that brings creativity and romance together.
- It's about the connection, being there in that moment,
feeling the textures of the paint, loving each other,
and shutting everything out
and just leaving room for this experience.
I'm an artist by trade and a creative by trade.
I went to art school.
The idea originated from a moment. [ chuckles ]
I remember I was going out one night, got lucky,
and it was one of those nights where it was just a whirlwind,
like, just a really passionate night.
And in the morning, you know, after she left,
I went back into my room.
It looked like a hurricane had hit the room.
It was just insane. I started noticing, like,
the wrinkles of the sheets and all these different things,
and I was like, "God." I was like, "I wish I knew
exactly, like, what happened. Like, how did we start this?"
It looked like kind of an amazing night.
I was like, "Oh, how can you capture that night without,
"you know, film and technology or anything like that?
How can you kind of just tell that story?"

I had asked this friend of mine, "Do you mind coming over?"
And I explained the concept and she was all about it.
I said, "Let's just wear, like, some, you know, underwear."
I wasn't even asking her to have sex.
It was just, "Let's just see what it's like
with two people and it's an experiment."

We did it and it was an incredible experience.
I mean, we were laughing like kids, we were giddy.
Actually, we felt in love for the moment of it,
even though we were just friends.
And it's still, to this day, my favorite painting.
It was everything I'd pictured in my dreams.
It was just incredible and it's beautiful.

And this is your, you know, play area
where you guys can really, you know, start to explore,
and I think that that's really the kind of the key aspect here
is to really just kind of let yourself go free
and be as creative as you want within the space
and sometimes outside of it.
But Alex is just gonna kind of take you through
some of the color aspects of it.
- Yeah. - Excellent, yeah.
- So how it typically works is,
you know, one thing we try to avoid
is choosing every color in the rainbow because
you end up getting brown. - Yeah.
- And while brown is a beautiful color,
it doesn't need to be thecolor. - Right.
- What do you think about this orange?
- It reminds me of you.

- You are an orange kind of dude.

- Awesome. So this is a really beautiful palette and actually,
I mean, these all complement each other quite nicely.
- Have you guys ever tried anything like this before?
- No. I have never finger painted with my body.
- It's interesting, you know. It's like such a simple concept,
but I think what's so cool about this
is the thing that's left behind is
that really amazing art piece that you have forever,
that no matter what you guys are feeling,
whatever emotions are going through,
if you guys are fighting or if you're in love,
you can look at that and really remember this moment
right now when you first came together and did it.

- When we first met,
I had a couple of partners at the time.
You were in some monogamous situations.
- Right. I spent a long time-- 30 years exactly--
trying to be in monogamous relationships,
and it was just, I realized finally that I was
setting myself up for failure, because that is not
a relationship model that works for me.
- And your partner that you had before me, I think,
actually like, was just like,
"You know what? You need to do non-monogamy.
"You need to be in a polyamorous relationship and like maybe
"with somebody who really knows how to do it, such as Siouxsie.
Like, maybe you should date Siouxsie."
- Yeah. She was within my circle of friends.
So we'd see each other at events
and we'd talk and joke and have fun.
- We are currently in the process of saving
and hustling to buy a house.
You know, that's the America dream,
and I feel like this will sort of
commemorate that in a way.

- It's very hard to find a first.
We've been struggling. Like, we've done
so many things, but this is something we've not done.

- The core concept of Love and Paint,
it's reawakening the butterflies in couples
that have lost that fire.
It's reminding ourselves not to take love too seriously,
to kind of get back at the root
of what it means to be connected.

but when you put them together, it just creates
this playful, fun moment of discovery.
I think that's really what the magic is
and that's why people want to do Love and Paint.
- Art is meant to draw something out of you,
to express ideas and sexuality is such a part of our lives.
It is so huge, and we-- you know, we can't escape it,
in any way, nor should we try to escape it.

