of the season, the doodlebug

Is downstream
from the mined out

Bank and vault cuts.

The ground was worked
in the 1930s and 1940s

By dragline buckets,

Which fed a floating
doodlebug dredge.

But dave believes
the old miner's technology

Couldn't excavate all
the gold rich rocky ground.

Leaving team turin
one last chance

Of a big pay day

And they've left
the more difficult gold.

The gold that's under
a lot of overburden

Or the gold
that they couldn't get to,

They've left that for us.

But we have an advantage
that they did not have.

We have hydraulics,
a lot of horsepower,

abandoned mines.

rocky mountain boulders,

Dave's upgraded the roach
with last season's

Heavy duty hopper
and conveyor.

Boom,
drowsy to the freaking bones.

They just threw one
into the bed of the truck,

Damn near bounced it up off
of the ground, it hit so hard.

It sounded like king kong
in the truck.

Rocks are always a pain
in the butt.

They create a lot of wear
and tear on the machines.

It's hard to try and go up

Against mother nature
and that's what we do.

So we're gonna replace the
bent ones with straight ones.

That every time a rock

to protect the machine,
