!

We’ll get the King of Rui’s Consort to go with you.

I’m worried you’ll be impetuous

and spoil it in a major way!

Your Highness Imperial Concubine Yun is carrying an Imperial heir,

and very trusted by Imperial Brother.

Your Highness, what is your opinion on this matter?

My opinion is that

His Majesty toward Imperial Concubine Lian

is not without the slightest bit of affection.

It’s just now that the evidence is conclusive

and not easily overturned.

His Majesty has no way out of an embarrassing situation.

What we want to do is

provide him with a way out.

If there is one,

His Majesty’s trust in people

follows closely explaining these matters of

vital interest.

Because the King of Rui tends to appease him,

I believe this matter may not be without a turnaround.

Also,

so long as you inform Imperial Elder Brother

Imperial Concubine Lian has fallen ill at the Court of Judicial Review,

it is likely you will receive a command to go medically treat this person.

It will prove he has relented.

When I left the Court of Judicial Review,

I saw Imperial Concubine Lian along with Xia Lan for a moment,

they looked particularly wan and sallow.

If Imperial Brother finds out the details of the situation,

it’s unlikely he will be so callous.

Not like that.

It’s easy for Your Imperial Highness Yun’an

to go inform His Majesty

that Her Highness Imperial Concubine Lian has fallen ill.

Then I will go again to the Court of Judicial Review

to take her something,

while talking about how serious the patient’s condition really is.

Even if His Majesty is feeling hard-hearted,

he surely won’t be able to bear it.

At least

he might possibly allow moving Imperial Concubine

Lian from the Court of Judicial Review

back into Yuanxiu Palace.

King of Rui’s Consort, I believe, indeed must assist you.

Just rely on yourself first.

First, I have to get past the attendants,

I personally have to get into the Imperial study.

Elder Sister, do you feel any better?

I feel better.

Fortunately His Imperial Highness Yun’an left behind this medicine,

along with those.

I really don’t know what to do with them.

You should rest now.

I’m here right beside you.

Your Majesty,

the weather is getting cooler.

Drink this cup of hot tea to warm up your body.

This is

you, coming all this way to deliver this?

You’re imminently facing childbirth,

isn’t taking care of yourself most important?

Watching Your Majesty every day grow thinner,

this female subject regrets that I myself

cannot substitute for Your Majesty in your tribulations.

All of you...

every one of you looks

quite miserable.

Speak up.

Have you or have you not come to ask for

leniency on behalf of Imperial Concubine Lian?

Imperial Elder Brother,

Yunle is convinced of Imperial Concubine Lian’s character!

She is absolutely unlikely to do harm to my Imperial sister-in-law!

These past few days,

I don’t know how many things I have heard.

But the evidence is all here,

you tell me what I should do!

The so-called “physical evidence”

can be easily made up by buying off

a few people in the palace!

This sort of wrongful accusation,

Imperial Concubine Lian has already suffered this before!

Yunle absolutely will not allow

this sort of matter happen again--!

Imperial Brother,

even if at the same time the murder was occuring

the culprit was coming out of Imperial sister-in-law’s,

can it be requested Her Highness Imperial Concubine Lian

be now be released and come out of prison?

I’ll arrange it once again.

Even though the weather outside is bitterly cold,

inside the prison it is even more gloomy and cold!

When your subject younger brother paid a visit

to Her Highness Imperial Concubine Lian,

she had a fever that would not decline!

The situation is particularly critical!

Why has no one told me?

Your Majesty,

people in the palace act pragmatically.

Now that Imperial Concubine Lian has been sent to prison,

jailers will hit her when she’s down.

It’s natural no one has come forward.

This female subject understands.

Your Majesty waited for the King of Rui to come back

to make a decision after finding out the truth.

But this female subject is concerned

that if not treated in time,

Imperial Concubine Lian cannot wait another day.

Order the Imperial Medical Bureau to dispatch

people to the Court of Judicial Review.

Imperial Brother,

your subject younger brother already sought out the King of Rui’s Consort

to hurry to the Court of Judicial Review.

May Imperial Brother forgive this subject younger brother for “decapitating

first, asking permission later”. (T/N acting without an order)

Reporting to Your Majesty.

Speak.

Just received from the Court of Judicial Review jailer a report.

Yang Zhi

has died in prison from being poisoned!

Yang Zhi is dead?

Yes.

This humble one is wondering whether

Yang Zhi committed suicide

to avoid punishment?

Dispatch men to investigate.

Yes.

Imperial Elder Brother, as matters now stand,

it’s again not clear

whether Yang Zhi was unable to endure or if a matter was exposed

implicating numerous more people!

Transmit my Imperial decree,

invite Her Highness Imperial Concubine Lian to my Imperial study

to appear before me.

I accept the Imperial command.

- This official’s wife... - Wushuang

respectfully greets Your Majesty.

You may rise and speak.

Yes, Your Majesty.

Reporting to Your Majesty,

this official’s wife has already taken action in

checking Her Highness Imperial Concubine Lian’s

circulation.

