[The Wolf]

[Episode 14]

These eight years

are just a nightmare.

Nightmare?

What are you talking about?

Nothing.

Lord Bo.

Xing Er.

I'm Wolfie.

You are not.

You're a tool of Chu Kui.

You and Ma Zhai Xing

have never had the fate to get together.

But only the deep hatred

that could never be solved.

In order to protect you

from being hurt by Chu Kui,

I could only push you

away from me cruelly.

My Lord.

A few days ago,

I was too kind to Ma Zhai Xing.

It misled all of you.

Starting from today,

be ready in your position.

No personal affair.

Keep a distance with Ma Zhai Xing.

Princess has a deep affection for Master.

It's normal that you were tempted by her.

Everything was fine.

Why do you give such an order, My Lord?

It seems that you've forgotten those

who destroyed Ma Mansion

and didn't remember that

Ma Zhai Xing is just a hostage.

Lady Bo

is just controlling herself now.

I have

nearly forgotten it as well.

I'm sorry to ask if

the order is given

on the reason of worrying Princess

to immerse herself deeper

and hurt master at last?

Affection with no happy ending

shouldn't have its beginning.

I was just emotional.

If a mess is caused,

I couldn't explain to His Majesty.

From now on,

both of us will keep a distance.

It's the best option

for Ma Zhai Xing

and also me.

But that's not easy

for Princess to give up her thought.

Let her see the true colour of me!

And she'll give up

very soon.

Princess.

You didn't have enough sleep yesterday.

It's still early now.

And you have already woken to make these for His Highness.

Don't you feel tired?

Why do you look

very happy?

Back then, I couldn't understand

why my aunt always kept smiling

when she cooked

for my dad who returned from an expedition.

But I know the feeling now.

It's a joy

to do something for your loved one.

You've changed!

You used to be competitive

in everything you do.

You always strive your best.

But since

you met with His Highness,

you've become

gentler.

Becoming more like a lady.

I used to be gentle.

I just didn't reveal it in the past.

Really?

What happens?

Where does this paper kite come from?

Princess,

this kite belongs to a kid.

This paper kite

dropped onto the roof of the mansion.

The kid is crying anxiously

at the door now.

I'll take it.

Bring me a ladder.

Yes.

Hold it for me.

All right.

Princess, be careful of your legs.

Don't worry.

Back then when I was at Wolf Hunt Mountain,

my tree climbing skill

was the top.

This roof

is lower than

the tree that I climbed before this.

Be careful.

Take it.

The string of this paper kite is broken.

The kid must be very sad

if he sees this.

Or could you head to

buy a

same paper kite like this one

and return it to the kid?

All right, Princess.

Your Highness.

You took so much effort

just to pick up

a broken kite?

I don't wish to see the kid to be disappointed.

So I didn't think much of it.

Although the string of this paper kite is broken,

it can still fly

after replacing it with a new one.

Your Highness,

have you ever flown a kite?

Princess.

Are you talking about a different thing with me?

I'm not talking about the kite.

I'm talking about you.

As a princess consort,

how could you be so reckless?

You haven't taken the prestige of

the imperial family into consideration.

If your behaviour just now

is being spread by the servants,

His Majesty will blame me

for not teaching my wife well.

You're right, Your Highness.

I'll be careful next time.

Please calm down your anger.

Princess.

Your Highness,

this is the breakfast

that I prepared specially for you.

What's wrong with him?

His Highness probably didn't get enough sleep

that makes him in a bad mood.

Indeed it's my fault

for not behaving well.

Tomorrow you'll lead the troop

and depart to Qitan.

Bring back the agreement of borrowing soldiers as fast as possible.

And also, welcome the Fourth Prince.

I obey your order.

By the way, you should bring along Ma Zhai Xing

when you fetch You Zhen for this time.

Imperial Father.

Borrowing soldiers is a big matter.

Why should I bring along Ma Zhai Xing?

This time, you are

going to pass by Kuizhou.

You can go over there with her.

By then,

give her some advantages.

In this way,

your relationship with her

will become closer.

Obey the order for the journey.

You may leave now.

I obey your order.

Zhai Xing will be in danger.

