Court Lady

Ep27

General.

If General Lu sees you drinking while on duty,

He'll reprimand you hard.

Him?

He is busy currying favor

with the Grand Emperor and the Empress.

He doesn't have time for me.

He did all the fancy work

and left me with the tough job

of guarding this deserted land.

If I had known it,

I would've been like General Fan,

resting at home to recuperate.

General.

General.

-Go away. -General.

General!

General!

General!

General!

Give me that.

Will the Empress really die in three years?

You're just a fortune teller.

How can you tell a person's life span?

Of course I can't.

But I know medicine.

In terms of diagnosing an illness,

I'm better than the imperial physicians.

Be careful, Your Majesty.

Father,

look how attentive Lu Qi is!

When I'm back in Chang'an,

I will reward you well.

Serving Your Majesty

is my honor.

I dare not receive any reward.

A sweet talker as well.

Good.

General.

General Cao hurt his leg

and lost his mobility.

I'm afraid he can't keep up.

Don't mind him.

We can't delay the schedule

of the Grand Emperor and the Empress because of him.

Yes, sir.

Let's go.

I don't understand it.

Why did Your Majesty

ask me to ride the carriage with you?

Master Su's words settled this matter.

How do you feel about the result?

Forgive me for being honest.

It doesn't feel good

when my fate is in the hands of others

but not my own.

That came out wrong.

Do you want to leave the Palace?

Yes, I do.

You answered without hesitation.

If I act evasively

in front of Your Majesty,

it won't work.

It's your wish

to leave the Palace.

But have you thought about my wish?

I guess it is

the peace and prosperity of the country.

The basis for this

is the stability of the royal family.

His Majesty looks after the country,

and I need to look after his family.

I wish the royal family can live

a safe and harmonious life.

But my health

is getting worse day by day.

I don't have the energy to do as much as I'd like to.

I hope that

you can stay in the Palace longer

to help me.

Are you willing to do it?

I want to

ask Your Majesty,

if Master Su hadn't say

the last part,

would Your Majesty

really betroth me to King Liang?

Are you resenting me?

I dare not.

The situation in the Palace is chaotic.

I have to appease all parties.

Indeed,

sometimes my decisions aren't well thought out.

However,

you were treated unfairly.

I'll give you a big reward.

This token

is yours now.

It can pardon one person

for their misconduct.

Any misconduct?

Do you think it's a death-exemption plate?

It can only pardon minor misconduct.

However, don't underestimate it.

You're the only one

who has it in the Palace.

Thank you, Your Majesty.

Guys,

get ready.

Guys, charge!

Charge!

Protect the Grand Emperor and the Empress!

Father.

Protect His Majesty.

Protect His Majesty.

Hurry, Your Majesty.

Protect the Grand Emperor and the Empress!

Wait a minute.

Isn't Rou's convoy going in that direction?

So much smoke!

Oh no.

Something went wrong.

Junhui,

go get help.

Hurry.

Hurry, get on the carriage.

Hurry, Your Majesty.

Father.

Father, get on the carriage.

Get on.

Get on.

Father, get on.

Hurry, Your Majesty.

This carriage is full.

Find another one.

Where can we find one now?

I don't care.

If you abandon the Empress,

the Emperor won't let you off.

Don't waste time.

Get on.

Get on, hurry.

Guys, go get them.

Go!

Imperial guards!

Here!

Hold on!

Sheng Chumu.

Where is Rou?

Why are you only asking about your girl,

but not the Empress?

Isn't she with Her Majesty?

It's the same.

Cut the crap now.

Finish them off first.

They've got help. Guys, retreat.

-Retreat. -Retreat.

General,

spare me.

Someone

take him away.

Yes, General.

Sheng Chumu.

Thanks a lot.

Are you crazy?

You abetted King Liang to take advantage of Rou.

I've always wanted to get even with you.

Come on!

Come on!

Clean up the battlefield.

Yes, sir.

Hurry.

-Young Master. -General.

General.

Sheng Chumu.

General.

-Sheng Chumu. -General.

You think I can't beat you?

General.

General.

