Sunshine of My Life

Episode 17

Mo Fei, I have good news.

Mingyuan hired me. Look!

Really? You're incredible.

See? I knew you could do it.

You always don't feel confident.

Now, Mingyuan hired you.

So, do you believe me now?

To be honest,

it still feels like a dream.

And Ms. Xia personally hired me.

She called me to her office earlier

and promised me a lot of things.

It was Xia Xueling?

Yes, she's actually quite nice.

And she kept complimenting me.

Mo Fei, what's the matter?

You don't like her?

No.

We're just not that close.

I can't say that I like or don't like her.

Don't overthink.

Which meal are you eating now?

Since I came here, I've never eaten a proper meal.

You're so busy. What are you busy with?

I know.

You must be busy

with romantic encounters in France.

Right?

Encounters?

I am only going to school or just staying at home.

I haven't even gone to the Louvre yet.

I have to go.

I'm still at the office. Let's talk when we're free.

Bye.

Work.

I can't bring trouble to Ms. Huang again.

I must find a new one.

Excuse me, I saw the notice.

You're hiring sales assistants?

Yes, are you the one applying?

Yes, I am.

What's your name?

Mo Fei.

What's your major?

Fashion design.

Great.

We often have Chinese customers.

Can you show me how you'll do it?

Of course.

It looks unsophisticated. I don't like it.

Hi, is there anything I can help you with?

It's rare for me to come to Paris for a business trip.

I'm planning to buy a couple of Paris fashion clothing here.

Indeed,

Paris fashion is every girl's dream.

If you don't bring back a few clothes,

it will be a shame indeed.

I want to ask you.

What type of clothing do you usually like?

I usually wear professional clothes.

I don't have many days off in a year.

All right. I'll choose a few for you.

Okay.

These two really suit you.

Let me tell you about this first.

This is actually a shaped dress.

It will highlight

your slim waist all the more.

And it doesn't have excess designs.

It's very clean and elegant.

Even if you wear it to work,

it won't be too flashy.

I have a slim waist?

I have two kids already.

Really?

I can't tell at all.

In this case,

this one suits

a cool, working mom like you.

You're so good with words.

Okay, I trust your taste.

Check my size.

I want both of them.

Thank you for trusting me.

This way please.

Sure.

The lady is buying these two.

Cash or card?

Card.

Good.

Even if I can't speak Chinese,

I can tell

that you did very well.

What did you say your name was?

Mo Fei.

Mo Fei, see you tomorrow.

Thank you. Thank you so much.

Dad.

Any news from SLC?

Not yet.

SLC already canceled twice on us.

They don't seem to put much importance on the Mingyuan Group.

I'm afraid that as we wait longer, more issues will arise.

Don't worry about this.

Let me handle it.

I think there's a need for me

to go to France again.

That's good. It's quite difficult.

But I believe in you.

I'll do my best.

Pudong, Shanghai to Paris

I hope you'll have a lovely stay.

Thank you.

Mingxuan.

You're here?

After I got off the plane,

I went to SLC.

I checked

her assistant's tone.

I think she still doesn't want to see us.

Did we come here

a bit too hastily?

I don't think the problem lies on our side.

I'm sure Cayman

pulled some tricks.

What should we do then?

For top fabric manufacturers like SLC,

their priority

might not necessarily be the price.

As long as I get to meet them,

I'll have a way of convincing them.

Okay. Go and rest.

Okay. You too, Mingxuan.

Why are you here?

Isn't it obvious?

What time is it?

Let's have dinner.

I won't go to dinner anymore.

I have lots of assignments today.

With a free tutor like me to help you with your assignments,

you'll get twice the result with half the effort.

I...

Mo Fei, where are you? I'm in Paris. If you have time, let's have a dinner.

♪You suddenly appeared at 10:05♪

What happened? Why are you so happy?

I... I'm busy.

I'll go ahead, bye.

You...

What happened?

♪You suddenly appeared at 10:05♪

Aren't you supposed to arrive after two days?

Why are you here today?

The matter I have to handle has been brought forward.

Most importantly,

I want to come earlier to see you, okay?

♪You turned without saying goodbye♪

Where are we going now?

Where do you want to go?

Where do you want to take me?

Have you been to the Seine and Marne Rivers?

Not yet.

I reserved a boat.