I must find a way to let her

leave here as soon as possible.

Hai Die.

Are you preparing

the clothes of His Highness for the journey?

Let me do it.

This is my duty.

No need to bother you, Princess.

Hai Die.

I feel that

you, Mo Xiao,

and Wen Yan

seem to avoid me in these few days.

Do you all know

the reason why I was being

treated abnormally by His Highness?

You've worried too much, Princess.

Since it's your request,

I'll just obey.

Just leave it to me.

You may leave for your matter first.

Yes.

Cloak.

Cloak.

What else?

Calligraphy and bamboo slips.

[Broken]

Broken.

Princess!

Princess!

Princess!

Why is this word again?

Why does this word

keep appearing to you?

Princess,

this word brings you bad luck.

Because of the word,

it worsens your relationship

with His Highness.

That's just nonsense.

A few days ago,

when you were celebrating Double Seventh Festival

the red string

between you and Lord Bo,

had inexplicably broken.

Also, this morning,

you prepared breakfast for His Highness.

And you picked up

a kite with its string broken.

That makes Lord Bo displeased.

I don't think those were coincidences.

That's all because

of the "broken" word.

It brings bad luck.

Princess,

show me your hands.

Why?

Just show me.

I told you to throw this

red string away, didn't I?

Don't you feel that

Lord Bo has been very weird

in these days?

That's why I think

that it was caused

by this broken red string.

I've been thinking about it for some time.

That must be caused by it!

So,

I went to Yuelao Temple

and requested the temple master to retie it.

Besides that,

I drew a divination stick there,

praying that Yue Lao always blesses our princess

to obtain loves from the lord

as soon as possible.

Thank you so much, Ma Jing.

Don't mention it.

Hopefully that the Yuelao temple

could make the wish come true.

Otherwise, I don't know

what I could do to mend our poor bonding

in the coming journey.

Don't worry. Everything will be fine.

Your Highness arrived.

Lord Bo is coming.

I'll go pack up the things for you.

What are you doing?

Recently, Your Highness

has been busy with the expedition.

Princess Bao Na has always liked

the scented things from Central Plain.

I have prepared

a superfine perfume

for Princess Bao Na and you.

I like scented things.

But I only use musk.

If Princess doesn't know this,

your good intention will turn out to be a foolish act.

Fortunately, the perfume

that I prepared is musk.

I went to the Ministry of Rites

and checked the previous

presents that the Court

gifted to them in the past.

I learned about their favourites.

I hope that

it would be helpful

for your mission.

I know that you are very smart.

But women shouldn't interfere the court administration.

It's strictly prohibited

according to the imperial rules.

Are you trying to

put me at a disadvantage?

I'm sorry for not taken much into consideration.

Don't get mad, Your Highness.

We'll depart by tomorrow.

Although it's an order from His Majesty,

I hope that Princess won't take it upon yourself

to make any decision.

Don't disturb any of my affairs

without my instruction.

Go rest now.

Yes.

What should be broken was not broken,

but being affected by it instead.

[Yun Mansion]

You did really well

on the matter of Princess Bao Na.

You managed to help me to withdraw myself.

This time,

I still have to rely on you

in assassinating Lord Bo.

Lord Yun has just experienced chaos.

Now is not a good timing.

Why must you attack Lord Bo

again at this moment?

There's no

better opportunity than now.

Lord Bo's skill is exceptional.

Moreover, he has spies around the Capital.

It's not easy to kill him.

But once he leaves Imperial City,

he will have no assist.

He couldn't escape from me

even if he has a superior ability.

It seems that Lord Yun

must take away Lord Bo's life

by this time.

I have nearly died once.

Nothing would hold me back now.

You must figure out a way

to get into Lord Bo's troop.

Lord Bo used to doubt anyone.

Do you have an idea

on how to hide your identity?

Don't worry, Lord Yun.

There will be someone I know

in the troop tomorrow.

I'm confident to make use of her

to approach Lord Bo.

Someone you know?

Will she ruin my matter?

Don't worry, Lord Yun.

He's just an entertainment tool

and also a stepping stone of mine

along the way to success.

I have seen

many capable people.