What's important right now

is to find the Grand Emperor and the Empress.

Father, be careful.

Are you okay?

I'm fine.

Speed up.

Hurry, speed up.

Your Majesty.

Father.

-Your Majesty. -Father.

Father, let's go.

Come on, let's go.

Come on.

They shouldn't be far away.

Search this area.

Where are we?

Where?

A cave.

Come on,

there's a cave.

Hurry.

Let's go.

-A cave. -Your Majesty.

Hurry.

Okay.

Where are they?

Where are they?

They can't be far away.

You guys,

go that way.

-Yes, sir. -Yes, sir.

The rest of you, follow me.

-Yes, sir. -Yes, sir.

Be careful.

On your knees.

On your knees.

Alright.

I'll interrogate him by myself.

Yes, sir.

Alright.

Untie me.

We can go our own way.

I think your brain is shut down due to fear.

Lu Qi,

my family and your family

are on the same side.

Bullshit.

Back then, your father secretly

let our commander go for treasure.

That gave us a chance to

go to Chang'an to take revenge against the Emperor.

Also,

we were told by someone in your family

that the Empress's convoy would pass here.

If the Emperor knows these,

I'm afraid your family

will be in a lot of trouble.

Someone in my family tipped you off?

Who is it?

If you're dead,

who will inherit your family's assets?

Lu Hanxing.

Now you know I'm telling the truth.

Free me,

or I'll spill the beans,

and your whole family

will die with me.

Good choice.

Guards!

You want to kill me?

This rebel wanted to break free and run away.

So I killed him.

We're finally out of danger.

This is...

This cave is so deep.

We're still not reaching the end after running for so long.

Oh no,

this is the perilous labyrinth.

What perilous labyrinth?

Great Mount Cang

holds many caves.

The caves are connected with a complex terrain.

It's a huge labyrinth.

Many people who were trapped inside couldn't find a way out

and died of starvation

or thirst.

We strayed here.

I'm afraid we don't have much hope of getting out.

What should we do?

Well then,

let's go back now.

Okay.

-Right. -Hurry.

Let's go back.

Go.

Let's go.

Go.

We've walked for a long time.

Why haven't we seen the exit?

Oh no.

Looks like we are lost.

The fire

is gone.

Your Majesty,

there's light on your head.

This is a luminous pearl given by His Majesty.

If we can't get out alive,

when someone finds it in the future,

they can tell His Majesty what happened to us.

Don't say that, Your Majesty.

We are in the dark

and the pearl given by His Majesty brought light,

It means that

His Majesty is protecting Your Majesty.

Your Majesty, you must have faith.

She is right.

However hard it is,

you can't give up.

My bad.

My bad.

Let's go.

Come on.

-Slowly. -Go.

Let's go.

Go slowly.

I can't believe someone used to live here.

-Come on. -It's not strange.

Back then,

so many people

hid in this place.

There must be some smart ones

who managed to build a hideout for themselves.

We can finally have some rest.

King Liang.

-King Liang. -What happened?

King Liang.

King Liang!

What happened?

His wound is black.

The weapon that hurt him was poisoned.

My son.

My son.

Open your eyes.

His lips are purple.

I'm afraid he can't make it.

Go away.

Your Majesty.

-Your Majesty. -Don't touch him.

Your Majesty.

Do you have to kill them all?

Xianzheng

and Yuanxi

all died.

Although I am the Grand Emperor,

most of my children died early.

Finally, my fifth son got to grow to 14 years old.

But then, you took him away from me, too.

I am an old man now.

I only have

King Liang as my son now.

Can't you just spare him?

Your Majesty,

are you so worried that you're confused?

God,

you are so cruel.

You took away my sons

and took away my grandchildren.

You have done enough.

And now you're going after King Liang?

You...

Your Majesty.

Your Majesty.

Your Majesty.

I'll fight you to death.

What are you doing, Your Majesty?

Your Majesty.

Your...

Your Majesty.

Your Majesty.

Your Majesty.

Your Majesty.

Your Majesty.

Your...

Your Majesty.

Your Majesty.

Are you okay?

