[Episode 26]

Brother Dong Fang, your wound is recovering well.

Should be up and running soon.

Really!

The wound didn't reach the bones.

You are lucky.

Shui Ling, really appreciate your help.

It was mostly my Shi Fu.

It's good she taught me some art of healing.

I never thought

these skills would come in handy someday.

Some day,

I'll definitely go thank Bu Hui Shi Tai personally.

Don't know how my Shi Fu is doing?

And also Yu Jing.

I'm really worried.

Don't worry.

Once I am fully recovered,

I will accompany you back to Wu Dang.

To see your Shi Fu.

Then we will go looking for Yu Jing,

Will that be ok?

Brother Dong Fang, it's getting late.

Why don't you rest for the night.

You please go and rest, too.

You've be busy for a whole day.

Thanks for your hard work.

This is really interesting.

There will be stuff more interesting.

The Martial Arts Competition begins.

Martial Art Competition begins.

It's at the competition arena at the city center.

People can go watch and place bets.

Final winner could receive an ingot of gold as reward.

An ingot of gold!

This is really a big deal.

It's hard to know

how many fighters from central plains area will compete.

Let's go and check it out.

Qiao'er, there is a martial arts competition here.

In my opinion, that kind of place,

it's better to stay way.

If we don't go,

in case Guo Dong Lai joins the competition,

aren't we going to miss him?

Are you going to show off your skills during the competition?

I don't think it's a good idea.

There will be winners and losers in a competition.

That means conflicts.

This is a place of trouble,

We'd better not get involved in this chaos.

Qiao'er is right.

We are only going to take a peek,

and won't get on the fighting stage,

will that be ok?

All right.

We are only going to watch, and not to fight.

Ok, will listen to you.

Let's go.

Good, good, good.

Good.

Jia Cuo, do you see down there

that fellow that's watching the excitement?

Why don't you challenge him,

but remember, make sure not to harm his life.

Yes.

You, you don't follow the rules.

Get out!

Come up here.

Elder, are you calling me?

Come up and let's compete.

Qiao'er, where is Uncle Su?

I was only paying attention to the 7-star swordsman just now,

I really didn't see where Uncle Su had gone,

Why do you young fellow act like a sissy?

Come up and fight me!

No, no need.

We are just observers, and won't dare to join the fight.

Elder, we didn't register.

I will cut you if you don't come up.

Elder, why are you so intend on fighting me?

You watch what you do.

Ok, Ok.

Good fight.

Fablous, fabulous.

Fabulous.

Good fight.

Good.

This is great!

Jump that high.

That's right! Good!

Good, how fierce!

Don't try and hide, come down if you dare.

All right.

Good fight, great.

Good, good, good.

Good fight.

Warriors from the Central Plains.

What kind of Kong Fu is this?

Good, good.

Good, good, good.

Good swordsmanship!

Heroes, heroes, heroes.

Good fight.

Warriors from the Central Plains.

Come, anyone?

Yes, I'm here.

Invite that man and woman over here.

Tell them that Su Le invites them over.

Yes.

Elder, good game.

My surname is Jin.

the operator for this Martial Arts Competition.

Could I have your name please, young knight?

Elder, thanks for your kindness.

My name is Geng Yu Jing.

Is there anyone else down there,

that wants to exchange skills with the young knight?

Do come up quickly if you'd like to fight.

Young knight,

it looks like you taking the crown today

is very well deserved.

There is indeed an ingot of gold.

Yes for sure.

It's quite a good sum.

Sure.

True man from Liao Dong is good for his words.

Besides, your young knight let me see

the fabulous Wu Dang swordsmanship.

Offering this gift of appreciation is due.

Elder has discerning eyes.

I thought,

outside of the central plains,

few people would appreciate Wu Dang swordsmanship.

Meeting you Elder today unexpectedly,

It is really my good fortune.

I've had the luck of meeting many good fighters from Wu Dang,

Even then,

I already marveled at the swordsmanship of Wu Dang.

The fight today,

you being this young,

snatched the crown without a dint.

A real young genius!

If your elderly has nothing else,

I will leave for now.

Good.

We shouldn't stay here any longer.

Your honor, there is animosity in him.

Have someone tail him.

Yes.

Young fellow, stay put.

Don't worry.

Slow down.

Shui Ling,

Even though you wouldn't say anything.

But I know in my heart,

for me,

you must have suffered a great deal.

