Princess, where did you go?

When Empress Dowager came over

and did not find you,

she sent out all the guards

to search for you.

Princess, don’t be like this!

Princess, don’t write it.

Princess, don’t write it.

When I write it 10,000 times

Eldest Brother Miao will forget me.

When I write it 100,000 times

I will forget him too.

Royal Highness! Royal Highness! Royal...

Royal Highness.

What is the result of the investigation?

Those little eunuchs

have very hard mouths.

Deshun has made them

suffer a bit

but they still insisted that they

know nothing.

According to this humble one’s investigation,

none of them came from Yi Palace

and they are not serving in the same palace together.

What about the day of the incident?

They were all temporarily transferred.

The more they want to be cleared of suspicion,

the more deliberate it seems.

But

Deshun has found something

interesting on

an eunuch named Xiao Chengzi.

Embroidery is not bad.

It seems to stem from a girl’s hands.

I cannot believe that my Deshun

has become so romantic now.

Royal Highness, you shouldn’t say that.

Deshun had never a guilty conscience

towards Royal Highness.

Guilty conscience about what?

I was thinking

that since you have been with me for so many years,

you should get

a bit of the essence of my craft.

You are indeed smart.

Royal Highness,

What should we

do next then?

Someone

will be exposed soon.

Let’s go.

Imperial Physician Du,

did you hear any noise

coming from this box?

What sound could there be?

Could there be a rat hiding

in that box?

A rat?

I… I am afraid of rats.

Can Imperial Physician Du check it yourself?

Scared me to death!

Imperial Physician Du! Imperial Physician Du!

No one can enter without King of Rui’s order.

Royal Highness!

- Imperial Physician Du! - Royal Highness!

You cannot enter!

Royal Highness, Imperial Physician Du requests and audience,

saying there is a gift for you.

And I was wondering why

was it so noisy outside.

Which Imperial Physician Du?

Old one or the young one?

Young one.

This woman

knows how to perster this king.

Let her in.

Yes.

Imperial Physician Du has arrived.

Come,

add a pair of chopsticks for me.

Add it.

Yes.

I heard Imperial Physician Du

has a gift for me.

King of Rui is so impatient.

Can’t you wait until

I have had my breakfast?

Seeing how calm and collected

Imperial Physician Du is,

I guess this gift

must be very important for me.

It is connected to the person King of Rui misses most.

But during this time,

King of Rui can send someone to the palace

to invite Zhaoyi Nie over.

I am afraid she will be more interested in it than King of Rui.

Is it appropriate for His Majesty’s zhaoyi to go in and out

King of Rui’s mansion?

It depends on whether

she is willing to take the risk.

Imperial Physician Du has actually

aroused my curiosity.

Come,

change some dishes for this

imperial physician.

Shrimps with scallions, lion’s head (a type of meatballs),

steamed fragrant lotus and chicken.

Du Ruo, you do know

this is King of Rui’s mansion

and not a restaurant?

Does King of Rui want to redress Zhaoyi Nie’s grievance?

Prepare them!

Yes.

Hurry and invite Zhaoyi Nie over.

I do not want to say the same thing twice.

Her Majesty told me

to put the blissful powder

into Zhaoyi Nie’s cabinet

and pretend that we just found the evidence.

Afterwards,

she made this maidservant

and Xiao Changzi leave

but this maidservant was too scared

that Xiao Changzi will be found out

so she secretly ran out.

Dong'er!

It was all this humble one’s

doing.

It has nothing to do with Dong’er.

I ask King of Rui and Zhaoyi Nie

to let Dong'er off.

You are actually infatuated.

Deshun.

Present.

Take them away for now.

Yes.

Rise.

I really want to thank Imperial Physician Du

for clearing Wushuang’s grievances.

Zhaoyi Nie, do not thank me.

This blissful powder

was taken from Imperial Medical Bureau.

Imperial Medical Bureau was therefore responsible for it.

The humble official was only carrying out duties.

Zhaoyi Nie also does not need to

pay me back.

It seems that Imperial Physician Du helped Wushuang

only to keep

Royal Highness King of Rui’s face.

Heavens let me

find the runaway Dong'er,

because they wanted me

to expose this matter.

It was all arranged by Heavens.

It is not connected to anyone.

I have never imagined that the person who drugged the wine

was actually the Imperial Sister-in-law.

The unexpected truth

is often not what everyone expects.

How is King of Rui

going to deal with this matter?

Since there are two witnesses,

I have to report

to my Imperial Brother immediately.

