Oh, it's you

What do you want?

Give...me some...

Give...me some...

Quick...please...

l'll do anything you want

Give me a packet to get through

l beg you

Kuan Cheng-chun, it's for your own good

Then give it to me...please

Give...me some...

You are no longer a human being

You're worse than a dog

l'm a dog

Please...just give it to me...

You want a good beating, do you?

That ought to do you some good

Just one puff...please

So what about the next time?

l...don't know

You...

Kick the habit

You're still young and can hold it

Kick the habit

Otherwise, you'll be dead

Well, you're as good as dead

Please give me...just one puff

l'm no better...no better than dead!

Give me a pack of herbal tea

Tseng Chien, what's up?

Your turn

Every time you're on a job...

you always return like this

What's the matter?

Every time l see those people

They are so much worse than before

Now they're no better than a dog

What am l supposed to do?

Tseng Chien

Don't forget what we do!

What do l do?

You...

lf someone you knew became...

like this you would feel bad too

You could be a priest

Your turn to deal

What? Still no way out

Give it back...

You kill me, come on

Kuan, look at yourself

Don't you look like a human being?

How will you live without us?

You can bear it

Hang on and you'll make it

l...l can't

Tseng Chien, let me out

l beg you

Help me...Tseng Chien...

Let me out...

Let me out...

Help...help

Help...Tseng Chien...

You made it

l made it

Go back to the gym and teach kung fu

They'll be pleased to welcome you

l don't think you'll be addicted again

Tseng Chien, what sort of a person are you?

l don't know

Don't know...

Not bad today...

Master Kuan, should l strike like this?

And this

Let's practise ourselves...

Master Kuan

lt's time for you to go and teach kung fu...

at the police station

Tseng Chien, what are you doing here?

Nothing

l just came to see you

l'm relieved to see you are well

Tseng Chien, when you first came here

l didn't know you

l only knew your kung fu had a good foundation

Then l got addicted

l knew what kind of people you are

But now it seems l don't know much about you

lt's not only you

Even l don't know who l am

We have been following Tseng Chien...

and in half a month we've found...

he spent a lot of time with Kuan

They appear to be real friends

This Kuan fellow...

heads a kung fu institution...

and teaches our new guys

What about his background?

We looked into it

His record is clean

l heard he had a drug problem, then kicked the habit

A suspect who uses drugs...

and an ex-drug addict being good friends

lsn't this strange?

lndeed it is

lt's just that we know little...

about this Tseng fellow

However...

he might have connections with a secret organisation

Organisation A as referred to in the file

From what l hear, all men in the organisation...

have been trained by the boss since they were kids

They were all orphans

That's why the boss has a lot of power over them...

and the men in turn are absolutely loyal

We have scanty information on the organisation

But this rumour is accurate

Otherwise our undercover man...

wouldn't get any information about them

l think we can trust Kuan

lt's time we talked to Kuan

Please take the lead and contact him

This way

l have to go now

What do we do now?

Coach Kuan

You are...

What's the matter?

Our chief would like to see you

Sorry, l have to leave

Every city has a common point

On the outside it is glamorous

Whereas inside it is corrupt with crimes and evil

Did you call me here...

to lecture me?

No, Mr Kuan. You've used drugs before?

Yes, l kicked the habit already

l know

At least you know what a bad thing...

it is to use drugs

lndeed

But you have befriended someone...

by the name of Tseng, right?

Yes, without him, l couldn't have kicked the habit

l couldn't have done it without him

We suspect he belongs to a...

serious organized drug ring

You can help us

No l can't

He is a drug dealer

He is my friend

lt is incredible he would help you...

go off drugs

But l do believe

He helped you and saved you

Why can't you return the favour?

As long as drug dealers exist, evil is there

You should know, you were once a victim

He is my friend. l don't betray my friends

l am not asking you to

l am just asking you to do what is right

Yes, l should

Chief, please believe me

l hate drug dealers more than anyone else

Chief

What did Kuan say?

Did he give us new information?

No, but we can't force him

The lead he has given...

helped us arrest some people

But they don't even know...

there's such an organisation

Why don't we arrest Tseng?

