[Episode 1]

Near the end of Ming Dynasty

Nurhaci, titled Prince Shu Le

Conquered the five tribes of Jianzhou

Not only fought against the Haixi Jurchens

but also attacked the Wild Jurchens in Donghai

At this time,

Nurhaci pretended to pledge allegiance to the Ming Emperor

Paid tribute to Emperor Wanli and swore his allegiance

However groomed the horses and drilled the troops in order to expand his power

Tteok! Tteok! (dessert)

What a busy country fair

Indeed

The king of variegated carp from Chagan Lake

Don't miss the deal

What's up

He's kicking me

Is our baby

craving for fish

Fresh and delicious

The king of variegated carp from Chagan Lake

Do you want some

Fresh and delicious king of variegated carp

No

It's pricey

It satisfies the appetite for one and appeases the hunger for two

It's worth it

Come on

Bro

Brother

Would you like a

big variegated carp from Chagan Lake

Fresh and delicious, pick any one of these

Want one?

Not a whole fish, just a chop of it

One chop

Yes

From here?

Sorry we didn't bring that much money

Can you chop a bit less than that?

Brother

This is not how you pick variegated carp

The selling point of the king of variegated carp from Chagan Lake

is its head

Just a bit less

A bit less?

Yes

How's here?

A little bit less than that

Still less?

Yeah

Alright

I'll chop where you point at

Bro

If you keep pointing that way I'll be chopping on the board

Here is good

Okay

Here you go

Just take it, no need to pay

Thank you

See? How fresh the fin is

Don't miss the good deal

Yu Yan

You accompanied me to this savage land

You sacrificed a lot

When this bitter winter ends

Everything will get better

I will go out and work hard

I promise to treat you and our baby well

like how I'd worship the Buddha

I'll never let you two suffer again

Them Han people from the Central Plains have the mythology of Nuwa creating men

Us Jurchens have the mythology of Tuoya stealing the fire

These are the gods sent from Heaven

Back in the times, Li Cheng Liang, the Prince Rong

Fought in the east of Liao River for five years

No one would have thought

The five tribes of Jianzhou

have been unified by us

Us Jurchens are also the offsprings of Emperor Yan of China

It makes no sense that

only the Han people from Central Plains could be emperor

Within five years

Us Jurchens

will rule the east of Liao River sooner or later

Our prince is the bravest Baturu (warrior in Manchu) of Jurchens

The east of Liao River must be under your reign in the near future

Is the wolf ever worried that there're too many sheep

In less than ten years

The Ming kingdom will be mine too

-Yes -Right -Correct

Dry goods

Young lady

Your pigeon is so beautiful

This is a messenger pigeon

Messenger pigeon?

It can deliver mails?

Of course, no matter how far

If we have one too

then we can send letters home

Missing home again?

No

I just thought

It's very good-looking

Since you like it that much

You can hold it for a bit

Okay

Be careful

So pretty

This brave young man masters incredible martial arts

Amazing

Bravo

Good martial arts

Your pigeon

Thank you

Is it okay?

Yeah it's doing fine

Are you alright

Yes

Get out of the way

Don't cause any trouble

Come on let's go

How dare you

touching General Huo Bu Tuo's gyrfalcon

I'm returning it

Let's go

Stop right there

Get over there

You're heading out like this after all that?

Let's go

Go get him

Don't worry, it's fine.

Incredible martial arts

Go get him

This Han dude is really good at martial arts

General Huo is here

General Huo, this Han dude from the Central Plains

Are you alright?

Of course I am

But you're causing trouble once again

Back off

They've gone too far

Now I'll announce

The prince's statement on a manuscript

On the 2nd of Feburary by Suzi River

There will be a martial arts tournament

All warriors and swordsmen are welcomed

Whoever wants to attend shall bring the bullhide order as the proof

Come on let's go check it out

The top 3 winners will be able to meet Prince Shu Le

The champion will be honored as the Jinding warrior

while receiving hunrdreds of Liang of gold, 500 cows and 500 sheep

The runner-up will receive 50 Liang of gold

300 cows and 300 sheep

The third place will receive 20 Liang of gold

100 cows and 100 sheep

Not only giving out gold but also giving away cow and sheep

The prince really invested a lot this time

These in total could have already been enough to buy the whole Black Tiger town

I'd go try out

just for the sake of the prize

This isn't easy money

If you lose the battle

the prize

will become funerary expense

Indeed

I'll go, I'll go attend it

Princess Hu Tu An

On Febuary 2nd

The prince will hold a martial arts tournament by Suzi River

Ok got it

Mo Kun is here

Let's get out of here

Honorable hero Mo Kun

The prince wants you to attend the martial arts tournament

by Suzi River on February 2nd

Tournament? Amazing!

