=Episode 16=

But Mo Fei,

if you really like him,

you must be able to handle a lot of pressure.

Last time, I said that he was not that simple.

Actually, I don't mean it that way.

I'm saying

you must not forget

that Xia Xueling is around him.

Their parents have long considered them

to be a pair.

Actually,

Xia Xueling called me today.

Why did she call you?

To warn you?

To demonstrate her strength?

Both.

Does Tang Mingxuan know?

He's so busy, I don't want to tell him.

You're quite thoughtful.

Actually, the way Tang Mingxuan

deals with relationships,

his IQ and EQ, is very problematic.

However, in terms of marriage,

it must be tied up with Mingyuan.

He can only be with Xia Xueling.

If they're together,

they'll be a powerful combination.

If he chooses you,

that means he must go against

everyone around him.

Do you think he can do that?

Tang Mingxuan is responsible for the Mingyuan Group.

To him,

love is just a small part.

So, are you really prepared

to be with him?

It's getting late. Come on.

Give this venue contract to Mr. Wu.

Okay.

Xueling? Come in.

Ms. Xia.

I've already revised the sketches

for the ten new clothing designs.

I based them

on the remaining undamaged embroidery items at Ms. Li's,

including

those that can be mended in the next few days.

I revised them while referencing the original versions.

Check if there's any problem.

Incredible.

If there's no problem,

I'll send the sketches to the factory.

Okay.

Xueling.

Let's have a chat again.

I'm sorry, I don't have time.

What about after work?

I'm meeting someone.

You think this is just a simple matter.

You think that love is enough?

Do you really think

that you and Mingxuan can be together?

Their parents have long considered them

to be a pair.

Mo Fei, do you know how to go here?

Where?

You have a call.

(Tang Mingxuan)

He hung up.

Call him back. What if it's urgent?

I'm sure it's not urgent.

If it was, he wouldn't hang up.

If there is something important,

he'll call back.

Do you think that it's not urgent

or are you scared?

Scared of what?

Scared that he's not coming.

You've been waiting for him for three days.

If Tang Mingxuan doesn't come,

will you be very disappointed?

I won't.

Hello?

Hey, Mr. Tang.

Please wait a moment.

Hello?

Mo Fei.

I'm sorry.

I forgot the time difference earlier.

I'm not sleeping yet.

What are you doing now?

What else can I do?

I'm making clothes.

You didn't call me for one or two days.

What were you doing?

I've been very busy at the office in the past couple of days.

Didn't I promise

to visit you in France?

But the company we want to collaborate with canceled our meeting.

So I can't go there for now.

Are you mad?

It's fine.

Are you still working?

Get to work then.

I must go and make clothes too, bye.

Wait.

There's something very important

I want to tell you.

What is it?

I

really

miss you.

I miss you too.

Good night.

Good night.

What... What's the matter again?

Shouldn't you do something before going to bed?

Kiss me.

Good night.

Good night.

Yang Guang, what's the matter?

Mingxuan, a worker captured Lu Jun in a photo

entering the new embroidery workshop.

Wait for me.

I never expected this to happen.

Our family is so misfortunate.

But he already made that mistake.

He must know that it's against the law.

I know.

You won't sue him, right?

Mr. Tang, I promise.

I'll surely handle the embroidery items well.

I can even...

I can even get some embroiders

from Nanjing, Yangzhou, and Suzhou.

I'll mend all the destroyed embroidery items.

Let's not think about these things for now.

Give me some time.

Let me think about it carefully.

Mr. Tang, listen to me.

I'll pay for all the losses.

And I guarantee

that I'll finish everything

before the product launch.

I'm begging you.

Ms. Li, Lu Jun did such a thing now.

We don't know

what else he will do in the future.

No matter what happens,

we must punish him.

Have some water.

As long as you don't sue him,

I'll agree to all your conditions.

Mr. Tang, I'm begging you.

Hello?

It's me.

What are your plans today?

Work and go to class.

