Sunshine of My Life

Episode 24

You scared me.

What did the doctor say?

Does it still hurt?

Mo Fei.

What did your flat mate just say?

What happened to you?

Mister... Mr. Tang is there?

I didn't know that you're having a video chat. I...

Don't be so nervous, you two.

I'm really fine. Look.

Right?

You already went to the hospital, and you're fine?

I'll find time to visit you in the next few days.

Don't.

Don't... Don't come here. I... I just...

It was just abdominal distention,

and I went to consult a doctor.

Look. Am I not fine now?

And if you come here,

I won't have time for you either.

I've been busy with my classes lately.

But I'm worried about you. What should I do?

There's really no need to worry.

As for you,

take good care of yourself.

Is your work more important

or your health?

You're more important.

You're so good with words.

All right, don't work too late.

Okay. I'll get back to work first.

Bye.

That scared me.

Mr. Fang, you're having breakfast?

Have you had breakfast?

I did.

I found these laboratory test results

in your car.

You went to the hospital yesterday?

Your injury hasn't healed yet?

Why didn't you call me,

and even drove there yourself?

Those aren't my laboratory results.

Then why were they in your car?

Mo Fei got sick last night.

I brought her to the hospital.

You brought her to the hospital?

What about her flat mate?

She wasn't there, so I brought her to the hospital.

It was no trouble.

No, but...

She's... She's your family doctor.

I told you, it was no trouble.

Then... When I got sick in France last time,

you didn't help me book a consultation.

Mr. Fang, do you really like Mo Fei?

Don't you know why I came to France?

Of course I do.

I just think

that you're a bit vague now.

How so?

Look.

You bought an apartment here

and became neighbors with Mo Fei, right?

You even got into a fight for her,

and you got injured.

And you toured her around Cayman.

You even gave a lecture at her school.

When something happened to her,

you were the first one there.

Mr. Fang, based on my experience,

after an actor portrays a role for a while,

he gets into character

and turns serious.

I think you're serious now.

It's dangerous.

You're so concerned about Mo Fei.

After a while,

you won't be able to tell if it's genuine or fake feelings.

Are you finished?

Mr. Fang, could it be that you've really fallen for Mo Fei?

You can go to work now.

Aren't you going?

What do you care?

You must go to Cayman before 9 a.m.

Go.

Mr. Fang...

Go.

Cut the crap.

If you like her...

Go now.

Okay.

Let's look at these drawings.

Take a look.

Pleated skirt.

The waistline, the skirt.

Navy collar, turndown collar,

and band collar.

That's all.

Let's take a break for 20 minutes.

Mo Fei.

Did you understand this one earlier?

How do I handle this one?

Here?

Based on what's up there, it should be this way.

From here to here.

This part should be right.

By the way, shouldn't we get the result

for the outfit we sent to the competition already?

Why did I forget about that?

Let's take a look.

Look. Look at that cutting.

The cutting is very bold.

And look at the color combination.

The effect of that color combination is very nice too.

When will it be our turn?

Soon.

It's coming.

It's so nice.

It looks even better on the runway.

Yes.

It's much better than what I imagined.

It's perfect.

Songtang

Iridescent Clouds and Mist

We've confirmed that the theme of our show this time

is "Iridescent Clouds and Mist”.

At the same time, we've also confirmed

that the focus will be on traditional Chinese elements.

In Mingyuan, as the brand

that has always adhered to traditional Chinese elements

in its designs,

Songtang should be given utmost importance.

So I'm considering

letting Cheng Yang

handle Songtang's designs this time.

Many of you

might not have formally met Cheng Yang yet.

Hi, I'm Cheng Yang.

I hope we can collaborate well in the future.

Thank you.

Even if Cheng Yang is quite young,

he already won

the LVMH young designer award abroad.

I think all of you have already heard about that.

I believe that you can also give Songtang

new life.

Let's all work hard together.

By the way, you'll be responsible for the men's clothing.

Okay.