Honorable hero Suo Lun

Honorable hero Suo Lun

Honorable hero Suo Lun

Honorable hero Suo Lun

Honorable hero Suo Lun

Honorable hero Suo Lun

Honorable hero Suo Lun

Nurhaci will hold a martial arts tournament

on February 2nd by Suzi River

Martial arts tournament?

Brilliant

It's time for us Four Tigers of Jianzhou to show off

Currently

My army of Three Banners has just been established

and is in great need to expand troops

For this martial arts tournament

You should recruit as any warriors as possible

For my use to fulfill my glorious plans

We will do our best to assist you my prince

To approach our ultimate goal

Now that the Ming royal is at its downfall and the eunuchs are holding power

The masses have no means to live

You should follow the gods' will

and replace the Ming royals

There're plenty of skillful martial artists in the Central Plains

Among them, Wudang is the honored lead

Being admired by all

I'm sure Wudang disciples

will join us this time

Today

Wudang is once again blessed by the Ming Emperor's grace

Rewarding us a plaque

The ceremony of rising the plaque now begins

Rise the plaque

The sky is dark blue and the earth is yellow

The heavenly blessings is infinite

Old fellow Wu Xiang

Today, I, Dong Fang Xiao

am punctual for the 30-year appointment

for my master Xuan Zhen Zi

Back then, Xuan Zhen Ren came to Wudang to challenge my master

Jin Guang Zhen Ren

He chose not to do it himself, considering his seniority in the Sect

So I did it for him

I only won the battle for one move by chance

Little did I expect

Xuan Zhen Ren was so staunch that he

cut his own throat in front of my master

What a pity

However

no matter what the cause was

he died on your Wudang Mountain

Today

I will show you Wudang disciples

and let you witness that

my Flying Eagle Sword is better than your Wudang Sword

The Central Plains martial arts world always looked down upon warriors from the outside

I'm worried they won't come to attend it

The Central Plains martial arts world

is the major obstacle to my Three Banners Army

conquering the Ming Kingdom

Throw back to the days when

Ming was first built

it was the Central Plains martial arts world that served as pioneers

to conquer the cities and take over villages

Slaying the enemy's leaders and chopping off their heads

Now that Wudang is leading the Central Plains martial arts world

I've come across the Ming army multiple times

and among them there were plenty of Wudang disciples

There are especially some Wudang disciples

secretly gathering information for the government

Therefore this Wudang Sect

Don't worry my prince

I have already set nets above and snares below

As long as the Central Plains martial arts world dare to attend

I will make this an one-way trip

The Heaven's blessings is infinite

Those who are already in happiness won't feel happiness

Those who already have honored reputation can't feel it either

Even if you win against my Wudang Sword today

What are you going to do with it?

I'll think about it later after winning you

Watch this

Dong Fang Xiao

I, He Qi Wu, would like to see what your deal is

He Qi Wu

I too want to battle and see

whether your Life Capturing Sword is faster

or my Flying Eagle Sword is faster

Good

Let my 72-Way Life Capturing Swordsmanship

Challenge your Flying Eagle Swordsmanship

It's all destiny

Okay

Come on now

Dong Fang Xiao

Let's stop here today

He Qi Wu has internal wounds that aren't healed yet

Why are you fighting me the hardcore way

when you are already wounded?

Kudos to you

When you recover

I'll come challenge you at Wudang Mountain again

Farewell

Qi Wu

Yes yes yes

Please come this way

Your wine

Geng Er, where should I sit down?

Valued guest, please come inside

Come this way

Okay

This way

Geng Er, where is my bowl?