But I've never met someone

who could be so relaxed

while talking about

the plan to assassinate a prince.

Ji Chong.

You're either born to be not afraid of death innately,

or an extraordinary birth

to the world.

All you want is the outcome.

Are you going to

make friends with me?

According to your plan,

I've already sent someone to keep in touch with Jin Troop.

Just like what you said,

ambush him in the halfway

and join hand with me to assassinate Lord Bo.

What you need to do

is make Lord Bo leave the others

and stay alone.

And, assassinate him.

Come.

After it's done,

I'll reward you a lot.

I need a lot of money urgently.

If it's a success,

the amount given has to depend upon my request.

What do you think,

Lord Yun?

As long as you could clear Lord Bo,

the annoying doubt,

I wouldn't regret

to give you everything.

How generous you are!

But,

I wonder about your relationship with Jin Troop.

How could you make them

join hands with me?

That's nothing.

Not only Jin Troop,

I could join hands with anyone.

I have a bundle of friends of different backgrounds

at any place around the world.

We did always keep in touch.

Moreover, this is a deal.

I only keep money in mind,

not a person.

[Yun Mansion]

What an interesting lady!

It's time to play with you.

My Lord,

this is our current location.

It's estimated to arrive in Kuizhou after two days.

My Lord,

can we let the soldiers

drink some water

before we get to depart?

As your order,

I've already sent someone

to the hostel that we would stay tonight.

How is it?

Unexpected, right?

Are you happy?

Are you surprised?

It's you.

Why are you here?

I'm here to see you.

Trespassing the imperial troop

is a capital crime.

Are you worrying about me?

I...

Don't worry.

Lord Bo couldn't tackle me.

Don't make a joke.

I'm not here to collect debts today.

Can't you be happy?

How is the road situation ahead?

My Lord,

I've sent a few soldiers to explore.

They will come back to report later.

It'll be a long journey.

If you get bored,

I as the horse expert

could tell you some jokes.

You mean,

you are a horse expert?

Yes.

Who is that person?

Why is he here?

My Lord,

his name is Ji Chong.

He's a horse expert recruited from the folks.

He will be in charge of managing

the horses and the horse riders

of this journey.

By the way,

Ji Chong is the one

who was rewarded for saving Princess Bao Na.

That's why he knows Princess.

I've checked about his background.

Ji Chong helped the Court once

that makes him break the rules of his occupation.

In order to survive,

he became a horse expert.

He meets the requirements of the Court.

As a horse expert,

he should behave well.

As long as you are unhappy along the journey,

I'll chat with you.

Your Highness,

I have something

to report to you now.

He is Ji Chong.

I've known his background.

But the duty as a horse expert

is not

chatting with Princess.

Ji Chong

greets Your Highness.

Your Highness,

I think you've misunderstood him.

He's here to tell us that

there's danger in this route.

He advises us to change the route.

That's just one-sided words.

Why should I believe his words?

I can prove it to Your Highness

that I'm not lying.

This is Zhui Ri.

It's a very intelligent Golden Eagle

that I've been trained for years.

A few hours ago,

I sent Zhui Ri to fly within a hundred miles

and checked the topography.

And, I get to know that

the road ahead is impassable.

How can you prove it?

My Lord,

the sentries ahead reported to us that

the gorge a hundred miles away

is collapsed due to the continuous heavy rain.

It's impassable now.

So we have to change the route travelling to Kuizhou.

Ji Chong, you're amazing.

Your golden eagle is really awesome!

Thank you for your praise, Lord Bo.

It's my pleasure

to be able to help Lord Bo

and also Lady Bo.

Wen Yan.

Spread my order.

Take a detour from the southwest to Kuizhou.

I obey your order.

Apart from being a horse expert,

I order you to use your Golden Eagle

to check the route for us

and report it to Mo Xiao.

Lord Bo,

I apologize for having to reject you.

Ji Chong.

This is a good opportunity

to serve the Lord.

Unless Your Highness

could give me

an extra 50 taels of silver.

Since that's

an extra work to do.

I would accept it

if it earns me money.

100 taels.

Thank you, Your Highness.

Lord Bo.