Let's have dinner there tonight.

Okay?

We'll eat there?

You don't like it?

No, it's just that

I actually want to go with you

to another place.

♪I want you to suddenly appear again♪

You're the boss.

♪Let's start over♪

You don't want to have dinner with me at the boat

because you want to come here?

I came here

for a reason.

Our teacher gave me an assignment.

He told me to come here

and enjoy the view.

Your teacher gave you this assignment?

Who?

Andre?

How did you know?

I'm afraid that in your school,

only Andre

will give such a meaningful assignment.

Do you know what his intention is?

Initially,

I didn't understand at all.

The whole city of Paris

started from that place,

Ile de la Cité.

The first batch

of Paris residents

moved here

at around 3rd century B.C.

But during the Middle Ages,

Paris could only seek development

on both sides of the Seine River.

But no matter how they developed themselves,

this place

was always the core location

of royal power and religious rights.

So when you come to Paris,

only by coming here

will you feel

the spirit of Paris.

Hasn't your teacher

expended much care and thought on this?

After hearing what you said...

Look, the sky is red.

You mean the sunset?

Yes, in ancient Chinese times,

they called the red color as crimson.

It's the color of the sunset.

So which color do you want to use

for your design this time?

For Chinese style, of course I must use

a color that can represent China the most.

And I think the colors

are crimson and vermilion.

They're not as bright as the three primary colors in the western world.

Crimson and vermilion are like

the Forbidden City's red wall

with a bit of yellow ochre color.

The colors are very warm,

rich,

and pure.

I think those are the colors that can represent China the most.

Just like us Chinese,

very tolerant and warm.

Are you done with your assignment then?

In choosing the color, I still have

some minor issues.

I can't completely grasp it yet.

Have you realized

what your biggest problem is?

What is it?

You know all the traditional colors very well,

yet you couldn't make Chinese-style clothing.

Why?

Because your design

has too many restrictions.

The so-called Chinese-style design

isn't in form, but in spirit.

All the traditional elements

and designs

are just carriers.

It's not a must to have them.

But without those elements

and craft,

how can I express Chinese style?

Come and take a look.

What is this?

What is it?

What do you think of when you see this?

I think

that the sunset is magnificent,

but dusk is fast approaching.

That's right.

China

is in your blood

and in your soul.

So you don't need to emphasize it.

The only thing you need to do

is breaking all your restrictions.

"The setting sun is like melted gold, the night clouds are like jasper.

Where am I?"

Look, doesn't it look like

an imperial dress

in gradient colors?

It seems like you got it.

Nice.

Thank you, Mr. Tang.

It's quite cold in Paris at this time.

Yes, I feel like I'm not wearing enough clothes.

What should we do now?

Call the police first.

They're over there.

Run!

Tang Mingxuan?

They came to seek trouble again.

Hurry!

Don't go over there.

I'll go and help him.

European Hospital

I've already helped you submit your assignment.

Andre said that after you came back to school,

he'd discuss it with you in private.

Thank you. If not for you,

I surely couldn't even finish my assignment.

Don't be shy.

We're classmates.

Thank you.

Wait for me.

He's awake.

How do you feel?

One who survives a great disaster is destined to have good fortune.

Come here.

Does it hurt?

Don't touch it.

Thank you.

Come on.

Tang Mingxuan.

I don't want to see you.

Do you think that since you're injured,

you can do whatever you want?

I just want to talk to Mo Fei.

Please.

I'll wait for you by the door.

I'll help you.

The person I hate is finally gone.

I'm sorry.

I'm the reason you're hospitalized.

But thank you for saving us both.

Stop.

I didn't save you two.

I just saved you.

I think you're quite seriously injured.

And your face is wounded over here too.

I'm doomed.

My face is ruined.

It's not that bad.

The doctor said that it was just an external injury.

It's just an external injury.

But your right hand's injury is more serious.

You must be careful.

It's just a minor injury.

How is your face?

A girl's face can't have scars.

It's just a scratch. I'm fine.

My goodness. If your face is ruined,

you can only rely on your talent.

You're still in the mood for jokes?

Did the police catch them?

What did they say?

No. When they got to the scene,

they were already gone.

They can't go

to Betty's house to arrest them.

You must fix this problem soon.

Yes.

Mingxuan also said the same thing.

Can you not mention his name

in front of me?