We tried...

and got two guys with similar identities

They won't say anything

We believe after their release,

they would be heroes of the organisation

l find Kuan has many good points

Go on

His good points...

might interfere with our investigation

But they would be beneficial in the long run

May l be allowed to...

handle this case alone

l will take full responsibility

No problem

Kuan Cheng-chun

lf you continue to tail me like a dog

...l'll beat you up

Don't, l have something to say to you

l have nothing to say to the likes of you

Tseng is in trouble and has asked me to find you

He wants to see you. Please follow me

Tseng Chien

Brother Hsieh, you asked us to bring a girl here

She's the best

Brother Hsieh

Try one

Where is Tseng?

lt's him?

Go up and wait for him

Come

Come on

You should wait for Tseng

Quick, l'm getting the chills

Don't leave

Yuan Li, what is it? He refused you

No, it can't be, please take me...

Oh, you can't do it here

lt's better to do it inside the room

You may ask him

Don't look for trouble

Take me, and do whatever you like

Just give it to me

Give it to me...

Kick it

l can't, l'd rather be dead

l beg you

lf you want me they'll give it to me

l...

l'm getting the chills. Give me quickly

l have the stamina, l'll do as many as you like

Just give it to me

You can't keep that Kuan fellow

So, brother Hsieh is mad. He didn't give us too

Today...

l...don't look good

l'll...make him like me

Climb over

Don't come here, go get the drug dealers

Who should l grab?

Your good friend, Tseng. Huh?

lt's no use even if you broke the sand bag

He made a mistake of having a friend like you

Yes, Tseng is my friend

My very good friend

but what he does is none of my business

And l don't want to know about it

He is a drug dealer

We have adequate proof

Tell me, Cheng-chun

What would you do if the police wants...

to arrest Tseng?

Tell me, it's okay

l'll beat the hell out of you guys...

then tell him to escape

ls it worth doing this?

You may end up in prison

You...don't really mean to arrest Tseng

Tseng is a member of the gang

But he helps you to kick the drug habit

lt seemed he's different from other drug dealers

He must have reasons...

to stay in the gang, we guess

And he must feel terribly bad about it

Kuan Cheng-chun, he has helped you once

You should now help him

lt's late. Still practising kung fu?

Mr. Tang is...

My friend

How are you?

Please consider what l've said just now

Tseng Chien, l need to talk to you

l know what you are going to say

Don't say it, okay?

No, l have to

lt's your turn

Tseng Chien, just answer me

When will you be getting out of all these?

l can't quit

And it'd make no difference to them if l wasn't there

Someone is controlling you...

that's why you can't get out of it

Mind your own business

Be careful not to get into troubles

Troubles?

l have had them...

but it's all been resolved

You've helped me

Tseng Chien, you are in real trouble

You just don't understand at all

l understand, you are afraid

There's no point in avoiding it

Hi, recognize me?

lt's you

lt's me

Don't trouble me

You were a drug addict before

Yes, l've managed to quit

l've heard that someone helped you

How much do you know?

Not much

Okay. Goodbye

''Bally lnn''

How dare you not do what...

brother Hsieh has told you?

ln case you want to seduce him to bed

l don't believe he doesn't want you

Did you forget what Brother Hsieh told you?

No. He told me to ask Kuan to go on drugs again

l can't do it. Since he can kick the drugs...

he's after all a man

l can't make him return to his old bad habit

Bitch

Mister, you...

Kuan Cheng-chun

Thank you

You can be yourself, Miss Yuan

Brother Tseng, Kuan's not listening

Let's try the hard way

l think that...

we have traitors among us here

Don't talk nonsense, let Master decide

Yes

Do you think she can make it?

Don't worry, doctors will take good care of her...

provided that she has the determination

You've seen Tseng

Yes, it's just that l can't force him to do it

Take your time, as long as you are willing

''Loyalty''

Hsieh En

Yes

Master wants all men to get together here...

this midnight to wait for further instructions

Yes

Master said that...

whoever's been followed to this place...

will be regarded as traitor

Yes

Hsieh En, you've to be extremely careful

You've to be here twice a day

Brother Tseng, don't worry

l won't be tailed

Master has chosen you to bring the news

You should know what this will mean

Yes, l'll do whatever

...master asks me to

Good. Go on

Dismiss...