Ji Chong is very wise

and having great martial skill.

Moreover, he's having Zhui Ri with him.

He can do it. He...

He...

He will be able to

assist us and we could reach the destination safely.

Thank you for your kind words, Princess.

But,

you shouldn't

praise the other man

in front of the Lord.

No wonder he's jealous

and unhappy.

He's not jealous at all.

He is blaming me for being nosy.

I've been heard that His Highness and Princess

are so much in love.

But why is it different from

what I've seen just now?

What happened to both of you?

I've no idea as well.

Maybe I'm not doing well enough.

It'll be good if you are not in a close relationship with him.

If not, you will be heartbroken

one day when Lord Bo is dead in another country.

Set off!

[Kuizhou]

[Castellan Mansion]

I've been waiting for days.

Do you think Lord Bo and the Princess

will still come to us?

They will be here.

Castellan, you've forgotten that

it's unplanned to

stay at Kuizhou for days.

But it's arranged specially by His Highness.

to the Princess.

What a good intention!

It can be seen that

Princess Ma is doted on a lot

by His Highness.

When one of the family members is crowned,

the other family members get the advantage too.

Princess has lost her home,

but every place in Kuizhou

is the place

where she could rely on.

I spent

a lot of taels

to obtain this position of Castellan.

This time, I could meet with

a famous person from the imperial,

Lord Bo.

As long as I treat

Lord Bo and Princess

nice,

I will be wealthy someday.

You are right.

Being nice to Princess

means a lot to Lord Bo.

That will bring you more benefits too.

Your Honor.

The troop of Lord Bo

is on their way here.

They are coming?

Hurry up!

Get ready to welcome

Lord Bo and Princess.

Yes.

Greetings to Lord Bo

and Princess Zhai Xing.

It's been a long journey

for you to arrive here.

Lord Bo and Princess Zhai Xing,

[Castellan Mansion] you may rest in Castellan Mansion.

After having a rest,

we'll have a welcome feast

for Lord Bo.

You only need to serve me alone.

I will stay in Castellan Mansion.

Kuizhou is Princess's home.

She hardly has the chance to return.

I'm sure she can't wait to return Ma Mansion.

I allow her not to stay at my side.

Your Highness never hide your affection

for the Princess.

Such a deep affection!

That's a fortune for Kuizhou

and also for me.

Your Highness, this is

your first time to Kuizhou city.

There's a mountain out of the city,

called Wolf Hunt Mountain.

It's known for wolves.

Since Your Highness likes wolves,

would you like to walk with me

in the mountain?

I'm not here

to have a trip.

If you want to walk around,

you may go by yourself.

Lord Bo, here.

Watching the wolves together?

I could only say

that's quite wonderful.

If it were watching snakes

and eating scorpions,

it'll be perfect!

The way Princess uses to

express loves

is really fresh and unique!

You make me feel ashamed.

Continue your laughing.

Now,

aside from having the same favourite on wolves,

I couldn't think of

any other hobbies

that we share.

You are too clever

and rational

that makes you forget that

Lord Bo is also

a normal man.

Man

will never love

a clever

woman.

Then what kind of woman

does a man love?

Men love those very feminine.

Do you mean that

Princess is going to dance

the Princess Dance in tonight's banquet?

Yes.

That dance

is a sword dance of Ma Troop

that used to be performed for celebrating the success.

But it turns out to be

a common dance

for the girls in Kuizhou.

Gradually, it became a dance

that must be performed

during festivals

and welcoming the guest in Kuizhou.

I've been heard of

Lord Bo has once let the soldiers

dance it

at the battlefront

to celebrate the victory.

Perhaps His Highness likes

the behind story of the dance as well.

Castellan Li,

think of it carefully.

Princess is the daughter of Kuizhou.

If we could let Lady Bo

dance the auspicious

Princess Dance.

Lord Bo must be very happy

with your consideration.

You're right.

Me?

This is a good idea.

-If it's performed by -Me?

the Princess herself,

it means that the whole Kuizhou

is a blessing for the victory.

His Highness will definitely appreciate

my wise action.

What a good idea!

How is it?

That's not bad, right?

You really

know everything!

