[The Blooms at RUYI Pavilion]

[Episode 15]

Where's the carriage?

Miss, I'm really sorry

After we entered Jichang City

it got really crowded

The carriage went into the crowd

There's... There's nothing I could do

All right then

-Thank you -Thank you, miss

Landslide on Mount Tai

Hong Village

Why would Master go to those places?

Silver

So much silver

We have silver

This is great

-Come on -Let go of me

-Let go of me -Stop it

You're kidnapping a girl in a broad daylight

Is there no law in Jichang City?

What's it to you?

Go away

Miss, they want me to serve His Highness, Duke Su

Both of you are spouting nonsense

Duke Su is in Hengjing City

Why would he come to Jichang City for such a shady business?

What do you know?

Duke Su arrived in Jichang City this morning

Cut the nonsense. Take her away now

-Let's go -Wait

How about this?

Let her go

Take me instead

She refuses to go and keeps making a scene

What if she upsets Duke Su?

I will go

She's prettier than this performer

Miss,

thank you

Lead the way

Hold on

What is your name?

My surname is Fu

As for the rest, I will tell Duke Su myself

Lord Shang

Your Highness

The ten li long pavilion and Hong Fu Temple...

Have they been destroyed?

Yes

Since the Emperor sent his order last year,

construction has been ongoing

Starting from the foot of Mount Tai,

winding all the way up the mountain road

The pavilion roof, beams and pillars are made of white jade stone

We've hired numerous craftsmen

We even

received a tablet

from the capital written by the Emperor

Unfortunately,

in the middle of the construction...

Most parts of Hong Fu Temple had been destroyed

They're now buried under the rocks

We're still cleaning the place up

This way please

Watch your step

How is it?

You're brilliant, Your Majesty

You knew Shang Kai Yang

would send many men to Yu Hua Summer House

and his residence would be left unguarded

Hence, Xu Jia could steal the ledger with ease

But

I've gone through it the entire afternoon

There's nothing wrong with this ledger

Maybe I'm careless

I couldn't find where the problem lies

When there's no problem,

that's the biggest problem

I find it suspicious as well

We've searched other places

but we didn't find any other ledgers

Today, at Yu Hua Summer House,

I found sulphur powder

Sulphur powder again?

Shang Kai Yang

didn't hesitate to blow up the mountain just to hide the truth

I believe

there must be some secret in Yu Hua Summer House

Xu Jia,

send some men to keep an eye on Shang Kai Yang's residence

If they're indeed hiding a ledger,

they will give the game away at some point

[Da Xiong Hall]

Since no one has seen Ms Rong and Ms Liu in the temple

maybe they changed their mind halfway

and went somewhere else

Ms Liu wasn't in the carriage

and neither of them are here

Rong'er must have lied

Where on earth is she?

But when she left,

she was alone and wasn't kidnapped

She even told me to convey a message to you

I believe she has something to do

Such a wild child

What should I do if something really happened to her?

Enough. Don't scare yourself

A kind girl like her will have God's blessing

Since she's not in Yun Luo Temple,

let me send you back to the capital first

I'll ask the others to look for her

We have no choice

Thank you, Little Marquis

Oh, no

It might rain soon

Why don't we spend a night here?

What's the matter?

We'd better leave now

Such a huge pit

What's wrong?

Put down the curtain

Don't come out. Stay inside

This is my first time

seeing you in such a mess

What should we do now?

Why don't we go back to Yun Luo Temple first?

We've travelled a long way

It's too far to walk back

There's an abandoned temple nearby

Let's take shelter there

Come

[Change Begins at the Root]

[Change Begins at the Root]

Your Highness

Who are you?

Your Highness, someone used your name to kidnap common girl

I knew you'd never do such a thing

So I came here to remind you

But those two guys tied me up

I don't know what happened

Why are you here?

Can... Can you see me?

You...

What's that smell?

[Could it be aphrodisiac?]

I wonder who would do this to you

No

I'm feeling a little dizzy too

[What is Rong'er doing here?]

My lord

I've taken care of everything

Why is the girl still conscious?

Nong Nong?

Back off

Yes

Young Master

Young Master

It wasn't easy for us to lure Duke Cheng here

If we manage to catch him red-handed,

Duke Su will definitely be punished

Retreat

Okay

Wen Xing, keep this in mind

You can use anyone in this world

but definitely not her

Nong Nong

Little Follower?

Come out

Let's go

Stop

Master, what's wrong?

Nothing

Let's go

I guess many things were going on in that room

You couldn't even put on your shoes

Forget it

I'll buy you new shoes when we get to the capital

Don't worry about it

I came to inspect Jichang City

on the Emperor's orders

Little did I expect that as soon as I arrived,

I would be told that there's a girl in Duke Su's room

And even more unexpectedly, that girl would be you

No, no

It's a misunderstanding

Someone must be using this opportunity

to entrap Duke Su

Never mind

Of course I believe you

I won't misunderstand either

Thank you

Otherwise, I wouldn't be able to explain...

