(Episode 30)

What happened?

Go put Maeum to bed.

He was fine this morning. What happened to him?

This happened because of Kang Jiyu.

What?

She took Maeum to the playground,

and he fell off the slide because she was careless.

Is he badly hurt?

He got 8 stitches on his forehead.

Goodness.

Father, I can't let this slide.

Please let me fire her.

Dad.

Yes?

Get some more sleep.

Where is Miss Jiyu?

Miss Jiyu?

It wasn't Miss Jiyu's fault.

Okay.

Don't scold Miss Jiyu.

Okay.

I won't scold Miss Jiyu.

Maeum is awake. Go on in.

Where are you going?

Don't even get me started.

The other employees were so on alert

as soon as we appeared.

- Really? / - Yes.

It was like a Mexican standoff.

It's no different to warfare.

We may not be holding swords,

but a war has begun.

Hey, stop overreacting.

I couldn't do any work

because I was worried all day.

Don't worry. We'll be fine.

Tell me if you need help with anything.

I'll help you out.

The best help you could give us

would be none other than financial support...

Hi, Jichan.

What? Why?

Which hospital?

Jiyu.

Why are you here, Seonho?

Jichan hasn't finished work yet, so I came instead.

What happened?

Are you hurt?

I'm okay...

Why were you at the hospital?

Something came up.

You must be busy. I'm sorry.

I know they're too big for you...

But luckily, I had an extra pair in the car.

Once again...

I left you alone.

I shouldn't have left you alone

no matter what the circumstance.

Today...

I'll have to let you go.

I'm sorry.

But tomorrow...

I won't leave you alone...

Nor just let you go.

Here it is.

Thank you.

Do you normally lose your phone and shoes

when emergencies happen?

I know.

Don't worry about the child.

When I was young

I hurt my head and knees countless times.

That's part of growing up.

I feel bad when I think about him.

I feel bad that he has no friends.

I feel bad that he's always intimidated among adults.

I was so scared...

When I thought something bad would happen to him.

I should've been more careful.

It's all my fault.

It was an accident.

It was an unexpected accident.

Go home and get some rest.

You must have been shocked.

I was so out of it...

I didn't even ask how your first day at work was.

It was amazing.

You look like you don't believe me.

Should I get the company's surveillance video?

That's the way. Please smile.

My wish is to see you smile.

You're a mother with a child.

You're a mother with a child!

Hey, Half-Half.

Why you punk.

Now it's not just half,

you ignore 80% of the things I say.

Hey, Half-Half.

Why don't you invest in me?

You must have a lot of money saved up.

I had an amazing dream last night.

A huge bundle of cash ran straight for me.

It means I'm going to get struck with money luck.

Just be careful of

being struck by a cash-in-transit van.

Goodness. You sure know how to sprinkle

salt to someone's wounds.

How dare you come here?

How dare you, after what you did to my son?

Get out.

I'm very sorry about Maeum.

I'm sure I warned you.

Never to show your face in front of me or Maeum.

You're fired. Get out!

What's all the ruckus?

What's going on?

Maeum getting stitches on his head...

It was all because of Kang Jiyu.

I heard he wasn't hurt bad.

That's all that matters.

All children grow up getting hurt.

You're so fussy.

Must you always cause such a fuss?

Anyway...

Why did the Chairman's caregiver go to

pick up Maeum?

We have the maid and his mom.

The thing is...

If you hadn't picked him up,

this never would've happened.

You should just focus on being the caregiver.

Why go and do things you weren't asked to?

Why is it so noisy out here?

Hey, fool. Come inside.

You don't let personal matters affect work, right?

Maeum's hurt and you can't go to work. Poor you.

Let's go, honey.

You look terrible compared to yesterday.

I'm sorry.

It's not like you did it on purpose.

No need to feel so bad.

But still...

If it bothers you that much...

Take a few days off.

Until Maeum gets better.

Since you'll feel bad seeing Seorin.

You should do as I say.

I'm sorry.

Why are you crying?

Someone would think your own child got hurt.

You may go.

Is that Maeum's food?

He must have no appetite. He didn't touch it.

He's a picky eater as it is.

He must have lost his appetite because he got hurt.

What did the chairman say?

He said to take a few days off.

Good. Do as he says.

Madam won't leave you alone with her temper.

You should avoid the greatest trouble for now.

Take a few days off.

Yes.

Anyway, it'll be so hard for me without you.

Do you think Maeum would eat some porridge?

I can do it. You should get going.

I'll go after I do this.

Well, Maeum does like your food.

I hope he eats even a little bit.

Don't you listen to anything I say?

How dare you ignore me!

I heard Maeum lost his appetite.

Please let him try this.

Get out right now.

Don't make me drag you out.

Please let me see Maeum before I go.

What?

Why would you see my son?

What right do you have?

Get out of my sight.

Don't show your face in front of Maeum again!

Something's not right.

It's like she's scared of me seeing Maeum.

I know that I let him get hurt but...

This doesn't make sense.

You're strangling me, mom.

You have interviews with the designers.

Are they trustworthy?

Who am I?

I've confirmed their skills as well as their reputation.

I won't allow any mistakes with this.

The chairman must select our proposal.

- Be thorough. / - Don't worry, sir.

Also, the person you wanted to meet

to ask about Oh Dongsu...

They're in your office right now.

I poured in all my money, time and effort...

It was really difficult to get them here but I did...

Director. Director!

Director!

He was waiting right here.

He must've gone to the restroom.

I'll go and get him right away.

Oh Dongsu.

Follow me.

The number you have dialed is unavailable...

He's not picking up and he's not in the restroom.

Where did he go?

Geez...

What are you doing here?

Why else?

Someone is desperate to know about you,

so I made some time.

Wow, you've come a long way.

