Love a Lifetime

Episode 1

Give the thing to us, and I'll give you a quick death!

It just accidentally fell into the water.

If you really want it, go into the water to find it.

It won't be late to get it after we kill you.

Who are you?

As the second daughter of the Rong family in Dragon Howl City,

you couldn't even win when fighting just a few scoundrels.

I really overestimated you.

How do you know my identity?

Moreover, how do you know I can't deal with them?

Even if you didn't come, I would use my strategy to defeat them.

Strategy?

Well. Deal with them yourself.

- Go ahead. - I'll go.

My name is Lin Jing.

I'm from the Nanyang region.

Let's go. No need to take it.

Did my master really ask you to save me?

Of course yes.

Rest assured. No one will steal a glance.

You are really bad at fighting.

You can consider letting me escort you back safely.

I want to ask you something.

I know what you want to ask.

Dragon Howl City is famous in all corners of the country.

Mr. Rong, the City's master, has two daughters.

The elder daughter has extraordinary martial arts skills and she is as excellent as her male peers.

As for the younger daughter...

What about the younger daughter?

She is much loved.

These two daughters are totally different in terms of character and martial arts skills.

So it's easy to distinguish between them.

I came to rescue you this time because my disciple asked me for help.

How come you have a disciple?

Because I've taken a very unreliable disciple.

As the second daughter of the master of Dragon Howl City, you messed it up when getting changed.

Usually you don't change clothes by yourself, right?

That's none of your business.

Ma'am, can you see any clue from Miss Rong Hua's letter?

She doesn't get along with you,

but she has actually shown the white feather this time.

Rong Hua is always a playful girl and doesn't care about serious affairs.

She is seldom close to me.

But this time, without precedent, she even asked me to go out of the City to support her.

If she wants to know my attitude, I can't make myself at a disadvantageous position.

Immediately send some disciples to keep close watch on her.

I wonder what the background of Lin Jing is.

Just what is his purpose of being with Rong Hua?

Are you afraid that there's something tricky as Miss Rong Hua asked you for help this time?

Whether Rong Hua has got the Chihua Pill or not,

I will never let her get the position of the City's master.

I want to see what tricks she can play.

Lin Jing saved me from the beginning.

Is it a trap?

Man's mind is unpredictable.

I have to guard against it.

I have to leave at night to get rid of him

and then investigate thoroughly.

What happened?

Nothing. I just accidentally fell when watching the stars.

Watching the stars?

I didn't see you still have the habit of watching stars at night.

But as it's in the dead of night,

you are really not safe outside alone.

I think I'd better stay with you.

I feel a little sleepy suddenly.

You go watch the stars alone.

How can I go alone?

It'll be interesting only if we go together.

Let's go.

To watch the stars.

Dragon Howl City is as mysterious as these stars in the sky.

If I want to find the truth, I must enter Dragon Howl City.

No matter what the result is, I have to get the answer myself.

- What are you running after? - The precious stars!

Aren't you going to just watch them?

- Why... - Lower your voice.

Don't scare the stars away.

Lin Jing actually noticed that I'm following them.

He has extraordinary martial arts skills.

It seems he's a tough opponent.

Let's go.

Where are we going?

Let's go.

Watch out!

From now on, learn some serious martial arts skills from me.

Look at you. You even have a problem with going up to the roof.

With your poor skills, you even want to teach me martial arts?

Nothing.

I mean, OK.

You know what?

Among all the stars in the sky, each has its own story.

How can stars have stories?

"Stars" are meant to be five specific stars, and also the light in the dark of the night.

There are seven constellations in the eastern sky.

Extending from west to south,

they are visible only in the southern sky in the summer night.

Look there.

The Big Dipper is over there.

Does it look like a ladle for serving wine?

Right there.

I can see it. It's over there.

When the handle of the Dipper faces the east, it is spring in the world.

When it faces the south, it is summer.

When it faces the west, it is autumn.

And when it faces the north, it is winter.

You are so smart.

It's getting late. Let's go back.

Are you OK?

I'm fine.

Do you know what the stars like?

