Was fed by a dragline

Targeting gold in the steeper

Up to the 1950s,
operations like this

Pulled in tens of millions
of dollars of gold every year.

from the vault cut.

Last week, he found gold
just 15 feet from the surface.

But the old timers refilled
their holes with tailings.

So to uncover the pay zones,

Jason must constantly read
the changes in the ground.

the difference between
the old timers and us.

We've got hydraulic power.
We've got diesel engines.

We're talking 600 horsepower.

were using steam power.

A lot of times
the old timers win.

But this one, I think I'm
