Byeon Ilgu's going to submit the slush fund ledger

to the Financial Supervisory Service.

- What? / - Why do you think that is?

He's not using it to get Yu Gangu or Min Seonho,

but you! He's trying to get you!

Say that again.

Are you sure he's submitting the slush fund ledger?

I saw him meet with someone from the FSS.

No.

If I get locked up, he'll be at risk too.

So why...

You're wrong.

I'll be safe.

In exchange for handing over the ledger,

I was promised immunity. I won't be investigated.

You'll dump it all on me

and save yourself?

That's right!

I didn't want to go this far just to get the likes of you.

But watching what you've been doing,

I changed my mind.

Before Yu Gangu or Min Seonho,

I need to get rid of you first.

You're only an obstacle to me.

What will you do?

I'll just stop him before he submits it.

Watch him closely.

I'll find a way.

Now...

I have nothing.

So?

Did I love you because you were rich?

I am...

No longer Yu Gangu.

Did I...

Love you because you were Chairman Yu's son?

I love...

Not the heir of Mosung Group.

But Gangu...

Who always loves me.

That is the only person I need.

Once you're better...

Go back with me.

Do I...

Have a place to go back to?

You have me.

Right here.

Right next to me...

Is your place.

Maeum and I...

Are your place.

Gangu.

Do you feel better now?

Yes, I do.

Let me check your fever.

You really are better.

Let's hurry back. We don't have time.

Gangu.

I'm sure of what I must do.

Byeon Ilgu and Chae Seorin.

I can't just let them be.

Thank you for getting back up.

I have to get up.

I need to protect you and Maeum.

And...

You are by my side.

I can't stay down.

I will get the ledger

from Byeon Ilgu somehow. If I can't...

I'll have to attack him first.

You.

What are you doing?

How dare you ruin my son? How dare you?

You kick him out of this house,

and you dare sleep here?

How could anyone be so shameless and cruel?

- Why you... / - Stop it.

Goodness.

I ruined him?

Get your facts straight.

You're the one who ruined your son.

I merely exposed a secret.

What? What was that?

You're the one who did wrong.

Why are you getting angry at me?

- Goodness. / - I'm sure father is grateful.

He must be relieved that

he learned the truth before he died.

Don't you agree?

Goodness me...

How could anyone be so evil?

I've seen all sorts of evil, but never anything like her.

Oh, my back. It hurts.

Goodness.

Poor Gangu. Where are you right now?

Byeon Ilgu said he has the ledger

and made an offer.

An offer?

He offered the ledger in exchange for immunity.

I wanted to talk to you two about what you think.

Please take his offer.

Once the investigation begins...

The company will be in danger too

along with Byeon Ilgu and Chae Seorin.

You will also be investigated.

Are you sure about this?

I won't run away.

If I'm responsible for anything, I'll take responsibility.

Gangu.

I won't hesitate any more.

I'll punish Byeon Ilgu and Chae Seorin...

And resolve everything thereafter one by one

after discussing them with you.

Then...

Let's go see the Chairman.

Not yet.

I don't have the courage to see father yet.

Let me go to the company first.

Despite what happened at the inauguration,

I should finish what I've been working on.

And...

I want to see Seonho too.

- Grandpa. / - Yes?

I drew this.

This is you...

Dad and mom when we went on the picnic.

That's right. It was a lot of fun.

You drew...

The day we went on the picnic.

Yes.

Maeum.

Come here.

Yes, grandpa.

My Maeum...

No matter what anyone says...

You are my grandson.

That will never...

Ever change.

My Maeum.

My Maeum.

What is it?

Please approve this.

We can't get any work done

because Director Yu Gangu isn't here.

He'll be back soon. Please wait a little longer.

But...

Director Yu!

Is that all?

Yes. Yes.

I'll leave you then.

Can we talk?

About last time,

I don't plan to apologize.

I was wrong.

No matter how hard it was, I should've told you.

How long did you know and how did you find out?

It was in my mother's diary.

Eun Mihui and Seo Eunsu...

They had a child named Gangu.

I still shake all over

when I think about that day.