What else?

Eat.

That's all obvious.

I'm busy.

I'll talk to you later, bye.

Hello?

Why did you hang up?

You're taking things for granted.

You really won't consider

that guy across from you?

The two of us

can only be friends.

God.

Please also give me

a thoughtful and handsome friend.

Open the door.

Go.

I'm sure it's for you.

It's your friend.

Hey, you're so ruthless.

He's so nice to you.

Mo Fei, why did you hang up?

Didn't I tell you that I was busy?

The Chinese style

and the contrast stitching have a lot of attitudes.

The pleats at the waist are

effectively connecting the top and the bottom

and alleviating the hard lines of western cutting.

It also makes the waist's curve softer and more elegant.

The fabric is perfectly straight, elegant until the edges.

The silhouette is very smooth.

The inner and outer sewing is fine and consistent.

The needlework is very meticulous.

Only this kind of waistline can highlight one's figure.

And I thought I won't be able to find any problems.

You must add a layer of lining at the waist.

That can better absorb sweat.

It will feel more comfortable when the clothing is worn.

Remember.

No matter what kind of clothing it is,

comfort must be the priority.

Mo Fei, if he goes on talking,

I'm going to abandon Cheng Yang already.

If you can raise the waistline 2 cm higher,

it will add more elegance.

That way, this clothing will be more perfect.

Don't worry. You'll surely get a high score from Andre

for this clothing.

But if I raise the waistline 2 cm higher,

will it look tacky?

Tacky? How come?

Forget about tackiness first.

If I raise the waistline 2 cm higher,

it won't be the style I want.

I want to create clothing with my own style,

and not something with a uniform standard.

You don't trust my professional opinion?

No.

I agree with the points and shortcomings

you've mentioned before that.

I just want to take a stand on this.

Okay, very good.

Thank you.

Thank you.

Mo Fei, you owe me a meal.

I'll buy you a meal another day.

When?

When everyone's free.

And thank you for your suggestions.

I'll revise it now.

You don't care about anyone when you're busy.

I admire you. I'll get going.

Bye. Thank you.

You're leaving?

Bye.

You're so ruthless.

Duoduo.

Mingyuan Fashion is the industry's benchmark.

It's also the platform that all youngsters dream of.

Of course I feel the same.

On this platform, I hope

that I can showcase myself.

Mr. Hu.

Help me finish this as soon as possible.

Okay.

It's you.

You know each other?

She's Pan Su's student.

And she also joined

our Chinese Style Fashion.

Why do you want to work for Mingyuan?

I know that Mingyuan Fashion

is too far-fetched for a student like me

who just graduated from school.

I'm also not talented enough.

But that is the reason why I want to work hard.

You all must be aware already.

Next, I think the Design Department

must add new blood.

So this time, I've decided

to go to Paris

and meet designers who just won awards.

Xueling.

I'll let you meet the designers

in Milan.

Okay.

Perhaps the structure of our Design Department

might change a bit,

but no matter what happens,

Ms. Xia will still be the core.

Ms. Xia.

These are the resumes of everyone who passed the interview today.

How many people passed?

30.

Oh, right.

Do you still remember

the designer Shen Jiaxi?

(Personal Resume, Shen Jiaxi)

(Shen Jiaxi, Designer)

She was a contestant

at Chinese Style Fashion, right?

Yes, that's her.

Based on her credentials,

she should have been disqualified.

But I thought

I should let her pass the initial interview.

I'll let you decide whether to keep her or not.

She's Mo Fei's classmate, right?

Yes, that's her.

Not bad.

And I think

that you don't need to worry

about certain things.

Look, in today's meeting,

Mr. Tang announced

that no matter which designer joins us,

you'll still be the core.

That means he knows how important you are.

Is that so?

Yes.

I don't think he knows clearly yet.

This is what we'll do.

Ask Shen Jiaxi to come and see me.

Okay.

By the way, I'm going to Milan after two days.