Unluckily, you make a wrong plan.

Every girl in Kuizhou

can dance it gracefully.

Except me.

You're the daughter of General.

Why can't you dance?

My legs were injured before this.

So my dad

never allows me to dance it.

Ma Zhai Xing.

Think carefully.

Lord Bo is a warrior.

I'm sure he can't resist to

such an encouraging

Princess Dance.

If you can make it

and encourage the troop,

and pray for

a smooth journey,

Lord Bo must be

very touched

by your intention.

Princess,

there are still a few hours left.

I believe that it's not difficult

for you such a clever princess to learn it.

It'll be meaningful if I can make it.

Not only Lord Bo will be happy,

I can also bless my dad in heaven.

Thanks a lot, Castellan.

Don't mention that.

Princess, please.

Go ahead.

Let Lord Bo put attention

on you.

So I could have time

to do my things.

This is the seal of Princess Bao Na.

And also a handwritten letter

that imitated her handwriting.

Those are the things you requested.

You disguise as a soldier of Qitan

and hand this over to Lord Bo.

Then he will be alone

and head to the location where we ambush.

By having those,

I can confirm that Lord Bo

will fall into our trap.

You could even gain these.

You're really amazing!

I think that you're the one

who is hired by Lord Yun.

Why don't you appear in person?

As long as you got the things

to carry out your mission,

don't care about my look.

General Cheng.

You and your followers

are the first-class assassins

in Jin.

Promise me not to miss it.

You can recognise me?

The sound is familiar.

Having the chance to

meet with Lord Bo in Kuizhou

is really a lucky matter.

Don't mention that.

But,

I'm still

worried about it.

As three of you

have been refused

by Princess Ma for getting married.

I'm worried if Lord Bo

will get mad because of that.

As you know,

His Highness

really dotes on Princess.

You've worried too much, Castellan.

It's us who should be embarrassed.

We're here

with two purposes.

First, to please Lord Bo.

Second, to congratulate Princess Ma

for having such good fortune.

She made the right decision

to refuse us back then.

Yes.

In order to have a better future,

we will pretend ourselves for tonight.

Yes.

We're willing to

do anything for Princess Ma.

Childe,

you are so flexible to the situation.

Childe.

It will be a very important night

for all three of you and me.

To be a success or not, it all depends on tonight.

Childe.

I've prepared a special gift

for Lord Bo tonight.

I'm sure that Lord Bo will be very happy.

Thank you, Your Honor.

We prepared some small gifts

as subsidies

for today's expenses.

Please accept it, Your Honor.

My Lord,

three of them

were refused by Princess in the past.

The one who gave money

is Childe Qi, son of the late minister.

The next

is Childe Liu, son of the governor of Luzhou.

The last is the descendant of a great general,

Childe Qiao.

Welcome, Lord Bo.

There are so many anecdotes

about Ma Zhai Xing.

Lord Bo.

Lord Bo.

Please.

Please have your seat.

Be careful.

Your Highness.

The great businessman

and also those from

the wealthy family

of Kuizhou

are excited to join the festive

since they heard of this banquet

is going to be held to welcome Lord Bo.

That's good.

Thank you, Castellan Li

and every gentleman,

for welcoming me in Kuizhou.

I'm very happy tonight.

The Court still needs your support,

either financially or providing food

in the coming war with Jin.

Lord Bo,

it's our pleasure

to contribute

to Your Highness and also the Court.

We would appreciate it.

Let's pay respect to Lord Bo.

Respect, Lord Bo.

Respect, Lord Bo.

Good wine!

Castellan Li, thank you for your effort.

Your Highness,

I've prepared

a unique Princess Dance

of Kuizhou for you.

It'll be performed by the daughters of Kuizhou,

as a blessing to your victory.

The dance is known for its auspicious bless.

It suits our purpose.

We shouldn't wait any longer for that.

Have your seat.

Music.

Your Highness, are you satisfied

with the arrangement?

Great!

Isn't that Princess Ma?

Princess Ma is performing the dance

for her future husband.

She's so considerate!

Your Highness,

Princess has practiced the dance repeatedly.

She tried her very best in doing it

especially for you.