Fine.

You're a patient, you're the boss.

You must have been scared yesterday.

Yesterday, good thing Mingxuan and I...

I told you.

Can you stop mentioning his name?

Okay.

I'm sorry.

I'm really sorry.

Miss.

Do I need your apology?

What... What do you need then?

I need you to turn back on him and come to me.

Fine.

It seems like you're okay.

I'll get going then.

By the way, give me your key.

I'll pack some stuff for you.

Check if there's a key in the drawer.

There's a key under the rug in front of my door.

Okay, I'll go ahead.

Bye.

Come and find me after you're done packing.

We must thank Fang Xiaoyu

for what happened yesterday.

Do you want to consider

reconciling with him?

Why are you so concerned

about what happened between us?

Did he tell you something?

He didn't.

It's just that you're both unhappy whenever you meet.

I don't want you to be unhappy.

I can't clearly explain

what happened between us so quickly.

Let's not talk about it first, okay?

You haven't eaten. I'll go and buy some food.

Wait for me upstairs.

Avoiding things will never resolve any problems.

What happened to your face?

It's nothing.

You came to see Duoduo?

She won't open the door for me.

Help me.

I...

Thank you.

I can only help you until this point.

Go inside.

I'll go and pack some things for Fang Xiaoyu.

What happened to him?

Ask Duoduo.

Duoduo, don't act this way.

I told you I didn't want to see you again!

Why did you come to gross me out?

Duoduo, it was really my mistake.

You liar!

Tell me. How can I not see you?

I can't live without you.

Go!

Duoduo.

Can you really let go

of our relationship all these years?

I can't.

We got this doll together

from a claw machine at an arcade.

You said it would be the mascot at our wedding.

You won't leave?

I'll leave.

Duoduo, where are you going?

Slow down, wait for me.

Auntie Lu.

Xueling.

You finally came here.

I'm so bored.

I haven't seen you for a long time.

Right. Why didn't you come to visit me?

Come on, let's sit over there.

Okay.

Are you quite busy lately?

Mingxuan's not at the office, so there are lots of things to do.

That's why I only came to visit you now.

Sit down.

Look, I brought your favorite snack.

You're so thoughtful.

Smell it. Does it smell good?

It smells so good.

I make great stuffed osmanthus.

I'll tell you to come over and have some when it's ready.

Sure.

Here, have some tea.

Mingxuan's not at the office.

You're responsible

for everything.

It must be hard on you.

Thank you, Auntie.

You look paler today

than you usually do.

Have dinner here tonight.

I'll tell Mrs. Wu to cook some good soup for you

to nourish you.

Okay. Thank you, Auntie.

Actually,

it's fine for work

to be tiring.

However,

Mingxuan is in France now.

I'm quite worried.

He'll be fine. He's an adult.

It's not his first time going abroad.

And Yang Guang is with him.

Initially, I hoped that you could accompany him.

I'd feel more at ease that way.

I know your good intentions.

I'm just afraid

that I won't be able to come and visit you often.

How come?

What's the matter, Xueling?

Did something happen?

Auntie.

Originally, Mingxuan had intended to go to France this time

to handle company matters.

But I heard

that he has actually gone to visit a girl.

A girl?

Who is the girl?

No way.

You've met her before.

She was the girl who came with me here last time.

Her name is Mo Fei.

I remember her.

A new designer.

You said and you and Mingxuan valued her.

She doesn't seem like

such a scheming girl.

Why is she so bad?

She's getting involved in other people's relationship

and stealing someone else's boyfriend.

How hateful.

Could you be mistaken?

I'm not sure either.

However,

Mo Fei

is younger and more beautiful than me indeed.

Who said so?

To me, no one is better than you.

I've long considered you as my daughter-in-law.

It's fine. Let me handle this.

Without my permission,

Mingxuan wouldn't dare to bring another girl home.

But will Mingxuan feel unhappy?

He's unhappy?

In this home, I'm the one who must be happy.

Don't worry, I know what to do.

Auntie, you're so nice.

We're here.

Why are you here?

To visit you.

Visit me?

You came empty-handed?

Yes.

You're so thick-skinned.

You came uninvited.

I didn't ask you to come. Please leave.

I packed

some clothes for you.

Will I use what you packed?

Don't push your luck.

Hey, stop arguing.