You cannot.

it will be too much

of a blow to

His Majesty, Yunle and the Six Palaces

when the whole thing is exposed.

It will be as adding snow and frost (making things worse)

without the slightest benefit.

Even if we find out the truth,

will we be able to restore

Princess Yunle’s innocence?

Are you going to live with this crime

for the rest of your life?

Why do you want Princess

to hate you for a lifetime?

Is it worth it to sacrifice this much?

Empress did that

in order to help His majesty

to stabilize the government.

If Miao Minghu does not become the imperial son-in-law,

he can stay in the new army

His Majesty will be able to develop the new policies

And Empress Dowager is empress’ aunt.

Empress may feel

more guilty about it than anyone else.

I implore King of Rui and Imperial Physician Du

to never mention this matter to the emperor.

Because emperor

is empress’ everything.

What is your everything then?

Is everything you do,

every grievance,

every sacrifice

for imperial brother?

Yes.

Zhaoyi Nie

is truly paying attention to the interests of the whole.

Then, may Zhaoyi Nie tell me

how should I proceed

with the two witnesses?

Take out of the palace when it will get dark.

What kind of justice is that?

I am going to speak to the emperor myself.

King of Rui’s decision

should be Imperial Physician Du’s decision as well.

Du Ruo, just use your medicine cart

to send those two out of the palace overnight.

Let them go far away

and never go back to this cage.

This was sent

by the guard at the gate of the palace this morning.

Nie Wushuang?

Why did she send Dong'er out of the palace?

Could it be that they gathered the evidence?

Are there any news about

King of Rui’s interrogation?

I heard that many eunuchs

have been already released.

Only Xiao Changzi seems to be missing,

but His Majesty did not mention it.

Nie Wushuang...

are you going to confess

this crime for me?

Xue Mingyi,

have you moved half of the general’s mansion

into Shangyuan Palace?

Princess is golden branches and jade leaves. (descendant of imperial lineage)

This old subject has come to propose a marriage alliance.

It is only natural to show sincerity.

This old subject

has come today to thank Empress Dowager

that my son Xue Bi

was released from the prison.

Tearing a little bit of his flesh and blood...

How could that dispel my anger?

Whatever Empress Dowager orders,

this old subject is willing to fulfil.

You do not have to be loyal to me.

Empress Dowager is capable and virtuous.

When the Late Emperor was still alive,

you were his right-hand man.

Late Emperor

did not want me to know about many things

but he did not hide it from you.

This old subject is slow-witted.

I ask Empress Dowager to speak clearly.

Since the rice is cooked already, (since the matter is over)

I can excuse

you and your son from the crime.

I can also marry Princess Yunle

to Xue Bi

but I want to exchange this marriage

to the truth from you.

The subject will speak without reserve.

This matter has been

buried in my heart for many years.

It has been pestering me ever since.

When Yunle was born,

I clearly heard

the crying of two children.

Why was there only one child left

after I woke up?

I want to know

the whereabouts of that child.

Empress Dowager has indeed

bore two children that year.

Unfortunately, the imperial prince’s life

was so feeble

that he perished soon after.

Do you dare to swear that you and the Late Emperor

did not lie to me?

Subject dares not tell lies.

If this subject has deceived Empress Dowager

on this matter,

may the Xue Family die sonless

and all of its members may not be allowed to die a natural death.

Push.

Push, Imperial Concubine

Imperial Concubine, push harder.

Push, Imperial Concubine.

Exert all your strength, Imperial Concubine.

Push harder!

Hurry!

It looks like there are twins,

Quick! Call the Imperial Physician!

Subject Xue Mingyi takes an oath here

that if he is unfaithful to Your Majesty in the future,

his Xue Family will die sonless,

it will be deprived of its home and none of the members will die a natural death.

Pass my decree.

Go to Concubine Jing’ palace. (Concubine Jing

- former address of the Empress Dowager Wang)

If Concubine Jing gives birth

to a Princess,

then it will be my happiness

and princess’ happiness.

I want them to be safe and happy all their lives.

if she gives birth

to a prince and a princess,

then princess can stay in the palace

and the prince will be sent out of the palace.

I want him to stay away from the battles in the palace.

And if there are

two princes born,

princes and Concubine Jing must not coexist.

Their mother will have to be wronged.

Your Majesty, this...

How about letting Concubine Jing

see the child?

After all, she is the biological mother.

You do not have to persuade me.

I am very clear about this matter.

