- [Instructor] Just because the architect

had levels that you were able to use as a guide,

that doesn't mean the architect

isn't going to run into some reason to change the elevation

of those levels.

That's okay, we're covered.

With the copy monitor function,

we can literally keep track of the architect's indecision

by keeping a live monitor on their levels.

When the architect moves one,

we will get what's called a coordination alert

allowing us to move our level,

ignore, or postpone the move.

So, let's jump into Revit.

I'm going to open my structural two model.

Notice that Revit keeps a display

of the recent models that we have open.

Or, again, we can browse to it

by going to where you're keeping your exercise files.

Now open structural two.

If we zoom in over here, we'll see that we have

an architectural level, and we have our levels.

We can monitor these.

So, let's go to the collaborate tab,

and let's make sure that we are in our South elevation.

Remember, in the Project browser,

we can scroll down to elevations,

and double click on South,

if you're not there already.

On the Collaborate tab, notice there's a copy monitor icon.

Click it.

And let's use select link.

If you zoom out a little bit,

you can hover over wherever your architectural model is,

and notice that it will light up.

So, you can hover over any object,

and pick it.

Now, we have a bunch of choices.

We have all of the levels in that we need

so we don't need to copy any.

But, let's go to monitor.

Click monitor.

Now, we just come through,

and we select the levels that we want to monitor.

If we hover over here, Revit will,

by default, select yours first,

and then the architect's second.

So, if I go to top of footing,

I'm going to click it again,

and it goes to top of footing.

Now, we get this little heart beat monitor

type icon here, which indicates that we have

successfully monitored that level.

Click here and then here.

Now, click Level 2 and then Level 2.

Level 3, Level 3.

Four and four,

five and five,

Roof and Roof.

And let's not forget our top of footing.

So, top of footing to top of footing.

If we select one that we've already done,

Revit will give us a warning saying,

"Elements are already monitored."

I guess, we really wanted to monitor that one.

So, close out of here,

hit escape a couple times.

Now, make sure you click on the green finish

edit mode button.

Click finish edit mode.

Save your model.

And we're good to go.

So, that's how you copy monitor levels.