Are you okay?

So, for all these years,

he has been secretly hating.

He hates me and His Majesty.

This is given by Master Yuan from the Fengtian Temple.

He said it is an antidote.

Maybe it'll work on King Liang.

Master Yuan from the Fengtian Temple

is known as the Elixir Genius.

Yuan Zhimiao.

Hong Yide!

Stop there!

Thank god it's you.

I've told you that

if you want to take revenge,

you have to be patient.

But you just have to act recklessly.

It's your own fault.

Fushui,

help me.

You go first,

I've got your back.

Thanks.

Your Majesty.

You're awake.

Up.

Slowly.

Come on.

My son.

My son.

If you die,

I'll keep you company

and die with you.

Your Majesty,

King Liang has gotten better.

What did you say?

King Liang won't die.

The blood

is not black anymore.

God bless you!

God bless you!

King Liang...

Thanks to Her Majesty,

I was reminded of

the two elixirs I have

that were given by Master Yuan Zhimiao.

King Liang took one of them

and has now gotten much better.

My child,

I just...

Your Majesty, you were so worried about King Liang

that you touched my neck by accident

due to carelessness.

You are right.

I...

was being too careless just now.

That's all right.

King Liang.

King Liang.

It hurts.

It's good that you can still feel it!

If you can feel the pain,

it means the poison has been removed.

This is great.

Your Majesty!

Rou!

I don't think this is a good time to call her name.

Young Master.

Why?

The Grand Emperor is old

with a poor hearing.

But Rou can hear us.

Calling her name is the same

as calling them.

General, here!

We found him! General!

General!

General, we just found General Lu.

What are you yelling for?

Lu's not the Grand Emperor or the Empress.

Keep looking!

Then what about General Lu?

Bring him back.

Yes.

It freaked me out.

I thought that was Rou.

Where the hell are they?

You should get more rest.

I am fine.

Father,

didn't you say that

Yuan Zhimiao makes the best elixirs in the world.

I am

alright now.

I feel much better.

Good.

Great.

I searched the whole place

and could only find some crocks and coal.

But luckily, I found

some water on the surface of the wall.

Drink some, Your Majesty.

Give me the water.

You...

Give it!

Or, I will drink your blood

instead of water.

Give it to him.

-Your Majesty. -Give it to him.

Father,

drink this.

All right.

King Liang,

you have lost a lot of blood.

You should drink some.

Go ahead.

Your Majesty.

King Liang.

Save some for your sister-in-law.

Go give her some.

You can drink it.

Me?

The Grand Emperor is old.

King Liang is badly injured.

And I am sickly.

You should drink it.

Then you can restore your energy

and find a way out for us.

But Your Majesty...

Not another word.

If there is no way out,

we'll be staying here waiting for death.

What's the difference

if I drink water or not?

Drink it.

This is an order.

Yes.

Don't move. Don't.

Don't move.

Use this as light.

Draw the path you walk

on your clothes with the coal you found.

We will be here waiting for you.

Yes, Your Majesty.

Directress Fu.

Master Su told me that

you are someone who can help me.

I don't believe in anthroposcopy.

But today,

I wish that

Master Su's prophesy can be as accurate as people say.

What?

The convoy was ambushed

and the Empress is missing?

Yes.

His Majesty is here.

Your Majesty.

Get up now.

I heard that the Empress is missing.

I was so worried.

So, I was just praying

to the Buddha for Her Majesty.

The Empress

is not the only one missing.

The Grand Emperor and King Liang are missing as well.

Please don't worry, Your Majesty.

With Her Majesty by their side,

the Grand Emperor and King Liang will be taken good care of.

Have you had dinner, Your Majesty?

I have no appetite.

You must eat something.

Go send my order to the Palace Catering Service.

Yes.

Please sit, Your Majesty...

Your Majesty.

Your Majesty.

Did you find them?

We got a message from Great Mount Cang.

They are still not found.

Send my order.

Even if you have to turn Great Mount Cang upside down,

you must find them! Hurry up!

Understood.

Don't worry, Your Majesty.

Let's sit down first.

