(Episode 86)

What is it?

Could it be?

Kang Jiyu's birthday?

What are you doing here, Driver Oh?

Why are you coming out from there?

I cleaned your study.

You did?

I've always cleaned your study.

Don't touch my study ever again.

The security code has been changed.

Where are you going?

Why have you called us?

I wanted to talk to you about your mother.

I'd like to find out who tried to kill your mother.

I heard it wasn't my mother.

What?

I heard from Gangu's mother as well.

She said it wasn't her. That she was wronged.

Ilgu...

I think it was Byeon Ilgu's doing.

What?

I'm not trying to defend my mother.

I think given the circumstances,

it was definitely Byeon Ilgu.

Both you and I need to look into this thoroughly,

since it is about our mothers.

Is there

anyone else who knows about those incidents?

No.

There isn't.

Oh Dongsu may know.

He worked for Byeon Ilgu for a very long time.

He may know something

or at least know someone who does.

He was the closest to Byeon Ilgu

among everyone we know.

I'll meet with him.

How could Byeon Ilgu...

It makes no sense.

Everything surrounding Chairman Yu...

Seems to be linked with Byeon Ilgu.

Soyeong...

I heard about you and Director Yu.

- I'm sorry I couldn't tell you. / - Not at all.

I was the clueless one.

Anyway, I'm glad you're back.

Thank you.

Director Yu seems to be having a hard time

so I'm worried.

He stays in his office during lunch hours too.

I don't think he's been eating well.

Did you ask for me?

How long have you known Secretary Byeon Ilgu?

Why do you ask?

I heard you worked with him for many years.

Do you know anything about Min Aeseon?

I don't know. It was so long ago.

I haven't told you anything about

who Min Aeseon is

or when the incident took place.

You must know more.

I'd like to find

people who worked with Byeon Ilgu back then.

I was planning

to meet people from your past anyway.

That will help me find a lead somehow.

But if you help me,

it would go a lot quicker.

That's why I asked.

Yu Gangu asked about Min Aeseon?

I think he thinks Secretary Byeon was behind it.

Really?

You really don't know anything?

If Secretary Byeon was actually behind it,

he probably would've used the organization

I used to be with.

You can reach the boss

of that organization, right?

Why?

Let Yu Gangu meet him.

Don't tell me

you plan to use this to get rid of Secretary Byeon?

I can't go all the way with him anyway.

In that case,

it'll be better for us if father and Yu Gangu

get rid of him for us.

It'll be interesting.

What are you doing here, Driver Oh?

Both of the slush fund ledgers are in my hands now.

If Yu Gangu gets rid of Secretary Byeon...

No one can threaten me.

Really?

The person who tried to kill Seonho's mom

wasn't Eun Mihui, but Byeon Ilgu?

Yes, I think so.

Eun Mihui was always bothering Aeseon,

so naturally, I assumed it was her.

Wow. Byeon Ilgu is one frightening person.

He looks like a gentleman on the outside.

I knew right from the start.

The first time I saw him, I knew he was evil.

That's why I got back at him several times.

You are the best. Keep it up.

Okay.

That jerk has committed more than a few crimes.

With a jerk like that,

the more you dig into the wrongs he did,

the more you'll find. There will be no end.

Everyone eventually

pays for the wrongs that they have committed.

Goodness. Eat up.

You need to eat up to lock up bad people. Eat.

Yes, you're right.

Jiyu, eat up.

You need your energy.

There's an old saying that you need to eat

in order to have energy.

Director Yu seems to be having a hard time

so I'm worried.

He stays in his office during lunch hours too.

I don't think he's been eating well.

Eat.

Yes, let's eat.

- Eat up. / - It's good.

Jiyu, what are you doing so early in the morning?

I'm packing a lunchbox.

What?

Are you going on a picnic with Maeum?

No.

Then who are you making this for?

Here.

It's Director's Yu lunch.

Don't tell him it's from me.

Please make sure he eats.

Okay, I will.

I hope things will work out between you two.

You make a good couple.

He was the boss of the gang

that worked with Byeon Ilgu.

They stopped working together a while back,

but I'm sure they're the ones

he used regarding Min Aeseon.

Can I meet him?

That won't be hard.

How do I make him talk about Byeon Ilgu?

He'll do anything for money.

I see.

Please set a date.

Director Yu, I brought this because

it looked like you're skipping lunch.

