(Episode 48)

I invited Ms. Hwang.

She could be my sister-in-law in the future.

Don't you think we should get along?

What's going on?

Someone should explain it to me.

Ms. Hwang, let's leave.

Let her go, Sun Hyuk.

I'll get engaged to Chief Hwang.

I see.

You gathered us to announce your engagement to Ms. Hwang.

Am I right, Ha Jun?

Right.

So sit down, Chief Hwang and Manager Cha.

When did you two get that far?

You decided to get engaged to Chief Hwang.

You should let your parents know soon.

They'll be so happy.

Ga Heun, you're his girl.

If you falter my husband, you will make a mess here.

We should let them know soon.

I'm sorry to announce our engagement like this, Chief Hwang.

You asked me to be your boyfriend first,

so I wanted to be the first to make a move on this.

Sun Hyuk, wake up.

If you don't stop, I will stop you.

Chief Hwang,

- try this. - I'll eat what I want to eat.

Didn't you go too far without asking her opinion?

You won't have your way.

You can't handle her scars.

Honey,

it's because Ha June fell deeply in love with her.

He decided to make a surprise announcement even without asking her.

You think of Chief Hwang as your destiny.

Just like you and me.

How did Ms. Ko die?

You two were best friends.

She and Manager Cha were going to get married too.

Chief Hwang, how do you even know that?

His sister told me.

We got pretty close.

Bo Mi said Ms. Ko had an accident at the bridal shower you threw.

It must've been hard on Manager Cha since he had a wedding ahead with her.

He even tried to kill himself.

He lost the person he was going to marry.

What were you thinking, wavering him?

It's like you were waiting for your best friend to die.

But you think you two are meant to be?

That's funny.

Isn't it rather an irony of fate?

Are you done?

No. I have more to say.

You're saying it like it's a love story shaped by destiny.

It's just a story of you betraying your best friend...

by stealing her soon-to-be husband.

It's just a shameless, dirty story.

Chief Hwang,

let's stop talking about his late first love.

Mrs. Oh, explain yourself.

Since when have you had feelings for Manager Cha?

Did you wish for Ms. Ko to die?

Stop it!

No. I need to hear it.

Mrs. Oh, answer me.

Ha Ra, you killed Eun Jo.

Say it! Answer it!

Why should I tell you that?

You said it was fate.

Why can't you answer it?

Didn't you want her to die so you can steal her boyfriend?

Ha Jun, I can't stay any longer. I might get sick.

You're not coming with me?

This meat is good.

I have such a bad headache all day because of a hangover.

How come Mr. Na ended up in my room?

So, about Ga Heun...

She looks just like my dead friend, Eun Jo.

I was so surprised.

By the way, this is a top secret.

I poisoned the juice...

and killed her at her bridal shower.

Ha Ra made me do it.

You're crazy! What have you done?

Why did you say that? I can't believe it.

Well, he blacks out whenever he gets drunk.

That's good. He won't remember it.

If Ha Ra finds out, she'll kill me.

What the heck are you trying to do?

What are you doing here this late?

Your little trick made my husband fall for Ga Heun.

That's because Sun Hyuk had fallen for her already.

You think it doesn't concern you?

Ha Jun wants to get engaged to Ga Heun.

What? No way.

Ga Heun broke up with him.

I just heard him announcing it at dinner the four of us had.

While you're being a bystander, you'll lose him to Ga Heun.

He announced their engagement in front of everyone?

That's right, you stupid!

Why do you think he did it?

He wants to make it official and keep Ga Heun.

I won't let it happen. He can't do that.

I'll hold onto my husband anyhow, and you cling to Ha Jun.

Let's take care of our own problems.

Our own problems? I'm on my own?

That's what you wanted.

You quit as my maid, but I'm still telling you this...

because we go way back.

Please use your brain wisely and win Ha Jun's heart.

If you don't stop Ga Heun, I'll make you pay for it.

Ha Jun won't even look at me. What should I do?

Chief Hwang, you seem quite mad.

Was it really necessary? You even invited Manager Cha.

Fine.

I messed with your feelings, so maybe I deserve it.

But this should end here.

Making uncomfortable situations is not how you handle things.

Can't you give me a chance?

I'll treat you well so you won't think about the guy who hurt you.

I mentioned the engagement because I wanted to stop Sun Hyuk.

You just wanted to use me too.

I know. What I did wasn't right.

But I couldn't stand Sun Hyuk holding your hand.