The stars like it when you have them in your eyes.

It turns out he is not as annoying as I imagined.

Do you like watching stars?

Of course I do.

If you like it, I will stay outside your window all the time.

Then when you want to see the stars, you won't fall out of the window.

Only after I enter Dragon Howl City can I find the truth about my father's death.

I won't let go of the chance this time.

I wanted to get rid of this drag,

but I didn't expect that he is so annoying.

It seems that I have to think of a way.

Lin Jing,

don't blame me.

You lost something?

You have been following my master and me along the way.

Do you want to get the Chihua Pill?

Why do you keep silent?

Now the Chihua Pill is not.

No one but you had the chance to get it.

It seems that you have planned it in advance.

Maybe the killers on the lake were sent by you.

Finished?

What?

I've seen through your tricks, so you feel guilty?

I, Lin Jing, always do things aboveboard.

If there is any frame-up or misunderstanding,

we have to figure it out, am I right?

What are you going to do?

Since you said I stole your Chihua Pill,

should you check it yourself

to see whether the well-known Chihua Pill of Dragon Howl City

is with me or not?

The hall master ordered that we should not hurt Miss Rong Hua during this operation.

We just need to deal with Lin Jing.

People of the Hall of Emptiness came.

As soon as they came, they were trying to kill.

Is it me or Lin Jing that Su wants to kill?

Or she wants to get the Chihua Pill?

I just asked her to support me,

but I didn't expect her to be so cruel.

You know those people outside?

You are injured.

I'm fine.

You got injured because of me. How could you say you are fine?

Get up.

Go now.

What was all that about?

I don't have time to explain to you now.

Hurry up and get out of here.

If you don't explain it clearly, I won't go.

This place is dangerous now.

Go now.

This... There's poison in your wound.

How about I help you?

Poison?

You even know that?

I'll give you a chance then.

Do it.

It might hurt.

You wrote a letter to me asking me to support you this time.

I asked the disciples of the Hall of Emptiness to save you in secret,

but you ordered them to retreat and helped Lin Jing.

Just what's your plan?

I did ask you to support me,

but I just wanted you to take the Chihua Pill back to the City.

I didn't ask you to hurt Lin Jing.

Moreover, the poison on this dart is made by the Hall of Sickness.

Ordinary people have no antidote to it at all.

Su, give me the antidote.

Lin Jing's background is unknown.

These days, I've seen that he keeps pestering you and Mr. Bai.

He must have ulterior motives.

Since he was injured by a dart, it means he is in bad luck.

You don't need to save him.

Killing a suspicious person is better than leaving hidden trouble.

I don't know his background, but he saved my life before.

So many disciples of the Hall of Emptiness came to protect me.

However, darts have no eyes.

Lin Jing was able to avoid them.

But if I got hurt,

your good intention would make things worse,

and you would be punished because of me. Then I would feel sorry.

It seems that I'm worried and nervous for nothing.

I didn't say that.

I know clearly what you came for this time.

I'm afraid others may misunderstand you.

Anyone who wants to grab the Chihua Pill must die!

The people of Dragon Howl City are so unreasonable.

Su, this is the Chihua Pill.

Please take it back to the City.

Dad!

Hua, you are back.

Dad!

Hua.

Hua, you are back.

I've been worried about you.

It's good that you are back. It's good.

By the way, where is the thing?

Take it out and let me see.

Dad, I was delayed when I was on the way back,

so I asked Su to take it back first.

- Su. - Master Rong,

here is the Chihua Pill.

Master Rong.

So it is here.

Good. Hua, the Chihua Pill is the most valuable treasure of Dragon Howl City.

You didn't disgrace Dragon Howl City this time.

The Chihua Pill is a magic medicine that can bring the dying back to life.

And it is exclusive to Dragon Howl City.

Hua succeeded in getting it back this time.

It's a great contribution.

The position of the master of the Hall of Life has been vacant for long.

It's time to find someone to take charge.

Hua has been learning medicine since childhood, and she has good medical skills and a kind heart.

I think she is the most suitable person for the position.

