[The Wolf]

[Episode 22] Ever since Yao Ji

[Episode 22] pretended to make the deal with me,

to treat Zhai Xing's legs.

I knew something was off.

Think about it.

Yao Ji has been my nemesis.

Why would she agree

to betray His Majesty to assist me?

Also, I would betray her anytime.

And she wouldn't be able to rise again.

You are clear-eyed, Master.

Yao Ji is cautious enough

to not get herself

into danger easily.

May I

ask you something, Master?

Go ahead.

If it wasn't a fake poison

but a real one,

would you deceive His Majesty

and secretly remove the poison for Princess Ma?

Wait, what nonsense are you talking?

Why are you thinking about

what didn't happen?

Master.

I would like to know that too.

Are you doing this too?

If I were to

betray His Majesty

and choose to protect Ma Zhai Xing,

then

I would resign as

the head of Night Fury.

I would then have nothing to do with you all.

Whatever I do

would have nothing to do with you.

Master,

that's not what I meant.

Leave.

But, Master...

Leave.

Yes, Master.

[After this test,]

[there's no way Chu Kui]

[will put his total trust in me again.]

[We're in a perilous situation.]

[I must figure out a way]

[to get Zhai Xing out of here soonest.]

What are you planting?

Go away.

You're still fussing about

the Flower Inn incident?

How dare you laugh at me!

Why don't you

go find those prostitutes?

They're as sweet as honey.

However sweet the honey is,

it's not lasting.

Yet, the brightness of a star is eternal.

You picked up these sweet nothings

from those brothels,

didn't you?

Mo Xiao and I went to the Flower Inn

because His Majesty asked me to go investigate

the rebellious officials.

We weren't there to drink and have fun.

If you don't believe me, you may go ask His Majesty.

Ministry of Justice has the record,

right?

What about Miss Lu Fu from Kuizhou?

She didn't enter my room at all.

I used her to drive you away.

I don't care what you did

at Flower Inn.

Anyway,

you went there behind my back.

Speak!

What else are you

hiding from me?

Do you really have no other

unspeakable secret?

No.

Wolfie never hides anything

from me.

Are you

still that Wolfie?

I'm always Wolfie in front of you.

What about when you're not in front of me?

When I'm not in front of you,

I'll still remember

that I'm your Wolfie.

I'm Lord Bo.

Whether I'm with you or not,

no matter what happens,

I'll always remember

to not let anything upsetting

happen to you.

You haven't told me

what you're planting.

Cypress vine.

After leaving the Ma Mansion,

you and I

were suddenly bestowed marriage.

And I suddenly found out

that you're

my long-lost Wolfie.

You don't like God's arrangement?

No.

For eight years,

you're Lord Bo whom I don't know.

You're Wolfie as well as Lord Bo.

But those eight years,

it's such a long time.

But I wasn't by your side

And I know nothing.

I know that people change.

But I always hope

that these cypress vines

can turn you back into Wolfie

a bit more.

I know you don't like flowers.

But now,

are you willing to turn back into Wolfie

a bit more

and accept those flowers?

Just a bit?

At first, I

didn't know how to appreciate the beauty of flowers.

Now,

I feel like learning it.

But

isn't this

too much?

Since I'm learning it,

I might as well master it.

Not just this.

This is...

Wolf pot?

Master knows

that you like bow throwing.

That's why he ordered me to find one.

I asked

someone to customise it.

Your Highness, did you see it?

Both of us

are on the pot.

Mo Xiao.

Did you take it upon yourself to have this made?

Well done.

Master complimented me.

Let's

play a round?

Shall we?

With Master?

Who else?

Let's do as Princess said

and play a round.

Forget about the ranks.

Sure!

Truth be told,

I'm

the greatest player.

Okay, let's play!

Watch me.

Good!

Watch me.

Okay.

I've done calculating.

Lord Bo is out.

Your scores are almost the same.

Now,

we'll come up with a winner.

Here's the final bow.

The highest scorer

will flick

the losers' foreheads.

Forehead flicking?

Yes.

Like this.

Good idea.

Okay.

Well,

Wen Yan, you go first.

Hurry up.

Here.

Go.

Come.

Mo Xiao, give him some space.

Come now.

That's a miss.

Shoo.

Hai Die.

Come.

Hai Die.

Good luck.

Aim for it.

Yes, there.

It's too difficult.

Mo Xiao, good luck.

Mo Xiao won!

Come flick Lord Bo's forehead.

What?

I won.

Go.

Mo Xiao.

Master.

It's the game rule.

Just admit defeat.

Does it hurt?

You show good sportsmanship.

Wait.

Where's Ma Jing?

She found out this morning

that you'll arrange the flower bed.

So she went to the market

to buy some flower pots.

She should be back soon.