I'll let you handle the design studio.

Don't worry.

Give us the necklace back.

You can't come in!

This is illegal!

Let me go!

Hurry.

This is illegal.

Mo Fei.

What's going on?

They're the ones who called me a thief.

Stop! The necklace isn't here.

Stop.

Hi, Cheng Yang.

I haven't seen you for a long time.

How are you?

These girls are my friends.

She really didn't steal your necklace.

How can you be so sure?

I've never lied to you. You know that.

Please spare them.

Okay.

But only for tonight.

Cheng Yang, what are you two doing?

Your girlfriend is so noisy and ugly.

Bye.

Mo Fei.

What did that girl tell Cheng Yang?

Translate.

Cheng Yang said that I didn't steal the necklace.

They've misunderstood.

Not that one.

What did she say about me?

About his girlfriend.

Duoduo.

Speak.

She said that you were ugly and noisy.

Duoduo, Betty was just speaking nonsense.

She doesn't think when she speaks.

Betty. You call her so intimately.

How long have you known her?

Duoduo.

Don't touch me!

You just kissed her!

Duoduo, let me explain.

This is the situation.

During my first year in France,

I stayed at Betty's place.

That's why we know each other.

Didn't you tell me

it was a foreign student's dorm?

It was.

Their family has a hardware business.

I deliver goods for them during my free time.

I was too tired later on,

so I stopped living there.

You're still arguing with such conviction until now.

Deliver goods?

I don't think your relationship with her is that simple.

Duoduo, think about it.

If I had other thoughts,

why would I tell you to come to France?

That girl kissed you in front of me!

You're still lying?

It happened too quickly.

She was trying to sow discord between us!

You both kissed already.

Leave!

Duoduo.

I don't want to see you again.

Cheng Yang, leave!

I won't leave!

You know how much I love you.

Cheng Yang.

You two should calm down first.

Help me take care of her.

If you have time, talk to her for me.

I'll do what I have to do.

Go home and calm down too.

Let Duoduo calm down.

I'll get going then.

Duoduo, it's quite hot.

Drink slowly.

I want to have another one.

Hey, Duoduo. Hot chocolate is quite fattening.

You...

What am I scared of?

I'm single anyway.

Listen, starting today,

I'm going to drink and eat to my heart's content.

I won't go on a diet for Cheng Yang anymore.

That's enough.

Do you feel happier after drinking it?

I'm very happy.

I've never been this happy before.

Don't drink too much. It's really fattening.

Why is she smiling at me?

A girl.

Who?

She's smiling at me.

She's coming in.

This is Meng Jing.

I mentioned her to you before.

She's my classmate.

Let me introduce you.

This is Duoduo.

This is Meng Jing.

Hi, Duoduo.

Hi.

Mo Fei mentioned you before.

Mo Fei, the tour is very important.

Let's go.

We're going to be late.

You can go ahead.

I'll stay with Duoduo longer.

It's fine. Do what you need to do.

You don't need to stay with me.

How can I do that?

Look at how you are.

I'm worried about you.

Look, I'm finally single.

You must give me a chance to meet guys, right?

What if a handsome guy comes here?

You'll be in my way.

Go.

We'll get going then.

Go.

Send me a WeChat message if you need me.

This is so nice.

Mo Fei.

Didn't you say that you were not interested in coming here?

Do you miss me?

Hey, you're overthinking.

Our school organized this tour.

Did you go to the school to find Mo Fei?

I think I've seen you before.

Yes.

I'm Cayman's design director,

Fang Xiaoyu.

Hi, I'm Meng Jing.

Let me tell you about this place.

It's fine, we can look around ourselves.

Come on.

I heard that you'll be graded for this.

If I introduce the place to you,

you'll surely get twice the result with half the effort, right?

Mo Fei, we don't know the way anyway.

Let Mr. Fang show us around.

Look, this is Cayman's headquarters in France.

It's the architecture of the 19th century.

Around 1946,

Cayman officially moved into this building.

