going to run the course on his own.

and the exit nearest to the
murder site is in a blind spot.

That's in line with the philosophy
of the prison dog program.

who smelled something.

Rex, he led us to that
curtain for a reason.

Sarah found no physical evidence on it

- but maybe Rex caught the perp's scent.

You know the finalists,

they wanted to have a private
toast to Francis at the arena.

maybe they'll have it there.

That'll put all the finalists

Martin as a corrupt judge

would make the perfect
patsy. So he murders Francis

and frames him for it.

And then disappears without a trace.

Well, he couldn't disappear entirely.

I scrolled through the dog
show footage and came up donuts.

The camera just follows the dogs.

What about the security camera?

Well, here's where it gets interesting.

Now the angle is bad,

but at some point every one of
the 50 contestants walked by.

I was able to identify
every single one of them,

our suspect.

Here he is, cleaned up and enhanced.

Dressed like a celebrity in hiding.

And dodging security cameras like a pro.

So we're likely looking
for a seasoned criminal.

Still, if he was posing as a handler,

Well, he and his dog were
assigned a bench, next to Juliet's.

dog is a West Highland terrier.

Well, that's a visual match to the dog

that Juliet Tatum described to Charlie.

they're pretty uncommon
on this, you know,

east island.

There are only a handful of
licensed breeders in Newfoundland.

Now based on Sarah's
estimated age of our Westie,

two litters were found in
contention. Twelve dogs.

- Were you able to track down the owners?
- Almost all of them.

A good number of the dogs
were sold out-of-province.

Seven of them were
licensed to local residents.

It was a bit of a wild
goose chase. But then,

the breeder did say that one
of the pups was returned twice.

- A problem dog?
- Exactly, yeah.

The breeder brought him back to
the pound. So I called them up

and they knew exactly which
Westie I was talking about.

Any idea where he went?

He was adopted

by the prison dog program.

So, Francis's killer had a prison
therapy dog in the competition.

But what did the dog prison program
have to do with the dog show?

Francis and Anton started the program.

- Anton's a silent partner.