It's all in the past.

Let's not dwell on it.

Come,

Shui Ling, you saved my life.

If there is anything you need in the future.

Dong Fang Liang will repay the debt with my life.

Let's not speak of if anything should happen,

now that we have escaped death,

we should try and lead a tranquil life.

You are right.

We are waiting for Yu Jing to come back.

to exchange swords skills with him.

You are so obsessed with swordsmanship.

Come, come come, please do sit.

Just missed the fabulous fighting scene of Yu Jing,

What a pity!

No, no.

You aren't lucky enough to see,

the swordsmanship of Yu Jing right now,

has reached the state of superb ecstasy.

Nonsense.

Don't listen to her babbling.

In the future,

I really would like to see your swordsmanship.

Uncle, you flatter me.

These

are delicacies and wild games delivered from Grand Xing An Mountain.

This is the thorn bud,

That is matsutake.

This is Po Po Ding mushroom,

this is hericium.

That's wild boar meat.

This is roast yellow goat,

This is flying dragon soup.

Flying dragon,

what is flying dragon?

The flying dragon,

it's actually the hazel rooster with long colorful tail.

It's an unique bird found only in Grand Xin An Mountain.

These kind of upscale delicacies,

the Ming dynasty Emperor probably hasn't tasted them.

These table is covered with mountain delicacies.

I am really flattered.

The journey has been hard on you.

Yu Jing exerted himself during the Competition just now,

Should get additional nourishment.

Thanks Uncle.

Uncle, I want to tell you,

all the way coming over, Yu Jing

hasn't had any decent meals.

Even yelling out in my dreams,

chicken, duck and fish.

I see he could have enough to eat here today.

Now that we are here,

Let's eat as much as we want,

and drink to our hearts' merry.

Uncle, thanks for your kindness.

This toast is to you.

Great,

To you.

Come, come, come.

Master Geng,

Some guest has heard your fame,

and insisting on seeing you.

See me?

Yes, to see you.

Once Yu Jing strikes out,

it's now famous in Liao Dong region.

See me for what?

You tell him to go away.

That can't be done.

These are all members of the martial art community.

They've come in admiration of your fame.

So, I think you should see him

But do come back quickly.

Good.

Come,

come this way please.

Pavilion Master, Master Geng is here.

Elder Jing,

how come it's you.

I don't want to be conspicuous,

so I have you brought here.

My sincere apologies.

Elder Jin,

Pavilion Master Jin,

Where have you come from?

Do take a seat.

Don't deserve being called the "expert"

I have a Ling Xue Pavilion,

don't know if young knight has heard of it.

I just came from Liao Dong region.

So, I don't know everything.

I've met a lot of expert fighters from the Central Plains these years.

young genius like you,

it's really rare.

I value people with talents.

If you'd like to join Ling Xue Pavilion,

what you will receive,

will be far greater than the ingot gold.

Then the Ling Xue Pavilion,

what does it do exactly?

Do what is needed in this world.

Such is this.

If you are willing to be devoted to Lin Yun Pavilion.

What are you interested in?

Money, power or women?

All is no problem at all.

Pavilion Master Jin esteems Yu Jing such,

Yu Jing really appreciates the gesture.

However,

Coming to Liao Dong region, I have some small matters to take care of.

What are they, you can tell me,

and I will take care of them for you.

I came to find a friend of my father's.

I've lived in Liao Dong for dozens of years now,

I may know.

He is just a nobody,

wouldn't have come into contact with Pavilion Master Jin.

In any sense,

I came to fulfill a dying wish of my late father.

Until my the family matters have been taken care of,

Please forgive me that I can't accept your invitation.

Didn't take young master Geng as a filial son.

How about this,

after you've taken care of your family matters,

if you want to accomplish great things,

Lin Yun Pavilion is always open to you.

You can come to Ju Long restaurant,

Let me know,

we will send someone to get you.

Thanks Pavilion Master Jin for your kind regard.

Young Knight Geng,

Please don't let me down.

Farewell.

Take a look Shui Ling, one more.

This is wonderful.

Of course.

I already learned the tricks.

You finished off everything all by yourself.

This way, this way.

Now we have it.

Now, we have enough for tonight.

Keep looking.

We already have plenty.

You be careful.

I'm ok.

Come on, I'll come.

Slowly.

Yu Jing, who came looking for you?

What did they say to you?