I'm fine. You can take that back.

I promised to make sure I gave it to you.

I'm sorry.

Jiyu...

How will we decide on who pays for lunch?

What should we get, Maeum?

Cheese? Raisins? Sweet potato?

- What do you like? / - Cheese.

Cheese, cheese. And what else?

- Sweet potato. / - Sweet potato.

- Pink one? / - The pink one.

Here's the rice cake that you ordered.

Let's try it.

Here we go.

Is it good?

Yes. It has only the things that I like.

I asked them to put in only the things that you like.

Maeum, what should we do next?

I like everything I do with you.

- You do? / - Yes.

Let's eat quickly and go.

Shall we?

Eat quickly.

Good boy.

So what do you want to know?

Do you know this person?

Who was this again?

Her name is Min Aeseon.

Did you ever try to kill her?

Hold on.

Yes, I remember.

That was the first time Byeon Ilgu hired us

to target just one person.

Then you people...

We only did what we were told to do.

Take it out on the person who paid us to do the job.

Calm down.

Can you say that again?

I'll make sure to pay you properly.

Is what he said true?

Was it really Byeon Ilgu who did that to Aeseon?

It was definitely Byeon Ilgu who gave the order.

You can leave.

Why did he do that?

This should clear that up.

Is... Is this true?

It's as you see.

Ilgu purposely approached you

with the intent to get revenge.

Byeon Ilgu, that rotten...

What that rotten...

Get Byeon Ilgu in here right away.

What will you do with him?

Bring him here right now! What are you waiting for?

Bring him now! Now!

I mean it.

I think dad called the Lawyer Park

to add Min Seonho to the family registry.

I think he rewrote his will too.

You know the Chairman's personality.

He wouldn't act so rashly.

He doesn't have much left to live.

You can't blame him for being rash.

You need to be more attentive.

You're too laid back. That's the problem.

At this rate, there will be nothing left for us.

You're right.

I guess so...

Yes, Gangu.

Father wants to see you.

Did you want to see me?

What did you do to...

Min Aeseon?

Min Aeseon...

That would be Director Min's mother.

Tell me the truth.

What do you mean?

You tried to kill Aeseon!

That's why

she lived in hiding and pretended to be dead.

It was because of you!

Chairman, you've been misinformed.

I've only ever done what you ordered me to do.

You did that to my mother,

and now you even dare to lie?

I don't know what you're talking about.

Anything involving your mother

would've been years ago.

I don't remember anything.

My mom's diary describes everything in detail!

Her diary?

Her diary says who came

and did what on which day,

down to every single detail.

If we investigate

each of those entries one by one, we will eventually...

Uncover the truth.

I have no idea what you're talking about.

I don't know anything about this, Chairman.

Your entire life...

You've been doing these things behind my back?

Just to get revenge for your father?

This...

How...

To get revenge for your father,

you did that to my innocent Aeseon?

It's time to tell the truth.

We know everything, from Director Min's mother,

the slush fund, and how you are...

Also trying to take over the company.

Did you let Yu Gangu meet him?

I set up a meeting, so I'm sure he met him.

I can't wait to see how Yu Gangu...

Gets rid of Byeon Ilgu.

Please send away your two sons.

There is something...

That you and I must discuss alone, is there not?

You two wait outside.

I need to hear it too.

I said to wait outside.

Yes, that is right.

Min Aeseon...

If she returned to this house,

she would've complicated matters so I dealt with it.

Why you... Why you...

You couldn't forget her. If the two of you had a child,

it would've been an obstacle for me to take over

the company.

Byeon Ilgu, you...

But she already had your child.

I should've killed them for sure back then...

Both Min Aeseon and Min Seonho!

Why you...

Now that you know everything...

Why don't you strike me down?

What?

Everything you've ordered me to do until now,

I will confess to it all.

Just as you drove my father to suicide...

You draw countless people into a corner

to make your money!

How many people you threatened and tormented!

I will tell the police and the media!

Are you threatening me?

I learned it all from you.

You threatened Chief Kang Gyeongik endlessly

and finally created that accident 5 years ago!

If you mess with me,

your dirty past and wrongdoings...

They will all be exposed.

Why you...

You're not fit to be called a human being.

Neither is your father.

Let go.

This doesn't resolve anything.

All you're doing is showing him your weakness.

Byeon Ilgu.

You're finished.

Do you know how many times you've yawned already?