Dad, why don't you open the box and take a look?

OK. Let's take a look.

Hua, what's going on?

Hua, what are you up to again?

Where is the Chihua Pill? Take it out.

Could it be possible that someone stealthily substituted this for the Chihua Pill?

Xiaoxiao.

Rong Su, Hua gave it to you.

Did anything happen on the way back?

Rong Hua, since the day when you gave me the box,

I haven't opened it.

It's OK that you are playful.

But the Chihua Pill is very important.

Make it clear. Don't think about slandering me.

Su, don't be mad.

Listen to me.

Dad, this time I passed by Sunny Creek.

I remember you told me that you and my mother got to know each other there.

Mother passed away early,

and there's no chance for you to go there again,

so I specially took a stone back for you to cherish the memory of my mother.

Good girl.

I see.

Hua, you are a filial daughter.

But...Just where is our Chihua Pill?

Dad, Su is so good at martial arts.

Even she hasn't found the Chihua Pill.

How could I find it?

Besides, with my skills,

how could I know where the Chihua Pill is?

Master Tang was killed, and the Chihua Pill was stolen.

Was that deliberate murder for robbing the pill?

I think you don't need to worry.

Isn't the Chihua Pill the treasure of Dragon Howl City?

All people in Jianghu know that.

Anyone who takes the Chihua Pill must take the antidote.

If there is no antidote, it won't help.

Master Rong, don't worry.

I think the culprit will come to you soon.

Who are you?

Dad, I forgot to tell you that he is Lin Jing.

When I came across killers on the way back, he saved my life.

Later, Su might have misunderstood him, so she hurt him by accident.

I can't remove the poison from his body, so I brought him back.

But, Dad, don't worry.

When his wound heals, I'll let him go.

I see.

It was not easy for me to escape marriage and come here.

Actually, I can be considered as a member of Dragon Howl City.

To tell you the truth, I'm not only her savior.

I have another special identity.

Why do you mean?

About this matter,

ask Mr. Bai, one of your hall masters, to explain to you.

Bai, what is all that about?

Actually, he is not an important person.

Bai, don't speak falteringly.

What is all that about?

Tell us frankly.

Sir. Sir.

Why are you so careless?

It turns out to be you brat.

Put me down.

I finally hung you up.

How can I put you down so easily?

I know it.

You did something to the roast chicken, didn't you?

No. I saw clearly you had two bites of it too.

Roast chicken and fine wine are a perfect combination.

Old man!

You are greedy.

You will come to no good end, old man.

At the time, I made it very clear that roast chicken

and fine wine are a perfect combination.

Fine. Forget it. Forget it.

I, Bai Weizhi, am magnanimous.

I won't lower myself to the same level as you.

If you want to say something, just go ahead.

I want you to take me as your master

so that you can take care of me along the way

when I'm away from home to escape marriage. Right?

You are making use of the precarious position I'm in. No way.

If you say so, just enjoy yourself up there.

Well. I acknowledge you as my master. Master.

Speak louder, or I can't hear you.

Master!

Good disciple.

I...Greetings, Master.

That's right.

Miss Rong Hua, Mr. Bai is your master.

Today, Mr. Bai's master appeared.

So the guy called Lin Jing

is your grandmaster, right?

Shut up!

Don't mention him again. Are you clear?

On the way back to the City, you were attacked.

Did someone do that intentionally?

For example, someone of Dragon Howl City?

Where did you hear such groundless gossip?

I don't even know who the culprit is. How do you know?

Miss Rong Hua, there's something you don't know.

Before you came back, it has spread among people of all halls.

It's obvious that someone dislikes you.

Even Master Rong suspected that it might be that person who did those things.

Tell me.

My sister is the master of the Hall of Emptiness.

How could she do those bad things?

No more talk behind the back.

OK.

Master Xue has extraordinary martial arts skills,

but he was seriously injured.

Just what is the background of Lingxu Pavilion?

It is mysterious in Jianghu.

If their power continues to expand,

there won't be a foothold for Dragon Howl City when the time comes.

It's time to investigate it thoroughly.

