[The King's Woman]

[Episode 46]

Li! We're safe.

Let's go.

Senior Han, I can't go with you.

All of this started because of me.

I mustn't leave everything behind and run.

Why not?

If you head back alone after taking Tian Ming out of the palace

Ying Zheng won't let you off!

No! I can't let you go back alone.

Senior Han, I've made up my mind.

Take Tian Ming with you and leave now.

You won't be able to leave if they catch up with us.

Didn't we agree to leave together?

I can never repay your kindness in this lifetime.

Li!

Tian Ming...

Be good.

Leave now, Senior Han.

Mama...

Behave, Tian Ming.

Be good.

Mama...

Tian Ming, you must obey Uncle Han.

Leave now, Tian Ming!

- Mama! - Go now!

Quickly!

I don't want to go!

- Leave now! - Tian Ming!

Mama!

- Mama! - Tian Ming!

Mama...

Mama!

Mama! Mama...

Mama...

- Madam! - Madam!

Madam!

You're all dismissed.

I heard that Tian Ming was abducted outside the palace.

What exactly happened?

Didn't you take Tian Ming with you to go on an outing with Han Shen today?

Did Han Shen take him away?

Why wouldn't you let me send the army after them?

I deliberately let Senior Han take Tian Ming away.

What did you say?

Why would you do that?

Why would you do that?

Tell me honestly.

What exactly are you up to?

You can never bear to have Tian Ming leave your side.

Why would you let Han Shen take him away?

Speak!

The envoy from Yan, who will submit the Instrument of Surrender

along with General Fan's head and the maps...

is my senior, Jing Ke.

He's also Tian Ming's biological father.

Am I right?

Tian Ming is my child.

I can only protect him this way.

Did you think I didn't know?

Jing Ke coming here, and what he plans to do...

What he has planned with Yan Dan...

Do you think I know nothing about it?

Yan Dan betrayed me and fled from Qin State.

Yet I never sent my army to Yan State to harm him!

That's the greatest compassion I can show him.

I'm going to unify the world.

I can't condone his defiance!

I've told you...

I can do anything for you.

In order to protect you and Tian Ming, I can risk it all.

Anyone can mock me...

I don't care!

But you?

You've been married into the palace for 10 years now.

We've been through so much together.

Why don't you trust me?

If you were worried about Tian Ming's safety, you could've told me.

I can send him away from the palace!

Didn't I do that... years ago?

Ying Zheng...

Stop lying to me.

Even if the envoy really came here to surrender

you'd attack Yan State all the same.

You already knew that my senior is coming here.

So you wanted to use this chance to kill him and Tian Ming!

You've been lying to me all this time...

You've deceived me all along!

He's here to kill me!

I'm begging you...

I beg you not to kill Tian Ming.

I beg you not to kill my senior...

I beg you not to attack Yan State.

If you can just promise me that

I'll always stay by your side.

I'll never leave you.

I beg you not to start such a cruel war!

I'm begging you!

Li...

Do you know how much I love you?

I love you so much that...

I'm willing to share my world with you.

But you don't understand that.

Your Grace! Your Grace...

Even now...

you simply don't know what I want.

You're still so protective of Jing Ke.

That remarkable senior of yours...

Who does he think he is?

I'll have him killed in front of everyone...

just to vent my anger.

Your Grace! Your Grace!

Please!

I beg you! Please don't kill them!

If you must, just punish me!

Shut up!

Listen up!

Tian Ming is my child!

He's the crown prince that I'll mentor.

No one has the right to take him away.

Just wait and see.

I'll find him, by any means necessary.

Your Grace! Your Grace!

Ying Zheng!

Whatever means you have to resort to...

However long it may take...

You must capture Han Shen.

Bring Prince Tian Ming back.

Should anyone try to stop you...

Kill them all!

- Yes! - Yes!

[Xianyang City]

I said that I would return.

I'm Qin's Junior Court Officer, Li Si.

Upon the orders of His Grace

I'm here to welcome the envoy of Yan State.

May I ask if you are Jing Ke, Master Jing?

Yes, I am indeed.

Master Jing, I have long heard of your name.

His Grace has given orders.

The envoys of Yan State are to be treated as our respected guests.

You must be travel-worn from the long journey.

The Lieutenant Bureau has arranged its annex in the capital

as accommodation for your stay, so you can rest there.

I'll take you there now.

This way, please.

Thank you, Master Li.

Thank you, Master Li.

Great Qin is located in the western land.

Our style is always rugged and simple.

It's quite different from Yan's delicate and beautiful style.

I hope that Master Jing and Master Qin won't find this annex too shabby.

Master Li, you're too modest.

This annex is very quiet.

Exactly!