I'm going to give her a surprise.

I can't let her

see what the Bo Mansion looks like.

Carry on with the game.

I'll wait for her out there.

Hurry back.

Flick the losers' foreheads!

Go ahead.

Lord Bo.

Here's the thing,

this...

Master.

You're the one who told us

to forget about the ranks.

Come!

Let's have a match!

Hai Die,

set the pot.

What should I do

when Ma Jing's back?

I'll just blindfold her.

That'll do.

Physician Yao Ji?

Your Highness.

I was just ordered

to take over the Grand Diviner Palace.

I am here to visit Lord Bo.

You came at the right time.

I'm sure you haven't seen

such a Bo Mansion.

Come on in, please.

His Majesty doesn't like flowers.

At first,

I just wanted to persuade him

to let me plant my favourite cypress vine.

I never thought

he'd change

the face of the entire mansion.

Physician Yao Ji.

Isn't he very different from

the Lord Bo that you used to know?

They're just flowers.

It's nothing.

I'll show something more exciting.

Goal!

Goal!

Finally, a goal!

Come here!

Defeat comes from arrogance.

Serves you right!

Flick his forehead!

Master.

-Flick his forehead! -Flick his forehead!

Flick his forehead.

That hurts a lot!

Come, let's carry on!

Physician Yao Ji.

I'll go first.

Do you think

His Highness

has really changed?

Goal!

Watch me.

You just wait and see.

Just wait and see.

This will be a goal.

You seem to be enjoying yourself, Your Highness.

Don't you two

know each other?

Why don't you

greet each other?

Not just Lord Bo,

but also Wen Yan,

Hai Die, and Mo Xiao.

They know each other very well.

I just took over the Grand Diviner Palace

and decided to pay you a special visit,

Lord Bo.

Your Highness,

why are you ignoring her?

Is it because of

that small grievance?

Haven't you let go?

What did she say to you?

Nothing.

She just said

that you're not on good terms

due to the fight for the position of Night Fury head.

There's indeed

a small grievance between you.

But now that it's been resolved,

it's fine now.

You're right, Princess.

There's no unresolvable grievance

between me and Lord Bo.

Moreover,

I once made an effort

to treat your illness, Princess.

I'm very busy.

Why are you here,

Physician Yao Ji?

I will be hosting

this year's Slaughter Banquet.

One year ago, Your Highness sacrificed the lady

and became renowned.

Lady Bo should learn a thing or two about it.

I received the imperial decree

to invite Princess Ma

to join the event with me.

Princess Ma,

please come with me.

Now?

Please.

His Majesty will prepare

ten sets of top-notch horse meat.

The prisoners in the dungeon

will celebrate with us.

Today,

you will choose

the prisoners to receive the meat,

will you?

Sure.

Him.

And him.

Whoever you choose

will be executed.

One year ago, the one that Lord Bo executed

is

Lord Duan Yan Yu.

Is Wolfie

long gone?

It's me.

Who are you?

Do I still know you?

As Lord Bo,

you're destined to be bound by duty.

I can't expect

you to stop being the Third Prince.

I can't force you to turn back into Wolfie.

Can we still

leave all this behind

and turn back into the most innocent

Xing Er and Wolfie?

You're Xing Er.

I'm Wolfie.

But we're also Lord Bo and Lady Bo.

I'm the one

who wished you'd turn back into Wolfie.

That's very selfish of me.

We won't be beaten down

by this small matter.

Now, I

just need some time

to accept your world.

No matter how repulsed you feel,

remember to eat.

I have some military affairs to attend to tomorrow.

And I'll be away.

You have a few days

to calm yourself down.

Remember,

take good care of yourself.

Master.

What is it?

His father has woken up.

Zi Shen,

the palace is quite clean, well done.

Your Honor,

I found out that Lord Bo

and his underling Mo Xiao left the mansion at night.

[Zi Shen, Yao Ji's valet] They're suspicious.

It's you?

Who are you?

Why did you save us

from the fire?

When the morning comes,

leave at once.

And don't ever come back again.

I

don't make enemies.

Who?

Who is trying to kill us?

Could it be...

Could it be

that scary man called Wolfie?

He wants to kill

and save us.

Do you want to

take the truth to your grave?

Or,

forget everything

and live a good life with your daughter?

Be smart.

Forget everything.

And don't ever come back again.

If you

keep trying to get to the bottom of it,

you and your daughter

will definitely die.

Go.

Let's go.

From now on,

we will have nothing

with all this!

Very good.

Master,

it's all settled.

If you'd found out

that I was trying to save them,

I wouldn't have gotten you into this.

In order to avoid the Ma Troop

from getting suspecting of

the Ma Mansion incident because of them,

Your Highness once ordered Lord Bo to lead the Night Fury

and get rid of him.