Her Highness Imperial Concubine Lian’s state of her illness has been aggravated

and the condition of her pulse is weak.

This requires a great deal of rest.

It can’t be shortened,

it’s due to staying too long in a cold and humid place.

Nie Wushuang,

have you never really seen

that pair of earrings?

Wushuang does not know what to say.

I would not dare deceive Your Majesty.

Then Yang Zhi’s death,

you’re hardly familiar with the situation?

What do you want to tell me?

Wushuang has been wrongly accused, but it’s nothing.

But I don’t want to see the real murderer

at ease in the palace.

Deceiving the wise

would truly make Wushuang damned.

If I can set Your Majesty’s mind at ease,

and keep Great Lan peaceful,

Wushuang would rather die.

Reporting to Your Majesty,

Mingyue Palace’s Ci Kuan seeks to appear before you.

Also,

Court of Judicial Review’s jailer has already investigated

Yang Zhi’s cause of death.

Imperial Brother,

Ci Kuan is Yun’an’s right hand man.

What are you doing here?

Your Majesty

This humble one has come here today

regarding Eunuch Yang Zhi’s death.

This humble one had barely entered the palace before

Yuanxiu Palace’s attendant Eunuch Yang Zhi

treated this humble one with great consideration.

Then one day,

Eunuch Yang suddenly provided this humble one

with a sealed letter.

Told me

that if something unexpected were to happen to him,

afterwards I should bring this sealed letter to Your Majesty

to inform Your Majesty

that Her Highness Imperial Concubine Lian was under a vicious attack.

This humble one is grateful

to be here on behalf of Eunuch Yang,

and have safeguarded this letter.

When this humble one became aware

of Eunuch Yang’s passing,

then it became necessary to use this sealed letter

to report to Your Majesty.

Have you read this letter?

This humble one vows he has not peeked!

Drag him out now.

Your Majesty, spare my life!

This humble one doesn’t know anything!

Your Majesty!

Speak. What else did you find?

Informing Your Majesty, this humble one has already ascertained

Eunuch Yang Zhi had eaten pastries before

dying from poisoning.

Imperial Physician Jing examined

the pastries, inside

was a great deal of “he ding hong”. (T/N another name for white arsenic)

This humble one while still in the prison

found in the middle of Her Highness Imperial Concubine Lian prison cell

and examined exactly the same kind of pastries.

That’s impossible!

Those pastries were from me,

delivered to Her Highness Imperial Concubine Lian as a gift!

How could they appear in Yang Zhi’s place?

How could they be poisonous!

Nie Wushuang...

why won’t you say a word

from start to finish?

Could it be

because you can’t think of any way

to explain all of this?

Because Wushuang

already knew of the existence of this letter.

You know about it now.

Didn’t you also say before

that you knew about the whole thing to me?

Early on, I saw through

Yang Zhi’s ability at the time,

he felt threatened.

I never thought

Yang Zhi would die unexpectedly.

I didn’t expect that

between you and I,

that we’d break up this way!

- Your Majesty! - Imperial Brother!

- Imperial Elder Brother! - Your Majesty!

It appears that Your Majesty has no confidence in Wushuang.

Wushuang would rather die.

Imperial Brother, reconsider!

Fifth Younger Brother!

Imperial Brother,

this letter may be from Yang Zhi,

but it’s to unjustly trap Imperial Concubine Lian in their evil schemes.

If Imperial Concubine Lian

really wanted to kill Yang Zhi to keep him from divulging a secret,

she probably would not be so stupid

as to leave such important evidence.

Fifth Younger Brother,

this matter concerns the safety of Lan State,

it’s government and military secrets!

It really isn’t as simple as the harem striving for favor,

I’m not willing to gamble.

I would rather mistakenly kill an Imperial concubine!

I’m not letting a secret agent go.

If Imperial Concubine Lian really is the secret agent,

wouldn’t she have let the epidemic run wild

instead of saving Lan State’s common people, going through fire and water?

Why is she again in the middle of this?

During Imperial Brother’s time of suspended animation,

she was buried along with Your Majesty!

In this world, how can there

ever be such a foolish secret agent?

This subject younger brother believes

this is quite possible...

that Li State’s conspiracy

seems currently

to take Imperial Concubine Lian

down as Gao Yang’s chess piece.

Then it’s vital we ourselves

carefully take advantage

of checkmating Li State, and make known and remove

the secret agents in Lan State!

Then what?

Then give the order to clear Imperial Concubine

Lian’s character before it’s too late!

These are your true thoughts,

aren’t they selfish?

Third Eldest Brother,

this subject younger brother wouldn’t dare.

I am also unlikely

to treat Lan State’s political affairs so lightly.

Investigate and find out the real truth,

if Imperial Concubine Lian really is the secret agent...

I’ll bring her back myself,

I’ll kill her myself!

Reporting!

Your Majesty, bad news!

Speak.

A squadron of the new army’s cavalry

was discovered murdered on the King of Rui’s pleasure boat!

