[Season 2: Episode 9] (Episode 49)

[Previously]

Turns out there isn't just one person in Monster Domain who wants to avoid a marriage.

I'm talking about you.

Lin Dong!

Xiao Diao, your Marten Tribe is quite special!

Yi-Demons are at this banquet.

They're in the midst of these people.

Life-Death Talisman?

Niwan Palace (head). Natal Spiritual Charm.

Are you... really the Old Marten King?

Successor of Fu Zu, please accept my bow.

Quickly rise.

- Tiger, let us separate and search.- All right.

I am Lin Dong.

Xiao Diao is my friend, but I'm really not the successor of Fu Zu.

Xiao Diao didn't want to get married,

so he asked me to pretend to be the successor of Fu Zu and put on an act with him.

That rascal is back?

That rascal... he just had to come back and bring trouble.

Xiao Diao is now my sworn brother. We have journeyed together to eliminate the Yi-Demons.

It's all been thanks to his great help.

Never thought that rascal, despite wandering all over the world,

would also have the chance to serve the successor of Fu Zu.

Me?

I... already explained it earlier.

I really...

I really am not the successor of Fu Zu.

The world may not know Fu Zu that well,

but my Marten Tribe has served him for generations.

I am never wrong.

The Ancestral Stone is a token that Fu Zu always carried with him.

And the spiritual charm in your head

is the Natal Spiritual Charm of Master Fu Zu.

The Ancestral Stone may end up in another person's hand,

but the Natal Spiritual Charm recognizes only its master.

If you were not the person that Fu Zu had chosen,

you would not be able to control the Natal Spiritual Charm so well

to clean up this poison of the Yi-Demon.

But I still have one question,

how did you get locked up in here?

A few days ago, there was a Yuan Gate Disciple who visited me through his Dimension Talisman.

He wanted to discuss with me how to completely eliminate the Yi-Demon Emperor.

Lin Langtian.

That person was once my brother,

but he went down the wrong path and became an ally of the Yi-Demons.

His attitude was ambiguous and his explanation was strange.

I initially didn't want to have any further discussion with him.

But after Hao Jiuyou interacted with him,

his personality drastically changed.

He then plotted against me.

He caught me off guard and locked me inside this Sky Cave.

He forced me to hand him the secret key to the seal.

Is this secret key related to the Yi-Demon Emperor

and that's why, it is exerting this much effort?

The secret key is the critical item for removing the seal on the Yi-Demon Emperor.

This secret key has been hidden in the Sky Marten Tribe all this time?

When the Eight Ancient Masters defeated the Yi-Demon Emperor in the past,

they were unable to completely eliminate it.

The Marten and Fox Tribes were mythical beasts serving Fu Zu to begin with.

Fu Zu then sealed the body of the Yi-Demon Emperor inside my tribe's Sky Cave.

He divided the secret key to the seal in half

and gave them to the Sky Marten Tribe and the Nine-Tail Fox Tribe, to be passed down for generations.

Then, it means our Fox Tribe has the other half.

How come I never heard Auntie Xin mention it?

The location of the sealed body of the Yi-Demon Emperor is very important.

The tribe leaders were ordered to never tell anyone except their successor.

I initially planned that when Xiao Diao returned,

I would tell it to him after his wedding.

This is also the origin of the marriage custom between the two tribes.

No wonder Hao Jiuyou kept forcing Xiao Diao to get married.

It was because of the secret key.

No, Sister...

What's wrong with the Princess Royal?!

She went to follow you.

No, she went to follow that fake you.

Tribe Leader, we should clean up the mess now.

Are you real or not?

Stop!

Tribe Leader, are you all right?

Young Master,

you dare conspire with outsiders and hurt our Tribe Leader?

As an elder of the tribe, I will teach a disobedient child like you a lesson

on behalf of the Marten King today.

Hao Jiuyou...

- Why? - Why?

Let me tell you why.

Not only am I loyal to your father, I am filial to him, too.

How long have you been enjoying yourself outside?

That is also how long I was your replacement here in the Marten Tribe.