It was all my fault.

If in the first place,

I had been decisive

and married Directress Fu to King Zhou,

the Empress wouldn't have gone to Fengtian Temple.

I didn't expect that Her Majesty would suffer from this

because I wanted to get a court lady to marry King Zhou.

I...

I blame myself.

I promised you

to grant King Zhou a wish.

Look what it got us into.

The most important thing right now

is to get Her Majesty back safely.

Yes.

Where is King Zhou?

Your Majesty,

when King Zhou heard that they are missing,

he was so worried

and went to Great Mount Cang to look for them right away.

He is a warm-hearted and honest child.

Such a hothead, just like me.

The Crown Prince is the son that resembles you the most.

He is always calm and self-possessed

just like Your Majesty.

Where is the Crown Prince?

Cao Yangde.

Yes.

His mother has gone missing.

Isn't he even a little bit worried about her?

Your Majesty,

His Highness is very worried.

He is praying for Her Majesty now.

Damn him!

I taught him mounted archery

for nothing!

Can't he learn from King Zhou

and go look for them himself?

Please don't be mad, Your Majesty.

His Highness may think that

he might make the matter even worse

if he goes out to look for them.

If he is worried about that, he should ask me about it.

But he didn't.

This shows his disrespect for his own mother!

His mother is missing.

The Crown Prince lost his head because he got too worried.

It is only natural

for him to do that.

He will govern the country in the future.

If he loses his head

in every crisis he meets,

how could I

be assured to let him take over the throne?

Your Majesty, this is about the future emperor.

It is not

my place to say anything about it.

You are right.

You know what to avoid.

I shouldn't have talked about this with you.

Your Majesty,

have some tea.

The wind.

I can feel the wind.

It means that

there is definitely a way out.

Where did you go?

Didn't Your Highness say that

you want a hairpin of a colored butterfly?

I went to the Jewelry Office to urge them

to put more effort into it.

Now, they're making every effort to make the hairpin.

The Empress is still missing

and His Majesty is torn with anxiety.

And yet you were urging the servants for some hairpin.

Are you trying to get me into trouble?

I dare not, Your Highness.

If you want to continue to serve me,

you should be able to see the big picture.

Yes.

Rou!

Rou!

Chumu!

Rou!

Chumu!

Rou!

Rou!

Rou!

Rou!

General!

General!

General!

We found this.

It's from the Palace.

They left this.

This is...

A map!

But we didn't see these intersections in the woods.

It's a cave!

It's the map of a cave!

Hurry up!

Check if there is an entrance to the cave! Hurry!

Yes!

Come on!

Rou!

General,

this is it.

General,

The seniors have warned me that

one shouldn't walk into the caves in Great Mount Cang.

Maybe we should wait for the reinforcements.

Nonsense! My wife is in there!

Let's move!

Wife?

Isn't the Empress the wife of His Majesty?

Why is she his wife?

He's being empathetic towards His Majesty.

Saving the wife of His Majesty

is as important as saving his own.

This is called loyalty.

Let's go!

Why hasn't she come back yet?

We should wait.

Do you think she'll leave us here to die

and get out herself

because she bears a grudge against us?

Your Majesty!

Listen!

Help is coming!

Your Majesty!

-Your Majesty! -Here!

We are here!

We are here!

Your Majesty!

We are here!

Please forgive me

for getting here too late, Your Majesty.

It's not too late.

Please get up.

Thank you, Your Majesty.

Where is Directress Fu?

Isn't she the one who told you about the place?

You didn't find her?

You are?

The porridge is almost ready.

You can have some later.

Zifang!

Where is the Empress and...

Sheng Chumu went to save them

with the map you drew.

Thank god.

Then, why am I here?

Because you are my wife.

Your Majesty,

Directress Fu is still missing.

I want to...

You stay here to look for her.

Make sure you take her back safely.

I swear on my life.

I will make sure she is safe.

Go ahead. Eat.

Zifang,

why were you in Great Mount Cang?

Hong Yide attacked your convoy.

I recognized them.

Isn't that the boss of the Four Seas Sect?