I really like the concept of looking at the canvases
as a study of movement.
It's like a really interesting way of doing a time-lapse
for the sex event, right? - It's visceral.

- I envisioned taking this painting
and putting it over our mantel one day
in our beautiful home that we're gonna buy,
putting it out for the world for people to see.

- I've always combined weed and sex.
Everything's just more tingly
and I'm just more free and feel more connected.

can either be hit or miss.
It can either be fantastic and it feels like you guys

- I'm a big marijuana connoisseur.
I think it's a great aphrodisiac,
specifically edibles. There's nothing like it.
I get horny as hell off edibles,
and I think it's great for couples in general.
- I have definitely combined weed and sex.
It's a great experience, especially on Indica
that just makes your entire body relax.
Can be really--it makes sex just feel even better.
- I think it's better sex. I've had Extasy sex.
I've had weed sex. Coke sex is bad,
because the girl's more turned on, and I'm less turned on.
Weed makes sex more sensual
just because you're both relaxed.
You're in the same rhythm, you're in the same place.
- I'm not a weed person at all,
but I did once or twice, and it made things--
like, it took me out of my head.
It made things go nice and smooth.
I had--it was a good experience.
- Uh, no weed, but, other--
oh, I shouldn't say that. Never mind.

- Cannabis is a pathway to experiencing amazing sex--
greater pleasure and turn-on and orgasm.
I like to say that cannabis is a tool
in your sexual toolbox alongside of
lube or condoms or dildo or vibrators.
You have the feeling of greater sensations,
heightened arousal. Some people feel tingly
or warmth, or they feel a pulsating,
and a lot of times greater arousal.
There's really something to combining sex and cannabis.

and I work with couples who want to
increase their intimacy and their connection
with the use of cannabis in a really safe and sacred way.
Cannabis actually releases a chemical in the brain
that is a, um-- like a bliss molecule.
It can help us relax and destress.
Let's put the joints front and center.
And then this ashtray can go here.
It can help us feel more alive.
It can help us feel happier
and your body gets to feel like you're on Pleasure Island.

This workshop was really birthed out of our experience,
the tools and techniques that have really helped us
in our relationship.
Take 'em all for a second. - Mm-hmm.
- The sex and intimacy stuff was where we just--
we struggled, and we felt like we were
two people in the night trying to find each other.
- That's nice. That adds a little bit more,
like, femininity to it.
What really, really helped us was cannabis.
I brought it into the bedroom with us.
I created ritual around it,
and we had this powerful sexual awakening.
And that's when I found out that I was
a multi-orgasmic woman.

- All of us. - Oh, all of us together.
- Each and every one of us has a unique pathway
to pleasure, turn-on, and arousal.
For many of us, this pathway is cannabis.
It is a vasodilator,

It helps us lower inhibitions speaking our desire,
so if your desire is to suck toes during sex,
maybe that's not something that you feel safe
expressing to your partner.
Cannabis has this ability to help us feel
more into pleasure and sexuality in a deeper way.

I think getting out of our comfort zone is something
big for us, individually and as a couple.

I'm personally not a cannabis consumer
since like seven years ago.
It's got me very, very nervous, but I believe that it's
a wonderful tool for a lot of people.
I kind of wish it could be for me as well.
So I might be able to find my way back in

- ...'cause I love her, like, positivity
and connection to cannabis.
- This is like another thing. We already smoke weed.
We're already having sex. Why not, like, find better ways
to do it, you know? Sounds cool.
- A lot of the couples want to expand their intimacy,
have better sex, and feel more connected to their partner.

for two years now.
I choose him 'cause he's-- he's my calculated guy

- For us, the reason why we're here is
we just want to make sure we keep things interesting.
You know, just continue to just kind of keep that fire going
and hopefully this is gonna be one of those tools that will
allow us to kind of bring it throughout the years,
right, as we get older.
- One of the biggest challenges that couples face
is actually just getting stuck in a routine.
And this routine could be they have their sex down
as a routine, where it might be
"Hey, wanna do it?" And that's the initiation.
And then they have sex for two to five minutes or whatever,
and then it's over and then they go back
to whatever they were doing.