Here you go

Take your time and enjoy!

Enjoy your meal and drink

Take it slowly

I'll take this

Go get some rest

Bravo

Beauty

Come on

What song is this?

This is currently the most popular song

in Jianzhou

Amazing

Come on senior sir

A toast

A toast, okay

Here, I'll carry you

Ha Bu, what are you doing?

Are you hammered?

Come tie him up!

I'm not drunk

Tie him up

Tie him

What are you doing

I'm not drunk

Tie him on the pillar

What do you want?

I'm not drunk!

Let me go let me go

Leave me alone

Why are you tying me up

Tie him up!

These huntsmen are always like this when they're drunk

You must be tired

Should I tell the manager

to send you back first

No need to

I can go back on my own

There're so many customers here now

You should concentrate on your job

Are you sure you can make it on your own?

Yes I'll just walk slowly

Be careful on the way

Come on, let's keep dancing and singing

Let's drink

Keep dancing

Excuse me

I'll bring you something to eat

A toast

Cheers

Pardon my blindness

but I don't understand why you think so highly of Wudang

The one who values Wudang the most

isn't me, Nurhaci

But the Ming Emperor

Wudang is the domestic temple of the Ming Kingdom

The Golden Palace on top of Wudang Mountain is Emperor Wanli's site of rites to deceive the world

Even if the Wudang Sect

gathers countless swordsmanship masters

They're still mortals made of flesh and bone

and can't win over the archery and artillery of our troops

The Wudang Sect serves as the leader of Central Plains martial arts swordsmanship

and has countless followers

each and all of them being incredible martial artists

They are going to be the formidable adversary to my Three Banners Army

So if we can grasp Wudang

tightly in our hands

and cut off the stairway between Ming and the heavens

Shut their Southern Gate of Heaven

Imagine, folks

Will the Ming remain a dragon?

Nah

By that time

It'll be like a turtle in the urn

Gotta get ready to be trampled over however we want to

Yeah

Cheers

Cheers

The Ming Kingdom is near its end

Jin Ding He

The Wudang Sect

I will leave it in your good hands

Yes

Yu Yan

You are...?

Come on

You've only been gone for one year

yet you don't recognize your master's junior fellow

Master uncle!

Mast uncle Wu Ji!

Why did you come here?

Why are you still giggling? Let me in the door

Yes sure, come on in!

Slowly

Here, master uncle

Please take a seat

I'll start the fire

It's very cold in here

Master uncle

Is my dad and senior brother doing okay?

In this past year, I wanted to write to them

but I was afraid that dad will get mad

Master uncle, please say something

Yan

How long have you been pregnant?

It's been seven months!

Don't worry, master uncle

We're doing pretty well here

Pretty well

You call this pretty well

Can it possibly compare to home?

You watched me growing up

You know me so well

As long as I can be with Jing Shi

I don't mind eating cheap and rough food

Yan, stop working

I have something to tell you

Come over

What is it, master uncle?

Did something bad happen at home?

Or was it my dad

No everything is fine at home

Your dad is doing good too

I'm here today

on behalf of clan leader Wu Xiang and your dad

They want you two to go back

Really?

My dad agrees that we can go back

Your dad said

The past has passed

You're his beloved daughter

How can he possibly hold grudge against you

My dad is the nicest to me

It was only me to blame that I was too capricious

and disobeyed the rules he set

and failed senior brother's feelings

making them a subject for ridicule in the martial arts world

My dad must have been very unhappy in this past year

He certainly was

Back then when

you hit the road with Geng Jing Shi with no concerns

leaving all the problems to your dad

How hard must it have been for him

It's all my fault

I was a disgrace to my dad

Don't cry, mind if it disturbs the peacefulness of the fetus

Why is Geng Jing Shi still not home?

He should be back real soon

If he knows you're here

he'll be so delighted

Brother Geng

You are...?

Guo Pu

Brother Guo Pu

It's really you

Why are you here?

This is...?

Food I brought for my wife

Ah I'm so sorry

Sorry sorry

It's no big deal

Why are you dressed like this?

Did you join Nurhaci's troops?