All of you should know

how important this show is.

So I hope

that all of you will do your best.

Okay, that's all.

Cheng Yang, wait a moment.

Duoduo

I'm sorry.

So, how are you adapting to the company?

It's fine, I'm good.

The design environment in the country is different from overseas.

I was afraid that you wouldn't be able to adapt to it.

I'm fine. Thank you, Ms. Xia.

Letting you handle Songtang is my idea,

and that's also what Mr. Tang wants.

Because of the current market,

Songtang's sales haven't been good in the past few years.

But as the oldest brand

in Mingyuan Fashion,

you should know

what it signifies.

Ms. Xia, don't worry.

I'll surely do my best on this season's designs.

What are your thoughts for this season's designs?

I want to use splash ink painting elements

as the main point of the designs.

Splash ink painting?

I don't have a concrete idea yet.

I must still find some inspiration.

Okay.

Let's see after you have

more concrete ideas.

Okay.

All the best. I'm looking forward to your designs.

I'll go ahead then.

Bye, Ms. Xia.

Thank you for coming tonight.

Now

is the time to announce the best design in the competition.

The winner is...

Number five, John McCarthy.

What?

We lost just like that.

They'll return our design

to us, right?

I think so.

Are you two all right?

Yes, thank you.

It's fine.

But you must know

why your design didn't win.

Why?

Do you still remember when I told you

to pay attention to details?

Wasn't it enough?

It must have more depth.

And you need brighter colors.

After all,

this is a fashion show held

for photography.

Aesthetics is very important.

Understand?

Perhaps we're not suitable to join

that kind of fashion show.

But your design

used the most suitable fabric.

Really?

Thank you very much.

Why are you here?

I came to see how the concept selection is going.

The thing is

Cheng Yang wants to use splash ink.

Splash ink?

Yes.

If he wants to showcase the effect of splash ink in the clothing,

he needs to do some work on the fabric first.

So now...

Tell me

about the concept of the splash ink.

How should it be presented?

You've seen splash ink before.

It's a random way of presentation.

A form of beauty brought about by accident.

So we can't foretell

the effect of the clothing

and what the finished product looks like.

I think it's quite interesting.

That means all the designs he'll make

are unique.

Yes, that's a great idea.

But during actual implementation,

I think this kind of randomness will present some problems.

And we can't foretell

how serious the problems will be.

We also can't control the consequences.

How do you want to handle it then?

I think

that even if what we produce are works of art,

they're business products at the same time.

Business products must lean towards the taste of the public.

Cheng Yang's thoughts now

are too idealistic.

It's very impractical.

This is what I think.

We hired Cheng Yang

hoping that he can

give new blood to the company

and bring new things.

So we must give him his space.

I know what you mean.

However,

his designs must be enforceable.

Because we don't have a lot of time

for experiments.

We're all still figuring out

the enforceability.

Let's not shut down his idea

because of that.

Listen to me. Let's consider it more.

Come in.

Ms. Xia.

The fabrics we received have some problems.

We wanted plain weaves,

but they gave us twill weaves.

How do you do your work?

You're coming to me for something this trivial?

Ms. Xia, you can't blame me.

The supplier didn't verify,

and just made a decision themselves.

No matter what the reason is,

you didn't do your job well.

Don't evade responsibility.

It was my first time coordinating with the supplier after all.

So...

So I must also give you the time and space

to familiarize yourself?

Was Mr. Tang also the one who hired you?

I...

Ms. Xia.

Did Cheng Yang say something

to infuriate you?

All right, get back to work.

Ms. Xia.

Even if I haven't been working in Mingyuan for a long time,

I want to share your burdens.

What if I work at women's clothing?

You want to work for Cheng Yang?

No, that's not what I meant.

I want to work for your team.

But our company has a policy.

Assistants can't choose the designer to work for.

I know, but you have that authority.

That's why I came to beg you

to let me do women's clothing with you.

I'm really not good with men's clothing.