I've been working late every night in preparation

of the 45th anniversary celebration.

I can't help it.

You sound like you were the only one working nights.

Do we have to work late again tonight?

Don't ask the obvious. It's tiring to talk.

Isn't that Secretary Byeon?

That woke me right up.

I wonder what's going on.

Is something wrong?

What did you do with the slush fund ledger?

Why are you asking?

Chairman Yu...

Knows about everything.

I need to threaten him with the ledger.

So hand it over, right now.

Without any plan at all?

Don't you understand what it means

if Chairman Yu knows everything?

Fine.

I hid it somewhere far away,

so it'll take some time to get it.

Hurry up and bring it! Hurry!

Do you plan to give it to him?

No.

I'm not holding onto the ledger to help Byeon Ilgu.

I'm doing it for me.

I need to meet your old boss that Yu Gangu met.

Set it up.

Why do you want to meet him?

If I'm going to catch Byeon Ilgu,

I need to set traps here and there.

I heard you did some work for Secretary Byeon.

Why are so many people

asking about Byeon Ilgu lately?

You wouldn't have done it for free.

You have a record of all your transactions with him?

I'd like to buy that ledger.

How much do you want for it?

There is no ledger.

When we stopped working together a few years ago,

I got rid of it.

We made a mistake back then,

so he never hired us again.

A mistake?

I was told to kidnap Kang Gyeongik's daughter,

but we got his maid's daughter by mistake.

It was raining, so my boys made a mistake.

What do you mean by that?

You weren't there because you were running

another errand.

I'm sure you saw me beat up

those punks who messed up.

Then...

It was you!

What's wrong with you?

Exactly...

When was that?

When was it?

Byeon Ilgu...

He's been with me for 30 years.

He knows...

Too much about me.

So?

Will you leave him alone?

I'll have to keep an eye on him

and take care of him when the opportunity rises.

I never should've let him into my house.

Who knew all this would happen because of him?

Do you think...

It was all his fault?

What do you mean?

I think all of this happened because of you.

How is it because of me?

Something that you can't even remember

made Ilgu come this far.

What you did to another person

without second thought...

Has came back to haunt you.

Don't you get it?

Be quiet.

Father.

Then that night...

They mistook me for Kang Jiyu.

They mistook me for Kang Gyeongik's daughter,

Kang Jiyu.

Instead of Kang Jiyu...

That happened to me.

It happened to me instead of Kang Jiyu.

That night...

That rainy night...

I had to endure that horrible terror because of Jiyu?

Byeon Ilgu is the one who did this to me? No.

All of this...

Was because of Chairman Yu Manho.

I never knew...

That everything was all connected like this.

I can't forgive them.

Kang Jiyu, Byeon Ilgu and Chairman Yu Manho.

I can't forgive any of them.

It was Secretary Byeon and Chairman Yu.

- Jiyu was... / - No!

I was sacrificed instead of Kang Jiyu.

It's not fair.

It's so unfair.

Where's Kang Jiyu right now?

I need to see Kang Jiyu first.

Her first.

Take Maeum inside.

What is it?

Maeum, go in first, okay?

It's okay.

It's okay. I'll see you later.

What are you doing? Just say it here.

Come with me.

Let go of me!

What do you think you're doing?

It was all because of you.

You're the one who made me this way.

What are you talking about?

The night I went missing.

The night you made me bring you an umbrella.

Do you know what happened to me?

I was dragged away by someone in the rainy alley.

And I was destroyed.

Because of you.

What are you saying...

All of a sudden?

It makes me shake with anger

every time I think about it.

While that was happening to me...

You walked past laughing while holding an umbrella.

You saw me, but you kept going.

What do you talking about?

I called you out to throw you a birthday party.

If I had seen you...

I would not have walked past you.

Then just know this.

The person who should've been attacked that night...

Wasn't me, but you!

It's your fault that it happened to me.

What do you...

You were the one...

Who should've been destroyed that night in the alley!

It was supposed to happen

to Kang Gyeongik's daughter.

But it happened to me.

Do you get it?

(Secrets of Women)

You found him?

I think the police found out something

about the truck driver.

How could father do something like that?

I'll take responsibility on father's behalf.

I'll say I created the slush fund.

Chae Seorin?

You have no idea how long

I've waited for this moment.

Did you think you could forever have your way?

- Chairman! / - Goodness!

I'm telling you to kill him.