Come this way, I'll tell you about it

Yan, I'll head out

Why don't you leave after getting some water at least

No

I'll be waiting for you

at that hotel in town

You two pack your belongings

Let's get going tomorrow morning

Take care

Throw back to the days when my father

came to the east of Liao River alone

to track down an old murder case

and I haven't heard back from him ever since

Your father is the famous

Seven Stars Swordsman, Guo Dong Lai

I've heard his name and reputation since long ago

Brother

Have you figured out where Master Guo went?

I found some traces of clue

but now

what worries me the most isn't my father

but Nurhaci

What do you mean?

I used the alias Huo Bu Tuo

and have served in his troops for three years

I found out that

Nurhaci is an extremely ambitious man

Once he unifies the Jurchens

the next goal is no doubt the Ming

Can't believe Nurhaci has such wild scheme

I know right

Brother Geng, how did you end up here?

This is kind of embarassing

but Yu Yan and I eloped

Senior sister Yu Yan

Yes, her

Doesn't she already have engagement with senior brother?

Yes

Yu Yan and I grew up together

and had feelings for each other since a young age

However master

insisted marrying Yu Yan to senior brother

We had no choice but to run away to this savage land

Seems like

You suffered a lot on the way

We planned to conceal our identities and live incognito

staying away from the martial arts world

But now life is difficult

while Yu Yan is pregnant

Brother Geng

Let me know if you have any difficulties

I'm planning to attend the martial arts tournament

When I get the prize

I'll take Yu Yan and leave everything behind

Things might not be that simple

Nurhaci spent so much hosting the tournament

How can he possibly just give the prize away for free

I can't control that

I'll act wisely according to the situation

Okay

It's gonna be a long journey to Suzi River

Please keep this sleigh to make traveling easier

I'll see you around

Thank you brother

Take care

Take care

Jing Shi

Why are you still awake?

Waiting for you

What's making you so happy?

Am I?

No

How come

Come, I'll rub your feet

Here

Careful

Tell me, what is it?

I have good news to tell you

What good news?

Master uncle Wu Ji was here

Master uncle Wu Ji?

How did he find it here?

I have no idea

Master uncle has said

Dad isn't mad anymore

And

we're bringing him back a grandson

He'll be so happy

It's not that simple

We're in poverty now

How can we go back and face master

Don't you want to go home?

Of course

Me too

Especially when I saw master uncle today

I miss dad even more

I just want to go home and have a look

Okay, I'll do whatever you say

But it's too late today

Let's rest now

and pack tomorrow morning, okay?

Okay

Thinking of us coming home tomorrow

I'm so happy that I'm worried I might not be able to sleep

Sleep now

Cheers

Jin Ding He

You shall chop and share this wolf for us

Great

Bravo

Brilliant

Amazing knife skills

Incredible knife skills

What a pity

This is a lone wolf that lost its pack

So easily

captured by Jin Ding He's men

This wolf is like the three garrisons in Jianzhou

Unified

then vividly alive

Separated

then slew and destroyed

being chopped and shared as food

Poor one

Folks

Our Three Banners Troop has to unify like a tight rope

Only in this way

can we not be shared and chewed

We aspire to stick by Prince Shu Le's side, life or death

Life or death

We swear to follow Prince Shu Le, life or death

Come on

Let's eat meat and drink wine

Come come

A toast

Cheers

Cheers

Yu Yan suffered so much being with me

I'm a strong grown man

with decent martial arts

yet I can't promise her a peaceful life

Not to mention

When the child is born

How can I bear to see them both suffering with me

Yu Yan, please pass my words to master uncle

that he can head home first

We'll follow him right after

Just wait for me patiently at home for a couple more days

Once the martial arts tournament is done

and I get the prize and cows and sheep

I promise to return home gloriously with you

and apologize to master

Let's go

Master uncle

Master uncle

Yan

Why are you here alone

Jing Shi ran away

Ran away?

He went to attend the

martial arts tournament held by Nurhaci

Let's go

Are you alright?

Yes

March!

Come on

Cheers

Cheers

My prince

How was the tournament?

A bunch of warriors

have passed the first round

Great

Keep an eye on the Central Plains warriors

Yes sir

Come on my brothers

My prince, please. Cheers!

Cheers