I'm not the only one who works on women's clothing.

Cheng Yang also makes women's clothing.

And he just came back from France.

He's quite popular now.

Why don't you want to go to his team?

Cheng Yang makes great designs indeed,

but your designs are more elegant and practical.

Compared to his designs, I like yours better.

And what's the use of being popular?

It will blow over soon.

You're Mingyuan's chief cornerstone.

Without you, will Mingyuan still be what it is?

That's enough.

You don't need to suck up to me.

It's fine if you want to work with me.

I'll talk to Liu Pei tomorrow.

But let me be clear first.

If you want to work with me,

you can't be muddleheaded again.

I won't allow this kind of fabric problem

to happen again.

I got it.

Thank you, Ms. Xia.

I'll get going.

Mo Fei.

Mo Fei.

Mo Fei, I want to ask a favor from you.

Why are you so shy with me? Tell me.

For Andre's assignment this time,

I would like you to ask Fang Xiaoyu to check it for me

and provide some comments on my design.

He's Cayman's director.

And he knows Andre very well.

With his help,

I can surely pass this.

Regarding this matter...

You also know that Fang Xiaoyu

is very unbridled.

He easily gets too enthusiastic in helping others out.

I'm afraid that if I go to him,

I may cause some trouble.

So, I'm sorry.

You're right.

I didn't think this through.

No.

What if... What if I help you take a look?

I think that the two of us together

won't be worse off than him.

I can't read French.

Is it here?

302.

Why are you here?

How did you find this place?

I'm capable.

My network of contacts

is very wide.

Do you want to trespass on personal property?

So what if I do?

Hit me.

If I hit you, won't I be like you then?

I came

to tell you something very important.

If you don't let me in,

I won't leave.

Why do you always pull this trick?

Will you let me in then?

If you don't let me in,

I'll just sit here.

You...

How long do we need to draw it this time?

Andre's deadline is quite tight.

I'm not sure either.

Is it about two weeks?

Your neighbor is Chinese?

That's great.

If you don't let me in,

I'll go and chat with them.

Did you see that?

A woman went inside Fang Xiaoyu's home.

I didn't see it.

Fang Xiaoyu was even the one who pulled her inside.

Okay, stop being nosy.

Let's go, come on.

Did Fang Xiaoyu give this to you?

I guess so.

That playboy.

He's with another woman,

and he's still pursuing you.

Miss, open the door, okay?

Fine.

Come on.

Nice place.

You feel so at home.

Tell me what you want to say,

then leave.

I think you should seriously consider

Haiyao and Cayman's collaboration.

Are you finished?

Even if you're Cayman's director,

for two or three years,

you weren't involved in the actual operations.

This time, you're the main designer of the show.

Of course you must make it impressive.

Are you finished?

I'll help you.

I'll do everything to help you.

As long

as you agree to collaborate with me,

you'll surely have both fame and fortune.

Are you finished now?

Are you still not satisfied

with my offer?

Fang Xiaoyu, I...

I really don't get you.

What exactly do you want?

What do you want me to offer

before you are satisfied?

Bai Xiaoman.

Have you forgotten who you are?

Or have you forgotten who I am?

Working with you

will make me have both fame and fortune?

You mean

that compared to you,

the Fang family is worse off?

You and Zhu Haitian are a great match.

You're so suitable for each other.

Get out.

I'm not finished yet.

If you still have some pride,

please cooperate.

Go.

Mo Fei.

Mo Fei.

Come and take a look.

The woman who came to see Fang Xiaoyu is so beautiful.

She has a nice figure too.

And she's dressed in branded clothes.

Is she gone?

She's gone now.

I'll return the medicines to Fang Xiaoyu then.

Mo Fei?

Why are you here?

I should ask you that. Why are you here?

I...

My friend lives here.

What about you? What's your excuse?

Why should I give an excuse?

I live here.

If you say that I'm your friend,

I don't agree.

I've never thought of you as my friend.

Take your bag and leave.