Poet Seo Eunsu...

I knew him for a while because he was a regular.

He had been seeing Eun Mihui in secret.

When I visited him in the hospital...

Poet Seo Eunsu clutched my hand and cried.

He said their child Gangu...

Was growing up as Manho's son.

He begged me to forgive Eun Mihui.

I remember how he cried as he begged.

If I take Seonho to him

as Mrs. Han says I should...

What will happen to Eun Mihui and her kids?

Perhaps this is as far as it goes

for Manho and me.

That thought keeps me up at night.

My mother...

She thought it was only right that she step away.

She thought that way,

the rest of you could remain being a family.

Such a selfless woman...

And yet my mother tormented her

and made her suffer?

Byeon Ilgu instigated it.

Don't blame yourself.

I'm sorry.

My mother...

Did so much wrong...

To your mother...

And owes her a huge debt.

Let me apologize on her behalf.

I'm sorry.

I really wanted to say this. No...

I felt like I needed to.

Then...

Come back...

To being my brother.

Once the two of you are done talking,

please come to the house.

The Chairman is waiting.

This is good, right?

Why a family portrait all of a sudden? And cafe boy,

why are you standing there?

Mom.

Jichan is an artist. He's a singer and a photographer.

There's nothing he can't do.

Fool.

Did you remember how I said

we don't have a family portrait?

Is that why you planned this?

I wanted to remember this day.

And what day is that?

Dad!

Uncle, we're taking a family portrait. Get in.

Come on.

What are you doing? Get in.

Mrs. Park, Driver Ko, come on.

No, no. I'm not family.

- We'll stay here. / - Yeah.

What do you mean? Get in.

- We are family. / - Really?

- Okay. Take it. / - Okay.

Here we go.

What's with your faces?

Haven't you taken a photo before?

Seonho, smile, smile.

Maeum, you too. Smile. Here we go.

3, 2, 1.

Gangu.

You are my son.

No matter what anyone says,

you are my son.

My terrible temper and personality...

Kept me from being a loving father.

I'm sorry.

However...

Because I had you...

I always felt secure.

I thought I had lost you.

I worried so much.

Thank you for coming back, my son.

I'm sorry, father.

No, no.

I'm sorry, my son.

Please forgive me.

I was never kind to you.

All I did was scold you and yell at you.

I didn't know how to love.

That's why.

Please forgive...

This foolish father.

Father.

Then let's proceed with the investment as discussed.

What do you think you're doing?

Can't you see I'm with investors?

No.

I can't see anything right now.

I heard something shocking.

I heard you're handing over the ledger and

dumping everything on me.

You started it, Hong Sunbok.

You brought up the past.

Did you think you'd be safe?

What the...

Why you...

Hong Sunbok!

If you hand over the ledger,

you'll be the most at risk.

You should worry about yourself.

Do you think I'll let you destroy me? No.

I can always make a comeback.

So if you want to live, go hide somewhere.

Although I'll find you.

Do you think I'll just take it?

You must not know me yet.

Why don't I know you?

I'm doing this because I do.

If you stay quiet,

I'll work it out so that you get released early.

About 20 years should do.

No. You don't know me at all.

Just wait. I'll grab you by the throat soon enough.

Even if you get on your knees and beg,

I won't show mercy.

What are you doing in my office?

I came to settle Maeum's matter.

What?

We should do that in court.

We won't need to go to court.

What do you mean?

I know you no longer have the ledger.

That means I have no reason to play nice any more.

Lawyer Oh.

This states you forfeit custody over Maeum.

Please sign.

You should sign.

Do you think I would?

If you refuse,

we'll press charges

for Yu Maeum's kidnapping

and all of your illegal acts.

You'll press charges?

I'll get going then.

Now you'll report me?

I was trying to resolve it because Maeum

thought of you as his mom.

But you don't have the right to be his mom any more.

You should give it up now.

Do you think you scare me?

I heard Director Byeon is handing over the ledger

and reporting you.

That'll be hard enough to deal with.

If you add on the matter of Maeum,

it'll be much more difficult.

The time you'll rot in prison will only get longer.