We're in a hospital.

I packed the clothes. I did it.

Mo Fei.

You stayed with me the whole night.

You must be tired.

Your face is yellow now.

You haven't eaten just to stay with me, right?

You saved us both.

We must take care of you.

Besides, last night,

I wasn't alone here.

Mingxuan was also here.

So in order to thank you,

I especially hired a caregiver for you.

I guarantee that before you get discharged,

you'll be very healthy.

Do I need you to hire a caregiver for me?

Can't I...

Aren't you sick now?

Can you do it?

Also, everything I'm doing

is to thank you

for taking good care of Mo Fei.

You don't need to worry about that.

Taking care of Mo Fei is my own business.

You still have work to do, right?

Go.

I won't delay you.

There's no need. No rush.

I want to spend more time with you.

Mo Fei.

I want to have some juice.

I'll go and buy one for you then.

Let's be frank with each other.

Don't think that since Mo Fei is your girlfriend now,

your work is done.

Next,

I'll still continue pursuing her.

First, I want you to know

that I'm serious about Mo Fei.

Also,

I think you still haven't grown up.

You're being childish.

Whether I'm childish or not has nothing to do with you.

You're very serious with her?

What can you give her then?

It was Fang Qian before.

Now, it's Mo Fei.

What can you give them?

The one most suitable for you

is Xia Xueling.

What's the matter?

Are you scared now?

It seems like your relationship

isn't as strong as you say it is.

You don't need to worry about my relationship.

Okay?

Tang Mingxuan.

Do you know Mo Fei?

I do.

When she's happy,

I can laugh with her.

When she's sad,

I can lend her my shoulder.

When she's in danger,

I can step forward and defend her.

What about you?

You'll console her

through an overseas call or a video call?

Why are you so concerned

about my love life?

I'm concerned about my sister.

Don't you get it?

Since I was little,

I've always treated Fang Qian as my sister.

We grew up together.

I refused to use my relationship

for the interest

of the company and clans.

I see.

That was how you tricked my sister.

Look.

Can we get through to each other?

No.

I'm telling you today

that I'll continue pursuing Mo Fei.

Aren't you doing everything that you're doing now

to seek revenge against me?

No.

I want you to lose.

You can take revenge against me,

but let me tell you.

If you're doing it

through Mo Fei,

if she gets hurt even a little bit,

I won't spare you.

Don't worry.

I'll make her very happy.

Your juice.

The straw.

I'll go to get it again then.

Come back.

He's sick.

He needs to exercise.

Let's go.

Let him have a good rest.

No, he's all alone. This way...

The caregiver will arrive soon.

You're disrupting their work this way.

Come on.

Tang Mingxuan, are you a thief?

You just took her away.

Don't you think that taking me away earlier

isn't good?

Is it inappropriate

for me to take you away earlier?

Didn't we already find a caregiver for him?

The caregiver will surely

be more professional than us in taking care of him.

You're right,

but he saved us after all.

Even if we're not friends

and just strangers,

shouldn't we also take care of him?

I think you're absolutely right.

But taking care of a friend

has a limit.

Don't you think

that the ridiculous things he said

are very out of line?

Was I out of line then?

I'm not blaming you.

I just think that he has other motives.

Shouldn't you consider it

from my perspective?

I'm often not in France.

If he's often around you

making these unreasonable requests,

have you considered how I would feel?

But trust is the most important thing

in a relationship.

If you don't even trust me...

It's not that I don't trust you.

I'm telling you clearly now.

He's the one who has a problem,

not you.

But I can't control

what he wants to do.

I've already refused him as much as I can.

What do you want me to do?

He's injured because he saved us.

Mo Fei, are you fighting with me

because of him?

I'm not fighting with you.

What do you want to do then?

Go back and take care of him?

Do you feel unhappy

that I brought you home?

Are you mad at me

because of this?

I don't want to fight with you.

I just really don't understand.

I think that you don't trust me.

In this case,

Xia Xueling is working with you,

I feel unhappy too.

But did I say anything?

Because I trust you,

I've never said anything.

Why don't you trust me?

Xueling and I are colleagues.

Why are you dragging her into this?

Fang Xiaoyu and I are also just friends.

What are you doing?

You scared me.

I'm sorry.

Hey, what are you doing?

That playboy Cheng Yang.

Look.

You're drinking too much.