Oh my god. What kind of logic is this?

Mo Fei, you're incredible.

What's the matter? Having Mr. Tang as a boyfriend

isn't enough to satisfy your vanity?

Bai Xiaoman, what are you talking about?

You think Mo Fei is like you?

Just to play up to someone with a higher social position,

you're being with someone like Zhu Haitian.

You're crazy.

Don't go.

This is my house.

Fang Xiaoyu, you don't know her at all.

Don't let her fool you.

Listen.

Mo Fei is very opportunistic.

Every time, she uses men

and...

Shut up, Bai Xiaoman.

I'm warning you.

Don't let me find out

that you're causing trouble for Mo Fei again.

Take your bag and leave.

Go.

What's the matter?

Mr. Tang, why are you here?

How is it going?

This aqua series will cost more.

I'm perfecting the design

to save the cost as much as I can.

Don't consider the cost.

Just make your design great.

Xueling also introduced

our design proposal just now.

Friendship Sales Model This product launch

is very important

to Mingyuan.

Because it's a new business card

that we're giving out to the world.

Will Mia from SLC come too?

Yes.

They're very interested

in our embroidery workshop

and intangible cultural heritage.

That's good news.

It seems like the experts are aware

that we have embroidery workshops and doing charity work.

That also means

that they're really considering

the acquisition.

Right, Mr. Xia?

A lot of the people in the industry are coming this time.

Mingyuan can't embarrass itself.

Xueling.

The Design Department must lead this.

Yes.

Do it well.

I must also tell you

that this time,

another very talented designer

will be participating in this.

His name is Cheng Yang.

This time, he'll be cooperating with Xueling

for this product launch.

Mingxuan, what...

What does that mean?

Why is a newcomer participating?

How will they be cooperating?

Tell us clearly.

Mr. Xia, don't misunderstand.

Cheng Yang is just responsible

for Songtang's designs.

Ms. Xia is still the one responsible in general.

Perhaps you all don't know much about Cheng Yang.

I hired him

during my last trip to France.

He just won

the LVMH young designer award.

He's very talented.

I hope that everyone can support him more.

I know about Cheng Yang.

If Songtang

can make use of some youngsters,

I think that's a good thing.

Right?

We can train them.

In the future, he'll be able to take charge of things.

Xueling.

Does the Design Department have any objections

about the personnel arrangements that the general manager proposed?

No.

Mr. Xia.

Any comments from you?

It's the chairman's decision.

I have no objections.

Okay, that's all for today.

Tell me.

What do the father and son want to do?

They've always wanted

to help Songtang.

What's strange about it?

I didn't say anything

about them helping Songtang, right?

But Xueling, I feel bad for you.

How much effort did you put into

Songtang's project?

Why is a new designer suddenly participating?

He's obviously trying to replace you.

Don't you understand?

No, Dad. You've misunderstood.

Mingxuan told me beforehand

about letting Cheng Yang handle Songtang's designs.

I agreed to it.

You agreed?

What were you thinking, Xueling?

This is...

This is such a big deal.

You should at least discuss it with me first.

I think

being responsible for Songtang's designs by myself

is very tiring.

Now, I have less work to do.

Isn't that more relaxing for me?

Silly girl.

Has it ever occurred to you

that if this happens,

everything you did for Songtang's project before,

all the efforts,

all the work,

is like making a feast then just letting

the new designer eat it!

Look at you. It's not that serious.

How can that happen?

How can that not happen?

You... You took a luggage

and left for a couple of days last time.

You might have forgotten that,

but that father and son didn't.

They're doing this

to tell you

and me

that with or without you,

Songtang's project can still go on!

Dad, that's really not the case.

That's enough. Let's stop talking about this.

Drink some water, don't be mad.

Aren't they obviously dealing a blow to you and taking revenge?

They're such villains.

Fine.

I'll stop.

Xueling.

Just pretend that you didn't hear

what I told you today.

Don't interfere.

I'll take care

of the rest.