1946?

In 1945,

Germany surrendered.

Paris formally entered into a period of recovery.

That was also the time

that Cayman started growing.

Mo Fei, let me take this call.

Look at the architecture over there.

10th century architecture

is just so unique, right?

Very artistic.

Mo Fei, something happened at my apartment.

I must go back to take care of it.

Do you need my help?

I'm fine, you can do the tour first.

I'll come back to find you if I finish early.

Just go to my office

to find Mo Fei then.

Sure.

I'll go ahead then.

Bye.

Call me if you need anything.

Let me continue.

Why did you make decisions for me?

You can't just stand here and wait.

It's so cold.

You must surely wait for her in my office.

Right?

Let me continue the introduction.

Actually, this architecture is especially mysterious.

In the morning sun,

it's like a rich French woman.

Prestigious, romantic.

At noon,

it's like a polite English gentleman,

exuding an aristocratic aura,

unapproachable.

At night, it becomes more interesting.

Under the gorgeous lights,

it's like a dazzling Hollywood star.

Mysterious, mesmerizing.

Your description is so accurate.

Listen.

A mature designer

must use all sorts of methods

to describe your work.

Try to think about it.

At midnight,

without the noisy crowd

and gorgeous lights,

doesn't Cayman seem like

waiting for a long-awaited love?

Flustered, lonely,

just like me.

Doesn't it?

It's so cold outside.

Should we go inside?

And you're best at ruining the mood.

Let's go inside.

I'll tour you around first.

Afterward, I'll let you meet

my French boss, Anthony.

Let's go.

That floor is full of design studios.

This floor is full of offices.

The conference room is over there.

Hello.

My boss should be in that office up ahead.

-Hey. -Hello, Fang.

Nice to see you.

It's been so long.

Hello.

Girls here are from everywhere in the world.

What they have in common

is that they're all strong and not boring.

Their best feature is that they're full of passion.

Let's go.

Okay, bye.

Hi.

Xiao, I'm so happy that you came.

I'm sorry, I didn't go to welcome you.

I'm really sorry.

It's fine.

You can speak Chinese?

Yes.

His wife is from Shanghai.

I'm from Shanghai.

Hi, I'm Mo Fei.

By the way, why did you ask me to come here?

Be patient.

You haven't introduced me to this beautiful girl yet.

Is she your girlfriend?

No, we're neighbors.

Right.

She's my neighbor.

Mo Fei, this is Anthony,

my boss in France.

This is Mo Fei.

She just started studying in ECSCP.

She's Andre's student now.

You must be special to be Andre's student.

You're too kind.

However,

your dress is very nice.

Where did you buy it?

I made it myself.

This design is very nice.

I really like it.

Look, we're good friends.

If you need anything,

come to me, okay?

Thank you.

Are you ready?

I have good news.

You, my friend,

will become the chief designer.

Really?

Yes.

You must join

Cayman's product launch next season.

Okay?

Okay, no problem.

Grab this opportunity. We all believe in you.

This is my office.

Take a look around.

This is where I climb to the top.

Can I take a look at this?

Sure.

I can tell that Anthony really likes you.

Trust me, he's well-known

for having sharp eyes and being difficult to please.

Based on the look on his face when he saw your dress,

you'd know how much he likes you.

What do you think?

Are you interested to work for Cayman?

I told you before.

I don't want to think of these things now.

My workload in school

is already too much for me.

Is it because of Tang Mingxuan?

If it's because of him,

I'll look down on you.

I just told you.

It has nothing to do with him.

Then stay.

Indeed,

a company like Cayman

is a very rare opportunity

for me.

But you also know

that I'm still two years away from graduation.

I don't want to make a decision so soon.

I believe that I'll find something suitable for me in the future.

Mo Fei.

I think your problem now

is that you're overthinking.

I think that if there's an opportunity,

you must grab it.

Opportunities don't come by often.

If you miss it,

you won't be able to showcase

your creativity and insight.

