A Girl Like Me

Episode 37

Yongzhou Listen! You rebels of Yongzhou!

At the behest of His Majesty,

hand over Jiang Zhang and Shi Suyue immediately

if you want to stay alive.

Attention, soldiers.

Go attack the gate and break into the city!

Brother, don’t blame on me.

It was Count Cheng’an

who cut your way off.

Yongzhou

What’s going on?

We are trapped, Your Majesty!

This is an empty city.

Tell people in the Yujing State that

we’re going back and ask them to take Count Cheng’an now!

Yes, sir.

Report.

Apparently,

it’s not good news.

What’s going on in Yongzhou?

His Majesty fell for it.

Yongzhou is an empty city now.

Where’s His Majesty?

His Majesty is heading back to Yujing State with the forces.

The forces have gone to Yongzhou with Jiang Luo.

Yujing State is an empty state now.

Mr. Xie,

it’s unnecessary for you to resist anymore.

Xie Chongjin, Jiang Luo is a tyrant.

He definitely would impute this failure to you.

Why not take the chance to make amends for your past

and join us to help Crown Prince back to the court?

You want me to give up everything

for such a little mistake?

You underestimated me.

Soldiers!

Get rid of these rebels!

Let’s trust Count Cheng’an.

Jiang Luo can never find us here.

There’re prisoners

and the unexpected here.

I’m concerned if someone would leak out our whereabouts.

Suyue, you worried too much.

Your Highness, I don’t want to worried that much,

but as you can see,

Xie Wanyu is here as well.

To be honest,

I really don’t know

how to address you two now.

Regardless of the royal identities,

may I contemporarily call you two brother and sister-in-law?

Brother and sister-in-law,

whoever dominates the Moon Palace,

I won’t get back in there.

I love Ban Heng.

I want to marry him.

That’s supposed to be way more fun than being a Empress.

Miss. Xie, I can promise you that

Ban Heng will make your wish come true.

Let go of the Prime Minister

and Noble Consort immediately.

You guys, go protect Mr. Xie.

Yes, sir.

I’m sorry about that.

That’s just for protecting

the two of you.

Please get into the carriage.

Come on, Feixian. Get in there.

Grandfather!

Go!

Grandfather. Grandfather.

Help! Help!

Grandfather.

Grandfather. Hang in there.

I’m taking you back to the palace.

Why did you do that?

Grandfather.

Feixian.

It’s all my fault

to get you exiled.

Can you forgive me now?

I...

Feixian, you’re the pride of our family.

The Shi

must be

the top one among the Daye aristocratic families.

You must be the Empress of Daye.

OK. I promise.

I will.

Make our family

the top one among the Daye aristocratic families.

Grandfather.

Grandfather.

Grandfather.

Please don’t go.

I haven’t forgiven you yet.

Don’t leave me alone.

Grandfather.

Shi Jin.

Should you betray your little sister

for a woman who doesn’t love you?

If I force Princess Ban to marry me in such a shameless way,

that will be a betrayal of my conscience.

You’d rather be a traitor and cuckold

than a general.

It’s incredible that the crafty Shis

have a nerdy son.

Can’t believe the heroic Xies

have a jerky son.

Where the hell are you going?

Xie Chongjin, why did you stop?

Princess Ban,

if I get back alone,

I guess I gotta be killed.

Well, why not let me

end your life?

But I don’t want to die right now.

That’s not up to you.

Xie Chongjin, shame on you.

I told you.

“I don’t want to die right now.”

Only if I caught you,

I can live.

Get her.

Take her away.

Alert!

Stop!

Your Majesty.

Why do you come alone?

What happened in Yujing State?

We were trapped.

My grandfather was set up

and passed away.

Where’s Xie Chongjin?

Mr. Xie is still in there.

Your Majesty,

Yujing State has been surrounded

by Akeqi, the prince of Aipo State.

God damn Count Cheng’an.

Your Majesty,

shall we attack the Yujing State or not?

Go back to the capital now!

What about Prime Minister Xie?

Mr. Xie is quite wise.

I’m sure he can get back safe and sound.

Soldiers, let’s get back to the capital.

Stop.

Hua.

Xie Chongjin, you bastard.

Count Cheng’an,

should you dare run after me,

both me and Ban won’t be alive.

You may leave us.

Jiang Luo will be eliminated sooner or later.

Why can’t you figure it out?

