"The Moon Will Remember" Singer: Guo Jing - Lyrics: Tang Tian - Melody: Wei Guobin

♫ I want to ask the distant moon if that is you ♫

♫ Wearing rainbow colored clothes, dancing under the falling flowers, and accompanying me through the years ♫

♫ Is that you? But the moon won't speak ♫

♫ The shadows in pairs is a line from a love poem ♫

♫ Protect my little light so it doesn't drift into the wind ♫

♫ There is light in the dark and a wide umbrella in the rain ♫

♫ When the rims of my eyes become red, you hold out your hands to me ♫

♫ My tears then blossom in your palm ♫

♫ Protecting my slight stubbornness and accompanying me to watch the moon ♫

♫ It will remember how we looked shoulder to shoulder ♫

♫ Even with the onslaught of time and hardships caught on the corners of our eyes ♫

♫ It's still all the sweetness you've given me ♫

[Episode 4]

Since it is to be a national tribute, if we differentiate it from the materials that make everyday clothing,

wouldn't it look more dignified?

Boss Xie, there is no need to worry. The Magical Color Silk has an exquisite color and is of the best quality.

Even if it were to be used to make the nation's gift, it would still be wonderful.

If there are no more outstanding methods, using this one is still acceptable.

Your Highness and other officials, your considerations are accurate.

Since this is to be a national tribute, it is naturally most important to strive for respectable quality.

Once I return home, I will immediately use my efforts, and I will absolutely not let Your Highness or you two officials down.

In that case, we will await your good news.

The Xie family is working very hard for the country.

If you face any difficulties that I can help with, I will definitely do my best.

Since this is a national matter, my Affair Bureau Palace will naturally help as best we can.

I will definitely do my best.

Boss Xie, go prepare.

Yes. I will take my leave.

Your Highness, the Xie family was built from the ground up.

The fabrics it makes are for the most part cheap and unsophisticated.

You mustn't pour all of your hope onto it alone.

How about you let the Su family also join?

Benefiting from opening multiple options is safest.

Lord Gao, your words are reasonable.

Your Highness, this is a matter regarding the nation. You mustn't take it lightly.

If this is the case, why did we even pick a tribute merchant back then?

All of us can clearly see the skill of the Xie family.

I trust that they definitely will not fail the public's expectations.

You two need not worry about it.

Xiao Lu, let's go.

Nonsense!

What on earth?

I can't believe that idle prince acted so distastefully arrogant in front of the affair bureau palace.

Look at his horrid conduct.

Why didn't I smash him to death back then?

I keep feeling like I've seen that Xie Feng somewhere.

Your Highness, are you having another headache?

How about I return to the palace and invite an imperial physician to take another look at you?

No need. It's just a slight headache. There's no need to stir the entire palace.

Your Highness, ever since you came back, everything you see is something you've "seen somewhere before".

Headache... headache...

[Affair Bureau Palace]

The Magical Color Silk's current manufacturing method is already the best it can be.

How can we make it look dignified?

Father, the Magical Color Silk that we currently manufacture is created using shell powder.

Since we want it to be lavish and dignified, why don't we revert to the pearl powder we used in the past?

The luster of pearl powder is fuller and glossier.

If we use it to create the Magical Color Silk, then when it is carelessly glanced at, there is not a noticeable difference from the other.

However, upon closer inspection, you will be able to discover the difference.

Doesn't doing this amplify our diligence?

It's just that the cost of constructing the pearl powder is very expensive.

- In such a short amount of time, we... - Father, this isn't important!

Prince Luo said that if we faced any difficulties, we could find him immediately.

I'm sure that asking for money from the palace in order to produce these national tributes would be acceptable.

That's wonderful! With this, our family's Magical Color Silk will definitely show its extraordinariness!

If we have the chance, we must thank that Prince Luo in person.

I... I spoke incorrectly.

No, no. It's a good idea.

The imperial family bestowed the highest quality pearl powder to the Xie family in order to help them produce the Magical Color Silk.

That batch of pearl powder is a high-end imperial product, and it is incredibly hard to get a hold of.

Using pearl powder to replace the shell powder used in the past

would not look any different from the past version upon a careless glance.

Only by viewing it carefully will you be able to see its elegance.

I don't understand what kind of luck that Xie family has.

Such a precious item fell into their hands.

Huge luck really fell right into their hands.

Fell into their hands?

How could things fall into their hands so easily?