But I think

that I am the one

who should create opportunities for myself.

Meng Jing is looking for me.

I'll get going.

Hey, Meng Jing. Where are you?

Mo Fei, I'm sorry.

I'm busy here.

I won't go to meet you anymore.

It's fine. Do what you have to do first.

Let's keep in touch when we're back in school.

See you.

Bye.

(Mo Fan)

(Video Call)

Fei.

What's going on?

I saw what you posted in WeChat Moments.

Don't worry. I'm an adult.

You're such a nag.

Can I not worry about you?

If working at the bar is too hard,

stop working there.

You must focus on what you want to do.

All right.

Didn't you say that you were at Cayman's headquarters?

I heard that it's very grand there.

Show me.

Let me show you.

Do you see it?

Isn't it super amazing?

Listen, here,

while you're walking,

you can even feel the passage of time in the air.

Nice. It's different once you go to France.

You're speaking so eloquently.

When have I ever

not spoken eloquently?

Take good care of yourself.

I'll talk to you later. Bye.

Bye.

Mo Fei.

I'll drive you home later.

It's fine. I'll go home by myself.

I'll get going.

Okay.

Why didn't you make a sound?

Was that Mo Fei?

Yes.

Why did I see Fang Xiaoyu there?

Was he? Are you mistaken?

That's impossible. I was looking behind you for a long time.

I saw it clearly.

It was Fang Xiaoyu. Tell me.

Are they together?

Wait.

Are you going to be

your cousin's informant again?

I won't fall for it this time.

How can I possibly

be an informant?

I'm concerned about Mo Fei.

Just tell me.

Fine. If you don't tell me,

let's

talk about us?

About us?

Yes, about us.

What about us?

We have a bunch of things to talk about.

Come on, I'll take you somewhere.

Where? Don't you need to go home?

What would you do without me?

Look at that aggrieved facial expression.

I'll bring you to eat good food.

I'm aggrieved? I'm great.

Come on. Just...

Just accompany me, okay?

I'm starving.

Will you take responsibility if I starve to death?

Fine. You're so strange today.

Let's go. Come on.

Don't drink so much.

Do you know how many calories there are

in one bottle of beer?

Yes, it's equivalent to a bowl of rice.

I haven't eaten well for many days.

I need to feel happiness in my life.

No, you'll get drunk.

I'll get drunk then.

I'm very light. Just bring me home.

I'm not going to your house.

It's late at night. If I carry you to your house,

your aunt will kill me.

Coward.

Why don't you want to go home?

Isn't it great that it's lively at your home?

It's not that lively.

There are lots of rules.

Think about it. At home,

don't you feel annoyed when they tell you what to do?

I used to feel a bit annoyed.

But since my sister went to France,

I realized having someone who tells you what to do

is actually quite good too.

My sister was doing that to take care of me.

Yet I

never did anything for her.

You're the younger brother.

It's just right for an elder sister to take care of her brother.

But I'm all grown up.

I'm the only guy in the family.

If I don't take care of them, who will?

Your sister is so independent.

You don't need to take care of her.

Just take good care of yourself.

Besides,

you're also working hard.

You're the junior

Ms. Linda values the most.

Thank you for comforting me.

It's nothing.

It's your birthday today.

I must say something nice.

How did you know that it's my birthday?

That's a trivial matter.

Can you hide it from me?

Besides,

isn't it indicated in your WeChat?

Okay.

Cheers.

My sister used to spend my birthdays with me each year.

But she's so busy.

It seems she has forgotten about it this year.

Just now,

who called himself

a man?

Now, you're complaining?

Come on, it's not too late yet.

I won't sing it.

Because in the fashion industry,

talent has no conclusive definition.

Different people have different views.

So in making clothes,

experience is valued more than talent.

Whether or not you can gain the experience

will depend on your long-term determination

As long as you're earnest, hardworking, smart and pragmatic,

Mingyuan can give you the experience
