Welcome again, on this lesson we'll set up Windows to accept Inetsim

We are setting up inetsim to redirect the post requests our malware samples does. We already install inetsim in kali linux,

now we need to make some adjustments in Windows virtual machine, lets open network and internet settings

change adapter options

ethernet properties

and pick tcp ipv4

lets set the ip address up

I recommend you to choose consecutive numbers for ip's, we had 10.0.5.4 in our kali linux, then this could be 10.0.5.5

subnet mask same as kali linux

default gateway, is our kali linux ip

and preferred dns server, kali linux ip, remember we are redirecting the traffic to inetsim

ok this is done

Finally we need to set up the network in virtual box

right click on kali, configuration, network

and here, connect to Host only adapter

same thing for windows

no Nat, host only adapter

and it's done, now lets test it.

ok, here we are in our windows virtual machine, lets open firefox and try to conect to the internet,

as you see, our petition has been redirected to inetsim.

Inetsim is going to simulate responses as a command and control center would do,

this way we can analyze full malware functionalities. By the way make sure inetsim simulation is running on kali linux.

If you wanna have internet here again, you should undo what we did in tcp ipv4