Now that you have enjoyed enough,

you just want to strut back in here and inherit the Tribe Leader position?

How can there be such an easy task in this world?

If what you wanted was just the Marten King position,

why didn't you say so earlier?

You are not my father! My father would never watch as others bully me!

Open your dog eyes and look who the real Old Marten King is!

Father!

You rascal... You almost acknowledged that Yi-Demon as your father.

Hao Jiuyou, I never thought that you'd become a traitor of our tribe!

I am not a traitor!

I was thinking for the sake of the Marten Tribe.

I'm the most suitable choice for the Marten King position!

I had you plant so many Illusionary Demon Flowers in the Marten Tribe.

I think that by now, the seeds inside your body should be budding.

Be careful of the Illusionary Demon Flowers. Everyone, cover your nose. Do not inhale their scent.

Stop your breath and concentrate. Don't let it control you.

Quickly cover your nose. Don't inhale the scent.

Everybody, stop breathing and concentrate. Don't let the Illusionary Demon Flower control you.

Lin Langtian...

This is getting more and more fun.

Where did that Lin Langtian go to hide?

I thought that you were a coward.

Never expected that you'd come here to die.

Lin Langtian, since you swallowed the Yi-Demon,

you kept avoiding your responsibilities and your identity.

Kept running away from everyone around you.

Heart.

Can you escape from your heart?

If you are able to escape from everything, you still won't go looking for Qingtan—

Why must you still mention the past?

Qingtan still believes in you.

She is willing to wait for your return.

I beg you one thing. Let me take Qingtan away.

I want her to be with me.

You still are so naive.

Lin Langtian! Stop being so arrogant!

You can't escape today!

Escape?

Why would I escape?

Stop talking about saving the world.

Just how many of the monsters

in those two tribes can you save?

If you don't want them to die from the poison of the Illusionary Demon Flowers,

then use the half of the secret key from the Marten Tribe in exchange for the antidote.

Secret key?

What secret key? How come I don't know about it?

Aren't you the Young Master of Marten Tribe? Your father didn't tell you?

The situation has become complicated.

Lin Dong!

Father.

Tribe Leader, Little Fox, how are your tribesmen?

Sister used her singing voice to calm their minds.

We've temporarily placated those who got poisoned.

However, without the antidote, I fear that it will be hard for them to regain consciousness.

Tribe Leader,

sorry.

He wants the secret key in exchange for the antidote.

Tribe Leader.

One half of the secret key has already been taken by Lin Langtian.

If he gets the other half...

Aiya, this concerns lives. We'll just borrow the secret key for a while.

- Once we're done saving them, we'll just steal it back.- You say it so casually.

Do you know how huge the danger is that you are risking everything for?!

Father...

Tribe Leader, now that things have come to this, we can only employ a risky move.

Whatever you give out, I will take it back.

Right now, the lives of the tribe's people are most important.

Not that I don't trust you,

but the secret key of my Marten Tribe is not with me.

The secret key of the Nine-Tail Fox is with their tribe leader,

while the secret key of my tribe is hidden at the end of this Sky Cave,

which is the place where we pray to the sky and our ancestors.

Which means the place where we saved you earlier is still not the end of the Sky Cave?

It's inside that cave.

If you had arrived a bit later,

I fear I would have told it all to Hao Jiuyou.

Very good! I have never even been to such an important place.

That is where our ancestors have been resting.

How could you be allowed to act wildly in there?

Brother Lin Dong, I'm not afraid to embarrass myself in front of you.

This Sky Cave has always been guarded by the strongest man in my tribe.

But I don't know from when it started but this cave seems to have been cursed.

Among my tribesmen who entered, not one was able to come out again.

As days went by, this Sky Cave then strangely became a forbidden place.

My energy right now has still not yet fully recovered.

I also don't have any confidence that I can get out alive.

Father, if your body can't take it, you should leave it to young people like us.

For so many years, where have you been?!

This curse may have hindered the strong members of the Marten Tribe,

but it might not be able to do the same to us.

That's right. Let's go inside together.

At most, I'll just sing once again.

Also, the people who can enter the ancestral offering area must have the blood of our Marten Clan.