The person's name is Jin,

He is inviting me to join Lin Xue Pavilion.

I told him that I was looking for relatives.

They may want you to be their body guard?

I already refused them.

Young knight is indeed a man of temperament.

Please forgive my indulgence.

The moon is really beautiful.

Where there is no moon,

Where there is no lonely soul.

Shui Ling, what's on your mind?

A lot is on my mind.

Still concerned about Yu Jing

Not only Yu Jing,

also my Shi Fu.

Don't know how they are doing.

After I've recovered,

I will go visit Bu Hui Shi Tai with you.

Have you ever thought,

what we are going to do in the future?

I want to go home.

go back to Shen Nong Jia.

It's really nice living in Shen Nong Jia.

That is indeed your home.

Shen Nong Jia is beautiful as heaven,

I want to rest there all my life.

Rest?

You no longer want to challenge heroes of the world?

To be the Number One Swordsman anymore?

I feel,

compare to only practice swordsman skills in the world,

there are more interesting things.

What things make you feel,

it is more interesting than practicing swordsman skills

I can't tell you now,

you will find out later.

I always thought before

that you were the only one obsessed with swordsmanship in the world.

In your heart,

except practicing sword,

you could let go anything.

Correct?

I used to be like that.

But now,

I don't know either.

Maybe I

have changed.

They say a good man should be ambitious.

What's so important,

that you are willing to let go swordsmanship?

I already thought it through.

Practicing swords all the time is meaningless.

Even if I win the number one in the world,

it is still vanity.

Brother Dong Fang,

You've really changed.

Let's see.

The locals are simple people.

people are truly happy.

Qiao'er, take a look at this.

Friends from Central Plains, take a look at our hats.

I have never seen

anything this interesting.

The craftsmanship is so fine, takes a lot of trouble.

I will buy this one for you,

get two.

Let me see that one,

I can get this for my sister.

Buy, buy, buy.

All you do is buy.

Do you have enough money on you?

Have you forgotten,

I have that?

That is left for us to use on the way.

Do you not want to return to Wu Dang Mountain?

Let's go. We are only browsing.

Good.

Take it.

No worries, no worries.

You pick out somethings you like.

These will be my gifts of appreciation.

How can that be done!

Qiao'er, take a look at this.

Pick one.

Young fellow, take a look at my knife.

It is nicely done.

Take a look.

Most of these are Mongolian knives.

That knife is from the western region.

Western Region knife.

A great knife.

Like it?

Take it if you like it.

I am only looking.

Take one please.

We are only looking, uncle.

Only looking.

Good.

This is a knife used to kill sheep.

It sheds no blood when killing a sheep.

One stab to end the animal's life.

Therefore,

the animal will die almost instantly.

That's so sharp.

Take him away from me.

Dad,

Let me go.

Dad,

Let me go.

Dad, let's go.

What's going on over there?

Let's go check it out.

Go.

Slow down.

Is it ok?

I'm ok.

You pierced your hand.

Does it hurt?

No, it doesn't hurt.

Brother Liang.

When we finish building the raft, we can go home then,

All right, we'll go home.

Let me go, I want to go home.

Dad, let's go, go.

Let me go.

Dad, I can't let you go.

Take him away, right away.

I won't let you go to war.

Daughter, go find grandpa.

Go back quickly to find grandpa.

Dad, don't go to war, please don't go.

Dad.

Take away quickly.

Go.

Go back now.

Take him away.

Grandpa, you let me go.

Stop following. Let's go back, child.

Daughter.

Little girl,

If your father could earn a war contribution back,

will bring a lot benefit to your family.

Dad,

What does this little child know?

She has no father.

What good will it be even she is given the best of heaven has.

I will be back alive. Le's go.

Daddy, I want my daddy.

Let me go.

Go, go. Let go.

Go back.

Grandpa, let me go. I want to find my daddy.

Go quickly, go quickly.

Dad, I want to find my dad.

Go home now.

Why are the Jurchen soldiers so unkind?

The Jurchen customs, strong men are all soldiers.

Except for military service,

There is no other exorbitant taxes.

People usually live their own lives.

No need to keep idle officials around.

This one point,

Isn't it more human than the central plains?

For a good system like this,

people ought pay a price.

Not to say when military services are needed,

even during peaceful years,

young men of strength,

should be ready,

to march out to the Central Plains.

It's not tribal wars,

neither is it hunting or fishing.