Take a rest

Little Marquis

I know there are strict norms between men and women

But I'm soaking wet now

What am I supposed to do?

Besides,

you're not looking at me

Does it make any difference whether

I'm clothed or not?

You...

You're shameless

Yes, I am a shameless man

It's not like you didn't know

I didn't really mean it

You don't want me to take off my clothes

That's why you're flattering me

Did you think I'd fall for it?

I wasn't flattering you

You said it yourself

You said you've held countless women in your arms

I didn't slander you without reason

Okay, okay

It is all my fault

That's not what I meant

Why are you sitting so far away?

If you catch a cold,

it'll be a pain in the neck

Sit closer

Don't worry

I won't even look at you

let alone disrespect you

Do you

come to Yun Luo Temple very often?

You saw it too

I go to Yun Luo Temple almost every month to light up lamps

The place my late mother frequented the most

was Yun Luo Temple

So that ever-shining lamp

was lit for Lady Xindu?

No

Don't call her Lady Xindu

That's a great humiliation

Marquis Xindu

doesn't deserve to be in the same category as my mother

What exactly happened between you two?

Why is there such a big grudge?

My grandfather gave Feng Lai Yi

to my mother as a dowry

Xindu Residence looks glamorous on the outside

but there are many things to be taken care of

Not only did my mother have to feed us,

she also had to run and expand Feng Lai Yi

It was tiring

She was already weak

All that work

made her very sick

It was painful to watch,

so I offered to run errands for her

I went to other towns

to oversee Feng Lai Yi's expansion

Feng Lai Yi has branches

in other towns

So

it's you who's been running them

Yes

I was young

I didn't know any better

I just relied on my martial skills

to keep embezzlement in check

I remember my last trip

was to Huizhou

I spent a few days there

However, when I came back...

[In memory of Lady Xindu, Wu]

[Has that scoundrel returned?]

[Where is he?]

[You have the audacity to come back?]

[Kneel down and kowtow to your mother]

[How did mother die?]

[Tell me honestly]

[Where is Physician Xiao?]

[I want to know the cause of her death]

[You want to know the cause?]

[Give me the stick]

[I will kill you]

[She still talked about you before she died]

[She still thought about you]

[Scoundrel]

[Scoundrel]

[I'll kill you]

[In memory of Lady Xindu, Wu]

[Young Master, take a seat]

[It's time to do the two things I told you to do]

[Hand the title deed to Feng Lai Yi]

[and the seal over to me]

[Before your mother passed away,]

[she was most worried about you and Feng Lai Yi,]

[do you know that?]

[You wanted to kill Mother]

[because you realised Feng Lai Yi]

[had been making so much money]

[But Mother wanted to run it herself]

[and refused to hand it over to you]

[You are really unfilial]

[How dare you point your sword at your father?]

[You're a disloyal and unfilial brute]

[Father]

[Are you worthy to be my father?]

[Back then, you promised mother]

[you wouldn't marry another woman]

[But you broke your word]

[You knew Mother was ill]

[yet you took them in while I was away]

[Young Zhang Yan]

[Mother was so upset, she threw up blood]

[And you have the cheek to ask for the title deed?]

[If Mother really wanted you to have Feng Lai Yi,]

[why didn't she tell you]

[that the title deed to Feng Lai Yi]

[was in this house all along?]

[Mother's corpse has barely cooled down,]

[yet you can't wait]

[to take them into our house]

[You even took in her relatives]

[and hired them as a housekeepers]

[Young Master]

[Young Master]

[If you're so resentful of me and Yan'er,]

[we will leave this instant]

[Shut up.] [It's none of your business]

[Where are you going?] [Sit down and eat]

[Now,]

[you've become a happy family]

[Someone has to leave]

[But it's not you]

[It's me and Mother]

[Zhang Yao Cheng...]

[Doting on his concubine and killed his wife]

[A man without virtue]

[I hereby renounce our relationship as father and son]

[Henceforth,]

[I shall adopt my mother's last name]

[and be named as Wu Bai Qi]

I'm sorry

For what?

For the things I said to you in Xindu Residence

I was being self-righteous

I'm sorry

You didn't know any better

You shouldn't be sorry

Besides,

if it weren't for your scolding,

I wouldn't have try out for Corporal

In fact, I should be thanking you

It has nothing to do with me

In any case,

I need to apologise to you

In the future, just don't misunderstand me

I will be more than happy for it

But, between you and Marquis Xindu,

there's a huge gap in status

If

you continue to act the way you did to him,

not only will you not have your revenge,

you will...

ruin your own reputation

Ms Fu

I used to call you old-fashioned and dogmatic

You were more of a pain in the neck

than the geeks at school

But in truth,

I really think

you're completely different from the other girls

[Decree]

Your Highness, I didn't expect you'd be so hasty

as to show up in the middle of the night

I'm worried about the soldiers

Of course I'd travel day and night

Let me ask you

Does Duke Su live here as well?