We fought at outrance

for different lords.

If Jiang Luo would hand over the country

and allow me to rule it,

Daye would never be plunged into

the abyss of misery

and suffering.

If you really care about the people,

you wouldn’t have poisoned their food.

We intended to poison the rebels,

instead of the people.

But they are victims of the famine.

They got no choice

but to

fight against the court.

You were too crazy and cruel.

You will end up died.

I’ve got my way to stay alive.

Don’t you worry about me.

You should worry about for yourself.

What do you mean?

You got some moves.

I gotta figure out a way.

The dart was poisoned.

Apparently, I can’t leave here alive.

Actually, we may work together

if you like.

I’d rather die

than working with you.

Jiang Luo may take me for the hostage.

I can go with them in exchange for Princess Ban.

You? Will they accept?

If I were Jiang Luo,

I definitely won’t want you but Crown Prince.

Prince Akeqi was right.

They want Crown Prince.

Not you, General Shi.

What do you think, Your Highness?

I got no clue when it comes to military affairs.

Shall we wait a minute

and ask Military Advisor’s advice

when he comes later?

Your Highness, with all due respect,

as General Shi is here,

you may learn something from him as well.

After all,

Rong Xia can’t be with you all the time,

right?

Military Advisor is coming!

Your Highness.

Advisor, speaking of which,

we’re waiting for you.

We were discussing

how to save Princess Ban.

Unfortunately, we haven’t found a good way.

So far,

we only have one option.

What is it?

Go attack the capital.

Is it too risky?

After all, they have Hua in their hands.

Hua is the last chip of Jiang Luo.

That means,

Hua is his last chance to live.

So, he won’t sacrifice Hua easily.

You’re right,

but if by any chance...

Your Highness,

I’m sorry that I couldn’t think of a better way.

May I ask an order to suppress the rebels

and save Princess Ban?

What...

What should I do?

Your Highness, Advisor.

Somebody out there reported that

Shi Chonghai is died.

It was you who killed my grandfather.

How come you say so?

Your grandfather got killed

by the rebels led by Rong Xia and Ban Hua.

The battle was in chaos

as you saw.

Save it.

Other than my grandfather,

you intended to kill me as well.

If he didn’t bear the stabbing for me,

I can’t even get back to the Moon Palace.

You’re probably too sad

to make up

persecution stories.

Please have a good rest and take care.

Don’t you fear if I tell His Majesty the truth?

Good. If you insist to do so,

then I have to

report to His Majesty that

Shi Jin co-worked with the rebels

and ask His Majesty to punish him severely.

What do you think? Your Highness.

Fair enough.

Do you still remember what you said?

Work together

or die together.

Today, I got the same words for you.

Either way you choose in future,

I’ll be right there playing with you.

Tell me

why you’d lose as soon as you met Rong Xia.

Didn’t you swear to me

your plan was flawless?

What happened then? Prime Minister Shi deceased.

Shi Jin was caught by the rebels.

Your Majesty.

A perfect plan was destined to fail

when someone has it leaked out.

What do you mean?

Are you saying there’s a spy in my palace?

I’m not sure.

As Rong Xia

won over us effortlessly,

I believe that

someone has pre-told Rong Xia about our plan.

Nice try.

Xie Chongjin.

Answer me.

Why would I need

an incapable Prime Minister?

Please calm down, Your Majesty.

Feixian, what brings you here?

Your Majesty.

In my opinion,

it’s not Mr. Xie’s fault.

What do you mean by that?

I was there at that time.

I never expected that

Ban Hua would set my brother up on the wedding.

Ban Hua and Rong Xia took my brother as a hostage,

which made Mr. Xie hard to proceed

but to draw back.

That’s why Rong Xia won.

Feixian. Nevertheless,

we didn’t catch Jiang Zhang.

That will bring endless troubles.

You don’t have to be pessimistic, Your Majesty.

Mr. Xie risked his life to take Ban Hua back.

As long as we have her,

Rong Xia won’t do any harm to us.

How about

we give Mr. Xie a chance to make amends for it

and ask him to offer a plan

to defeat the rebels?

Xie Chongjin,

now that Feixian pleaded for you,

I can forgive you this time.

But you gotta tell me

how to destroy all the rebels

to make up for your mistakes.

You have my word, Your Majesty.

I have a plan satisfying both claims.

We can remove Ban Hua, Rong Xia and Crown Prince

once for all.