I would never do this if it weren’t for

Fei Jing’s aggressiveness.

By her character,

if she gives birth to a prince,

she will help him ascend the throne

by hook or by crook.

Moreover, Fengqing and Fengming

are already an eyesore for her,

true thorns in her flesh.

It is the only way

to save them both.

I have to send prince born by Concubine Jing

out of the palace

or I may lose

my both imperial sons.

Only this way

I will be able to preserve my blood.

Subject understands. Your Majesty, please rest assured.

Subject will definitely fulfill the task

without leaking it

to anyone else.

But

does Your Majesty not want

to meet the little prince?

No.

I am afraid I won’t be able to

act ruthless if I see him.

Take this tablet.

Seeing this tablet is like seeing me.

Yes.

Little princess cries so loudly.

The little prince is quiet.

Yes.

Commander-in-chief,

this is Imperial Concubine Jing’s delivery room.

Men are not allowed to enter here at will.

His Majesty is busy with government affairs.

He cannot free himself from it.

Therefore, this general

has come to visit Imperial Concubine Jing.

Imperial Concubine Jing and children are safe.

She has given birth to twins, a dragon and phoenix.

Bring them here and show them to me.

I have to report to His majesty that I have completed the task.

Come.

why is the imperial prince out of breath?

How do you protect the imperial heir?

The little prince is definitely fine.

Yes.

Imperial son died.

Everyone in this room

is incompetent.

Execute them all!

General, spare our lives!

Spare our lives...

This secret

will be my Xue Family’s

last protective chip.

Enough, have I not said already?

the prince is dead.

Impossible.

Your Majesty,

this female servant clearly heard

prince crying.

I understand that your heart is very uncomfortable,

but this is the truth.

No, Your Majesty.

here is obviously nothing wrong with the Princess.

Prince must also be fine then.

Your Majesty, tell this female servant.

Did you perhaps

hide the prince

from me?

Concubine Jing, did I not say it already?

Prince is dead.

Don’t you believe me?

Do you want to

fight with me on this matter?

Your Majesty,

why should this female servant

be treated so cruelly?

Have you perhaps discarded of something

that belongs to this female servant with one brush?

Are you talking about the instalment? (making her an empress)

My Wang Family

fought a bloody battle for Lan State

and built its career on meritorious services.

Originally, Your Majesty promised this female servant

that when she gets pregnant with a prince,

you will elevate this female servant to the position of the empress.

Why did Your Majesty change so much

and got confused after meeting

that Ji Rousang?

If it weren’t for her,

this female servant would have been

in charge of the six palaces already as the

paragon of the motherhood for the whole world!

Enough, don’t talk about it anymore.

Don’t ever talk about it again.

Concubine Jing, just think of it

as your punishment meted out by heavens.

You have done so many

things that are against reason and nature

for your own selfish desires.

Don’t you know it in your heart?

You want to become the empress.

What makes you think you are the paragon of the motherhood?

Your Majesty,

if you want to punish someone, punish this female servant.

The prince is innocent.

He is your own flesh and blood,

Your Majesty!

Concubine Jing, if I were you,

I would accept this fact

and take good care of Fengming.

He will be

your only son in the future.

No one will take him away.

In the future, Fengming

will be the Great Lan’s emperor.

You will become Empress Dowager

If you cling obstinately to your own course, (if you do things your way)

I am afraid you won’t be even

able to marry me.

If you keep acting like that,

it will probably be so.

No, Your Majesty!

This female servant is begging you.

Let me see my prince.

- I am begging you. - Enough!

It is useless to talk now.

Let’s put it off till you have recovered.

Your Majesty! Your Majesty! Your Majesty!

Empress Dowager, the medicine for calming the heart has arrived.

The Late Emperor was always

so cruel-hearted to me.

Empress Dowager,

please do not be too grieved.

I have only one daughter.

I took care of her and loved her dearly.

In the end, someone made a move on her in the end.

Empress Dowager, this humble one will dare to say a word.

On that day, the empress

has already found the evidence

in Zhaoyi Nie’s palace.

Why don’t you investigate this matter?

Zhaoyi Nie is the emperor’s person.

The beginning and end lead to one person.

Is there any difference between

who is the mastermind and who is the accomplice?

It is no use to say more at this point.

The whole palace is in turmoil now,

pointing the finger at Nie Wushuang.

If she can bear it

on her own,

I will really think highly of her

This humble one heard that Princess went to Cuihua Pavilion

to look for Zhaoyi Nie.