Freeze...

Don't move...

Don't move...

Tseng, you're late

Someone's tailing me, l must get rid of him

You sure you have got rid of him?

How come you're the only one who's been followed?

How am l supposed to know?

l know

lt's because you work for the police

This is their assignment for you

Do you have any evidence to say that?

Come in

Everybody's here?

Yes, Tseng's the last one to arrive

Tonight's gathering is strictly confidential

No one is allowed to let it out nor talk about it

Yes...

As a guarantee, all taking part in this...

will swear an oath by drinking blood

Tseng, this is no fun

Have some respect

Yes

But l've been thinking; if there's a traitor among us

...and we were to drink this blood...

would a disaster really land upon us?

How dare you!

Whoever let out the secret will be like this bowl

l brought up the twelve of you

You've all been working hard for me

l must choose someone tonight to help me do a job

At Master's service

l have to do some killings

Killing is different from doing otherjobs

Master, l am willing to do it

Bring the lots for life and death

Yes

Life

Life

Life

Life

l don't want to kill anyone...

Chase

Stop

Master, l am willing to kill for you

Tseng Chien, you'll be executed according our rules

Let him go

Killing is different from doing otherjobs

lf you're scared, l wouldn't blame you

You've drawn the ''death'' lot, so you must kill

You must kill...

l want to see old master

l...l have something to say

l won't fight with you...

Sir forgives your behaviourjust now

You must finish the job by tomorrow night

lf you refuse to go, you'll die

Then someone will take the job for you

l...

He...

He is the one you want to kill

Of course you know him

But l'll tell you anyway

Kuan is the trainer of a martial arts school

lf you fail, nobody is to blame

lt's all in fate's hands

You should return by this time tomorrow

Are you going?

Please tell old master

l thank him for pardoning my behaviour

l'll go

Master, you think Tseng Chien...

Don't worry, they are all raised up by me

They'll obey me...

and do whatever l tell them

But last night he...

That's because he knows Kuan Cheng-chun

One would of course have some qualms about killing...

someone you know

Right?

Kuan Cheng-chun has told a lot to the police...

and his friendship with Tseng Chien is risky

We must get rid of him

You fear Tseng Chien might rebel

The monkey king can't get out of Buddha's hands

Tseng Chien is precisely like that

Whatever he does,

he is in my control

Stop please

Tseng Chien, you're not someone who pleads

The people at the school said you were there...

and waited a long time for me

l know it must be important

lt is most likely you would come here

Yes

They said you left with that Tang fellow

-Tseng Chien -Cheng-chun

Let me speak first

No. Let me speak first

Okay

There's something l have not told you

...but l must tell you today

l belong to a draconian organisation

As l grew up

l have been a member

Tseng Chien, but you...

Let me finish; as agreed...

we drew lots last night

And the one getting the ''death'' lot has to kill

Tseng Chien, what about you?

Who set the rules...

that you have to kill someone?

Bull shit

Tseng Chien, you should be a good person

Think what you said when l was struggling with drugs

You...

l should speak first

l didn't kill anyone

They hit me

l know l can't get out of it

lf l don't do it they'll kill me

You should die rather than do it

l thought of it, but...

When l knew who...

they wanted me to kill

...l agreed

Who do they want to kill?

You

You must be kiddin'

At first you don't want to kill...

but you agreed because l'm the target!!

No...No

lt's really like that

lf l don't agree...

they'll send someone else

You should escape as far as possible

Tseng Chien, wait

This is an entangled situation

Same words. You better escape

l didn't yet tell you what l am trying to say

This is important

Listen to this first. Come

You must do me a favour

Otherwise l can't leave

Master will blame you

Of course, if it's accomplished...

l'll tell Master that it's your merit

Remember, wait for me outside...

Kuan Cheng-chun martial arts school

Yes. lf you've to do it, it must be with great impact

Then...

Kuan Cheng-chun

Stand still...

Thank you

You are welcome

Sir, you were on the spot at that time

You must recognize the murderer

Yes, l do

lf the murderer was not picked up by someone...

he would have been arrested

How's the wounded?

lt should be ''how's the dead?''