I have sent some people to investigate it.

Lingxu Pavilion is a mysterious sect which emerged in recent ten years.

Many people tried to search for it out of curiosity,

but nobody had the chance of returning.

In Jianghu, none of those still alive have ever seen the people of Lingxu Pavilion.

There are even rumors that

the disciples of Lingxu Pavilion have great abilities,

and they are free immortals in the world.

They are just rumors.

As long as Lingxu Pavilion really exists,

there must be a day when its flaws are revealed.

When there is a chance,

I'm going to meet them in person.

This time I could have seized the Chihua Pill

to help you get closer to the position of the City's master, but...

Fortunately, there is no gain on Miss Rong Hua's side.

Rong Hua seems simple, but she's actually quite shrewd.

It's too strange that the Chihua Pill was stolen.

I suspect there is something hidden.

Do you suspect that Miss Rong Hua keeps the Chihua Pill with evil intentions?

Miss Rong Hua, what are you going to do?

Nothing. Don't worry.

Watch at the door.

If somebody comes, let me know.

If you are afraid that this man is up to no good,

just drive him away.

Why do you condescend to investigate in person?

Without evidence, how can I drive him away?

Besides, I brought him back, so I have to investigate thoroughly.

Hurry.

It's strange.

Lin Jing, just wait.

Why should I wait?

Am I right here?

You... When did you come in?

I didn't expect that the younger lady of the Rong family

not only likes watching stars at night,

but also likes sneaking into someone else's room.

What's wrong with you?

There is a door there, but you came in through the window.

When I returned, I saw someone guarding at the door,

and I was wondering what was going on inside,

so I went to the window and get in to figure it out.

I didn't expect…I didn't expect that the younger lady of the Rong family

is doing something unpresentable in my room.

What are you talking about?

I'm here to give you candles.

Seems my kindness came to no good.

Last time you framed me for stealing your stuff

and searched all over my body to prove my innocence.

And I got injured for no reason.

This time, should you take the initiative to let me make a body search?

Don't come over. Don't come over.

Go away! What are you doing?

Miss Rong Su.

Miss Rong Su. It's so late. What are you doing here?

I, I just passed by.

The Hall of Emptiness lost something. We must search this place.

It's none of your business. You're dismissed.

No, Miss Rong Su.

Miss Rong Su. Miss Rong Su.

No, Miss Rong Su.

Miss Rong Su, Miss... Don't touch me!

Go away! Go away!

You are all here.

Good evening.

Su.

What is all this about?

You are a girl.

What if rumors about this spread in the City?

Dad, I just went to give Lin Jing candles.

Master Rong, when I went into the room,

I did see Rong Hua holding some candles.

Now you are actually speaking for your sister.

Tell me.

Does the attack on your sister have anything to do with you?

It turns out that you have always thought that I'm suspicious.

No matter what I say and do,

you have long determined that I am the plotter behind the scenes.

These years, I have gone through thick and thin for Dragon Howl City

and indeed killed a lot of people who should be killed.

But I deny the sororicide accusation against me.

Enough!

Don't think I don't know what you are thinking.

Since a few days ago, you have sent your men to watch your sister.

Aren't you clear about what you want?

At this moment, you still resorted to sophistry in front of me.

- I didn't. - Dad.

Dad, you really misunderstood Su.

This has nothing to do with her.

I asked her to help me and take the Chihua Pill back to the City.

If she is selfish,

she would have opened the wooden box and find out what was happening.

In my opinion, she is selfless and loyal to Dragon Howl City.

Well. No need to find an excuse for her.

If she is really like what you said,

that's good.

Thank you for explaining to the master for me just now.

I want to thank you for proving innocence of me and Lin Jing.

I haven't thanked you for protecting me in secret.

Su, you are my sister.

The family bond will never change.

Your contributions to Dragon Howl City have always impressed Dad.

Rong Hua, I'll definitely investigate the assassins

and find out the one who drove a wedge between us in secret.

I have something to do, so I've got to go.

According to your command,

I went to the place Lin Jing mentioned to inquire for information.

Did you find anything?