Yes

All right. Take me to see him now

But it's already late

Just do as Her Highness said

Cut the nonsense

Affirmative

[Jichang Residence]

The guards have been knocked out

The door is locked too

This is ridiculous

If anything happens to Duke Su,

all of you will have to die with him

Duke Su

Duke Su

Duke Su

Duke Su, are you all right?

Why are you here?

Why are you holding a pair of embroidered shoes?

I just made these

I wanted to show them to you

Aren't they pretty?

It's you?

Yes, it's me

What's the matter?

Duke Su

Duke Su

Duke Su, what are you looking for?

Duke Su

So it was sleeping smoke

Sleeping smoke?

After I entered the room,

someone filled it with sleeping smoke

to entrap me with a girl

But this girl...

What?

I'll get back at them

-Inspect every single guard in... -Princess

Leave first

I will look into it myself

All right then

In that case...

Duke Su,

take care

Your Highness

Burn them

Yes

But these shoes are...

That girl must have left them behind

Somehow she managed to escape

Duke Su doesn't seem to know what exactly happened

Burn them quick

Don't speak of this ever again

Yes, I got it

As expected,

they were cautious enough

But there are still traces of the study being ransacked

We've long prepared the ledger just for them

They couldn't find anything in Yu Hua Summer House and Hong Fu Temple

nor could they find any fault with the ledger

I guess Duke Su is going back empty-handed

However,

until they leave,

we mustn't let our guard down

As for the real ledger,

are you sure it's hidden properly?

My lord, don't worry

They'd never guess it even if they racked their brains

The real ledger is hidden in the basement

My lord, calm down

To make it absolutely foolproof,

there's even a secret to the ledger itself

Once Duke Su leaves this place,

we will be able to rest easy

Good

Who are you?

What's in your hand?

After her

Block all the exits

Don't let anyone escape

Xu Mao

Aren't you supposed to be

far away at the imperial mausoleum?

Xu Jin,

as a prince,

you have a royal duty

Instead, you disregard the well-being of the people,

indulging in lust

during the fasting period

You've totally

ignored what Father said

I'm afraid you've offended the gods

Now,

I have no choice

but to take you back to the capital

and tell Father

everything that I saw today

Stop hiding it already

Let me take a look

Search

Search quickly

There must be someone else in this room

That's right. Search

Search properly for Duke Cheng

Duke Su

What are you standing here for?

Start searching already

Duke Cheng travelled all the way

to Jichang City with you lackeys

Isn't it because he's determined

to set Duke Su up?

To frame your brother,

you disregarded the Emperor's order

and left the imperial mausoleum without permission

I'm going to tell the Emperor

everything that I saw today

You...

Xu Mao,

go ahead and search

If you manage to find anything,

I will make amends to Father

But if you can't find anything,

the fact that you left the imperial mausoleum without permission

and slandered your brother...

I'm afraid I have to tell Father all about it

Your Highness

I invited someone for tea and a chat

I almost forgot

Xu Jin,

I shall take my leave

Yes, tea...

And a chat...

Are you all right?

[Change Begins at the Root]

Where's the tea party at?

What tea party?

Return to the capital now

Shameless

He's absolutely shameless

Duke Cheng is so far away,

yet he still tried to frame you

with such a dirty trick

But the strange thing is

when Shang Kai Yang met Duke Cheng,

he was more surprised than us

The person who conspired with Duke Cheng

probably wasn't Shang Kai Yang

My thinking exactly

If Shang Kai Yang had conspired with Duke Cheng,

his plan might have just worked

Regarding Duke Cheng,

we'll deal with it slowly after we return to the capital

The most crucial thing now

is to solve the landslide issue

We found their secret ledger

But

we didn't find anything wrong with it

It's your fault

If you hadn't let her go...

I was powerless against her

Your Highness,

if you want to punish me,

just do it

Your Highness

I've checked the ledger carefully

The account is perfectly fine

The only thing suspicious about it

[Ledger]

is that the carpenters who built Yu Hua Summer House

were replaced over and over again

The reason given was fair

Supposedly, due to the heavy workload and tight deadline,

if the carpenters weren't changed from time to time,

they would've died from overwork

The cost they spent on this

seems to be in order

The issue with this ledger

isn't the figures

It's the words

Candied hawthorn

We're finally home

Go in and take a hot bath

Drink some ginger tea

Don't catch a cold

You too

I wonder if Ms Rong has returned

[Fu Residence]

The house seems quiet

I'm sure she hasn't returned yet

Don't worry. I'll send someone to find her

Thank you, Little Marquis

If you really want to thank me,

book-keep for me at Feng Lai Yi

Sure

Are you sure?

Didn't you say

you'd rather work at Ruyi Pavilion?

Don't worry

I won't put you in a tough spot

You don't have to thank me

Just keep the secret for me

Don't tell anyone else

about what I told you last night

Don't worry

I won't tell a single soul

Pinky swear

Little Marquis,

this is so...

What's the matter?

Am I being too childish again?

Go in

Ms Fu

What is it?

Nothing

I just wanted to say your name

All right

You should get going