After a big fight

where she was asking Zhaoyi Nie for explanations,

she came across General Miao.

Princess has finally returned to her palace crying.

She locked herself in Mingyue Palace, (Mingyue - Bright Moon / Luminous Pearl)

not willing to see anyone.

Did Miao Minghu and Yunle

say something?

Two people were relatively silent for a long time.

General Miao finally said

that General Xue and Princess

are perfectly matched.

He had long wanted to refuse the marriage in order to realize his own dream.

Princess had the desire to talk but the tears fell first.

This is a bitter reality

of those born as precious gold branches and jade

leaves (those who come from the imperial family)

Did everyone leave

They are all gone.

Are you going to stand there all the time?

Withdraw for now.

Yes.

Since I was a child,

I spent heaps of time

visualising this day.

At this moment,

you become my bride.

My wife.

I often smiled

in these dreams.

But today,

when everything came true,

I find

that I cannot feel proud of it,

that I cannot be happy either.

because none of this

should have belonged to me.

Enough, there is no need to say anything else.

Isn’t it the time to drink nuptial wine?

Yunle, I have given up drinking.

Don’t drink,

Yunle.

I know you feel uncomfortable.

if you are in a bad mood,

you can vent it out on me.

Just don’t torture

yourself anymore.

In the former times,

I did not know that the wine can really drown one’s sorrows.

Yunle, you have been unhappy

since childhood.

Do you remember how I was dressing up like a horse

for you

to make you happy?

Come.

Come!

I’d rather

forget everything tonight.

Yunle, tell me

what should I do.

I will do whatever I can.

Try not to appear in front of me.

Try not to say anything if you can.

Yunle,

no matter if you believe me or not,

no matter if you were willing

to enter this marriage or not,

I will always protect you.

Drink a little less.

Eldest Brother Miao,

I cannot wait for you to come home any longer.

The night is long.

it is hard to spend

so much time

without finding something to do.

I am the one who got you into trouble.

Imperial Concubine,

why do you say such things again?

It is good that

I have you to accompany me.

Otherwise, how lonely this palace would be.

But I am not the person that

Imperial Concubine

wants to be accompanied by.

I have seen Imperial Concubine

embroidering this pouch for several months already.

Why is it still not finished?

I was not satisfied with it,

so I tore it down again and again.

When I am done with it,

I will be able to give it to Kesin. (Concubine Yun’s real name)

Imperial Concubine Pin Yu

has always been good to Concubine Yun.

In fact, flowers are easy to embroider.

It is the friendship between sisters that is difficult to embroider.

Cotton rose hibiscus

can persevere a long summer.

If a man of noble character is not greedy,

how can others earn their living?

What is it, Imperial Concubine?

I probably ate something bad.

Chuyun,

stop shouting.

It is fine, I will just have some tea.

I just feel a little bit

flustered tonight.

I heard that Lan State Princess is getting married today.

The general is well informed.

Jiao Tong has never seen

such a frustrating wedding before.

What about the Li State Princess over there?

Gao Yan is trapped in a petty love all day.

As long as Gu Qinghong is there,

she will not do anything grand.

Xiao Fengming knows

that she got pregnant

with Gu Qinghong’s seed

and he will not believe her.

The formula

is in Xiao’s mind.

It is very important for opening the treasure.

In any case,

be sure to find a way to get it.

General, rest assured.

I have not put all my chips

on Gao Yan alone.

I have placed

another chess piece in Lan State.

I am just thinking about how to use her skillfully.

King of Li trusts me these days.

He reached the point

where he worship me as a god.

Now everything is ready

and waiting for Sacred Priestess and divine bird to show up.

I can sense

that Xiao Fengqing’s strength

is gradually increasing

with Heavenly Tear gemstone.

When we’ll let him taste the sweetness first,

the more will he hurt when he loses everything.

Rest assured.

I cannot wait

to go home.

Someone is coming.

Imperial Concubine...

Days are getting hotter and hotter.

It is really hot in this weather here.

I wonder if it is the same in the other palace...

Does Concubine Du mean Cuihua Pavilion?

That’s right.

I do not know what happened these days.

Your Majesty is desperate

to run over there.

I just learned

that His Majesty

is going to Cuihua Pavilion for dinner tonight.

Jieyu Bao’s death was concluded without a conclusion.

When Princess Yunle’s

incident with drinking wine spiked with blissful powder happened,

His Majesty never said a word about it.

On the contrary, he seems to love

Zhaoyi Nie even more.