Drink some.

I'll drink, you stop drinking.

I want to eliminate

all the playboys in the world.

Fine, eliminate them.

Just eat some food, stop drinking.

Mo Fei, why are all men this way?

They have a girlfriend, but they still want other women.

He makes promises to you,

but he's romantic with another woman

behind your back.

They're bastards.

Men don't consider what women are thinking.

Tang Mingxuan just had a big fight with me

because I was taking care of Fang Xiaoyu.

What?

Fang Xiaoyu saved him,

and he was mad because you were taking care of him?

That's absolutely ridiculous.

Tell me.

What misunderstanding do he and Fang Xiaoyu have?

Could it be

that Tang Mingxuan stole his girlfriend before?

Is that possible?

Then what happened between them?

What happened?

I don't know either. Don't ask me.

I'm so annoyed.

Mingxuan.

I think Mia's assistant is annoyed at me already.

I stayed at her office all day today,

but I didn't get to see Mia.

Mingxuan.

Aren't you feeling well?

What's the matter?

You don't look too well.

I think that if I get to meet Mia now,

I won't look pale anymore.

Mingxuan, I can fight

prolonged battles.

But I just want to know, whether this is worth it?

SLC is our top choice.

And it's also our only choice.

So

we must get it.

By the way,

did you find the Chinese designer

I asked you to find?

I've already contacted him.

Don't let others steal him.

Don't worry.

I'm Tang Mingxuan.

Hi, Cheng Yang.

Take a seat.

Sir, what would you like to have?

Coffee please.

How did you find me?

We've been paying attention

to Chinese designers from major fashion schools

in Europe.

And the main point

is that you just won

LVMH young designer award, right?

So I want to invite you

to join Mingyuan Fashion.

Mr. Tang,

I'm not exactly considering going back to China.

Why?

I want to gain more experience here

and establish my own brand.

You're also aware that it's easier to do that in Europe.

Are you interested

in Chinese style fashion then?

To be honest, I really like

Chinese style designs.

But they don't do much of those in Europe.

Our design studio will just make designs

with eastern elements once in a while.

It's different from Chinese style.

Actually, our company started

with Chinese style clothing.

But for Songtang's change of image,

the key lies in the short supply of designers.

Chinese style designers are very few indeed.

That's because many people believe

that China doesn't have its own fashion.

But actually, a very long time ago,

China already produced

its own fashion output.

Thank you.

Please enjoy.

It's easy to say,

but I'm afraid that it will be hard to implement.

Traditional culture is extraordinary

because stuff from ancient times is being used today.

I think this is a kind of heritage,

and not just an element or a mark.

But instead of just watching,

it's better to do it yourself.

That's what my experience tells me.

I can satisfy

all your conditions.

You don't need to worry about international connections.

Because our company will acquire international companies.

This is one of our strategies.

Also, Cheng Yang,

through your designs,

I saw

deep Chinese cultural sentiments.

And I've already discussed with our Design Department.

You can bring the Chinese elements

from ourselves

to the world.

I hope that through our collaboration,

you can let Mingyuan

change its image successfully

and go global.

Collaboration Proposal Doing your own thing is the best choice.

Mr. Tang.

I will seriously read this collaboration proposal.

But I can't answer you now.

To be honest, another company is talking to me.

That's not important at all.

I think you deserve to have the best choice.

Thank you for your coffee.

Thank you, Mr. Tang.

Thank you.

Nice to meet you.

Mingxuan.

How was your discussion with Cheng Yang?

Before us,

someone already talked to him.

Which one?

That's not important.

Come on, let's go to find Mia.

There are some blouses here with different styles.

On this side, there are more dresses.

There are all sorts of patterns.

I think this one suits your skin tone.

You can try it.

There are some lace edges.

No, thank you.

Bye.

Why... Why are you here?

So you work here.

Why are you here?

Are you here to apologize?

Why should I apologize?

Why did you come here then?

Mo Fei.

Is there any problem with this man?

Hi. I want to ask when Mia

will come to this store.

If you want to find Mia,

you can go to her office.

But I can't disclose her schedule to you.

And Mo Fei is working now.

General Manager of Mingyuan Group: Tang Mingxuan This is my business card.

If Mia comes here,

I hope that you can call me.

Mo Fei, talk to other customers.

Thank you.
