This restoration has been possible with the support of World Cinema Project.

Established in 2007 by Martin Scorcese, World Cinema is dedicated

to the preservation and restoration of films in distress

representing diverse cultural heritage.

With the support of:

The source for this restoration was from a positive impression

with English subtitles provided by director Bahram Beyzaie.

Since this is the only surviving copy of the film

(all other sources were seized and destroyed), the

restoration has required a considerable amount of repair

both physical and digital.

The surviving print was badly damaged with

scratches, holes, and images cut in two.

More than 1,500 hours of work were required to complete the restoration.