What’s going on?

Ban Heng,

has Count Rong figured out how to save Princess Ban?

Not yet.

We can only attack the Moon Palace.

I’m still the Empress now.

Let me go back and figure a way out.

Forget it.

You’ve got a turtle on your head.

Father told me

you don’t want to be the Empress

but to be with me.

I’ve kept that in mind.

You must keep your words.

You ask me to keep my words. You mean...

Yes. From now on,

before you do anything, you gotta think of me,

not only yourself, OK?

Anything?

No.

I can’t be distracted when I cook.

No. You must think of me when you cook

because you only cook for me.

Given that, you’d put much more efforts to do it.

It makes sense.

So, you can’t go to the Moon Palace.

On the contrary, you should stay here

and keep accompany with me and my parents.

OK.

Speaking of which,

I suddenly

want to eat your... Your chicken dishes.

What on earth do you want? Chicken?

Or…

I want you

and everything about you.

You did me such a big favor,

I definitely will figure out a way to get back and save Ban Hua.

How come our family

would come to such a miserable end?

Grandfather died.

Our little sister

betrayed us.

The stupid life

we spent here sucks.

I don’t think life here

is stupid.

At least, we’re free

and steady.

Free and steady?

For me, it’s boring.

Suyue,

such days won’t be long.

I believe we can get back and break into the capital soon.

If what you said is true,

what will you do to Feixian?

Feixian is our little sister.

If it wasn’t our grandfather who sacrificed her

to be exiled to Xizhou,

she wouldn’t have been like this.

But she’s no longer

our innocent little sister.

Do you want to kill her?

I wish we could get back

to the old times.

Brother,

you’ve never intended to let go of Ban Hua, right?

Instead, you want to kill Crown Prince

and Rong Xia, do you?

This is our only way out.

Brother, do you really think

if you killed the Crown Prince, Ban Hua and Rong Xia,

our family

could get away from it?

They’re the major concerns of His Majesty.

We’d take the credit for removing them.

When they are eliminated,

you and I would become the next.

Watch your mouth, Your Highness.

Our parents are waiting for you at home.

May I ask Your Highness to visit them?

Let me meet Ban Hua first.

Ban Hua. Ban Hua.

What happened to you?

How come you spitted such dark red blood?

Ban Hua, I just met my big brother.

It’s...

Your Majesty.

Feixian.

This is the Empress’s Uniform

I asked them to stitch for you.

Do you really want me to put on this?

As soon as Rong Xia surrender,

I’ll divorce with Xie Wanyu immediately

and make you the Empress.

Your Majesty,

then how to do with Xie Chongjin?

How to do with him?

It’s all up to you.

Obviously, the poison has been further developed.

God knows

how Rong Xia got prepared.

No.

I can’t just die here.

How’s the situation?

Your Majesty,

Mr. Wang suffered great losses on soldiers and horses.

I’m afraid the North Gate would be lost.

Where’re the Northeast Stationary?

Your Majesty,

they didn’t take the imperial edict.

What did you just say?

How dare they disobeyed my edict?

General Song from the stationary said

the Late Emperor had issued a secret imperial edict ordering

the stationary never interferes into the competition of the throne.

What about the other stationary?

Your Majesty,

I’ve heard from my grandfather that

the other stationary

all followed General Song’s lead.

If General Song disobey your order,

they would as well.

A bunch of idiots.

How’re things going with Xie Chongjin?

It’s difficult to tell.

Report.

Your Majesty.

Rong Xia has joined forces with Akeqi out there.

and they are heading for the palace now.

What? Even Xie Chongjin was defeated?

Don’t forget, Your Majesty.

We still got an Ace left by Xie Chongjin.

Right.

Tell Rong Xia

to hand over Jiang Zhang by tomorrow noon

and surrender with the rebels,

or I’ll kill Ban Hua.

I’ll get right on it.

Bearer.

Call Xie Chongjin to meet me now!

Yes, sir.

What brings the Noble Consort

to such a dirty place?

Time could bring great changes to the world.

Look back into the past,

I was also trapped in the prison of Court of Judicial Review,

struggling and suffering.

But I’ve never expected

you will be the prisoner today.

Come to the point.

I’m sleepy and need rest.

Ban Hua. Look, how adorable you are!

Bad-tempered as always, even during your last hours!

It seems that

you came to find yourself

the sense of superiority today.