Lord Gao.

This is the crime of deceiving royalty! It will result in beheading!

Boss Su, what kind of nonsense is that?

You and I both know. Who would ever want to behead you?

But if we use normal pearl powder to replace imperial pearl powder...

If we really get caught...

Don't we have Lord Yuan on our side?

Why would you have cause to worry when Lord Yuan is on our side?

Well...

Boss Su, don't forget.

Your Su family did not manage to nab the title of tribute merchant.

Your future interactions with the Affair Bureau Palace

will no longer be so easy. If, in the future, you plan to continue doing business with the Affair Bureau Palace,

wouldn't you have to rely completely on socializing with me and Lord Yuan?

You aren't even willing to do such a little thing.

How could we trust you in the future?

Moreover, Boss Su,

surely you haven't forgotten who stole the title of tribute merchant from you?

If we don't topple the Xie family,

would you, Su Gongming, ever have an opportunity to make a name for yourself?

Boss Su,

the only family in the capital that is currently able to compare to your Su family

is the Xie family, and the Xie family has just gotten the title of tribute merchant.

From here on out, they will expand day by day and get better and better.

When that time comes, will your Su family have any benefits?

If I were you,

I would definitely not allow the Xie family an opportunity to shine.

Second Grand Master, you can tell these are untrendy, low-tier products from just glancing at them.

Will you really be able to dupe them successfully?

After turning them into powder and using sulfur to bleach them,

even a heavenly power would have a hard time finding difference between real and fake.

- But what if— - Shut up.

If anyone dares to leak out even part of this plan, I will not let them off easily.

No matter whether it's normal or low-tier pearl powder,

it is our Su family that is paying for them.

It's not as if our family has a fortune of gold or silver. How could we afford to mess around like that?

Your Highness, Your Highness! Things are bad!

According to recent reports, the Xizhou emissary is in trouble.

Good, good.

What happened here?

To reply to Lord Yuan, the emissary started to sporting large masses of rashes.

Moreover, they are inflamed and festering. These two can still be considered as having light symptoms

because the emissary in the back room is in a coma.

After a preliminary diagnosis, it seems like the materials from the clothes they were wearing

were not normal.

Yesterday, we wore your imperially bestowed clothing and became like this.

You must explain this to us!

You two emissaries, please calm down. Our Affair Bureau Palace will definitely get to the bottom of this

and give you two an explanation.

Since this matter is correlated with the clothing the emissaries were wearing,

how about we summon the tribute merchant and ask for a clear explanation?

No need to summon them. Let's report to the imperial family directly.

[Xie Manor]

Open the door! Open it right now!

Who's there?

Why are you breaking into a private residence?

Master! Young master!

Master!

Master.

- Dad! - Arrest everyone.

Go and search every room. No stone left unturned!

Hold on!

What crime have we committed, that you're searching our home and arresting us?

What crime?

The clothes that your family made for the ambassadors

were discovered to have poisonous pearl powder

which caused the Xi ambassadors to be completely poisoned.

- This is a capital crime! - You're lying!

Don't be rash; let them search.

Let's see if they're able to find anything.

- Search! - Yes sir!

We've been wronged.

Lord, we've found the imperial gift still sealed.

Embezzling an imperial gift?

Men, take them all away.

It can't be. Our family's cloth definitely has no problems. There's something wrong here.

Whatever you think, wait till you get to the Imperial Court of Justice. I don't have time for this.

- But— - We—

Xiao Ni, Feng. Our Xie family is upright and open.

We'll get our justice with the government there.

What you did offended the government officers,

causing the opposite of what we want. The country is as bright as the sun and moon, T/N: A well-ordered political system will allow for peace.

how could it be without law?

Our Xie family behaves uprightly and stand with principle.

We're not afraid of anything. Let's go!

- Master! - Take him!

My lord, since entering the Imperial Court of Justice, the Xie family

has no way out now.

Lord Yuan.

Your highness Prince of Luo.

What brings you here today?

I heard that the Imperial Court of Justice has arrested the entire Xie family.

Xie Lin Fu has acted presumptuously

in order to conceal a batch of first-class pearl powder by secretly messing with the cloth.

This caused the envoys from Xizhou to contract sickness.

The royal family has ordered the investigation of this matter.

Although I haven't much interacted with the Xie family,

but I feel that he is an upright person, and wouldn't have done something like this.

Is there some misunderstanding here?

