I am so thrilled to be here.

I can't believe it's been over three decades

since I sang "Part of Your World"

for a beautiful animated feature film

called The Little Mermaid.

Now, tonight we celebrate our 30th anniversary

of one of the most beloved Disney films of all time

in a very unique presentation:

half our original film, half live spectacle,

and one hundred percent Disney magic.

So let's dive together into a magic adventure

under the sea.

I'm really looking forward to this performance, Sebastian.

This will be the finest concert I have ever conducted.

Your daughters, they will be spectacular!

And especially my little Ariel.

She has the most beautiful voice, hm?

If only she'd show up for rehearsals once in a while.

Ohh! You're not getting cold fins now, are you?

It's just, it, uh,

it looks damp in there. Yeah.

Oh, my gosh.

Have you ever seen anything so wonderful in your entire life?

Wow, cool!

But, uh, what is it?

I don't know, but I bet Scuttle will.

W-What was that?

Did you hear something?

Hmm. I wonder what this one is?

-Ariel! -Flounder.

Will you relax? Nothing is going to happen.

Shark! Shark! We're gonna die!

Oh, no! [panting]

Uhh! [muttering]

You big bully! [blows raspberry]

-Aah! -[Ariel laughs]

Flounder, you really are a guppy.

Ariel! We're on in Five Minutes!

[Scuttle] Ariel! How you doin', kid?

Whoa, what a swim.

Scuttle, look what we found!

Yeah, we were in this sunken ship, and it was really creepy--

Human stuff, huh?

-Oh. Oh... -[utensils clanking]

Look at this.

Wow, this is special. This is very, very unusual.

What? What is it?

It's a dinglehopper.

Humans use these little babies...

[boing]

...to straighten their hair out.

See? Just a little twirl here and a yank there, and voi-o-lay...

you got an aesthetically pleasing configuration of hair

that humans go nuts over!

A dinglehopper.

-What about that one? -Ah.

A banded...bulbous snarflblatt.

So, they invented this snarfblatt

to make fine music.

Allow me.

Pfffftt!

-[Scuttle coughs] -Music!

-It's stuck! Ack! -Oh, the concert!

Oh, my gosh, my father's gonna kill me!

The concert was today?

I gotta go! Thank you, Scuttle!

[Scuttle] Any time, sweetie!

[Ursula] Yes, hurry home, Princess.

We wouldn't want to miss old Daddy's celebration,

now, would we?

Ha! Celebration, indeed.

Oh-ho, bah! In my day,

we had fantastical feasts

when I lived in the palace.

[gulps]

Wasted away to practically nothing.

Banished and exiled and practically starving.

While he and his flimsy fish folks celebrate!

Well, I'll give him something to celebrate soon enough!

Flotsam! Jetsam!

I want you to keep an extra-close watch on this pretty little daughter of his.

She may be the key to Triton's undoing.

[Triton] I just don't know

what we're going to do with you, young lady.

Daddy, I'm sorry. I just forgot! I--

As a result of your careless behavior...

..the entire celebration was--

Well, it was ruined, that's all!

Completely destroyed!

this shark chased us. Yeah. Y-Yeah.

Ahh. And then we were safe.

Then this seagull came,

and it was, "This is this," and "That is that," and--

-Seagull? What? -[Flounder gulps]

Oh! You went up to the surface again, didn't you?

Didn't you?!

Nothing...happened.

Oh, Ariel. How many times must we go through this?

You could have been seen by one of those barbarians,

by--by one of those humans.

Daddy, they're not barbarians!

They're dangerous!

Do you think I want to see

my youngest daughter snared by some fish-eater's hook?

I'm sixteen years old. I'm not a child.

Don't you take that tone of voice with me, young lady!

As long as you live under my ocean, you'll obey my rules!

-All the time. -And you are just the crab to do it.

[gasps]

[Sebastian panting]

[Scuttle] Hey there, sweetie!

Quite a show, eh?

Scuttle, be quiet! They'll hear you!

Ooh, I gotcha, I gotcha.

We're bein' intrepidiacious.

-We're out to discover! -Unh-unh.

I've never seen a human this close before.

Oh...

he's very handsome, isn't he?

I don't know, he looks kinda hairy and slobbery to me.

[laughs] Not that one.

-Silence! -[music stops]

It is now my honor and privilege

to present our esteemed Prince Eric

with a very special,

very expensive,

[Ariel humming]

[humming continues]

Oh! [chuckles] Morning, Daddy.

[Triton, chuckling] Well!

- Oh, she's got it bad! - What? What has she got?

Isn't it obvious, Daddy? Ariel's in love.

and I expect those rules to be obeyed.

Contact between the human world and the mer-world is strictly forbidden.

Ariel, you know that! Everyone knows that.

Spineless, savage, harpooning fish-eaters,

incapable of any feeling...

because you have a thing for this human, this prince fellow.

[chuckles]

the solution to your problem is simple.

The only way to get what you want

is to become a human yourself.

Can you do that?

poor souls with no one else to turn to.

[cackling]