He is Kuan Cheng-chun, martial arts school coach

How old was he?

28

l've heard that he was a drug addict

Well, after kicking off the drugs...

he assisted the police to solve many cases

Sorry, no comment

Sir...

No comment means admitting

A real amateur

Cheng-chun, it's me

l didn't realize dummy bullets...

could be so real

Yes, but now l am a dead man

What should we do?

There are many things we must do

What do you think will happen to Tseng Chien?

He did a good job for the organization

He'll be okay

But he made it clear

He could not remain as a member of...

the organisation

At the same time he doesn't want to rebel against it

So l fear if he returns

He'll...

lt will depend on himself

Just like when you kicked the drug addiction

You depended on yourself

No one else could help you

l hope he contacts me soon

Put this on

We'll leave here

l've arranged a safe place for you

Hope it's not a jail

l knew you'd do it

You won't let me down

Right?

Yes

You'll do anything for me

You wouldn't dare turn against me

You don't even dare to think about it

Even at the expense of your life

You don't dare to go against me

because you know you can't escape from me

l've been exposed...

so l can't work for you anymore

Says who? You'll do greater things for me

...and bear greater responsibilities

Are you unwilling?

No

From now on

You are my most trusted person...

because you've killed for me

Now a special report

Yesterday in the city

Kuan Cheng-chun, a part-time kung fu coach...

was shot dead and the suspect is on the run

The police is searching everywhere...

for the suspect

lf you have information relating to the case

Please contact the police immediately...

When can l go?

l'll be bored to death here

What about Tseng Chien?

He hasn't contacted me, l suppose he's okay

However...

Can you speak without reservation?

Cheng-chun

l think...

You wouldn't fancy a girl like Yuan Li

Yuan Li? l've only known her for a short while

...but l like her

Regardless of her past

After her release from the drug rehabilitation centre

...she'll be totally different

She has left the drug centre

That soon!

Or rather she escaped!

Maybe it's because she heard of your death

lt's my fault

l didn't think of this

This is our plan...

and we have no reason to tell her

Where are you going?

To find her

You can't. Once you go out...

and are spotted

Our plan will fail

Well, if l don't go she is finished

Kuan Cheng-chun, think of the pros and cons

Think of yourself...

and Tseng Chien, and the police's plans

Officer, maybe you don't realise...

how much determination is required for an addict...

to quit his ways

But it's so easy to return to drugs

Kuan Cheng-chun, wait

You will harm Tseng Chien

l don't want to harm anyone

...but l must find her

Hello

l'm Tseng Chien

Tseng Chien

Where's Cheng-chun?

Do they suspect you?

No, l'm sent to receive...

drugs from abroad

Drugs will arrive tonight...

at the coast

Good, we'll take proper action

Tseng Chien, Kuan Cheng-chun has gone

Gone

Yes, he's gone to look for a woman

lt's Yuan Li. Maybe he has mentioned her to you

lf he is seen we're in big trouble

Yes, l'll be in big trouble

But l believe...

he has no choice

l'll contact you when l have further information

Yuan Li, you're back

Quick, give it to me

We have to go back

Brother Hsieh

Let her have the drug fix first

Then she can see me after getting all dolled up

Yes

Who is it?

A lady

Get two for madam See

You...

l'm looking for Yuan Li

No, l haven't seen her

Who are you?

Has Yuan Li been here?

What Yuan Li? who are you?

Go...

Leave...

Who are you?

Go...

Quickly...

What are you doing?

Have you seen Yuan Li?

l....

What are you doing?

Come, sit down

Kuan brought you to the rehabilitation centre, right?

How come you're addicted once you got out?

l know. lt's because Kuan Cheng-chun is dead

You know who killed Kuan Cheng-chun

Have you read the newspaper?

lf l told you...

where to find Tseng Chien

l'll do whatever you want me to

You've got to be patient for one more night

l can make him come to you tomorrow

You'll listen to me?

l can't find her

Neither can l

She did show up somewhere...

but disappeared after that

lt's the place where...

you fought with those rascals in the evening

Kuan Cheng-chun, that's enough. Come with me

You are hopeless

Do you know how many drug addicts are out there?