I was the one who took out the pearl powder and gave it to him.

This cloth was made personally by the Xie family.

I don't know where the misunderstand could be.

That's right, my lord. Physical evidence and witnesses are here.

This Xie family is of low status and upbringing,

so they haven't seen many valuable things before.

They even envied the royal family's possessions,

they must not care much for their lives.

What is the status of the investigation right now?

The royal family is extremely angry; they have ordered the Imperial Court to try this case tomorrow

in order to show other businesspeople that they should not try something similar.

Besides the clothing that you've mentioned,

has any other evidence been discovered?

The case will be tried tomorrow. If Prince Luo is interested,

you can go and see for yourself.

Of course I will be there.

I believe that the Xie family would not do such a thing.

This case must be tried beyond a shadow of a doubt.

Let's go.

This prince likes to stick his fingers where he doesn't belong.

How exactly did you instruct Mr. Su?

I said to substitute ordinary pearl powder,

what did he use?!

Let me tell you, if anything happened to the Xi region ambassador,

- they would have your and my heads! - Lord, don't be angry.

Lord, it's all because of that man's recklessness.

I reckon that he must not have wanted to pay more money, so he thought of this cheap idea.

You can't blame me for this, my lord.

I originally wanted to use this matter to take away the Xie Family's imperial merchant title.

The mishap with the Xizhou envoys is a major diplomatic relations matter.

Don't get us involved in this matter as well.

Rest assured, Your Excellency. The Xie family pleading guilt is already a done deal.

As for the person surnamed Su, he is already under our control.

I assume he wouldn't dare to create trouble either.

[Imperial Court of Justice]

Bring in the accused.

Bun?

Kneel down!

Your honor, the case hasn't been heard.

Why have the convicts already been tortured?

This person has continuously cried out that he has suffered a grievance in prison.

He was very noisy. I had no choice, but to let him endure some suffering.

The case has not been concluded, how could you torture them without permission?

If he were innocent,

how will the Imperial Court of Justice explain themselves?

Prince Luo, the Imperial Court of Justice has always tried court trials this way.

If Prince Luo has any objections, you can present it to the Emperor some other day.

You-

The convict Xie Linfu

took advantage of when tributing cloth to the Palace

to steal the royal family's bestowment of first-class pearl powder.

This caused the Xizhou envoys to fall into great sickness.

Do you admit to your crimes?

Your Honor, the pearl powder

was personally handed over to me by Lord Gao.

I used the secret ancestral method to make the cloth. I never stole anything.

I ask Your Honor to make a fair judgment.

The Imperial Court of Justice has currently already found evidence. You still dare quibble?

I do things straightforwardly and upright.

I have not partaken in any stealing!

If so, bring in the material evidence.

[Sealed Bestowment]

This-this is the bestowed pearl powder Lord Gao gave me.

However, it was all used up during the cloth-making process. It is not possible to still be intact and sealed.

How dare you! How dare you quibble in court when the evidence is irrefutable?

The bestowment pearl powder the Affair Bureau Palace given you

was hidden inside your manor. You instead used another low-quality pearl powder

that was ground and fumigated

passing it off as the bestowed pearl powder when making the cloth.

What I used was the pearl powder given by the Affair Bureau Palace.

Xie Linfu, the pearl powder I gave you

was this one. The seal is not broken either.

You actually dared to secretly store it? You really do have the audacity.

The pearl powder sent by the Affair Bureau Palace originally

- definitely wasn't that box. - How dare you, unruly person!

You dare venomously slander others in the law court and frame an imperial appointed official!

This was found when your manor was searched.

You also admitted yourself the item used before was different.

Isn't that stealing?

Right now, everything is very clear.

Xie Linfu was presumptuous and stole the bestowed item

causing the Xizhou envoys to contract illness.

This almost caused a disaster in diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Lord He, how will you penalize them in this case?

I ask for Your Honor to make a clear judgment.

Please let off my wife and children.

We have been wronged!

Be quiet! Xie Linfu from the Xie's Silk and Cloth Shop

took advantage of being the imperial merchant and embezzled the bestowment.

His behavior and conduct were very abominable.

Now with irrefutable evidence,

I sentence Xie Linfu, his wife, and children

to be exiled and never again to step foot in the capital.

All the property of the Xie family will be confiscated.

The court session is adjourned!

Your Honor, our family do our duty in business

and have never cheated any of our customers. We must have been framed by a nasty person.