- Knowing what you're consuming, it's really important
and picking something that's low in THC,
maybe higher in CBD.
The different between CBD and THC
is THC has that euphoric feel, that high,
head in the clouds, where CBD
works on the body in a much different way.

- I want you all to kind of start to feel
the effects of the cannabis entering.
And just notice the arising sensations in your body.
The very first exercise we're gonna do
is called Desires, Fears and Love.
This one is my absolute favorite.
What we're gonna do is I'll have you get into your spaces
and then I'm just gonna walk you through.
This exercise, it's an opportunity for you
to clearly articulate within a five-minute span
of what you're really desiring.
The cannabis allows us to open up and share things
that otherwise you probably wouldn't talk about
in your relationship.
For some people, they've never been given
this opportunity or really felt comfortable
to really state what they wanted,
what they're really desiring,
so it's a really powerful tool for that.
Partner B is going to ask Partner A first.
What are you desiring?
And we'll begin.
- You mean...
And now we're gonna ask, so Partner B
is gonna ask Partner A, what do you fear?
This exercise is probably the most important tool
that I have as a coach
because you really get to learn things
about your partner that you never knew.
The final part of this one is what do you love about me?
- Okay, I'm sorry.
- This next exercise is...
For the breast and chest massage exercise,
we are gonna use cannabis intimacy oil.
We bring cannabis into this practice
because of its natural healing properties,
and for me, placing cannabis right on top
of the heart chakra is so grounding.
When you're reading you're just gonna start
to massage down on the inside,
out, up on the outside.
I think that it's really important
for couples to learn this exercise
because where our mind is while we're touching our partners
is really, really important.
- You're connecting to your partner's life.
Their breath, and their heart. - Mm-hmm.
- And you can feel them being alive.
- Mmm. - And you're with them.

- Yeah, I like that. - Yeah.
- And letting your hands just rest on the breasts.
Just giving them a little shake, some movement.
Just like up and down, yeah.
Have some fun with it. [ laughs ]
There are receptors in our brain
that cannabis activates
that opens up our receptivity to senses,
like touch and smell and taste.
And this is an area that's often oversexualized,
where the breast and chest massage is more
in a sensual, more vulnerable space.
And just whispering sweet things, sweet nothings
to the nipples.

- We're gonna move into the next exercise,
which is called Touching With Loving Presence.
What we're gonna have them do is we're gonna start
with the head and the hairline,
and Partner A, that's me,
is going to touch the way I want to be touched.
And then he in response
touches me exactly the way I touched him.
And then we're gonna go through different zones of the body,
and we're gonna leave the lower half for when they go home.
Moving to the lips now.
So Partner A is gonna show Partner B
how she desires to be touched.
- You can kind of, like, go around like...
- Over your head. - [ chuckles ]
- Or kissed...
or anything around the lips.
For some couples, what they have found in this exercise
is new ways that they like to be touched.
They had no idea.

nor did I actually even know coming into this
what I actually-- how I liked to be touched.

The cannabis helped remove some of the things
that we normally just kind of inhibit ourselves
from sharing with our partners.
And so it just kind of opens us up to be able
to kind of be with each other and be present.

because of the massage on the chest, which was really cool.
I'm leaving with some new ideas on how to approach things,
how to talk about things.

within the next seven days.
Just within the week. No pressure.
And I want you to apply these tools,
and in your rides on your way home tonight,
I want you all to make just one action step together,
just one action step out of all the things
I suggested for you guys.
Having a conversation about what you want
your sex life to be like is so important
and so needed in relationships
to continue to grow and blossom together,
and I feel so much gratitude for the four couples that came
and were open and vulnerable and trusted us
to take them through this really amazing experience
of connection and communication and intimacy tools, and I think,
mission accomplished. We did just that.