As the head of pirates,

he can even walk freely

in Chang'an.

I heard that he has pledged allegiance to the Court.

He gave up the unrestrained life on the sea

and came here to be a stooge of the Emperor.

He can be a stooge as he likes.

We'll focus on our business.

Let's have a look over there.

Look at this.

Let's go.

Let's go.

All right.

Let's go have some tea.

Sure.

Be careful.

Thank you.

Let's go to that store.

Sure. Let's go.

You knew that Hong Yide was in Chang'an.

Then, why didn't you report it to the Court?

I was not in charge of the public security of Chang'an.

I was just curious

so I asked around and got their whereabouts.

How would I know that

they were going to ambush your convoy?

It was not my convoy

but the Empress's.

Makes more sense.

I am just General of Admiralty.

I shouldn't stick my nose into the business

about Her Majesty's convoy.

Even if you didn't know

they were attacking the Empress's convoy,

you should know that

those ruffians could harm people anytime.

But you turned a blind eye to it.

Wouldn't you feel the stings of conscience?

Are you saying this because

in your eyes, I just can't do anything right?

Or is it because

by condemning me, you can spare yourself

from the stings of conscience

and live happily ever after with Sheng Chumu?

It is because you knew that someone could get hurt

but you turned a blind eye to it

and let it happen.

There are so many people in the world.

I can only...

I can only protect the ones I love.

Zifang,

you could've been

an upstanding man,

what's holding you back?

Eat your porridge.

It's getting cold.

About my clothes...

Hainiu changed them for you.

Your handkerchief

and your china bottle

are on the desk over there.

What about the clothes I was wearing?

They were all torn.

I threw them away.

What are you doing here?

I was going to ask you the same.

I am here to look for Rou.

I can look for her myself.

No need to bother you.

Please go back now.

If I order you to leave, will you do it?

No, I won't.

The same answer to you.

Rou!

Rou!

Your Majesty,

I am here to greet you.

Thank god you're back safely, Your Majesty.

The Hall of Joy

You are finally back, my dear!

I was so worried about you!

From now on, if you are going out,

I will always be by your side.

Mother,

you are finally back safely.

Mother,

it's good to see that you are fine.

I lost five kilograms of weight worrying about you.

-Mother! -My child!

My son,

come on,

let your mother get inside first.

Let's go.

Sisters, you can all get up now.

Her Majesty must be so tired

that she was muddled and forgot to tell us to get up.

You must be joking, Consort Xi.

How would Her Majesty ever be muddled?

In my opinion,

Her Majesty is trying to tell us that

as long as she lives,

all of us had better behave ourselves

and cut all the improper ideas.

I am impressed, Consort Pearl.

You can even read

the mind of Her Majesty.

But I don't know if Her Majesty can read your mind.

If so, she could persuade His Majesty to visit you more often.

I think His Majesty hasn't visited your place for a long time.

Even I feel anxious for you.

This is from a court lady's uniform.

This...this is the footprints of a tiger.

It can't be what you think.

Great Mount Cang is full of beasts.

There was a fire in the woods.

Soldiers were searching for people.

Tigers would attack people if they were startled.

So what?

Rou is extremely smart.

She would have hidden away if she saw a tiger.

Rou!

Rou!

Rou.

Rou!

Rou.

Rou!

Doctor Zhang,

how is my child?

General Lu's injuries are not a big deal.

It's just the hit on his head

that caused a brain hemorrhage.

This is quite a problem.

Doctor,

please think of something to save my son.

It is still unclear when he might wake up.

I shall prescribe him some medicine to have a try.

Good.

Please.

My Lady.

My brother is still in a coma?

Doctor Zhang just left.

He said that he suffers from a brain hemorrhage.

It is still unclear when he will wake up.

I heard that those foreigners with blue eyes who live a thousand miles away

have something called

the Pearl Resurrection Elixir.

It can remove the hemorrhage.

Really?

I only heard of it. I am not sure.

Even if it does exist,

where can we find those foreigners with blue eyes?

I'll be right back.

My Lady!

-My Lady! -Where are you going?

My Lady.