I ask Your Honor to make a fair judgment.

Your Honor! Your Honor, we were wronged!

- We were wronged, Your Honor! - Move!

- The Xie family would never do such a disreputable thing! - Your Honor!

Bun!

Hurry!

♫ To handle the impermanence, how far must I look into the distance? ♫

♫ To be able to stay by your side ♫

♫ My only wish is to live my life with my love ♫

♫ Even if the fireworks scatter ♫

Prince, do you have a headache again?

Ever since I lost my memory, every time I remember things of the past my head will hurt.

Then simply don't think about it.

Anyway...Anyway, it's all in the past.

Today that young lady...

Saw-The young lady you saw?

There must have been so many.

- What are you saying? - I didn't say anything wrong.

You are being flippant again?

I keep feeling that I lost something very important.

Prince, what are you thinking of right now?

I never would of thought

the Xie Family that looked so upright and honest

could do such a thing.

Prince, as merchants profit comes first.

Besides, there is no knowing what is in a man's heart.

How could you be so certain that they are upright and honest?

Xie's Silk and Cloth Shop

using the name of being the imperial merchant

embezzled the bestowment causing disaster in diplomatic relations.

Now as punishment, all the Xie Family's property will be confiscated.

Xie Linfu, his wife Liu Shi,

his son Xie Feng and his daughter Xie Xiaoni

are exiled never to step foot in the capital again.

Hurry up!

Walk!

Hurry up.

- Young miss! - Over there!

- Madam! - Young miss! Young master!

- We finally found you. - What are you doing? Go back!

Officer, please do me a favor?

I have something to tell you. Take this money.

Please, just this once.

- It's good as long as you are fine. - Hurry up.

Master.

Madam.

Right now,

our Xie family has run into misfortune.

Thank you for coming to see us off.

You all

have followed the Xie family for many years.

I should've provided you all with a good future prospect.

Now,

I can only be ashamed to face you.

I am incompetent.

I'm ashamed to face all of you.

Lord, please do not say such words.

These are all the clothes we made overnight and food.

Please keep warm when you are on the way.

Young Miss.

Don't cry, Hongrui.

As we part today,

we don't know if we can see each other again in this life.

I have buried jewelry under the willow tree next to the Southern Wall.

Quickly go and find them before the government comes for them.

And take them to do a small business.

No, no. I don't want to.

You don't have parents.

This is the dowry I've prepared for you.

Please don't let down my kindly intentions.

All of you rest assured! As long as I, Xie Xiao Ni, am not dead,

I will definitely come back and restore the Xie family's prestige.

Enough, that's it.

Hurry and go! Go, go.

Young Miss!

Lord, Madam!

Take care!

- Master! Young Miss! - Hurry and leave!

- Master! - Madam!

- Take care! - Move!

Hurry up!

Ni'er!

Ni'er! Wait a moment!

- Ni'er! - What are you doing? - Let me go there!

Go back!

Go! Hurry up!

Ni'er!

I will surely think of a way to save you guys!

[Su Manor]

Second Uncle! Second Uncle!

Second Uncle, Second Uncle!

Save the Xie family! I'm begging you, save them!

What has the Xie family getting exiled got anything to do with you?

I know that you are on friendly terms with the Affair Bureau Palace.

As long as you go and plead Lord Yuan for mercy. Don't let the Xie family be exiled!

- Second Uncle, I'm begging you. - Are you crazy?

Second Uncle, the Xie family absolutely wouldn't steal the bestowment.

They are not that kind of people!

Wenyu,

it's not that I don't want to save others.

We all are doing business in the capital. It could even be said that we are intimately interdependent.

How do I have that kind of face in the Affair Bureau Palace?

The matter of the Xie family was due to the Emperor being enraged.

Who would go and get themselves in trouble at this point in time?

Wenyu, the Xie family is only gettng exiled.

It's not like they lost their heads. They just have to stay exiled for a couple of years,

and wait for the matter to quiet down. They might be able to come back.

- Really? - Yes.

I got it.

Lord Gao.

Enough, don't look that side.

Don't stand here anymore either.

I've already helped you to plead Lord Yuan for mercy.

Lord Yuan will not punish you.

Lord Gao,

it's all my fault.

I've troubled you.

Look at you.

There is a limit to corruption.

I let you use the ordinary pearl powder

and yet you actually used a low grade pearl poweder.