If outsiders try to enter, I fear that they won't be able to step inside by even a step.

A measly thing like that is so easy for me.

Father...

- What are you doing? - Just lead the way.

The secret key is at the end of this Sky Cave. I'll accompany you in.

No need. You are already so old.

If you enter, you won't be able to help and I'll even have to take care of you.

Just be at ease and wait for me here.

You must be careful.

Remember, to activate the secret key,

you need the blood of a legitimate descendant of the Tribe Leader.

Fine. I got it, Father.

Don't worry. I have a lot of blood inside of me. I'm going now.

There are Illusionary Demon Flowers everywhere. No wonder my tribesmen died in here.

This must be my ancestor.

He looks a bit like me.

Good thing, Old Thing didn't come in.

You dare touch my tribesmen? You are looking for death.

My ancestors, I'm taking the secret key today.

Hope you will bless me to eliminate the Yi-Demon with one stroke.

Old thing, you have nothing to say now, right?

Old thing! Father!

Father!

Father!

Where did he go?

Lin Langtian, you bastard!

You keep sneaking around. Who do you think you are?

You only know to stab people in the back!

Don't fall into his trap. He's scheming to lure us in.

Once the secret key falls into his hand...

That is my father!

We are brothers. Your father is my father.

Father!

Son! Don't come near!

Everything you're doing is just to release the Yi-Demon Emperor,

but you're totally disregarding the consequences. Is this worth it?!

I am already a Yi-Demon that kills without blinking.

Must I still consider any consequences?

As long as I achieve my goal,

you all will understand that all this is worth it.

For a hesitant person like you, what can you achieve?

Since that half is in your hand, you decide if you'll save him or let him die.

Go back!

If you dare use the secret key to save me,

I will then not acknowledge you as my son!

Father!

I've guarded our tribe's people for a lifetime.

It's still not my son's turn

to save me!

Guarding the secret key is my oath to Fu Zu.

I'd rather die than break my oath!

- Tribe Leader. - Father...

Father!

Lin Langtian!

Our battle has not occurred yet!

Father...

Lin Dong, learn from the Old Marten King

the principle that there must be sacrifices if you want to do great things.

Remember. You will personally have the blood of the Sky Marten Tribe

and the Nine-Tail Fox Tribe on your hands!

Oh, no! He is going to activate the Illusionary Demon Flowers and kill the hostages.

My Devour Talisman can resist the fragrance of the Illusionary Demon Flowers.

Lin Dong!

The Illusionary Demon Flowers are blooming most abundantly here.

Once you activate the Ancestral Talisman, you might experience unusual danger.

Tribe Leader, don't worry.

For the two tribes, I will not hesitate.

My son and I will protect you while you do it!

Quickly go. Leave this place to me.

No. Since Auntie Xin is gone, I'm now the leader of the Fox Tribe.

I can't leave my tribesmen.

The poison of the Illusionary Demon Flowers has been sucked away.

It's Big Brother.

It must be Big Brother who saved them.

Timing and Subtitles brought to you by The On Fire Penguins Team @ Viki

Idiot who has lured the trouble to himself.

Lin Langtian!

Bastard!

Son!

Son, quickly take care of Lin Dong. You have me here.

You two leave first. I can hold him off for a little while more.

- Father. - Son.

Father...!

Lin Langtian, I'll kill you!

Father! Father!

Father! Father!

- Tribe Leader! Tribe Leader! - You must hold on.

You must hold on!

Old Thing, hold on. I'll heal your injury.

Don't bother anymore.

If I can be saved or not...

If you can be saved or not, you should ask me first!

Son, I'm incompetent.

In the past, I could only force you to do something that you didn't want to do.

It caused us two to get separated for centuries.

People from our Sky Marten Tribe have long lives.

I also thought that those centuries wouldn't matter.

I thought that once you meet some setback on your travels, you would come back.

Son, remember this.

The enchantment for sealing the Yi-Demon Emperor is inside the Sky Cave.

Our tribe's people once made an oath

to Fu Zu that we will guard the seal for generations.