Surprisingly, Lord Bo

secretly spared his life.

Master,

Lord Bo has truly changed.

No.

Lord Bo has become disloyal to Your Highness

because of Ma Zhai Xing.

Lord Do has probably seen through

the test you put him through.

That's why he showed indifference.

He not only changed himself for her,

but also tried to deceive me

and get himself killed.

I will not allow him to keep making mistakes

and dig his own grave.

The one back there, you'll take this.

Yes!

Move it over there

and return with some small ones.

Do you hear me?

Here, hurry up.

Be careful.

Lord Bo

gifted Princess these flowers.

You over here, hurry up too.

Hurry up and water the plants.

Yes.

Be careful.

Don't drop it.

Here, move it here.

Hurry up.

Over here.

Princess.

Mo Xiao.

Change it back

and stop planting.

Princess,

but

before Master went out of the city

to marshal the troop,

he kept reminding

that he'll be back two weeks from now

and wants to see

a completely transformed Bo Mansion.

His Highness is bound by duty.

We seem to be doing all this

to force him

to turn back into Wolfie

and put more pressure on him.

We shouldn't be doing so.

But Master

truly wants to change.

You should change your mindset, Princess.

Lord Grand Diviner,

instead of staying in your palace,

why are you here?

I came to see Princess.

His Majesty heard that Princess and Lord Bo

had a fight

because of the Slaughter Banquet.

He thought we can talk,

woman to woman.

He ordered me

to try to placate Your Highness first

after Lord Bo left the mansion.

It's our family affair.

His Majesty

and my lord need not worry.

Lord Yao Ji,

how kind of you.

I'm truly astonished at

this abnormal act of yours.

I'm not free

or interested in

meddling in the private affair Lord Bo and Your Highness.

It's just that

I received His Majesty's order

and I must obey it.

If Your Highness

are willing to go to a place with me,

perhaps it could avoid

the deepening misunderstanding between you and Lord Bo.

Or Your Highness

has no intention to do so?

If Your Highness refuse to go,

I

will not be able to report back to His Majesty.

Fine.

I'll go with you.

Princess.

Mo Xiao, if you're worried about

Princess' safety,

you may come along.

Please, Princess.

[Duan Mansion]

This old woman

is Lord Duan's mother.

Mo Xiao,

you too knew that Lord Duan's parent stays here?

When Lord Duan got into prison,

he's got only his mother.

Master found out

that Madam Duan is old.

She's blind, hard of hearing, and suffers many illnesses.

She's got only a few years left.

So His Highness let her stay here.

Uncle Duan always said

that he's all alone.

I never thought

that he has an old mother here.

This isn't

all Lord Bo did.

Princess.

After Lord Duan died,

Lord Bo has secretly ordered Wen Yan to prepare the medicine.

and send it to the Duan Mansion every month.

Because he can't bear to see her fend for herself.

Lord Bo

shouldn't have been

this sentimental.

Are you happy now, Princess?

Even though he's not

the Wolfie in your eyes,

he's not worthless.

Princess.

Actually...

Actually,

Master seems cruel.

Please give him

some time

and get to know more about him.

After all...

After all, it's sad

to be misunderstood.

It's like when

people found you

very cruel

when you chased Wolfie away.

Were you happy about that?

Well.

I don't want to hear about

your family affairs.

I have done my job here.

It's time to head back to the palace and report back.

I'm taking my leave.

Principality was executed

because he's corrupt and wicked.

Lord Bo has always been kind-hearted.

Let me take care of Madam Duan.

Who are you?

My father, Ma Ying,

is Lord Duan's friend.

You are Princess Zhai Xing.

Master told me about you

and General Ma.

Have Your Highness stopped blaming Master?

I've never blamed him.

I shouldn't just think about Wolfie.

I should also see the good in Lord Bo.

Surprisingly,

Yao Ji has done a good thing.

My Lord,

we don't have enough food for today.

And I'm not convenient for me to go out

because I'm brewing a medicine.

Could you go to the market

for me?

I'm afraid I won't able to do so.

Why not?

Mo Xiao, hurry back.

They've got to eat.

Yes, Princess.

Princess!

What is this?

Ever since Lord Duan got into prison,

many ministers

who were close to him

have stopped visiting us.

And they avoid us at all cost.

Your Highness are the only one visiting us.

Please get up now.

Get up now.

Here.

I'm glad that Lord Duan trusted the right person.

He was right

to treat Your Highness sincerely.

Also,

before Lord Duan

got into prison,

he knew he'd probably be executed,

so he gave me this letter

and asked me

to give it to Your Highness.

Is that why you

sent Mo Xiao off on purpose?

This is a serious matter.

I was left with no choice.

Only Your Highness can read it.

How outrageous.

