- [Narrator] One summer morning in the meadow,

Big Nutbrown Hare was snoozing peacefully,

as Little Nutbrown Hare was admiring

the beautiful view that stretched out before him.

- [Narrator] But soon he was distracted

by the buzz, buzz, buzzingaround Big Nutbrown Hare's nose.

- Shoo, fly, shoo!

[Big Nutbrown Hare splutters]

[Little Nutbrown Hare giggles]

- [splutters] What is it?

Who?

Oh, it's you, Little Nutbrown Hare.

[kissing] What were you up to?

- [laughing] Just shooing the flies away.

- Hello!

- [Both] Hello!

- What a lovely summer morning!

- Yes, it is.

You seem very happy today, Blue Bird.

- I am.

I just flew over a beautiful view by the stream.

- Oh.

- It's full of wild flowers growing in the grass.

- I love flowers!

- From up in the sky, it looks just like a sea

of purple and pink.

- [Both] Hmm.

- You should go and have a look!

- I wish I could fly up high

and see a flowery field from the sky.

- We might not be able to fly,

but we can still visit the flowery field!

And we can get some breakfast on the way there.

- Okay.

[upbeat music]

[Big Nutbrown Hare humming]

Nothing to eat down here.

- Hmm, nothing to eat up here either.

- Hmm.

Oh, wait, here are some blueberries.

- Ooh-hoo, well spotted.

- Would you like some?

- You have them, Little Nutbrown Hare.

- Thanks.

[licks lips] Mm, tasty.

- Woo-hoo!

- [gasps] Who's there?

Hmm.

Is that you, Little Grey Squirrel?

- [giggles] Surprise!

- Oh! [giggles]

I thought it was you!

- [giggles] Come up here, Little Nutbrown Hare.

I want to show you something.

- It's a bit high.

- Let me help you up.

[grunting] [giggling]

[shimmering bells]

- Wow!

The meadow looks so different from up here.

- And look, there are cherries up here too.

- Oh!

[Little Grey Squirrel grunting]

- Oh, look.

A flowery field.

Ah, it's amazing what you can see from up here.

- I guess it is.

I'm used to it because I'm up high in the tree every day.

- Hello up there!

How about dropping some of those cherries down to me?

- Good idea.

[grunting] Here.

- Oh!

Ha ha, got it!

[giggling]

- Catch!

- Catch! - Here!

- Hold on, wait a minute.

Oh, yeah, got it.

Hold on, slow, slow down.

Wait a minute, oh-ho-ho, got it!

- Good catch, Big Nutbrown Hare!

[giggling]

- [laughs] There, for later.

Come on.

Don't forget we've got a flowery field to visit.

[Little Nutbrown Hare grunting]

- Why don't I come too?

- Yes!

- Woo-hoo!

- ♪ Flowery field, flowery field, colors in the sun ♪

- Hello, Otter!

- [giggles] Hello.

Where are you off to?

- Whoa! - Whee!

- Yippee!

- We're going to visit a flowery field.

- Oh.

Well, I was just about to go for a slide

[giggles] into the cool water.

- That sounds like fun! [giggles]

- Yes, great fun.

Can I try?

- Go ahead!

It'll cool you down.

- Yay!

[Otter grunts]

- Ready, set, and slide!

- Whee!

[laughing]

- [Both] Hooray!

- [laughs] Let's slide again! [laughs]

Come on! [laughs]

I'll beat you to the top! [laughs]

- Not if I get there first!

- [giggles] Oh.

Wow!

Hello, little bugs.

You're walking on the water!

- What can you see, Little Nutbrown Hare?

- I'm looking into the water.

It's amazing.

Come and have a look.

- [chuckles] Okay.

- [Little Nutbrown Hare] There are so

many creatures in there.

- Ooh, yes, amazing!

It's a very different meadow under the water.

- Otter's special underwater meadow!

- Thank you for showing me.

So, shall we keep going to the flowery field now?

- Yes!

[giggling]

- Coming, Little Grey Squirrel?

- I think I'll stay here and keep cool.

- [Little Grey Squirrel And Otter] Whee!

[laughing]

- Thanks for cooling us down, you two! [chuckles]

- [giggles] Yes, thanks!

♪ Flowers in the sun

- Huh? [giggles]

♪ Flowery field, flowery field, are you ready because ♪

That's strange.

- What's strange?

- I don't think this buttercup was here yesterday. [giggles]

- Hmm, maybe it's lost.

- [giggles] Maybe.

I wonder what it smells like? [sniffs]

- Boo! [giggles]

- Hello, Little Field Mouse!

- [chuckles] Little Field Mouse Flower.

- Oh, look at that.

- Oh.

- Hello, Little Brown Beetle!

- [Little Field Mouse] Wow!

- And hello, Little Black Centipede!

- Look!

There's ants too, see?

Ah.

- Oh, we have a whole new view of the meadow down here,

close to the ground.

A very special one.

- You're right!

I'm always close to the ground.

I'd forgotten it's so special! [giggles]

- Would you like to come with us to a special flowery field?

- Oh, yes!

I'll feel right at home there!

- Ooh, Blue Bird was right.

So many flowers!

A sea of purple and pink!

[Little Nutbrown Hare grunting]

- Look down here!

- Oh?

Why?

- It's all orange and yellow! [giggles]

- Wow!

I couldn't see these from above.

- Orange and yellow?

Look down here!

- Oh, it's beautiful!

- Oh, different again.

All blue and white!

- Come up here, Little Field Mouse!

- Wow!

It is orange and yellow.

Just like my buttercup!

- This was just above your head!

- And just below my knees!

- But right in front of my eyes.

- Now, [grunts] here's what was in front of my eyes!

- [Little Nutbrown Hare and Little Field Mouse] Purple

and pink! [giggling]

- [Narrator] Later that evening,

seeing Blue Bird flying high up in the sky

gave Little Nutbrown Hare a very good idea.

- Can you count how many different views

of the meadow we saw today?

- Hm, well.

Oh, there was Little Field Mouse's view from down low.

That's one.

- And Little Grey Squirrel's view

from up high in the tree.

That's two.

- And don't forget Otter's special underwater view.

That's three!

[soft music] [crickets chirping]

- What about all the different views of the flowery field?

- [grunts] Pink and purple, orange and yellow,

oh, white and, er, now, what was that other color?

- Blue!

- Ah, blue!

Of course.

- [grunting] Yum!

- Which view did you like the best?

- I loved them all!

[Big Nutbrown Hare chuckles]

- Can you guess how much I love you?

- How much?

- I love you more than all the beautiful views Blue Bird

can see from way up there in the sky.

- Well, that must be a lot!

- [Both] Ah.

- And more than all the stars we can see up there

in the sky from right down here under our tree.

- It's our special view.

- [Little Nutbrown Hare] How lovely.