I'll give you time.

Decide by tomorrow.

What?

Did you think you'd never see me again?

How are you...

I should thank you.

Once I hit rock bottom thanks to you,

it became clear...

What I had to do.

What will you do?

There isn't anything you can do anymore.

The only way to punish you and Byeon Ilgu

is to do something about what you desired so much.

Money.

The FSS will accept Byeon Ilgu's offer.

What about the company?

Don't you think the company will suffer too?

It's a price to pay to punish you and Byeon Ilgu.

Wait.

Let's talk.

Let go.

I have no reason to talk to you ever again.

Don't make any mistakes.

I'll make sure of it.

It's me.

Do you know the man who's

working with Byeon Ilgu these days?

I want to know what Byeon Ilgu ordered him to do.

- Maeum. / - Mom!

My precious Maeum.

Did you have fun today?

Yes. I had this much fun.

You had this much fun?

Yes.

- Shall we go home now? / - Yes.

Let's go then.

Let's go.

You should...

Give up on Maeum now.

If I give up on Maeum,

I'll have nothing left.

I genuinely loved him.

I loved Maeum.

Do you want to be charged with kidnapping too?

If Kang Jiyu reports you, it's really over.

This won't do.

I must stop her.

What will you do?

Mom.

Yes.

Mom is the only person who can stop Kang Jiyu.

I'll ask her to stop Jiyu.

I have to try.

You keep an eye on Byeon Ilgu.

Goodness.

Goodness. Are they home already?

Are you home?

Come in. What? Hey...

Hi, mom. It's me.

What... What are you doing here?

Why are you here?

Hey. Hey. Why you...

What are you trying to do now?

I need to talk to you.

Talk to me about what?

Don't make me lose my appetite and get out.

Everyone will be home soon.

Can't I eat your food?

I want to eat your cooking. Let's eat and talk.

Stop it. Goodness.

Geez.

You never listen to me. What do you need to say?

Why are you lying again?

It's not like that.

I have no food for you,

so get out right now.

Every time you step foot in this house,

my heart beats so fast, I can't stand it.

I'll really just eat and go.

I really want to eat your cooking today.

I can't listen to anything you say any more.

Get out. Get out, right this instant.

- Get out. Get out. / - Seriously...

Yes. There's no need to delay.

Tonight.

Hello? Did you look into it?

He asked him to get rid of some woman.

Her name is Chae Seorin.

Get out. Please, just leave.

Mom!

Don't you ever come back.

Goodness. Goodness.

Goodness.

Mom!

I want to make a deal. Meet me here.

This is your last chance.

A deal?

It looks good.

We should've done it sooner.

Do you like it?

I...

Owe you...

Yet another debt.

You let me meet my son...

And you got me...

My son back.

When I...

Go to the afterlife,

I will...

Get on my knees before your father

and beg for forgiveness.

I'll let you rest.

Fool.

I am so glad you are by my son's side.

Geez!

Forget it. You're dead.

Sunbok, you...

Why are you... Goodness...

It's you this time?

- Where's Sunbok? / - Sunbok?

I kicked her out earlier.

What are you up to now, that you dare come here?

Did she say where she was going?

I must find...

Sunbok right away.

What is it?

Sunbok...

- Hello? / - I found out.

He's doing the job tonight. I'll text you the address.

Wait. What is it?

Did something happen to Sunbok?

Goodness. Goodness, Sunbok.

Where's Sunbok?

Goodness me. Isn't that...

Isn't that the evil jerk?

Is Sunbok coming to see him?

- What is it? / - Sunbok!

- Turn around. / - What do you mean?

Don't come here and go back!

Byeon Ilgu is trying to kill you, so go back.

What?

So...

Byeon Ilgu is trying to kill me, is that it?

I got it. Hang up.

Sunbok... Sunbok!

Sunbok. Sunbok!

What do you mean?

What's he going to do to Sunbok?

Hong Sunbok?

Sunbok...

Mother!

No way.

- Sunbok, no. / - Mother!

No. No, Sunbok!

Mother!

Mother...

Mother...

Mom!