I'm sorry.

I don't deserve your apology.

You'll find someone better than me.

I'll forget that you wanted a chance.

I'm not asking you to understand Sun Hyuk.

I just hope you know...

that Ha Ra has been deceiving Sun Hyuk.

Don't stand there like you are guilty.

It's Ha Ra who is to blame for everything.

Did you say you want Ha Jun to be engaged sooner?

That's right.

President Hwang did mention that she wants to wait...

until it becomes certain that Ha Jun inherits the company.

But don't you think we should speed things up?

I wish we could do that.

But I'll have to respect President Hwang's opinion.

We got no other choice.

How frustrating.

You haven't changed your mind...

about letting Ha Jun be your successor, have you?

Of course not.

Ha Jun has been doing a great job these days.

The board members seem to take him very seriously as well.

Ga Heun would make...

a perfect daughter-in-law of Jewang Group too.

That's right.

I know that Ms. Hwang has helped Ha Jun get his life together.

You should talk to President Hwang, then.

Make it clear to her that you are thinking of Ha Jun...

as your successor.

Would this be enough?

Oh, my goodness.

I can now tell that...

you still care a lot about me.

This is exactly why I must take your side.

Tell me whenever you need more money.

I'm working so hard to make money.

But my brother, on the other hand, is so immature...

and keeps getting in trouble.

Thank you for helping me out again.

I won't say a word to President Han.

I won't say anything about what I overhear either.

Mom.

I'll now get going and take care of my business.

What were you and Ms. Park talking about?

It's nothing.

You know, poor people just complain a lot.

Don't worry about it.

Why are you still at home?

Didn't you say you have a shoot today?

I wanted to talk to you about something before I leave.

I'm getting worried there will be articles...

about us living separately.

Can you go see my mother-in-law and make Sun Hyuk come home?

You want me to do that?

There's no problem between you two...

other than the issue about Hoon, right?

We are fine. We got no problems.

It's difficult to concentrate on acting...

while I'm having a fight with Sun Hyuk.

By the way, do you remember the gold digger...

who bothered you and dad?

How did you get rid of her?

Come on. Why do you bring that up?

I feel upset just to think about it.

It's just there's something similar going on in the movie,

so I thought it would be helpful.

At first, I just told her to stop.

I made her understand the situation from my perspective.

What if she doesn't do as you say?

If not,

I would teach her a lesson.

Did you forget how I treated the girls...

who insulted you?

(Twelve years ago)

So you are the ones who called Ha Ra an illegitimate child?

- I'm sorry. - I'm sorry.

I won't make you pay for hitting Ha Ra.

I heard you bullied Ha Ra...

to steal money from her.

Ha Ra.

Help these girls who hit you earn some money.

You should do the same.

Mom.

You want me to hit them?

I can't do that.

Let them know whose daughter you are.

Show them what happens if anyone mistreats you!

Don't let anyone dare call you an illegitimate child!

Hit them now!

Hit harder!

Do that!

- Ha Ra, I'm sorry. - I'm sorry.

- I'm sorry. - We say it again.

Actually, we didn't say it.

- Other guys did. - Right.

I'm sorry.

If you've learned a lesson,

take that money and get out of my sight!

Good job, my daughter.

This is how you make people apologize.

If anyone mistreats you,

just crush that person.

To everyone who dares to insult you,

you must show them who you are.

Do you understand?

Yes.

I got it, Mom.

Good.

Good job, Ha Ra.

That's right.

I should show Hwang Ga Heun who I am.

Is that good enough?

Please make them even sharper like needles.

Did you want to see me?

Hi. Please have a seat.

I have something for you.

What is it?

- What's this? - It's a gift.

Do you remember how we met at the handmade shoe store?

I tried to steal a pair of men's shoes from you.

Remember that?

Why do you mention that all of a sudden?

Those shoes were for the guy who made you cry, right?

I have a feeling you had bad memories associated with those shoes.

There is a saying that good shoes take you to good places.

I believe in that.

I'll convert all the bad memories you have into good ones.

Is it okay if I put these shoes on you?

Don't be so quick to judge when you don't know anything.

What?

Those were shoes that my dad was going to wear for my wedding.

I spent my final moments with my dad in those shoes.

Wait.

Were you even thinking of marrying that guy, then?

That's right.

So don't give me anything like this ever again.

Stop making me feel sorry.

How in the world would I have known...

that those were her father's shoes?

Let's meet.