Fortunately, the Xizhou envoys fully recovered.

Or else you, me,

and Lord Yuan

are all involved in this somewhat.

I know my mistake. I deserve to die.

But speaking of which,

You do, do your things cleanly and well,

That box of the bestowed pearl powder

was ingeniously planted.

Speak. How many years have you been working for the Xie family?

Half-

half a year. Because

I stole some dye and sold it. I got caught by the manager.

That's when I got kicked out.

You are quite an honest person.

After getting kicked out of the Xie family you came and destroyed my Su family. Speak!

How many things did you steal from my workshop?

Master-master! I-I-I

I only stole once.

Master, I will definitely mend my ways. I dare not. I don't dare to do it again!

Do not. Please do not send me to the prison.

Help me send the same thing to the Xie family. Can you do it?

If you do this right, then you do not need to go.

If you cannot do it, or it is leaked out into the public,

You should just wait to die then.

I will definitely complete the task! I will definitely complete the task!

Thank you Master for bestowing mercy upon me.

Young master, this is our new cloth.

- I just came back. - Cousin, I haven't seen you in so long.

Steward Wu, isn't that the Zhao Wu who was fired? How come he is back?

He has a cousin working in our workshop. He came to visit. I couldn't chase him out.

Cousin, I still have work to do. I can't talk to you now. Come over for drinks when you're free.

It is just that we worked for so long,

and didn't get anything out of it.

Your Excellency, the two lords took risks to lend the pearl powder to help me suppress the matter.

How could I be ungrateful, Your Excellency?

This is a gift for both Lords.

Boss Su, you're too polite.

[Five hundred and two exact]

Oh by the way, Boss Su.

Although the Xie family convicted a crime,

and have been sentenced to exile,

but there will always be an opportunity to try again.

You wouldn't leave future trouble for yourself, would you?

Lord Gao, I'm only a businessman.

I can never kill a person.

You saying such a thing,

I don't understand it.

I should remind you.

This, in the end,

was all done by you.

If the secret has been exposed,

you'll have to shoulder the burden yourself.

As for whether the Xie family is staying,

you can think it over yourself.

By the way,

there's still that Zhao Wu.

How do you plan to punish him?

Your Excellency, the old house in my hometown is currently empty.

so I sent him to keep it in place. I mean, it is quite a distance from the city.

Again, he is scared of the prison, obviously he would do things well.

Then you should take you leave now.

I'll take my leave.

I'm not sending you off.

Su Gongming sure is obedient during this time.

It's just a pity for that box of pearl powder.

It's a rarely seen high quality product.

That idiotic Su Gongming ruined everything, making us unable to reel in anything.

We toiled around for nothing.

The future is long. There's no rush.

Move faster! Hurry up!

Hurry, hurry! Keep up!

Walk faster! Walk faster!

- Mother! - Wife, are you okay?

Faster!

Lord Officer, my mother has weak health. Can we take a rest?

What rest? I've been assigned this hard task.

I was worried that I wouldn't have somewhere to let my anger out. Hurry and move!

Walk faster!

Wine for sale! High-quality Maiden Rose.

Sir, do you want to have a drink?

Let's go! Don't hold things up.

Go, go, go.

It's so hot, and everyone's been working hard. Why don't we rest for a while?

We're just resting our legs. There won't be a delay.

Wait a minute!

Sir.

- You people, rest here for a while. - Brother, give us a few.

- Alright. - Mother!

This wine is definitely high quality. It smells so nice.

- I'll pour you some. - Pour it more full. - More full.

Is it okay?

This is not a public road.

How can there be someone selling wine here?

I feel so tired.

Oh no!

Who are you?

I'm someone that wants you dead.

Quick, run!

You can't just leave as you want.

- Father! - Mother!

Mother!

I'll kill you!

Father!

Big Brother!

Ni'er!

Big Brother!

Feng'er! Get up.

Hold this. Let's go!

Feng'er, take this. Bring your mother and Ni'er out of here.

Wife, hurry and go! Hurry up, you guys!

Wife.

Hurry and go! Quick leave!

- Father! Mother! - Run quick!

Hurry!

Hurry and go.

Go to hell!

Wife.

Go!

Be careful!

Big Brother!

Brother!

Ni'er, run quick.

I won't!

Hurry and get up.

Ni'er, take this ocarina. Father gave this to us.

You need to keep it well. You have to stay alive!