If you died in battle on foreign soil,

their remains may not be able to return home.

Such goodbyes for life,

even little kids know.

Sure it is.

At this young age, she has to bear

the agony of parting with her loved one.

Those around to see it,

It's heart wrenching.

Uncle Su,

Can't you feel her pain when you see it?

I certainly feel for her,

but there is nothing I can do.

Brother Dong Fang,

please rest a little.

You are still in healing, don't over exert yourself.

It's all right, I'm not tired.

Once we finish binding the raft,

we will take you away from this desolate place.

There is nobody hundred miles around.

Once we get out,

we will change into some new clothes.

Then, we will send you back to Shen Nong Jia, is that ok?

Shui Ling,

what did you call me just now?

Brother Dong Fang,

Brother Liang,

Brother Liang, please rest a little bit.

Could you sit with me for a little while?

Ok.

Be careful, come over here.

You sit first.

Quick, get in and make the arrest.

Child, dad.

Child.

You give me back my dad.

Come back my child.

Daddy! You give me back my dad.

Child.

Child.

Wait for me, come back quickly!

Child, child!

Child, child!

The way the father has to leave his daughter, not knowing if they will see each other again.

Such pain,

shouldn't have been born by a small child.

The father of that child,

has a honorary mission to accomplish.

This should have been an opportunity,

also a glory.

When the child has grown up,

she will understand.

Everyone has different dreams in life.

Some cares about honor.

But for other people,

that is worth far less than the smile of the loved one.

You are right.

It seems Uncle agrees with our thoughts.

I agree with you.

Every man should have

someone and something they will try to protect.

Love in his heart that's worth fighting for.

This is the key to being a real man.

This isn't agreeing with us,

this is opposite of what we believe.

Su Le Elder,

If the heart is not stable,

how could the hand the warrior holds knife with,

be stable then?

This will depend on the person.

If the kid's father,

wants to fulfill the promise he made to his daughter.

His hand will hold the knife tighter.

He will be more vigilant on the battle field.

Let me go.

Let's go.

Let me go.

I'm not going. Let's go.

Let me go.

Go.

Let me go.

Let's go now.

I want to go back. Go.

Sweetie.

Honey,

Sweetie, I will be back.

Let him go.

Honey,

how can we live without you?

Don't know this round of recruitment,

how many families will be affected.

The elders lose their support, the young lose their care.

Yu Jing, what do you think?

I don't think we should force anyone.

For families that have no extra help.

or those who really have someone they care about.

They should be allowed to go home.

Good.

This thing,

I could actually help you.

Are you serious?

Of course.

Why don't we go and check out the army camp now?

Ok,

Let's go.

Drink some water.

So sweaty!

Brother Liang, when I am back at Shen Nong Jia,

You,

I'm not going back to Kun Lun Mountain either.

You really aren't going back?

Auntie has washed her hands of the worldly affairs.

Now that she has Mou Yi Yu,

guess now is her happiest moment.

That cousin of mine, Xi Men Yan.

Grew up with me.

Even though she is stubborn and willful.

The bottom line is,

that she is still a kind girl.

I've been obsessed with practicing swordsmanship since youth.

My cousin is infatuated with me.

But being her elderly cousin,

I never felt romantically toward her.

I don't know how to face her either.

Then, you Flying Eagle Swordsmanship,

The responsibilities of Kun Lun Chief Master,

is to continue perfecting Flying Eagle Swordsmanship.

to make it the Number One Swordsmanship in the world.

But after dozens of years of hard practicing,

I am not seeing the kind of improvements I want.

Maybe I lack aptitude.

I'm not made for this.

Brother Dong Fang, don't be too sad.

On swordsmanship, you are what I have seen

the most hardworking person.

Maybe something is inherently wrong with the swordsmanship!

Maybe the way practice is not right.

When we get to Shen Nong Jia,

I will work with you on that together.

Maybe we could figure something out.

Shui Ling, the time I spent with you,

is the most memorable in my life.

And the happiest time.

Also, it is in my entire life,

for the first time I don't want to practice swordsmanship any more.

You gave me peace and serenity.

Don't know why,

If I don't see you even for a moment,

I will feel uneasy inside.

You silly.

This is such a desolate area,

where could I have run to?

I don't know either.

Shui Ling, when I don't see you.

I worry that you maybe bitten by a snake,

or you may fall.

I'll worry that you don't eat well, or sleep well.