Come to the rooftop.

Excuse me, Ms. Hwang.

Don't get any wrong ideas.

Sun Hyuk...

was only confused because you look just like Eun Jo, his first love.

My husband...

can't survive even a second without me and Hoon.

So please, leave my family alone.

You can do that, right?

Don't you dare seduce my husband again.

I'll kill you.

Ha Ra!

- Get off me. - Are you insane?

Ms. Hwang, are you okay?

It's bleeding.

Wipe it off with this. Let's go to the ER first.

Don't mind me.

Seriously.

Oh Ha Ra.

Flip out all you want.

Because you'll never get to have Sun Hyuk's heart.

I'll let you go crazy...

and drop you into the bottomless pit.

Are you hurt?

What happened?

Did Ha Ra do this again?

Compared to what you've done to her, it's bearable.

It's bearable?

The other employees might get the wrong idea.

I said I was okay!

I'm sorry for making you suffer.

I'll never let this happen to you again.

I am not letting you get hurt, Ga Heun.

None of it was your fault.

I was the one who swayed you.

I feel like I stole you from Ha Ra,

but no matter how much I keep taking you away from her,

you can't come back to me.

I also...

can't be with you again.

Welcome.

Where did Cho Shim go?

The owner here?

She went to a public bath.

You're Ha Ra's mother, right?

I met you at Eun Jo's graduation day in the past.

We took pictures together.

I'm Eun Jo's mother.

Eun Jo? Do you mean Ko Eun Jo?

Yes. You know my husband too, right?

All four of us got together last time too.

If she's the late Ko Sang Man's wife,

does that mean she's the one who could have been Sun Hyuk's mother-in-law?

Have a seat.

I'll get you a cup of tea.

I don't need tea.

By the way, what are you doing here?

Cho Shim let me work here.

Right. I heard you went to the same school as Cho Shim.

I've heard a lot about you.

Cho Shim and I also became friends.

So, you work here?

Does Ha Ra know about this?

Well, about that...

She was pretty angry when she came here.

Excuse me?

How much do you get paid to work here?

I'm sorry?

Even if you needed money...

Take this and quit right now.

My brother-in-law's son scrubbed my back.

Thanks, Hoon.

Come on. I told you he's not your brother-in-law.

Mom!

Fine.

Hoon, did you scrub Eun Gyul's back...

with your tiny, little hands?

Can't you hear me?

Get out of here right now!

What's that?

That's that rude Eun Hwa's voice.

Why? Is it not enough money?

I'll give you more, so get out of here now.

Please don't do this.

I want to work here.

I promised Cho Shim!

Do you understand a word I'm saying?

And how are you as stubborn as a mule?

Get out!

- Let go of me! - Lock the door and keep the boys out.

Geum Eun Hwa!

Lay a finger on my friend, Soon Jung,

and I won't let you get away with it.

How could you do this to me?

Do you remember how many things I gave you?

How dare you come in here dressed like a queen bee...

and make a scene at my restaurant?

Hey!

Don't provoke me.

I'm going to show you that from this moment,

I'm the crazy witch around here.

You come here!

- No! - Come here!

I'm not letting you go this time!

What did you say?

You want to drag my Sun Hyuk back to your house?

If people find out they're separated, they'll think there are some issues.

Convince Sun Hyuk.

Judging from your actions today,

it's so obvious how much Sun Hyuk would have suffered...

all this time.

He's not going.

I won't let him go.

Would you live with Sun Hyuk like this?

They must have had a reason...

when they decided to live apart.

How bad would it have been...

for Sun Hyuk to take Hoon out of the house?

Also, I've seen Ha Ra yelling at Hoon...

multiple times.

This time, I heard she pushed Hoon away, saying she doesn't want sight of him.

Gosh.

Shouldn't you send her to a mental hospital at this rate?

What? A mental hospital?

So?

Are you saying you'll let them get a divorce?

Why not?

Is that so?

Then, before they get a divorce,

give me back everything I've given you so far.

What are you...

- Hey. - Doing?

Oh, my.

Here.

My gosh.

- Here. - Oh, my.

- Here. - Oh, no.

Take them. Happy?

How unclassy.

What?

Look.

- Goodness. - Do you want my underwear too?

You're ridiculous.

Hey, where are you going?

Take them, you wench!

Mom, good job.

- Oh, my head. - Cho Shim.

I did not do a good job!

What would I do if she really takes away this restaurant?

- Cho Shim. - Oh, boy.