Fighters like us are usually quite heavy-handed.

This place is so nice.

Crown Prince of Yan instructed us to deliver the maps of Du and Kang

as well as the head of the traitor, Fan Wu Ji.

He was concerned about the possible dangers of a long journey.

He chose me and Master Qin Wu Yang for the mission

because we have both trained in martial arts.

Should we be attacked, we can fend for ourselves.

So I hope that Master Li won't take this too seriously.

I've more or less heard of Master Jing's and Master Qin's combat skills.

But since you're both here now as envoys of Yan State

I'm afraid that I won't get the chance to see how well you both fight

in the hall or before His Grace.

Of course.

Master Jing, do you have any other requests?

Do feel free to let me know.

This annex seems to be quite close to the palace.

It is.

I wonder... when we'll get to meet His Grace?

It's such a rare opportunity for Master Jing

and Master Qin to visit Xianyang.

Don't you wish to have a look around?

I could assign someone to show you around the city.

Sure!

We're not exactly in a hurry to met His Grace.

It's because of Fan Wu Ji's head.

Although we placed it in a copper container to prevent decomposition

we've been traveling for almost a month now.

I'm worried that if we leave the head in there for too long

killing him would be a pity if His Grace can't recognize him anymore.

You mean you personally killed him, Master Jing?

Yes, Crown Prince ordered me to do so.

Master Jing, could you hand over Fan Wu Ji's head to me first?

I'll present it to His Grace later.

How about that?

This is so important.

It's a crucial item in demonstrating Great Yan's good will.

I think it's best I present it myself.

Moreover, it can be announced to the world that

this is the consequence of betraying Great Qin.

All right then.

I'll arrange for both of you to visit the palace as soon as possible.

Then I'll send someone here to inform you.

Thank you, Master Li.

After you.

After you.

[Li Si's Manor, Qin State]

I heard that a few envoys from Yan came to Xianyang recently.

Indeed.

They are two warriors that Crown Prince Dan of Yan holds in high regard.

But in my opinion

they're no more than two fools who were tricked into coming here

by Crown Prince Dan's handsome reward.

Chief Xia Hou Yang, you should know them.

Oh? Who are they?

One of them is Yan State's young warrior, Qin Wu Yang.

Qin Wu Yang?

As for the other person...

He is...

Jing Ke.

What? Jing Ke?

Why are you so shocked?

Wasn't it Jing Ke who escorted Crown Prince Dan back to Ji City?

Crown Prince Dan rewarded Jing Ke handsomely

with a huge house and beautiful women.

He then sent Jing Ke to Great Qin.

He has really made full use of Jing Ke.

He calculated the deal quite well.

Master Li, don't you find it bizarre?

Why would a highly skilled warrior like Jing Ke

be willing to serve as an envoy to Qin State on behalf of Yan State?

Moreover, he's even here to submit the Instrument of Surrender.

Perhaps Crown Prince Dan offered Jing Ke some great terms?

I find that highly unlikely.

That man is not one to be easily swayed by fame or wealth.

Could there be some sort of conspiracy behind this?

Even if there's a conspiracy

it doesn't matter, now that it has come to this.

With or without Jing Ke

Yan State is already Great Qin's easy prey.

Jing Ke actually came seeking his own doom in Xianyang.

But I won't let him off easily!

Qin Wu Yang, you never practiced swordsmanship in Ji City.

All you did was drink and gamble.

Now that you're in Xianyang, you're so hardworking.

What trick is this?

Lan, that's what you don't understand about me.

Actually, my skills aren't bad.

I deliberately took it easy before.

So my body could be fully rested.

Now that it's going to be of use, I just need to warm up.

I don't think so.

It's because you only realized how serious it is after arriving in Qin.

You want to make up for your weakness last minute, don't you?

Don't make me sound so timid.

Who am I?

I, Qin Wu Yang, killed someone at the age of 13 without even flinching!

Do you... Do you know what others call me in Yan State?

They call me Gutsy Qin!

Besides, a highly skilled warrior like Jing Ke will be there with me.

What have I got to fear?

After Jing Ke and I accomplish the grand mission

we'll surely be known in history for generations.

Be sure to get His Highness to find a scenic spot

to erect a monument in our memory.

- Master Jing, Master Qin. - Master Jing, Master Qin.

Who are you?

Junior Court Officer sent us over.

He said that Master Jing and Master Qin are visiting Xianyang for the first time

so you don't know your way around the city.

So my younger sister and I will show you around.

- Sure! - No way!

We're just taking a look around the city. Why not?

Qin Wu Yang, have you forgotten what you're here for?

Qin Wu Yang, you can go with them if you like.

Brother Jing!

You must be the famous Master Jing?

Won't you join us?