I guess you had good reason to leave the game.

You know what happens

if you don't keep your mouth shut, don't you?

No need to get scared.

I'll listen to you so long as the price is right.

By the way how's Hong Sunbok?

Don't be like that, friend.

What if I spill the beans?

I hear the director here

is really curious about Hong Sunbok.

How careless must you be?

That Yu Gangu calls in a thug

all the way to Seoul!

This...

Will never happen again.

If I see...

That thug again.

You'll die in his stead.

Do you understand?

What do you mean he disappeared?

He was waiting right here just a few minutes ago.

I don't know what happened.

You have to bring him back here, no matter what.

(Slush fund investigation) (Dad's accident)

(Oh Dongsu on the day of the accident)

(Hong Sunbok)

You're a mother with a child.

You're a mother with a child!

Did I really have a child?

When did you get up?

I just got up early today.

What are you making?

The child, at the house I work, got hurt.

I'm going to take him some snacks.

You could just buy them for him at the store.

Why cook it yourself?

You're so fussy.

Jiyu is so frugal.

You would've been a great mother.

Mrs. Park.

What did you just say?

Huh? What?

You said I would've made a good mother.

Geez, what's the point in asking her?

It's not the first time she's said it.

You should be used to her nonsense by now.

Why are you being so sensitive?

Mrs. Park.

I'm just saying.

Because you're so frugal.

I made some snacks for Maeum.

Please give them to him.

You came all this way. You should give them to him.

It's okay.

Please don't say they're from me.

Just look after him.

Okay.

Is Maeum...

Getting better?

He is.

Madam isn't going to work...

She's looking after him. So don't worry.

Okay.

Anyway, Maeum will be so happy.

He loves your food.

I'll take good care of him,

so don't worry and get going.

Okay, thank you.

What's this?

It's Maeum's snack time.

Maeum, let's have some snacks

then read the rest.

Yes.

Maeum, what's wrong?

Maeum, where are you going? Maeum!

Maeum!

Maeum! What's wrong with you?

Where are you going?

Maeum!

No...

No!

Miss Jiyu!

Maeum!

Let me see.

How did you know I was here?

I ate the carrot cake

and it felt like you were here.

I see.

How's your head? Is it okay?

Yes. I'm all better now.

That's a relief.

I was worried.

Excuse me...

- Wait... Maeum... / - Miss Jiyu!

Miss Jiyu!

- Go inside. / - Miss Jiyu!

- Miss Jiyu! / - Maeum!

What are you trying to pull?

I heard he wasn't eating so I made some snacks...

Why would you worry about my son's snacks?

Who do you think you are?

Still, you shouldn't take the child so forcefully...

He's my child. My son! He belongs to me.

What are you up to?

First you steal my husband.

Now are you trying to steal my child?

From me?

What did you say?

If not then, what is this?

How could you think that?

My husband. My child.

Don't even think you can take them.

Don't even come near them.

Don't even show your face.

Please, disappear from my sight.

Otherwise, I might end up killing you.

Maeum, why are you crying?

Don't you want your cake?

Where did he go? What happened to him?

Get rid of that.

Let me feed him first.

I said get rid of it.

Yes, Madam.

From now on,

you prepare his snacks.

But he doesn't eat what I make.

You can't even make a child's snack?

Maybe you should look for another job.

No, no. I'll do it.

I should make it.

Maeum, why are you crying?

I want to play with Miss Jiyu.

I can play with you, Maeum.

Play with me, okay?

Stop crying.

Stop crying. Stop.

Stop crying.

What happened to that man who knows Oh Dongsu?

You said you'd bring him back.

The thing is...

He won't answer his calls

and he's gone into hiding.

What do you mean?

Those people are just so unpredictable.

But I won't give up and I'll find his whereabouts.

You must bring him here. Do you understand?

I understand.

Mrs. Park, our maid, said that her daughter's name

is Hong Sunbok.

- Wait. Excuse me... / - Miss Jiyu!

Miss Jiyu!

What's wrong? Did something happen?

No. But what brings you here?

I missed you...

Don't be so shocked.

It's about getting your memory back.

I said I'd look into Oh Dongsu and

Hong Sunbok, right?

Did you find out something?

I wish I did...

But the man who was going to tell me

about Oh Dongsu and Hong Sunbok

suddenly disappeared.

Disappeared?

Yes. I'm looking for him again...

But I think we need to

find out more about Hong Sunbok.

You said your maid's daughter's name

was Hong Sunbok, right?

Yes. But from what I heard she died.

She died?

Yes.

Do you have any photos of her at your house?

Photos?

Yes. Rather than just knowing her name,

it'd be good to know her face as well.

I'll have a look.

Then I'll wait out here.

If you find it, please bring it to me.

You should go home.

I'll contact you if I find one.

What happened?

It's nothing.

I should get going.

Let me know if you find a photo of Hong Sunbok.

That isn't right. You can't do that.

You should never break family bonds.

Maeum finally fell asleep.

You watch Maeum from now on.

Until I convince father to fire Kang Jiyu...

I don't want Maeum to see her.

You take him to kindergarten.

And take him to the academy afterwards.

I understand.

Family bonds?

There's no such thing.

I won't lose.

Neither to Kang Jiyu nor to my fate.

I won't lose.

I'm Maeum's mother.

I'm his mother.

(Secrets of Women)

He's here.

The man who said he'd tell us about Oh Dongsu.

Now you're having someone else tailing me?

I don't believe anything you say any more.

Do you have any photos of Sunbok?

Just look in your yearbook if you're curious.

My yearbook?

Yes. She went to the same school as you.

What exactly are you afraid of, Seorin?

Now that Yu Gangu knows the name Hong Sunbok,

the person most dangerous to me is Kang Jiyu.