Even in my dreams.

What do you say?

Am I sick?

Stop the silly talk.

When we get the raft ready,

we'll go home together.

Good.

When we get the raft ready,

we will go back to Shen Nong Jia.

Go home.

These new recruits,

in the army.

Regulations and disciplines are secondary.

Fighting power determines your status in the army.

Whoever can plunge into the enemy camp,

And give them thirty or fifty knife swings.

I would address him as big brother.

What do you want?

Why do you hang your head so low?

Cheer up!

The butcher starts killing from the sick ones.

Do you want to make it back alive?

I want to live.

I want to live.

I want to live. I can't die.

I have to be alive.

My daughter is still waiting for me at home.

Rest assured,

your daughter will find a good home.

A good home.

When she is all grown up.

She'll be for sure

married to one of your soldier buddies.

By the time when they come back in victory,

they will be warriors of our Great Jin nation.

Heroes in the sight of wemen.

I want to be alive.

I need to go back to my little girl.

Whoever can come back alive,

he can marry his daughter.

Good.

Marry his daughter.

Come back alive, come back alive.

If I get that benefit.

Father-in-law,

how do you like me as your son-in-law?

All right, all right.

Let's register quickly.

Come, come, come. Time to line up.

Let's go, let's go.

Quickly, quickly.

Let's stand still.

Hurry up, hurry up.

What's the name?

A Bu.

Ok.

Come up, next in line, come forward.

What your name?

Hei Gu La.

Qiao'er.

Uncle.

Why did all the soldiers gone?

It seems battles are more frequent.

Here is the camp to receive new recruits..

Uncle, what should we do?

There doesn't seem to have a lot of soldiers in here.

Since there aren't many soldiers.

We could easily take it down and save someone.

When these recruits go into the army camp,

won't they become soldiers already?

The guard here is really relaxed,

so to get someone out shouldn't be hard.

That's right.

Just those few soldiers

We take them out one by one.

Don't be careless.

We need to move fast.

Now they may not seem to have tight security,

But it's hard to guarantee that reinforcements won't come.

I see.

Wait a second.

There are so many recruits in there.

Are we saving all of them?

If I decide their fate casually.

Then compare to the harsh behaviors of the recruiting agents,

are there any differences?

Go.

What's the name.

Guo Er Tai.

Good, next.

What's the name.

A Mu Gu Lun.

what's up.

I, I need to go pee.

Lazy donkey playing tricks.

Go, go, go, hurry up.

Yes

Go.

Go right away.

What is this stuff?

What's the name?

There isn't a war yet.

Don't fear.

We are here to save you.

I don't want to go to war, I want to go home.

I don't know how to fight, I want to go home.

I don't want to go to war, I want to go home.

What's up with this?

Nothing.

Someone is crying out for mommy again.

These new recruits,

How come they all act like sissies.

Useless.

Aren't you the one good with the ladies?

Let's go in and take a look.

Let's go.

Let's go "help" these sissies.

Today I have to cure these sissies.

Be quiet.

What are you?

Do you know what this place is?

What is this place?

New recruits camp, right?

Yes, yes, yes....

Who said to deal with some women?

You have your ways.

No, I don't, I don't.

The registry is not right.

Go over,

bring your chief in here.

Don't talk nonsense, just go and get him in here.

Chief!

That, the name registry isn't correct.

Come in and take a look.

What's wrong?

All wait.

What's wrong?

What are you doing?

Young lord, by the will of heavenly god.

I've come specifically to deal with you.

Knight,

There should be a reason even for killing me.

There is absolutely no bad blood between us.

Look how scared he is.

Yu Jing, we are running out of time. Stop fulling around

Knight, I will speak frankly.

What do you plan to do?

You don't need to be afraid.

We just want to invite you,

to do us a favor.

We are at your command if you need anything.

Command, command....

The names on the registry,

if you could scratch them all out.

How can we do that?

Can't scratch it.

It has to be done.

All right then.

This is for your sake.

Otherwise, once the registry is handed up.

The numbers don't match,

don't you fear punishment?

The numbers are correct.

One by one,

I recorded them one by one.

Someone come and help, someone is robbing,

Please come and help.

These Jurchen soldiers are all stupid.

Let's go.

Once we climb over this mountain,

We are leaving here.

I'm finally going home.

Yes,

Really close to home.

Tired?

No, I'm not tired.