I need to go at once.

[Duan Mansion]

Old lady,

where is Princess?

I don't know.

She said she needs to leave

due to some urgent matters.

She's left?

She's left without saying anything?

Princess would never do that.

Could it be that something happened?

Hai Die!

Is Princess back?

I haven't seen her since this morning.

Oh no.

Did something happen to Princess?

What's wrong?

Master!

What's happened?

Why are you back?

They changed the date for marshaling.

Father summoned me back.

What's happened?

Where's Zhai Xing?

Master.

It seems to be

Yao Ji's mischievous plot

when you're out of the city.

She came to see Princess in the early morning.

She said she received His Majesty's order

to make Princess and you reconcile.

Yes,

she took Princess

to visit Madam Duan.

And I went along.

After that,

I was ordered to go buy some stuff.

When I was back, Princess was gone.

Father didn't mention it

during the morning assembly.

It must be Yao Ji's trick.

That's careless of me to underestimate the enemy.

I'll head to the Grand Diviner Palace at once.

Mo Xiao, Wen Yan.

Get the men to search for Zhai Xing in the Imperial City.

Hai Die, you'll stay here and wait for updates.

Yes, Master.

Zhai Xing!

Don't be reckless.

You know what will happen if you take one more step forward.

I can kill her anytime.

Don't you dare touch her,

or I will not spare you!

You've become soft for her.

Shut up!

Wolfbone Flower?

Yes,

you guessed it right.

You used to shun flowers.

And you disliked it the most.

That's why there's no flower

in your room.

And now you're not wary

because you're eager to save her.

You fell off the cliff,

got seriously injured, and lost your consciousness.

In order to save you,

His Majesty made you take the medicine.

But that medicine

has left its side effects

on your body.

It weakens your body

and you will die at any moment.

At that time,

you should know well

that you can't

fall in love with a normal girl in this world.

Once the pain

makes you unconscious,

you

would hurt anyone.

I intentionally used the Wolfbone Flower against you

to make you

see yourself more clearly.

What a pity.

She's not Ma Zhai Xing.

She's Hong Er

that I've killed.

You caught her and her father.

Where is Mr. Fang?

He's dead.

I know

that you asked Mo Xiao

to release them that night.

In order to stop you from making a grave mistake,

I've helped you to kill them.

Where is Xing Er?

She's safe and sound.

I can return her to you anytime.

What do you really want?

If you still can't get over

the fact that I defeated you,

you can tell on me

for not executing Hong Er!

You are wrong.

The opponent I want

is not

such a useless Lord Bo.

I want you to turn back into the Lord Bo I want.

That's why I made

Hong Er's body looks like Ma Zhai Xing

and lured you here.

If His Majesty finds out

that Mo Xiao and you

protected Hong Er and her father,

what will happen to him?

What about other Night Fury members?

You are the most foolish.

You are digging your own grave

and trying to get the Night Fury killed

because of

a woman that you shouldn't love.

What do you want?

I want you to be the Lord Bo you were.

To do so,

Ma Zhai Xing must die.

Give Zhai Xing back to me,

and I will do as you said.

It is too late.

She is heading towards death step by step.

His Majesty!

I have a petition to make.

Ma Zhai Xing,

you belong to the Bo Mansion.

Lord Bo was ordered to leave the city.

But I have summoned him back

not long ago.

Shouldn't he be here

to make the petition with you?

This is a serious matter.

I cannot wait any longer.

I'm afraid you will not be happy

to know what happened and who involved in it.

His Highness

would have stopped me from making this petition.

Get up and tell me.

Thank you, Your Majesty.

What is the urgent matter?

Go ahead and tell me about it.

I would like to request Your Majesty

to reopen the case of Ma Mansion.

What did you say?

Among my father's letters

I brought back from

the Ma Mansion,

there is a letter

that the late Lord Duan wrote to him.

Hand it to me.

Yes, Your Majesty.

Lord Duan said in the letter that,

more than a year later,

the Second Prince tried to seize power

by gathering forces with Prime Minister.

Father, who found out about it,

along with several ministers reproach him.

Second Prince was so mad about it

and secretly swore to get rid of them.

And not long after that,

several ministers

were told off,

all of them were suspected of treason

and sentenced by Your Majesty.

Lord Duan got more suspicious.

That the Second Prince

and Jin Troop joined hands

to kill my father.

So you think

Lord Yun is the mastermind?

Outrageous.

Duan Yan Yu said that to mislead people.

Do you actually buy into it?

Your Majesty,

Lord Duan said

that Father was involved in border security all year round.

He was away most of the time.

Sometimes he only went back to the mansion

after a very long time.

He left the border and went back to the mansion on secret orders.

Without a powerful man

as the spy,

how could the murderer

be so accurate?