No, that's not necessary.

Such a lively mood doesn't suit me.

All of you go and have fun.

Jing Ke, we'll get going then?

Qin Wu Yang! You--

Let's go.

- Let's go. - Let's go.

Why would Mister Tian Guang choose someone like him?

He might seem reckless, but he actually has a good quality.

What strengths could he have?

He hates King Zheng of Qin just as much as I do.

He kept saying he'd head home after escorting me to Qin State.

Although he never says it out loud, I know that deep down...

He's prepared to enter the palace hall with me.

I told him to leave several times.

But he finds an excuse each time.

Really?

Qin Wu Yang also intends to--

So even though he may seem flippant

he's actually a loyal friend.

Brother Jing, now that we're already in Xianyang

do you plan to meet with Sister Li?

There's only a wall between us.

We are a short distance away, and yet so far apart.

I wish to see her, but how?

I'm from Qin State, so I know the regulations here.

If Brother Jing wants to see her, I could give it a try.

Don't bother, Lan.

I'm already worried that you might be implicated

for coming here with me.

You don't have to do anything else for me.

I'm grateful for the thought.

- Madam. - Madam.

Qing.

Qing, I'd like you to run an errand for me.

Madam, do tell.

I'll do as you ask.

Qing, since I married into the palace, you've always been so kind to me.

Even when I put your life at great risk so many times...

I'm really sorry.

Madam, you mustn't say that.

Madam, by all means, instruct me to do anything.

Whatever it is you want me to do, I'll do so without any regret.

As mediocre a person as I am

I'm truly grateful to have a younger sister like you.

You should know that Yan State's envoy, Jing Ke, is coming to Qin State.

According to Qin State's customs

all envoys will be sent to an annex of the palace in the city.

I'd like you to deliver a letter for me.

Yes, I'll deliver it.

Brother Jing, don't you feel surprised

to see such an orderly sight, here in Xianyang City?

Indeed.

The laws and practices of Qin State are known to be the most complicated

of all the seven states.

Farmers must abide by the Statutes on Agriculture.

Soldiers have to abide by the Statutes on Rank for Military Merit.

Builders must abide by the Statutes on Artisans.

Officials must abide by the Statutes on the Establishment of Officials.

The past few years, more and more laws have been implemented.

The laws of Great Qin are very strict.

But there's also miscarriage of justice.

But it's perhaps because of such laws

that local authorities can operate systematically

and the people can live in peace and prosperity.

To be honest, it's after arriving in Xianyang

that I realized why the six states are no match for Qin State.

Brother Jing...

Since you know that the six states will be annihilated sooner or later

could that change your mind about assassinating King of Qin?

You know that I don't want you to get yourself killed.

Lan...

No matter what I might think now, none of that matters anymore.

I've already made a promise to His Highness...

And General Fan...

and Mister Tian Guang.

Since I agreed to do this...

I must keep my word.

Let's go.

Greetings, Your Grace.

Miss Qing, where are you scurrying off to, in such a panic?

Your Grace, Madam is feeling unwell today.

She took some medicine and is resting now.

I'm going to make Madam some nutritious meals

so she can recuperate well.

Your Grace, are you still--

Forget it.

Let Madam Li get a good rest.

Yes.

Qing.

Present.

Take good care of Madam Li.

I'll visit her later today.

Yes, Your Grace.

Master Qin, have a bit more!

Have another drink with me!

- Here, here. - Here.

Have a drink with me.

Sure.

You're drunk. You should get some rest soon.

My Young Warrior Jing!

You've finally returned!

Come here!

You don't know.

We went to so many interesting places today.

It's such a pity!

There aren't any casinos in Qin for me to try my luck.

Ladies, it's getting late.

You should head home.

Yes, Master Jing.

We'll take our leave.

Qin Wu Yang, do you know what you're doing?

You're seeking an audience with the king of Qin soon.

How can you still drink and be merry?

It's exactly because I have to meet King of Qin in a few days

that I have to make the best of the time I have left.

Lan, you don't have a clue.

Xianyang City is such a bustling and prosperous city!

I really wish I could just have fun for a few more days.

Qin Wu Yang!

You mustn't forget why we came to Qin State.

I know why we came to Qin State.

I'll die soon.

Should I be reprimanded for having some wine?

Jing Ke, you're impressive.

You don't fear death.

You wish to bring peace to everyone in the world.

But what about me?

I'm just an ordinary man.

I have the desires of an ordinary man.

I see you as a brother.

I can't bear to see you get yourself killed all alone!

You... Do you understand?

Qin Wu Yang...

You should go and get some rest.

It's not too late to go, if you regret it now.

Such a fool! A fool!

He's such a fool!