For the sake of saving one

You've let the drug peddler get away

Tseng Chien has got information for us

ln a couple of hours...

we'll be able to uncover a large haul of drugs

Tseng Chien has to hurry back

Think about how many people he could save thus;

We can't ruin the whole plan just because of you

Bring me along

No

ltjust isn't me who's responsible for co-ordinating

They'll recognize you

l fought with a few of them today

They didn't recognize me

Let him do it

l'll go look for Yuan Li

What do mean by ''look like'', did you see clearly?

No, it looked as if he painted oil on his face

Kuan Cheng-chun is dead

Don't talk nonsense

Master, he said that guy...

stirred up trouble in six different places today

Beat up a lot of our men

We'd better check it out

You be careful

Ask Tseng Chien to come

Yes

You thought that guy was Kuan Cheng-chun

l think it's a mistake

Don't move

Stand still...

Go...

Stand still...

Go...

Go...

lf we had not run fast enough

...we'd all get caught

Who have you mentioned this to?

Master, no one here would leak out the information

l'm afraid someone from the seller side is unreliable

Tseng Chien, it's been a smooth sailing all along

This is your first assignment, and we've trouble!

What are you implying?

Don't be rash

You are looking for Yuan Li, is that right?

l know where she is

Wait

Who is it?

Miss Yuan, open the door, l am Tseng

You are Tseng Chien

Yes, Miss Yuan. l'll take you to someone

You killed Kuan Cheng-chun

Yuan Li, listen to me

Kuan risked everything to come look for you

lt's worth it

Yuan Li, Kuan Cheng-chun is not dead

Don't ruin yourself

Come on, l'll take you to him

Taxi

Cheng-chun, Yuan Li almost stabbed me to death

Of course l don't blame you

Cheng-chun, when Tang Kuo-Liang comes,

take Ms. Yuan back to the rehabilitation centre first

Secondly, inform him...

that tonight...

a drugs consignment will be taken to the urban area

...in a truck; the drugs will be hidden in a piano

Go...

Stand still....Don't run

Hold it...

Check it

Fail again

Master, l believe that someone from the seller side...

leaked out the information again

lt's been checked very strictly these days

There's something here l want to show you

Lung Tai

Turn on the light. Let him see clearly

Tseng Chien didn't say how he's found Yuan Li

Tseng Chien didn't mention it but Yuan Li told me

Hsieh En said he could make Tseng Chien go to her

What happened?

Damn. Get in the car quickly

Hsieh En & Tseng Chien are deadly foes

He asked Tseng Chien to go to Yuan Li

He wanted to make use of Yuan Li to kill him

but Yuan Li didn't succeed

Hsieh En must be following Tseng Chien...

to see whether Yuan Li has succeeded

When he saw Tseng Chien leaving with Yuan Li...

he would have followed them to your hiding place

Might have seen me too

l'm really worried about Tseng Chien

Wait here, l'll call the police

Hurry back, l'm afraid it'll be too late

l know

Just watch from the outside, don't take any risk

That's strange, the one whom you killed...

rose from the dead

Tseng Chien, you dare to make a move!

So what?

Waiting for death

Then what am l to be afraid of?

Unexpectedly, there's one among you...

who has dared to betray me

See what will happen to a traitor

Prepare the punishment

Yes

Let me die

l will

But in the meantime, l'll break your hands and legs

...and let you die slowly

Kuan Cheng-chun

Fear not, Tseng Chien. Tang has called the police

Chase

Master, he's not here

Let's go, bring him with us

Yes

Go...

Master, Kuan Cheng-chun is following from behind

He wants to die!

Kuan Cheng-chun is behind

Come, let's kill him

You traitor, l'll have you die slowly

Kuan Cheng-chun

Go...

Go on...

Get on the car

Get in the car

Tseng Chien, you can't escape from me

Tseng Chien

Remember, l want it myself

You've saved me

This is the only way l can go

Hurry

Call the ambulance

Yes...

Before he died...

he said, that was the only way he could go

l am sure he was more peaceful...

at the time of his death...

than at any other time in his whole life

Don'tjust sit here

We've got a lot of things to do