So, why did you come out of there?

I merely had a drink with Se Rin because she called me.

She was too drunk, so I brought her home.

I only fell asleep in her room before I realized it.

Is that true?

If you ever leave a stain on her life,

you're going to be eliminated without anyone noticing.

Are you sure nothing happened?

Actually, I can't remember anything.

Of course!

Nothing happened.

Se Rin is the future daughter-in-law of the Jewang family.

You know that my dream is to be part of a wealthy family, right?

If you ruin my dream,

you'll instantly be dead.

Unless you want to be found dead,

do a better job.

Move.

That guy, Ha Jun, is fed up with Se Rin.

I remember until then.

This is why I recorded our conversation.

It was my first time having a drink with Se Rin.

I couldn't afford to forget about our sweet date if I blacked out.

You can never tell anyone about this.

I poisoned the juice...

and killed her...

at the bridal shower.

And Ha Ra made me do it.

Se Rin had such a big secret.

What did Madam Black say?

Am I really out of the group?

Yes. You've put me in a tight spot.

You said you intended to invest Jewang Group's secret fund,

so Madam Black came all the way down here.

She's infuriated.

She is?

She came unannounced...

and asked me to show her the safe.

I was just flustered at the time.

You know...

how small I get when it comes to money.

You still have hope.

"Make excuses in your grave of regrets."

As long as she didn't say that, she'll call you again.

She did say that to me.

"Make excuses in your grave of regrets. Adios."

That's what she said to me.

She even said "Adios"?

That makes it really serious.

What do I do?

Dr. Choi. No, my son.

I'll give her everything, including the secret fund.

Please ask her to give me one last chance.

Just once, Dr. Choi.

I beg you, son.

How can Cho Shim humiliate me?

Vice President Geum, did something happen to you?

Don't bother. What's the issue?

President Oh is in a private meeting with President Hwang.

What? A private meeting?

But I can't put a tap in his office right now.

You want to move up the engagement of Ga Heun and Director Oh?

Yes.

My mother told me about your opinion.

I heard you told her you'd agree to the engagement...

when Ha Jun is decided to become the successor. Is that right?

Yes, I did.

After we launch the new brand,

we'll start our succession process.

I'm planning to hand this company over to Ha Jun.

The board members also have high opinions of Ha Jun,

so I'm sure most of them will agree.

If that's what you think,

I'll discuss it with my daughter.

Geum Eun Hwa, you've cornered my husband into death.

Oh Byung Gook, if you were involved in that,

Ha Jun will never be the successor of this firm...

because Jewang Group will be my hunting ground later.

Ha Jun said he'll get engaged to Ga Heun?

How am I going to stop it this time?

I did pack his food because he was working late, but...

I'm scared of sly people like you. No,

I'm horrified.

Please don't be interested in me.

I'm sick of you, so please don't give me any attention.

He'll never accept my apology.

What's with the blanket?

Is someone ill?

Will you sing that for me?

Sing what?

The lullaby you sang for Hoon.

Okay.

On a big black bed There are stars embroidered

In the dark The stars are sparkling

What's going on with those two?

They seem affectionate.

Wait. I should show this to Ha Jun, right?

Ha Jun.

What are you doing here? I told you to get lost.

You have to see something.

I'm not trying to come between you two.

All I want is to let you know about the truth.

I can't stand to watch you get hurt anymore.

I don't want to listen. Just go.

Ga Heun is lying next to Sun Hyuk...

and listening to his lullaby.

What?

I've seen it with my own eyes.

Sun Hyuk doesn't look like Ha Ra's husband.

People would think he's Ga Heun's boyfriend.

So, Ha Jun, please reconsider your engagement with...

I knew it.

It was a scene you would have to watch.

Colorful Milky Way

Let's make pretty clothes

- With the moon with a round face - Byeol, are you listening?

Why are you crying?

What do you think you're doing?

Get your act together, Sun Hyuk!

You're my sister's husband!

(Miss Monte-Cristo)

Let's end it here.

I don't think I can do that.

I'm going back to my old self.

Ha Ra and Chief Hwang will go all the way.

So, you need to stop.

Can I like you, Ga Heun?

You want to get a divorce because of Ga Heun?

I've made up my mind.

I'll help you with your revenge.

Come on in.

Thank you, Mom.

So, everyone wants Ga Heun to become Eun Jo, right?

- Cheers! - Cheers!

But you know what?

I can never let that happen.