There is indeed a family whose surname is Lin in the Nanyang region.

But it seems that they moved away a few years ago.

So I asked the people living nearby about Lin Jing with a picture of him.

Some people claimed that there is a resemblance,

but as many years have passed, it's hard to tell.

I need to inquire more about him slowly along the way.

It may take a few days.

Well. No more inquiring about him.

Master Rong, you mean...

For the safety of Dragon Howl City,

we would rather kill than let anyone off.

Just find chance to get rid of him.

But you must remember this:

Don't leave any clues behind.

Yes.

Go ahead.

I'm so mad. I'm so mad.

Lin Jing. Lin Jing.

I'm so mad.

What are you doing?

Why are you mad?

You are just escaping marriage.

You can go anywhere, but why do you have to come to Dragon Howl City?

Since I can go anywhere, why can't I stay in Dragon Howl City?

Because you are not welcome here.

That's impossible!

Your dad just told me to stay longer.

I think everyone in Dragon Howl City likes me very much except you.

You are shameless.

I've had enough!

Now I order you to get out of Dragon Howl City.

What are you looking at?

As your grandmaster, I have to say you look cute when you tell lies!

Who told lies?

Don't flatter yourself.

Besides, I don't need you to say whether I'm cute or not. I know it.

Why don't you leave?

How can there be the sound of gongs and drums at night?

Somebody is having a wedding?

He doesn't look like a martial arts practitioner,

but a good-for-nothing young man from a wealthy family.

Sorry for disturbing you late at night, but this is urgent.

Did you come to a wrong place?

This is Dragon Howl City. How dare you make a noise here?

Leave here quickly.

I didn't come to the wrong place.

I wonder which family is the girl you are marrying from?

As it is in the middle of the night, is it a posthumous marriage?

I wonder whether your fiancée is in the Dragon Howl City

or has already been dead.

This person is now in the City.

Please let us get in.

How dare you!

My patience has reached the limit.

This farce should be over.

If you don't leave, don't blame me for being rude.

You have such a hot temper.

Dare you say more?

Lin Jing is now in the City.

If you can ask him to get out,

I'll leave with my people and won't stay any longer.

Lin Jing?

Yes.

Did he mention he escaped marriage?

You caused the trouble.

Hurry and go back to solve this matter.

You are not right.

If I really go back, it means I'm irresponsible for that girl.

I don't think so.

When you stay here, at the sight of you, I'm annoyed.

Su.

Why are you here?

What happened to your neck?

Oh, no. You were hurt by a girl.

Well... If I can live up to Mrs. Lin's order and take you back,

more injuries won't be a big deal for me.

Besides, when you decided to escape marriage,

have you thought about my situation?

I have no other choice, right?

No other choice?

When you asked me for help at home, you said you were bored at home

and wanted to go out to watch a play and relax yourself before the wedding,

I thought, OK, since we have been good friends for years,

I could do you a small favor.

But I didn't expect you were going to escape marriage.

Have you ever thought how Mrs. Lin would punish me afterwards?

You knew caring about me just now.

You even asked me about my injury.

Do you know Miss Mei is waiting for you at home?

Finished?

When will you give up the habit of nagging?

If I don't say it, how will you know how serious the matter is?

Lin Jing, since they came here to find you,

go back with him.

Don't delay.

Let's go.

OK. I'll go back.

Lin Jing, I mean that way, not this way.

Stop, Lin Jing.

What we did just now was really disturbing.

Sorry for bringing inconvenience for the master of the City and everyone.

I'm really sorry.

If I didn't do that, I'm afraid I couldn't force Lin Jing to show himself.

Sorry for disturbing you tonight.

I'm leaving.

Stop!

Dragon Howl City is not a place where you can come and go freely as you like.

You are still injured, so you'd better not fight.

As long as Lin Jing is in the City, I'll come again.

Are you afraid that there will be no chance for us to meet again?

Ridiculous. Who wants to meet you again?

If you don't want to meet me again,

please drive Lin Jing out of Dragon Howl City as soon as possible.

So This is a good way to satisfy both sides.