The Empress’s crown is now

within my reach now.

Why would I need to find myself superiority here?

You get the Empress’s crown,

but millions of your people are still starving.

May I ask how can you live up to the crown?

Ban Hua, you were born in an aristocratic family

which endowed you good conditions and people’s concerns.

How would you know my sufferings?

You were born in the Shi.

Your grandfather is the Prime Minister.

Your brother is the top one General of Daye.

Your sister is Crown Princess.

Shi Feixian,

with such a family background,

you’re in no position to say so.

You know nothing about me.

Because I have a brilliant sister,

I gotta pay much more efforts

than the other girls to

draw my grandfather’s attention.

I’m excellent in lyre-playing, chess, calligraphy, painting

and verses, ditties, odes and songs.

But I still can’t figure it out

why Count Cheng’an would fell in love with you

who knows nothing.

How come you think in this way?

It’s not important what the other people think about you.

The most important thing is to follow your heart and be forthright.

You’re right.

People should follow their hearts and be forthright.

That’s why I come here.

I come to tell you forthrightly.

Tomorrow,

I’ll show Count Cheng’an,

even if he’d like to sacrifice for you,

he can’t

save you.

Are you out of your mind?

No, I’m not.

I just want to get it out of my chest.

It’s weird that

I even feel a bit disappointed

for not seeing you anymore.

I’m a person who draws a clear demarcation

between what to hate or appreciate.

When I was exiled to Xizhou,

it was you who gave me a package.

I remember and appreciate the kindness.

So, tell me.

What is your last wish?

Perhaps I can do you a favor.

I’m going to die.

What wish can I have?

Fine.

It’s your choice.

Wait a minute.

It came to me suddenly, Your Highness.

I may really need your help on this.

What’s that?

You must know,

I loved to dress myself in my whole life time,

Would you please ask someone to pick up a white-fur coat

from the old stuff in Ban’s mansion?

A white-fur coat?

That’s my favorite one.

Before I die,

I want to wear it for the last time.

Even right before your death,

you’re still good for nothing.

It’s not a big deal to give you that.

Thank you, Your Highness.

It’s nearly noon.

May I ask Your Grace to come with me?

The Noble Consort has told me

to allow you to wear the white-fur coat before we go.

Please.

Mr. Xie,

would you seriously consider my suggestion?

May I invite Your Grace to get to the city gate tower?

East Gate

East Gate

Ban

Jiang Luo use Princess Ban

to threaten Rong Xia.

He forged an imperial edict of the Late Emperor,

and attempted to usurp state power.

How dare you rebels! Are you accusing His Majesty?

Such an idiot who knows nothing but enjoying himself in the palace

regardless of the people’s suffering

is incompatible with the address.

How dare you!

Soldiers! Listen to me!

Get rid of all these rebels!

East Gate

Stop.

Crown Prince?

Jiang Zhang, the Crown Prince of Daye, is back to the capital.

Open the door immediately

and uphold the Crown Prince of Daye!

It appears that Count Cheng’an

doesn’t care about you that much.

Hua.

You dirty jerk.

The end justifies the means.

You can’t judge the means with “dirty” or “clean”.

Count Cheng’an, which one do you choose, fate

or Princess Ban?

Do you remember

you’ve given me a white-fur coat?

Of course.

I dreamed that, I wore the white-fur coat,

standing on top of the city gate tower

where I was shot to death.

Hua.

Dreams may not come true.

You don’t have to put that in mind.

What if it comes true?

Are you gonna be alone for the whole life?

Hua. Don’t worry.

I’ll protect you.

I’ll never allow such things to happen.

Never.

Lu Yiyang is a crossbow-master.

Don’t bother to do anything stupid, Count Cheng’an.

You can save her

only if the two of you surrender.

I’ll let go of the Princess Ban.

Count Cheng’an.

Don’t listen to his bullshit.

As soon as you surrender, all of us will die.

Hua.

I count to three.

If you don’t quit the crossbow and give in,

today will be the last time for you

to meet Princess Ban.

One.

Count Cheng’an.

Two.

Brother-in-law.

But Daye needs your help

to uphold Crown Prince.

Relief of the people

counts on you and Crown Prince.

Last time, to save me,

you had to handed over the country to Jiang Luo.

Please put the general interest prior to everything this time.

and don’t make another mistake for me.

Three.

That’s right.

Count Cheng’an, don’t give in.

No.