Your Majesty,

this subordinate located it on the river,

and went to see if it was the King of Rui’s pleasure boat,

brought along a group of men to examine it.

Didn’t expect

to have to make a narrow escape to be able to come here,

all the rest were killed!

Who was on that pleasure boat?

That pleasure boat had a squadron of Li State soldiers...

and….and furthermore..

And who!

..and Li Monarch Gao Yang!

How is that possible?

Li Monarch Gao Yang, how can he be

aboard your pleasure boat?

This subject younger brother was rushing to build a magnet.

I had no time for getting involved in domestic matters.

I heard yesterday

that my decorated pleasure boat had been stolen.

Please forgive me, Your Majesty!

This humble one indeed was not timely in

reporting to His Imperial Highness King of Rui!

The King of Rui had already sold it off

in order to develop the magnet,

along with half of the King of Rui’s mansion’s treasury.

The King of Rui is truly devoted to Your Majesty,

a family relationship shown to the heavens and earth!

Such a nice relationship to show the heavens and earth...

Xiao Fengqing!

Tell me honestly,

Empress Dowager, followed by the Empress

when we get to the bottom of this,

did you together with Imperial Concubine Lian cause their untimely deaths?

Your Majesty.

Thank you, Your Majesty for letting me appear before you along with Yun’an

right away as time is very precious.

Your Majesty requites evil with good,

this old woman...

- Imperial Mother! - Imperial Mother!

Your Majesty!

Don’t abandon your daughter Yunle and leave me by myself!

Imperial Mother, you must wake up!

Go and get me some wine.

I want to drink together with the Empress.

Your Majesty.

Go.

Yes.

It’s been some time

since you requested Ziyan

be sent back to be by your side.

This female subject is not only unable to

assist Your Majesty in carrying your burdens,

but unexpected has increased

Your Majesty’s many troubles.

Zitong, rest assured.

No matter how many or what kind,

Ziyan is our Imperial son.

Imperial Mother is unlikely to use him

to deal with me.

That is so.

This maidservant respectfully greets Your Majesty.

Eldest Prince, how is he today?

He just fell asleep now.

Her Highness Imperial Concubine Yun together with the King of Rui’s Consort

did not dare to inform the Eldest Prince of the facts,

They deceived the child for fear His Highness

would go out and do something with a rash

and might be contagious.

Happened outside the palace.

Eldest Prince has now become

no longer fond of news,

other than asking where his Imperial Mother is.

Other than that, he says nothing.

Take good care of him.

You may withdraw.

Yes.

You may withdraw.

I just want a few small cups of wine with my Empress.

This female subject just wishes to do her best,

play her part as Empress,

and to be able to share Your Majesty’s tribulations.

It is this female subject’s good fortune.

Empress?

Zhaoyi Nie’s back is scarred!

Zhaoyi Nie has had her back exposed

and furthermore has no scars.

Your Majesty,

wine can damage your body, and even more so break your heart.

Do not drink any more.

Zitong is worried.

Zitong, keep me company in drinking another cup.

Zitong.

May Your Majesty not be in a rush to get better.

In coming days, this female subject will depend on you for support,

as well as all of Great Lan’s common people

who also depend on you for support.

Zitong...

Zitong, wake up!

Wake up!

Zitong, don’t close your eyes!

Zitong!

It’s just that the people’s hearts

have been entrusted to them for life.

Zitong?

Zitong!

Do you have the ability to find your way back home...

Zitong, don’t go!

Zitong, you mustn’t leave me!

Don’t leave me!

Your Majesty,

this female subject must trouble Your Majesty.

Recently, this female subject

always has been dreaming of my baiojie. (T/N older maternal line female cousin)

You’re dreaming of Zitong?

What has she said to you?

My baiojie is resting peacefully, Your Majesty.

Asking this female subject to take good care of Your Majesty.

It seems Your Majesty is determined to finish this wine,

and only then may you let this go.

Fuxiang wishes to take the place of Your Majesty in drinking.

Fuxiang implores Your Majesty

to take care of your Imperial body.

Now, Lan State is facing a powerful enemy,

and the harem has no owner (no Empress).

But this country cannot be without it’s ruler.

This female subject is fully aware

Your Majesty’s heart is cold.

This female subject is always clumsy,

not knowing how to ask Your Majesty for your favor.

Now, Your Majesty suffers lonely, bitter hardship,

and is afraid nobody can rival this female subject, I understand this.

For those of us in the harem,

what we lost

was the Empress Dowager along with the Empress.

But This female subject has come to tell you

that the loss

even though from childhood on,

Fuxiang dearly loved her maternal aunt

and her biaojie.

It seems the lonely hardship

is not limited to myself.

King of Rui together with Imperial Concubine Lian

have grieved Your Majesty in this way,

yet Your Majesty mustn’t forget

the Xu Family.

We of the Xu Family

are eternally unlikely to let down Great Lan

or betray Your Majesty.

Even if all concubines in the harem

leave Your Majesty’s side,

Fuxiang will

stay with Your Majesty forever.