By contrast,

I would be less worried

if there was someone who would share His Majesty’s burdens.

But

His Majesty’s love for Younger Sister Concubine Du

is not lost on others.

The tribute

sent by the imperial chef here

is growing more and more.

However, I find it inconvenient to

serve His Majesty after being pregnant.

His Majesty is also visiting Guanju Palace less these days.

After all is said,

Younger Sister is still the best.

Whether it is in the Li State or Lan State,

she is still regarded as a precious treasure in one’s hand

that is being doted upon.

Now that you are pregnant,

the future holds

no limit.

Elder Sister is overpraising me.

Come, have a quick taste.

These are crispy water chestnut cakes

that I specially sent for.

It goes especially well with Longjing tea

after the rain.

Imperial Concubine, what’s wrong?

Imperial Concubine, are you perhaps...

Yes.

Zijuan,

have I noted it down

in the past two months? (her period is late)

Quick, send someone to fetch Imperial Physician.

Right, look for Imperial Physician Du.

Why are you not leaving?

This is truly great happiness, Elder Sister.

Congratulations, Elder Sister.

I am afraid we might be rejoicing too soon.

Impossible.

Yan'er is treating Elder Sister like her real sister..

I will definitely share my good fortune

with Elder Sister.

In the time to come,

I will share with Elder Sister

the tonic to prevent miscarriage.

I was not blessed with my twin Elder Sister

and so Heavens

have given me another sibling.

Kesin thinks is the most important thing now.

I estimate

Imperial Physician has reached Mingfu Palace.

I won’t chat with Younger Sister any longer.

Elder Sister, hurry up then.

Younger sister will be waiting

to hear your good news.

Who does she think she is?

How dare she to be arrogant and overbearing

in front of our Imperial Concubine?

Imperial Concubine, maidservant heard

that it was unclear as to why

Concubine Yun was suddenly pampered

and Pin Yu fell out of favour that year.

Unclear?

Maidservant has investigated this matter.

She actually used her biological Elder Sister

as a stepping stone.

I am afraid her old feud with Pin Yu

is not limited only to me.

People in this harem

are pretty curious.

Finally,

I will be interested to see

if she really has a clear conscience.

Congratulations, Your Majesty.

Imperial Concubine Yun has been

pregnant for two months already.

The fetus is stable at present

but Imperial Concubine

is weak on ordinary days

so more rest is needed.

In addition, special attention

should be paid

to the mood and the diet.

Good. Very good.

I shall trouble Imperial Physician Du

to look after the fetus

in Concubine Yun’s womb.

I will feel most at ease then.

The humble official will strive to do her best

till IMperial Concubine gives birth.

Concubine Yun will be troubling Imperial Physician Du then.

Listen to me well.

Now that Concubine Yun is pregnant,

keep your eyes bright

and your legs and feet diligent.

If you upset Imperial Concubine,

vex her or hurt the imperial hair,

you will all assume responsibility for it.

We shall follow Your Majesty’s instructions.

Thank you very much, Your Majesty.

It is a happy event

for the whole imperial harem after all.

His Majesty was worried about the state affairs recently.

he will definitely be happy after hearing the news.

His Majesty has arrived!

Just as I was saying, His Majesty has arrived.

This female servant wishes Your Majesty peace and happiness.

Humble official pays respects to Your Majesty.

Rise. Rise.

Thank you, Your Majesty.

You are pregnant now.

let’s forego

all the rituals.

Imperial Physician Du has checked everything already.

Concubine Yun is

two months pregnant already.

Very good.

Someone sent in a memorial

about the gathering of five stars.

It is a good omen.

I did not expect it to manifest so fast.

Don’t think about anything else now.

The most important thing

is to keep you healthy.

Let me know if you

need anything.

Your Majesty,

this female servant’s biological Elder Sister Pin Yu

does not know that this female servant is pregnant yet.

This female servant wants to personally go to Ziwei Palace

to tell her the good news.

It is rare that you have a mind to do something

Pin Yu will definitely be happy for you.

Imperial Concubine,

you have been restless since

coming back from the walk this morning.

What exactly happened?

It’s nothing, nothing.

Imperial Concubine Yun has arrived.

Why did Imperial Concubine Yun come?

She is my biological younger sister.

She will not do anything to me.

Withdraw for now.

No one is allowed to come in

without my permission.

Yes.

Withdraw as well. Close the door.

Yes.

Pin Yu, did everything go smoothly?

Everything went well.

Did His Majesty come to Mingfu Palace?