Stop entrusting these things to me. Preserve your life and do them yourself!

Son!

Come home.

Return to our tribe.

Lead the tribe's people in guarding the seal.

Old Marten King will be all right.

The only thing we can do now is to pray.

You can do it.

As your father, I know very well how capable you are.

You've leisured around outside for centuries.

It's now my turn to go wander in leisure.

Old Thing...

Father!

Father...

Father...

You should be content having been able to live with your father for centuries.

But for centuries, either I was outside wandering

or arguing with him.

He even kept scolding me as being useless.

What is it? Let me see.

- Let father see it. - Let me see.

It's broken.

Does it hurt?

Don't... Do you feel anything?

It's painful!

Father, you have white hair!

Stinky rascal! You want to get beaten!

Which son is not a useless rascal in front of his father?

No matter how outstanding you feel you are,

he will always look down on you.

If you're unable to learn the Tongbei Punches well,

then don't bother going out and asking for trouble.

He would keep saying, "Stinky rascal, you are so far from it."

I never once thought that you could teach my son to be such a successful man.

Thank you!

Father!

♫ What did this idea bring me? ♫

But suddenly, one day,

he let you bear the whole family and protect your little sister.

I am incapable and couldn't win.

I can only use this method.

Right. Letting you bear the fate of your whole tribe by yourself.

How did you get through it?

That time...

I promise, I am really sincere in coming back.

- Lin Yan. - Yes.

Lin Dong.

- Lin Qingtan. - Yes!

Didn't I have you and Stupid Tiger?

♫ Unable to go against, you believed it. If you don't go insane, you won't live ♫

♫ Is it just another round of torment? ♫

You know that my greatest dream is to have a human form.

Since the thousand year limit of my monster spirit was about to happen,

I peeked at the map, yet you were willing to use your ancestral talisman to save me.

Nonsense! We are brothers.

I am completely subdued by you.

From now on, I will call you Big Brother, too. Just instruct me if you need anything.

To that Old Thing!

Cheers!

♫ Nobody can truly live as unworldly as the clouds and stocks. ♫

♫ At most, we save our alcohol to drink it slowly. ♫

♫ Nobody can truly live as unworldly as the clouds and stocks. ♫

To all Old Things.

♫ drink it slowly. ♫

Sister, do you miss Auntie Xin?

A fallen leaf returns to its roots.

This is the last thing that I can do for her.

I've also made arrangements for the daily affairs of the tribe.

Nothing bad will happen.

Brother Lin Dong has convinced Xiao Diao. He just took over the Marten King position.

That Xiao Diao once drank alcohol every day.

I thought that the Old Marten King would not have a successor.

He is more responsible than I thought.

Sister, where do you plan to go next?

If you still want to look at the world outside, then set out.

Brother Lin Dong said he has a way to get you out of the Monster Domain.

- What about the Nine-Tail Fox Tribe? - I will stay.

Lingshan, are you doing this because you like Lin Dong?

Even that stinky marten has learned to bear his responsibility.

The Nine-Tail Fox Tribe must not be laughed at by others.

Although now, the two tribes don't need to have a marriage alliance,

we still have to fight side-by-side.

Lingshan, you don't need to sacrifice yourself just for me.

I know that you also want to go out and look.

Before, I was so inconsiderate.

I thought that what you liked is what I liked.

But now, I finally understand that what you want is freedom,

while I want to guard a home that you can return to any time.

Although I currently can't compare to you,

I will slowly learn it.

Sister, just be at ease and leave everything to me.

Sister, did I say anything wrong?

Lingshan,

I always thought that you were just a child who liked to play,

but you have grown up.

I, instead, was constantly submerged in my selfish desires.

I forgot about the responsibilities on my shoulders.

You did better than me.

Sister...

Master Yan.

The scenery here in Ninth Heaven Taiqing Palace is indeed better than that in my Qiwu Tower!

Did you come here to look at the scenery?

[Preview]

The security around City Master is very tight.

You want to get near him? That's harder than going up the sky.

Lin Dong already has so much.

Let him taste how it feels to lose something.

The answer is inside.