May I ask if Warrior Jing, Jing Ke is here?

Young lady, why do you want to see me?

I'm Madam Li's personal maid.

Madam Li told me to pass on a letter to an old friend from Wey State.

If Warrior Jing refuses to read the letter

I shall return it untouched.

Thank you.

[Meet me at the ancient temple in the woods at noon tomorrow. Li.]

Brother Jing, what will you say to Sister Li when you see her later?

To me, that's the most difficult question to answer.

There's a lot that I wish to say to her.

But under the circumstances, there's nothing to say.

I'm an outsider.

I think that when you meet with Sister Li you should speak to her warmly.

After spending all these years apart...

She and I...

We're no longer on intimate terms.

If there's one thing I really wish to speak to her about...

I'd like to ask her about Tian Ming.

But I've never been a father to him.

And now, I'll be walking to my death soon.

Perhaps I'm not even fit to say his name.

Brother Jing...

Haven't you considered taking her with you?

I hope you can lift your spirits to take on this final battle.

Don't be distracted by other matters.

What a shameless couple!

You're about to die, and yet here you are, flirting with each other.

Aren't you even ashamed?

Xia Hou Yang?

What are you doing here?

Young Warrior Jing, it's been a while.

Have you improved your swordsmanship?

How did you manage to find me?

You have your ways, I have mine.

We serve different masters.

What's so surprising about that?

So you were related to Qin State somehow?

No wonder my father couldn't find you.

That idiot, Ge Nie!

He wishes to seek revenge from me, with that brain of his?

- In his next life! - You--

Lan!

Xia Hou Yang, I have other matters to attend to.

If you knew any better, you'd step aside.

Don't ask for trouble.

Young Warrior Jing, you do have quite the courage!

No one else has ever dared to talk to me like that!

You must have stayed indoors for years, practicing your skills

to have such a misconception.

That's enough nonsense!

If you want to leave safely, it's very simple.

You just need to hand over the Swan Swordsmanship manual.

Then I'll spare your life.

Xia Hou Yang, you're more naïve than you look.

Don't even think about it.

Step aside now!

If you won't hand over the manual

I'll beat you till you hand it over!

Xia Hou Yang, quit it.

You're no match for me.

I don't wish to take more lives.

Shut up!

You think you can act all cocky after learning some witchcraft?

I'll surely take you down today!

I'll have the world know that

I, Xia Hou Yang, am the best swordsman!

Then don't blame me for being ruthless.

Father?

This is Swan Swordsmanship?

Good skills!

Warrior Ge, why did you stop me from killing Xia Hou Yang?

I've been looking for this old rat for half of my life

in order to avenge my wife. I've finally found him today.

How can I let you get to him first?

I shall take my leave then.

I won't disturb you from seeking vengeance.

Very good.

Lan, get going.

Don't worry about me.

I'll surely avenge your mother.

Father, take care.

Old rat.

I finally found you.

Ge Nie, you sabotaged my fight!

You're putting on a strong front again?

If it weren't for me, you'd have already been killed by Jing Ke.

You-- Since you've come to seek your own doom

don't blame me for not showing you any mercy!

Madam, this is the where you asked to meet him.

But Young Warrior Jing hasn't arrived yet.

We must get back to the palace before sunset.

Or else, we'll be found out.

Let's wait a while longer.

Qing, wait out here for them.

I'll take a look inside.

Ge Nie...

Is this the best you can do?

I've been hiding from you all these years.

Who knew that I'd thought too highly of you?

You can say that after you've taken my head.

You--

Xia Hou Yang.

Since you killed my wife, I've spent my life hunting you down.

Today, death is upon you.

I'll send you on your way!

Could Sister Li have already left?

You finally made it!

You must be Madam's sworn sister, Miss Ge Lan?

Yes. Where's Sister Li?

She's inside. Go in quickly.

Brother Jing, go in quickly.

I'll wait out here for you.

Sure!

Senior Jing...

When did you decide to lie to me?

Since Senior Han said that he was taking me out of the palace to see you

I began to think that if I ran away with you and Tian Ming...

Where could we possibly hide?

[Preview] Senior Jing.

Listen to me just this once. I beg you.

Don't meet King of Qin.

I have no other choice now but to keep going forward.

There's no turning back.

Lan...

I wish you happiness.

I've failed you.

You'll always be my lovely sister.

I'd like to ask you for a favor.

I'd like you to use sleeping incense to knock my senior out.

Then, hand this scarf to him.

He must not make it to the palace hall.

Your Grace, you know very well that this person is an assassin

sent by Yan Dan to kill you.

Why?

Why would you still take such a risk?

What can one assassin do to me?

Your Grace, the envoys of Yan State have entered the palace.

Very good.
